I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This was a great book explaining where different animals live but was extremely difficult to read because of the way it presented on my Kindle. Missed some of the very small print (unable to enlarge don't enough). I would recommend this for children ages 3-5.

This is a sweet children's book. It shows the homes of various animals and gives facts about those animals, and of course ends with a human child and parent walking to their home. I enjoyed that the human parent & child were shadowy outlines so any person reading it could fit themselves into the book. I thought the selection of animals was nice - some familiar favorites (polar bears) but some deep cuts as well (tufted puffins). The artwork is fairly realistic and not too cutesy, which is one thing I appreciate in an animal book. Altogether I enjoyed this book.

You Are Home with Me is a delightful picture book. The illustrations are beautiful and evoke warm and tender feelings of love and comfort. The story itself describes how various animals care for their young. Alongside each illustration is an additional fact about the animals pictured. This would be a lovely bedtime story for parents and children.
Thank you to Netgalley and Sasquatch Books for an advance reader copy.

A most lovely book about various northern animals where each page depicts a scene between mother and offspring. The illustrations are beautiful, and the text shows a heartwarming paragraph about the mother/child bond as well as factual information about the animal. Definitely a bedtime story to read to children as well as a book I would order for my school library. Thank you to Net Galley for an advance e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

great illustrations. great storyline. my two kids and i love this book.

An absolutely stunning book with beautiful drawings and fun little facts about each animal. This is truly a work of art.

This is a sweet book that could be a bonding experience for a parent and child. The illustrations are beautiful and there are tiny factoids about different animals, but it mostly illuminates the nurturing power of parents of all species. "If you were a lynx, I would search for a fallen tree to shelter us, and we would snuggle behind the roots to stay warm." Each set of pages follows that style. It's very cute.

You Are Home With Me is a simple but beautifully illustrated Children's picture book that shows you where a few animal families might call home. The story is more informative than having any real plot but I think young children would enjoy it. Especially as a quick bedtime story. 📚🐺😴
Thank you to Netgalley and Sasquatch Books for providing me with a review copy.

This is such a cute little book. You Are Home with Me by Sarah Asper-Smith is a picture book that tells about the different ways that animals shelter their young. It also has a little bit of extra info on each type of animal on each spread. The illustrations are very cute and will get any child excited to learn.

What a beautiful and tender way to explain to young children how different animals make homes for their own children. It certainly would convey security to any child reading this book. Also the drawings are so detailed that they add to bringing out the story. Great book to read aloud to children during a visit to the zoo or a library.
I received an arc from NetGalley in exchange for my volunteer review.

This delightful book is from the author and illustrator of "I Would Tuck You In". This new picture book is filled with gorgeous illustrations and would be a wonderful addition to your young child's nature library.
Various animals are depicted in their natural environments. The book recapitualtes some of their habits and how the parents nurture their young. Kids will love seeing the care and bonding that occurs between the baby animals and their loving parents.
A blue whale has a summer home in the north and a winter home in the south, a flying squirrel lives in a hole within a tree, a tufted puffin digs a burrow on the edge of a cliff near the sea, and a moose finds a new place to sleep every night, stomping down the ground in a circle to form a bed, just to cite a few. The author includes an interesting non-fiction fact about the animal on each spread.
This book was created by a gifted husband and wife team. It is a perfect introduction to wild animals and their adorable offsprings and a perfect book to share at bedtime or anytime. The message is positive and heartwarming. It is a confirmation to both the animal world and the human world that home is where the heart is. I highly recommend this book.

I received an electronic ARC from Sasquatch Books through NetGalley.
Children need an understanding of home. Asper-Smith takes readers through various animals and their babies to talk about ways they make a home. Each spread offers a different animal and allows families to talk about how they're similar and different from the animals - ex. gray wolves - others help care for the baby besides the mother. The book ends with the emphasis that they will always have a home with the adult in their life. True, not all children have this, but it can be adapted to offer security and reassurance to many.
Love the animal facts on each page.

This book had great illustrations and a beautiful message. It was a great way to teach love to your children and add education information in about different animals and their home.

This book has beautiful illustrations and fun facts about animals and where they live. This is a wonderful children's book. Thank you Sasquatch Books via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

"You Are Home With Me" is a beautifully rendered children's book. Great artwork and little fun facts throughout this book. Highly recommended.

This book reads like a love poem from a parent to a child and combined with beautiful illustrations, will certainly be enjoyed by families. I appreciate the factual information for each animal too! Very sweet!

Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Asper-Smith, and Sasquatch Books for the opportunity to read "You Are Home with Me" in exchange for an honest review.
This book is absolutely adorable!
Gorgeous illustrations depict what various animals look like and what kind of habitats they live in across the world, the places these animals call home. Each animal also has an interesting fact about it, and I learned some fun bits about these animals I thought I knew well!
The perfect book for a young reader itching to learn about nature, and highly recommend for preschool teachers to read to their children!

Honestly, one of the first things to do with a book like this is to just take a moment to look at the absolutely beautiful arctic foxes on the cover of You Are Home With Me by Sarah Asper-Smith. If nothing else, it does an amazing job of pulling you into picking it up. There was no resisting requesting this book when I saw it and I had a rather fun time reading it. A cute children's book, You Are Home With Me follows a various number of adorably drawn animals who show off their homes to their children, even featuring a small blurb about the habitats on the side of each set of creatures.
This book has a lot of things going for it from the beautiful artwork that really captures the feel of the story to the brilliant way in which the author uses the emotional message to teach the children reading it. This story also ended exceptionally well, with the voice of the story speaking to their own children. Of all the things I loved about this novel, with the foxes pretty high on that list, the thing I loved the absolute most was the way it was ended.
The only thing I didn't like came from the fact that the story's language didn't really flow all that well. It almost seemed as though it should have rhymed all the way through, but the truth of the matter is that it never really did. And while I wouldn't say that was a big facet to the book as a whole, it was mildly annoying. Still, overall this was a wonderful and educational children's book that I could definitely see myself recommending.
I was provided a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

You Are Home with Me is a beautifully illustrated read-to-me children's book aimed at the youngest children up through 7(ish) years. Due out 12th Nov 2019 from Sasquatch on their Little Bigfoot imprint, it's 32 pages and will be available in hardback format. Written by Sarah Asper-Smith and illustrated by her husband Mitchell Watley, it's a sweet exploration of 15 different wild animal families and where they live with their babies.
The illustrations show the animal families with a short easy to read description of their homes and how they live. Each of the pictures also includes a short sentence with an interesting fact about their behavior or anatomy. The pictures support the message beautifully.
This would make a superlative library/reading circle, classroom, or bedtime read. It should be noted that the text is specifically written more toward a caretaker talking to their children, but it would still make a lovely group read for classroom or library use.
Beautifully executed work. I received an early eARC of this book for review purposes and fully intend to buy several gift copies of my own for friends' children.
Five stars.

ARC Copy...I like its simple and easy to pick introduction to species of animals with fun tidbits of info plus delightful way to go to sleep for the nature loving kiddie type.
