J.M. Winchester brilliantly captures her readers with this deliciously dark-twisted tale.
All the Lovely Pieces is told by three narrators.
1- Drew. This is a mother who will do whatever she can to protect her child. Even if that means being on the run for the past 9 years. 10 years ago she came home from school on a holiday vacation; little did she know her life as she know it would be flipped upside down. Waiting to be picked up at the airport by her mother, she is surprised to see this drop dead gorgeous man, Adam Crenshaw, waiting to take her to her father's office. At first appearance Adam is the epitome of a catch. Tall, dark, handsome, and a billionaire to boot. Adam quickly wins Drew's heart and after a few short months they are married. And this ladies and gents is when Adam shows his true colors. He the definition of a psychopath... I mean there was really a book written on him by an old therapist. Well when Drew becomes pregnant she fears not only for her like but that of her unborn child's as well. She knows she must leave soon if she wants to live, and if she doesn't want her son to end up just as deranged and damaged as Adam. However, her escape won't come easy. Adam painted her as a crazy woman, who is deadly and dangerous to others..... just ask the Nanny.....
2- Michael- Drew's son; who at times makes it know he is his father's child.. I mean... piles of dead bugs.... a missing kitten.. But he also shows he was raised by Drew as well. There is love and compassion in there. He just hasn't had the most stable upbringing. Never any friends of family until they finally settled in their current town. And Michael will finally make sure he can have friends and people who will love him.
3- Lastly there's Catherine- She's the Nanny who was replacing Drew in the eyes of Adam. Adam loved his nanny so it's only appropriate to love his child's nanny as well. Catherine believes once Drew is caught and thrown in jail; she and Adam will live the life he's promised. That is until he brings home a new wife; and now Catherine is questioning everything he's told her.
What a devilishly twisted tale to show the lengths a mother will go to protect her child!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to preview this ARC of All the Lovely Pieces by J.M. Winchester.
Drew has been on the run for nine years now. Desperate to protect her son Michael, they have moved from place to place with a fake identity and terror that they might be found. Looking for answers, Drew seeks the help of a local therapist to learn more about the man she is running from.
Normally Drew doesn't like to stay in one place too long, but Michael is getting older, and it's getting harder to explain to him why they must keep moving. It doesn't take long until they begin putting down roots and forming relationships, but is Drew wrong to think that they can ever be safe? And who can she trust?
This is a quick read that started out strong and interesting. It's horrifying and mysterious and you quickly turn the page to find out more. Unfortunately the ending totally fell flat to me. Suddenly these complex characters turn into cartoon versions of themselves, and the scenarios almost become laughable.

All the Lovely Pieces is an interesting read. I thought it would be predictable but it was not. Thrilling, and kept my attention late into the night. Highly recommend!

All the Lovely Pieces is the debut psychological thriller written under the name J.M. Winchester. I’ve known J.M.’s work as Jennifer Snow for some time. She writes sweet contemporary romance. I have to admit I wasn’t prepared for this. I knew it would be different from what I’d grown used to but Wow! This is one of those mess with your mind, keep you up at night books. I finished it at about 11:30 last night and could not go to sleep afterwards. I think I need to read something all warm and fuzzy now.
Drew Baker and her ten year old son have been living life on the run for ten years. They never stay in one place long and Drew is always on guard, always looking over her shoulder. She never allows herself to get acquainted with other people, always keeping themselves separate. Now Drew has come to Liberty, Missouri. There is someone here that might have some answers, someone to help her find that information that could save them. Because she’s tired of running. Her son wants a normal life, friends, holidays. Things most children take for granted.
To say Drew had been in an abusive marriage would be an understatement. Because it was so much worse than that. She had gotten to the point where she wasn’t sure what to believe, the things her husband told her, or her own mind. But, she got out. Only now, parts of her memory are confused with what happened that last night. She can’t put it all together.
In Liberty, she finds herself becoming friendly with one of the women there. It would be her very first real friend. And there is a man who has expressed interest in her. But she’s damaged. And she can’t risk a personal relationship. She knows she can’t stay. That it’s only a matter of time until she and Michael have to run again. As soon as she gets the information she needs.
This book completely messed with my mind. I had no idea what the heck to think most of the time. I know I gasped out loud more than once. And there was no way I was going to be able to put the book down last night without finishing it. If you think you’ve seen evil, you’re mistaken. Because you haven’t. Until you meet Drew’s husband. He is the true definition of the word.
This is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat from the first page until the last. Drew is the true definition of a protective mother. Because she will do whatever she has to do to protect her child. I can’t wait to see what J.M. Winchester comes up with next.

All the Lovely Pieces had familiar chapters like Girl on the Train. But much different as far as the story goes. Drew and Michael are obviously on the run at the start and slowly the details unfold as you read the book.
Adam seemed to be the perfect man. Smart , rich and very attractive to Drew it was love at first sight. Then the honeymoon wore off and the real Adam came out.
This book had me hooked from page one. I could not put it down till I had found out how everything had happened. I highly recommend this book!

Great book! Drew and her son Micheal have been running since Michael was born. For 9 years Drew has been running from her husband Adam. Adam is a very powerful abusive man. Drew must keep moving to stay alive and safe with Michael. Then they move into a small town and everything changes.

Drew Baker is on the run from her abusive husband.Nine years ago, Drew took their son after a violent event she can't really remember. , As Drew and her son, Michael, settle into yet another small town, Drew slowly gets drawn into the community, finding friendship and a possible new romantic relationship with a man who is as gentle as her ex was violent. all the while trying to find evidence of what really happened on that dark night almost a decade ago. But Drew was right to be worried. Her husband is coming...and he won't stop until he gets what he wants.
I read a lot of thrillers, and domestic thrillers seem to be a real trend at the moment, so some of the plot elements can be repetitive, and it can be a challenge to find a thriller in this genre that feels fresh. All The Lovely Pieces was a great surprise for me - it was definitely an original plot, and I really enjoyed the author's writing style, and the way the chapters were alternately narrated by Drew and some of the other characters so that the story un-ravelled gradually and from multiple perspectives. There were a couple of plot points that felt shoe-horned in (Drew's friend calling her to talk about a VERY niche mental illness she'd just learned about, and which Drew immediately realised applied to her violent ex, for example) but overall, it was well-paced, well-plotted, with the tension ratcheting up in the final chapters. I look forward to seeing what this author does next!

Oh this book was so very good. I read someone describe this book as "chilling" and I felt like that was the perfect adjective! This story kept me hooked right until the very end!! So many twists and turns and just phenomenal writing! Excited to recommend this read to everyone.

"Michael and I need to remain ghosts in the towns we pass through- insignificant background shadows on the daily lives of the people around us".
Always trust the prickling sensation creeping up the back of your neck!! This is a heart pounding, edge of your seat thriller about a abused wife on the run with her 9 year old son. Can they ever stop running, will they ever be safe? When Drew and Michael move once again, they find themselves in a small town named Liberty. Can Drew possibly make a life for her and her son? I guess you will just have to read this one to find out. #allthelovelypieces #NetGalley 4/5⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow! I'm so pleasantly surprised by this book. It held my interest the whole time I was reading, and I never wanted to put it down! It didn't really rely on twists to capture you, but instead gradually fed you more information. This was written in multiple perspectives. The chapter titles let the reader know which perspective they're reading, but each one's voice was so distinct that I never got lost or confused. Really well written, and such an intriguing story.
This is a story about a woman on the run from her abusive millionaire husband, trying to protect her son from him. She's having trouble remembering a very important night, the night she had to run. She reluctantly settles into a small town, but will never feel safe until she finds proof of her husband's true nature.

Acquired this one from netgalley. Overall I would say it was wild. I loved reading from the different perspectives but it was kind of creepy seeing into everyone’s logic. I kind of had an inkling of what was going to happen but it was executed in such a way that it made you really enjoy all the facts coming together for the big conclusion. Well written and a real treat.

I just finished this book and love the story, very good mystery could hardly put it down wanted to finish it all in one night. New book by a new author that I’ve never read before but will enjoy reading her stories again in the future I recommend this book to anybody if you’re in for a very good sit down and read .

Absolutely loved this novel! Excellent character development, and totally keeps you wanting to find out what happens next. Highly recommended!

So many heart racing for this one! Such a wonderful thriller you won’t put down.. how far would you go to protect your kid?

Wow, this book was quite the thriller. It certainly kept me wondering what would happen next. I found the fast pace to be very suspenseful and it was hard to stop reading. I do think other readers will want to know there is quite a strong element of domestic abuse, which could be a bit intense for some.

Beware that the underlying topic of domestic abuse could be a trigger for some people! This book started off intriguing but fell short for me in the end. I wouldn’t quite call this book a thriller. Overall, this story was just ok.

This book was truly gripping from start to finish. I found myself sneaking the odd few pages here and there at work as I could not put this down. The first chapter had me hooked and held my attention all through the story from start to finish.
I enjoy books where there is different points of view and narration is from various characters perspectives, I feel that in general this helps to build up a bigger picture of the story and know what is going on inside the mind of more characters. I especially liked the use of Michael's point of view.
I was kept guessing throughout this book. Drew remembering her past with Adam and building up to the present day kept me intrigued and I was, at times, wondering whose version of events was correct. Was Drew as mentally unstable as she had been made out to be or was she on the run for genuine reasons.
This is a dark and creepy thriller and I will be recommending it to friends and family.
I hope that J.M. Winchester continues to write in this genre as I would be excited to read more. Thank you to Netgalley for approving me to read the kindle version of this prior to its release.

I started All The Lovely Pieces at ten o'clock at night, naively thinking I would read a little bit and then go to bed. At 1:18 a.m., I finished this book without pausing or setting it down and coming back later. Drew's story reeled me in on page one. On the run with her son from her billionaire husband and wanted by the law, she tries to live her life with no attachments. Michael makes friends in the new town and Drew's well thought out plans are tossed out the window. The story seeps out a little at a time until the horrors and truth smacks you upside the head and leaves you rooting for Drew. Exciting and chilling, this story demands finishing in one sitting while leaving the reader with a hangover full of shock and awe. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

If you try to drown your sorrows........they eventually learn how to swim.
Drew is on the run. Period.
She and her nine year old son, Michael, have lived in the dark shadows since almost the day of his birth. But this time they've come upon a small town in Missouri with a highly ironic name. Liberty. Drew hasn't felt one iota of release since they left Seattle on that fateful day.
Adam was suppose to be a haven of strength for Drew when she first met him through her father. He recognized her art talent that day when she brought in her portfolio. Her prints were to be displayed at the Herman Gallery. Adam had a very persuasive personality as the CEO of C2 Technologies. Before Drew knew it, she and Adam were married and Drew was expecting their first child.
And what Drew wasn't expecting was the drastic change in Adam. Possessive to the point of cruel, Adam hardly allowed Drew out of his sight. after Michael was born. As readers, we will take a front seat witnessing. Adam's over-the-top behavior. In a sheer moment of good fortune, Drew and Michael escape from the gated house. But Drew will leave behind drifting and uncertain memories of what occured in the last moments in that nursery.......and the blood that stained the carpet.
J.M. Winchester sweeps Drew and her son from one harrowing situation to the next. She and Michael have lived in dives and changed their identities. They've managed to stay ahead of their past. But it's here in Liberty that Drew begins to let her guard down inch by inch inviting phantoms from the past. Phantoms that don't have Drew's best interest in mind.
All the Lovely Pieces is relayed through the voices of Drew, Michael, and Catherine (Who will be revealed as you set foot in this one). Winchester does a fine job of carving out the intensity and the fear residing in the character of Drew. Because of her strings are so taut, Drew will have a tendency to be sharp-edged at times and almost off-putting. But we'll give our girl a break as the twists and turns of the story start to surface. Sleeping with a box cutter under your pillow makes for some pretty sliced up nightmares come morning.
I received a copy of All the Lovely Pieces through NetGalley for an honest review. My thanks to J.M. Winchester and to Thomas & Mercer for the opportunity.

This was a page turner! A who-done-it type of book full of evil and lies. Written with 4 different viewpoints (the husband, the nanny, the mother and the child) what a mother would go through for a child and why you should never hire the nanny 😂. I actually had a nightmare while reading this one 😂. I absolutely loved it!
