Helena Hunting returns with an all new rom-com in her Shacking Up series. Handle with Care is every bit as entertaining as the rest of the series. If you have yet to experience the first four books, don't fret, this can definitely be read as a standalone novel.
Lincoln and Wren had a funny dynamic. They had good chemistry, though sometimes in the beginning I think the humorous moments overshadowed the romance. That said, as the characters grew closer and defined their changing relationship, the emotional connection began to shine. It wasn't just a back and forth exchange of flirty banter, their developing feelings were clear.
Overall, Handle with Care was a fun-filled, witty, and light-hearted book. The sweet temporary-CEO falling for his handler storyline was enjoyable, and it made for a nice weekend read.

This is the only book that I have read in the series but I did not need to read the rest of the books to enjoy this one at all.
Lincoln finds himself back in New York and running the family business after his father's death. His pain in the ass brother cannot keep his crap together long enough to do it. He doesn't meet his Mother's perception and she assigns him a handler to get him in ship shape.
Wren has had her hands full as the PR representative for Armstrong. Suddenly she finds herself with both brothers to looks after. She is damn good at what she does and she won't let this cranky man ruin that. She has to fight the attraction from day one.
The more time they spend together the more they realize life is easier with them as a team. Just as the lines start to blur more and more secrets come to light. Will the lies pull them apart or bring them closer together.
I see myself going back to read the rest of the series.

Handle With Care by Helena Hunting is another fun addition to the Shacking Up series (but it totally stands alone). Lincoln has a dysfunctional family he has been avoiding for years. Now he suddenly finds himself as the new CEO after his father's death. The only perk is Wren-the woman assigned to help him get it all together and acclimate to his new role. If you read Hooking Up, you have an introduction to Lincoln's brother, Armstrong. Oh Armstrong...
The story starts as an adversarial story between a guy who doesn't need a handler, and the woman who is sure he does. Lincoln doesn't feel he needs Wren to manage his life; however, he does realize how much easier she makes things. He might not want to admit it to Wren though. There is chemistry between Lincoln and Wren from the beginning! The beginning of the story starts as the hate you, but once they start to admit their feelings, things get HOT. I thought these two were really sweet together. The rest of the drama comes from some issues with Lincoln's family.
If you enjoy Helena Hunting's steamy romance and her sassy humor, Handle with Care will be right up your alley! The story is light and low angst and perfect for a weekend binge. Lincoln and Wren compliment each other's character well and I genuinely enjoyed their story!
Ahhhhhh Dear Helena Hunting... THANK YOU FOR Wren !!! AND THANK YOU FOR LINC! From the first sentences I was sure that it will THIS kind of story... I feel so satisfied right now (HOWRVER it sounds like)..How could I forget ??? Mrs. HELENA never dissapiont!!!
Handle with Care is really amazing - Wren and Linc are perfect!!! They are feisty, they are funny, they are SEXY!!!! And emotional... I can't say nothing less than "This book is Helena Hunting at the finest".
I didn't read this book - I DEVORUED IT in one sitting, I just couldn't stop. From paige to paige I needed more of Wren, more of Lincoln.... more of this author.
4.5 Stars
Best in the Shacking Up series by far, I fell totally in love with Lincoln, Wren and their looney shenanigans. "Handle with Care" was an enjoyable and lighthearted read brimming with sizzling sexiness as well as Hunting's off-the-wall hilarity.
I adored the rugged and often grouchy Lincoln Moorehead. A man set in his uncouth and stubborn ways, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with his ill-mannered spoiled relatives and the family business. After his father's untimely death and without choice, Linc was guilted by his spitfire of a grandmother (the adorable G-Mom) to take the helm at Moorehead Media temporarily. To prepare him for the new role, the serious and sassy Wren Sterling was assigned as his handler. Both unreasonably strong-willed, they clashed big time, and that's when all the fun began. Intense and fiery, these opposites combated one another on every level as they eventually surrendered to their desires. It was fun watching them fumble their way into love. In the end, they made the perfect couple.
Fans of this series will thoroughly enjoy "Handle with Care". I read this in one sitting and loved every minute spent with Wren And Linc. G-Mom was a hoot, and Armstrong was his arrogant, misogynistic, annoying self (ugh, I really can't stand him). All in all, a good read. I do hope Lawson from "I Flipping Love You" gets his chance at love in the future. His romance would complete the series for me.

Handle With Care is the highly anticipated book in the Shacking Up Series by Helena Hunting and where we finally get to know more about the enigmatic Lincoln Moorehead.
I'm the kind of reader that tend to fall in love with the hero first, but this time the heroine was the one that stole my heart—I'm not saying I didn't love him, because not to love Linc was impossible, but Wren was so loyal, so fierce, that she put Linc a little bit in the shade.
Everyone agrees that second characters play an important role in a story—some of them are loved or hated, but we always want to know more about them. I'm saying this because even though I know Amstrong Moorehead is one of the hated ones, he deserves to redeem himself, so here's hoping he gets the chance to do it. Also, Hope needs to tell her story. I think it's obvious I want more books in the series, LOL.
Helena Hunting delivers a story that's impossible not to devour with all the charm, humor and slow-burn romance it touts. A charming dance between humor and heart that will keep you devouring the pages until the end.
An applause for this new story of Helena Hunting that made me addicted to her words again. I loved it. Her characteristic writing style that combines comedy with drama is captivating. I can't get enough of her stories and this was no exception.
Lincoln and Wren are everything, their chemistry is off charts and their banter is beyond incredible, I love them, their dialogues, their scenes together, they are so funny, they captivated me from the front line.
Lincoln is perfect, I loved him, as he cares about those he loves and is so passionate about what he does, ** sighs **, after unveiling his capes, he makes you fall in love with him completely. And Wren, wow, that girl is my animal spirit. She is badass, so determined, so focused on achieving the goals set, definitely an incredible hero.
I loved this couple so much, they were so perfect. You definitely won't want to miss them. An slow burn office romance that will leave you wanting more. Highly recommended
Lincoln and Wren are amazing.
I loved how he had second-guessed her intentions. And how she slowly fell for him. After all he really is irresistable.
I loved Wren's lipstick. Just because Lincoln hated it. The book is funny and at times really hilarious. I should just say that Armstrong really is a douchebag. He is so irritable.
Helena knows how to make characters reach to your soul. Either with their being great or not so great. Anyway the book is a faboulous summer read!
I received an earc from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I'm a sucker for a strong heroine, and Wren Sterling fit the bill. As a handler for Armstrong Moorehead, she had her work cut out for her, and I couldn't stop laughing at the way she repeatedly put him in his place. She was tough when she needed to be, was able to whip both Armstrong and his brother, Lincoln, into shape, and still had a softer side that made her so easy to love.
Lincoln was another perfect Helena Hunting hero, his strengths and flaws giving me all the swoon. I loved the way he and Wren got on each others cases, and their banter was on point. His obsession with her lipstick was just one of the many things I loved about him, and his desire to be different than the family that raised him and give to those in need made him the perfect man for the job and for Wren.
I loved this book, the twists and the turns and the family secrets. It left me guessing until the end and one of the secrets that was dropped has me sitting on the edge of my seat begging for more. Fantastic story, fantastic characters!

I read this over a month ago but I'm a dumbass and didn't review it right away. It's now it's release day and I'm going to make an attempt at a proper review but I can't promise anything.
Wren Sterling is a publicist and her work is not all that easy. She is supposed to manage the brattiest and most assholish man ever, the embodiment of a privileged cis straight white man, Armstrong Moorehead. When she learns that she'll have to also manage his brother, she expects the worst.
Lincoln Moorehead has just lost his father and has to come back for the funeral and the will before going as far from his family as he can, like he usually prefers it. But when his grandmother asks him to stay for some time to take care of the family company, he can't say no...
I really liked this story. I loved the characters and the plot just felt right to me. The chemistry between the two main characters was very well written and I felt a lot from beginning to end. I read it insanely fast because I was completely mesmerized. It definitely was one of the best romance novels I've read this year. Helena Hunting just takes you and makes you feel, from the pain to the joy, to the anger or the butterflies. You can't escape it.
I seriously hope I get to read another book in this series.
Wren Sterling is a fixer. She's given all of her time and energy to Moorehead Media to ensure their success and to hopefully secure her own future. An opportunity to spend less time with the difficult younger Moorehead brother has Wren signing up to bring the brooding Lincoln up to speed. His suits don't fit, he's less than patient in the board room, but something about him just tugs at her. Lincoln Moorehead would rather be helping impoverished communities, anything but sitting in a stuffy suit with his insufferable family. Wren makes his days a little better, but he still doesn't see this being his future. Sparks fly between the two, but when a new scandal comes to surface Wren must choose between her future and the brooding, handsome Lincoln.
Wren Sterling is your stereotypical go-getter. She is all business attire, driven, no-nonsense attitude with a coffee in hand and a glare on her face. Except, she's also human and I love how Helena Hunting brought her to life. She is every woman that's been accused of going after too much and yet she really has a heart of gold. She's willing to grin and bear it in order to reach her goal, to make her dream of helping others come true. It is impossible not to like this woman, which is of course something Lincoln sees in her beyond her beauty. Lincoln, on the other hand, besides his good looks and his desire to help others doesn't seem to have a nice bone in his body. He's the word gruff to a t. Yet, like Wren, we fall for him. I loved how his true personality, his thoughts he'd held onto for so long, came to light. These two, despite their initial meetings and their vastly different opinions of one another, really are quite the match. We may be in an office building fighting over money and business future, but what the two really share is the same kindhearted nature and love of life. I think Helena Hunting hit it out of the park, this relationship and story didn't feel like or read like all the other workplace romances out there and that made it a unique read for me.
You know those books that just give you that romantic butterfly feeling that seems to go missing once we all turn into jaded adults? Handle With Care gave me that feeling. It's romantic, it's sweet, it's laugh out loud funny. Lincoln and Wren don't fit like the two puzzle piece matches we're used to in most books, resulting in what felt like reading a truly natural dating story. They butt heads, they flirt, the lust between them is insane, and in the mix of all that they have work and a seriously challenging situation to deal with. While I loved the entire Shacking Up series, Handle With Care, the fifth and final book, just might be my personal favorite.
What happens when your famous rich parents hire a public relations representative to handle your incompetent brother's behavior? Or when they extend the contract to include yourself and there responsible for bringing you up to speed on the multimedia mogul company your now the acting CEO? You may ask yourself who's the one that needs special care when handling? So much drama going on, great one-liners that only Helena Hunting can deliver with her style of wit and wisdom.
I love this book. You wont regret one clicking this! As always with her books laughter is bound to come and this one was no different!
Enemies to lovers, office romance, secrets, mysteries, a lot of *sigh*, a lot of "swoon", a lot of *lol*, two amazing characters, a good story... Thank you Helena Hunting for this beautiful book!
I'M IN LOVE WITH LINCOLN ! He's now my fav hero of the Shacking Up series!
At first he's a grizzly bear... But behind his grumpiness and his facial hair he's sooooo perfect! So humble, so generous, so honest, so caring, so sweet, so hot, so gentleman, so funny, so passionate... soooo PERFECT! And not a manwhore (thank you so so much Helena Hunting, again!)
I love how he handles his douche of a brother Armstrong. I love his relationship with his grand mother (the FABULOUS G-MOM). I love his fixation on Wren's lipstick. I love the way he manages Moorehead media. I love his passion for helping those in need in poorer countries. Yes i love him!
As for WREN... She is a delight! And totally badass! The way she handles Armstrong... Soooo good! She is confident, she knows how to defend herself and her opinions, she knows how to inspire respect. The kind of women we all tend to be. I love her fixation on Lincoln's chin dimple too.
She's also honest to a fault and that's what Lincoln needs. They both have a strong moral compass and a heart of gold. So perfect for each other. They challenged each other, are both stubborn and smart. Expect funny banter, passionate scenes, steamy scenes (but not too many, just the perfect amount).
Another thing i REALLY love with those two : they COMMUNICATE !!! Yes they are MATURE and HONEST enough to communicate, listen, support, and act like a team. That's so refreshing.
Wren's parents were a good surprise, they are flawed, human, selfless, supportive and handle issues as a team too.
The epilogue was everything i wanted :-D
"And i fall more in love with the woman who fits perfectly into my life, like she's always been part of it, like she's somehow been sewn into the fabric of who i am, without either of us realizing until now".
Handle with care is book 5 in the Shacking up series. It can be read as a standalone but the four previous books are really good so you should give them a chance ;-) .
We meet a new character here who i hope to see later... maybe in her own book.
This is the fifth book in the Shacking Up Series. This is a great Romantic Comedy, and Office Romance. Lincoln and Wren'story is hilarious, sexy, and beautiful. This is a great story with wonderful characters. The Epilogue is the perfect ending to this story. I loved it enough to purchase the audiobook version after reading it. Handle With Care is a great addition to the Series, and I highly recommend it.
It's hard to write a review on a book that I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. There were some characters that I really detested, to the point that I didn't want to read any more of the book. I pushed on to the end and enjoyed the story but it never gave me any happy thoughts or made me smile at the end.
I read any genre but I will admit Rom Coms are not my first choice to pick up, don't get me wrong I like them but my reader heart loves it's dark, angsty, damaged and broken way too much. But I do like to mix it up and read something like this especially if Helena writes it. She sparkles in this genre with bunches of heart, soul and lots of sassy. I really enjoyed Lincoln and Wren's story it did make me chuckle and smile.
Thank you so much to @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the e-arc of Handle With Care by Helena Hunting. Ever since the ladies in the #freaksbetweenthebooksheets book club introduced me to Helena Hunting, she has become one of my favorite romance authors. I was so excited to be able to read early book number FIVE in the Shaking Up series. This series can be read as a stand alone so it is ok if you haven’t gotten around to the other books yet (what are you waiting for?!).
Handle With Care follows Wren and Lincoln. Lincoln’s fathers passing is still fresh when his grandmother guilt trips him into staying in NYC for a few months to help run the family company. She also springs Wren on him. Wren has been working for the company for awhile as Lincoln’s brothers “handler” to manage the media backlash whenever Armstrong screws up (which is often). G-mom would like Wren to boost Lincoln’s image to help the company. Lincoln is less than pleased with having to stay in NY, let alone be handled by a no nonsense, stubborn women like Wren. Their attraction is almost immediate although (of course) they fight it quite hard. Lincoln is surly and difficult and Wren is suspicious of his character based on her previous dealings with his brother. Their constant banter is funny and I loved how much of a backbone Wren had. This is a little bit of a slow burn but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Lincoln is sweet and compassionate under all of that surly armor and Wren really brings out the best in him. Also, this one gets pretty steamy. I’m giving it a solid 4 stars.
Loved this so much! Handle With Care was such a fantastic story filled with humor and love, heat, and so much emotion. It's one of those stories I couldn't put down because I was so in love with the characters and couldn't wait for them to get to their HEA. It was a fantastic ride!
Wren and Lincoln were awesome. From their very first meeting, I was all in. The antagonism between the two was so fun and there’s a great attraction happening. It was so entertaining, sexy and playful. I loved learning who they were and discovering their histories as the story evolved. I had so many questions about their secrets and all the drama and I loved finding out all the details and the build to get there. I also loved the bits of angst, their chemistry, and the serious sexual tension between the two. When that tension explodes, total hotness!
This was just exciting for me to read. I loved Wren and her tenacity and how she didn't put up with anything. I loved that she was tough and could really hold her own. Now Lincoln, he was this gruff guy with a serious chip on his shoulder and I felt so bad for him, I could feel that pain. He was in a tough situation but all those moments to get him to the other side were great. I loved how other characters from previous stories are brought in and mentioned as well. Armstrong made me crazy but somehow, he's this outrageous misogynistic character I love to hate since his behavior is so over the top.
I thought the writing was great. There is a nice flow and I loved the humor. I adore the fact that this was dual POV, I loved their voices and perspectives. This was just fantastic. It was filled with humor yes, which was awesome. But I really loved all the emotion that happened and healing. From start to finish this was awesome. Loved it!
Let me start by saying that I have not read the other books in the series, and it's not a requirement. There weren't a lot of in jokes, or updating on previous couples that I sometimes see in other series. Nothing that made me stop and think, "How much did I miss previously?" or "Why does this feel like a part is missing?"
Now, Lincoln. What a fun character! Big, burly, and brooding but with plenty of tenderness to his personality. His love for his G-Mom was adorable, and the way he quickly came to rely on Wren was so much fun. Yes, I think he dragged out his baiting of her a little too long. But who hasn't let a joke (or TV show) go on longer than was necessary?
And Wren was a kick-ass woman, literally. I loved that she was able to put Armstrong in his place when got out of line. The fact that it wasn't just a one-off situation and then ignored as happens so often in other books was a joy. And she had goals. Goals that she didn't let a man distract her from. (I didn't like the "wind storm" scene because it bordered on "clumsy woman" a little too closely for me. Not a fan of humiliating women, in books or in real life. Where is the male humiliation? YMMV)
Now, when the two of them come together, they are so much better than apart! When problems rear their ugly heads, sure, there's a bit of a communication struggle. But then they - GASP - have a conversation about things. They handle it with logic and as a unified team. Together. I loved that because too often in stories problems are based on lack of communication and misunderstandings. It's a cheap gimmick that I find lazy authors rely on too much. There was plenty of tension, and serious obstacles, to be overcome without resorting to hackneyed tropes.
When Lincoln's doubts surface, does he do the childish thing and flirt with another woman? No. Is he mean to Wren? No. Does he do something that could irrevocably damage the relationship that so many other writers use to build tension? NO. This is a true story of two adults coming together in a relationship, and you can clearly see how they will handle future interactions. It's clear that these two know how to make things work, for themselves and as partners for each other.
Wren handles Lincoln, but then he handles her right back. They are the balance the other person needs in their life.
I did think Armstrong was a bit over the top. Narcissists cannot be "cured", so to bandy that word around seemed to set him up as un-redeemable. But I wait eagerly to see what happens next with such a repulsive character.
G-Mom was great, although we don't get to see her nearly enough. (Is anyone else wanting her to have a gentleman caller of her own?)
I'm looking forward not only to the next book in the series, but also to catching up with previous books. Female characters who aren't simpering idiots are always a plus, so I need to read more of them. Great for fans of Penny Reid.
