Great story, This Wynn brothers are hot in and out of the Ice ring. JP and Taylor are having fun, But life make funny things, like put your family upside down. For Taylor and JP family is everything but family can break your heart.
JP and Taylor find love in a fun way, and they help one another to find love.
I received a ARC from Netgalley for a honest review. I enjoy reading this book and recommend it.
There was a lot to love about this book - but most of it happened in the second half of the book!! I would classify this as a new-adult romance. I'm not sure if that was Kelly Jamieson's intention or not - but the characters in this book (as with the last one) seem very young. Maybe that means I'm getting old!
I really loved JP - but he definitely needed some quality therapy. As did Taylor. The main issue I had with the first part of the book was a real dislike for Taylor. Throughout the book she is described by others as being sweet and lovable and good - but she was really not nice to JP. Basically taking out her own issues on him and then being upset that he isn't falling all over himself to be nice to her. Her actions at the start of the book are pretty immature. Particularly her response to a major life change - <spoiler> her parent's divorce and her mother's subsequent revelation that she is bisexual and living with a woman (understandably a shock that is handled pretty realistically </spoiler> The thing that saves it - is the growth she shows and the growth JP shows. Although, JP ends up taking things a little to far in the opposite direction.
This book is really about personal growth - and learning to accept yourself and others for who they are. Its very much about making mistakes and learning from them. I liked the development of the characters - but I think Taylor in particular maybe needed some refinement and depth - she truly came across as more self-centered and naive than sweet and loving - at least where JP was concerned.
No matter what- I love Kelly Jamieson's writing and will keep on reading! I'm looking forward to finidng out more about the rest of the family!
JP is a hot hockey player that meets sweet Taylor at a wedding and the chemistry/sparks between them ignite from there. After spending a hot and steamy night together they have many obstacles in their way in order to be together. This is a great read for those who like steamy/romance, fit/sexy male characters and some sports thrown in. Highly suggest reading. ☆☆☆☆☆
I loved this book. It kept me engaged from page one to the end. It was sexy, funny, and full of drama. The main characters JP and Taylor are strong likable characters. This is the second book in this series and can't wait to read the next one. This book can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend this book.
I received an advance copy from NetGalley for my honest review.
This book deserves a big glowing review from me...But I'm sorry, I just don't have the time with real life getting in the way...so I'll make it short and sweet.
I loved it from the get-go! The hero--bad boy hockey player and black sheep of the family, JP Wynn ( the one who did his brother Theo wrong in the first book and is continually paying for it), hooks up with Taylor (bf of Lacey from the first book) at a wedding...And it was hawt! Chemistry galore. But then her ex shows up at the wedding, and uh-oh, did he just steal another man's girlfriend--AGAIN? This goes against everything JP vowed to avoid--no more emotional/bad decisions. It's time to straighten out your life and be responsible for once.
I won't go on. JP and Taylor were made for each other, so I urge everyone to take the time and invest in their story. It was all consuming for me. So hot. Such a redemption for JP. So Taylor got on my nerves a bit a few times...it didn't matter in the end. I loved their story and loved them. If only there was more of an epilogue (sigh)...
Maybe there will be an update in the next book...
The beautiful, romantic and quirky story of JP and Taylor was so touching.
Plenty of heat and angst. Warm and wonderful resolution. I didn't want it to ever end.
This is the second book of the series and it picks up pretty close to where the first book ended. This is JP's story. He is Theo's brother and the current black sheep of the family. Bad choices in his personal and professional life have left him trying to straighten out and do better.
The book follows his relationship with Taylor. She is friends and neighbors with his brother and sister-in-law. Super hot chemistry between these two. A little bit of hockey, a little bit of angst, and great puppers--but that is about it. Super sweet romance. Once they get over a few communication bumps, JP and Taylor are good as gold.
Easy read. Not as great as the first book but still lots of Wynn family to get through before we hang up our hockey skates. Looking forward to the next book.
I really like this author and have read several of her books. This one began with our heroine falling into bed with the sexy hockey stud. And although I generally do not like this type of beginning, the story quickly moved in a direction that made me like and care about this couple. I enjoyed learning that JP had big heart and that there were depths to his personality--he wasn't the superficial "player" everyone thought him to be.
I did find Taylor's parent situation a bit strange and unbelievable--mainly that she was given a day's notice before things were put into motion. Other than this, I enjoyed the book and look forward to others in this series.
I love a good sports romance, but this one just didn't work for me. JP and Taylor meet at a wedding and sparks fly immediately, until her ex starts a fight with JP in the middle of the dance floor. After that, JP tries to focus on the hockey season and Taylor casually dates a few other guys in an attempt to forget about him. They try out the friends thing for a while, but you know it's only a matter of time before they get back together and live happily ever after.
My issue here was that it was all trying too hard. The characters didn't feel authentic, and the love scenes were kind of over the top with their descriptions. JP's voice, in particular, was like a stereotypical jock which didn't fit at all with the "heart of gold" thing that we were supposed to believe was the real him.
The real hero of this book was Byron the dog. He was the truest and most genuine part of the story. I'd read more of this series if the people were given the same depth as the pets!
**Thanks to NetGalley, Random House and LoveSwept for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.**
4.5 Stars!
When I read the first book in the Wynn Hockey series, there were two things I wasn't impressed with: JP Wynn and the big Wynn family tree I had to learn. I'm happy to say both of those issues were resolved in In It to Win It.
In It to Win It is JP's book. JP wasn't the jerk I wasn't expecting him to be after getting to know him in book 1 as the guy who stole his brother's girl. He was just a guy who made some poor decisions. I loved how this book had him examining his actions and trying to do better. I loved how he actively worked on making his relationship with his brother better. I also liked his choice in women.
Taylor as JP's love interest was a surprise to me. Last I knew she was into Manny. I had been pulling for her and Manny, so I wasn't sure I would buy into a relationship between her and JP. She was just too nice. Once I started this book, I totally got her reasons for hooking up with JP. Taylor and her motives were so easy to relate to. I also found myself a fan of their chemistry and relationship. I loved how it grew -- even when it was filled with so much up and down drama that sometimes I felt like I was getting whiplash.
As for the crazy Wynn family tree, now that I knew what was going on with them, it took less explaining and time away from the story. I loved seeing bits and pieces of the family. They became more endearing. I can't wait to see how some of those relationships work out and the single family members find love.
Overall, In It to Win It was another fun contemporary hockey romance by Kelly Jamieson. I would recommend it to sports romance lovers.
I am a huge fan of Kelly Jamieson. This book is the second in the series and I read the first a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The h is Taylor and she is a well rounded, strong female lead. I love her. JP, the H, is harder to love. I like him, but he has too many insecurities that really are emotionally debilitating to him. While this book is very good, I feel JP needs a lot more work on himself to overcome his insecurities and I hope the next books cover his journey in addition to the new H and h.
I do recommend this book and cannot wait to read the next one. 4.5 stars.
Love, love, love Kelly Jamieson and this book was no different. I feel so blessed to get to read this ARC and hopefully more in the future. The first book in this series was great, this book was great and the next one will likely be the same.
KJ is one of the very few authors who have gotten me to try out the hockey books, again, I'm not disappointed, but learning more about a sport foreign to me. The author puts enough about the sport that you are learning the importance of certain things and emphasizes the dedication required, but there is still a very big story going on off the ice so that it is thoroughly enjoyable even if you aren't a sports fan at all.
You can't go wrong with this book if you enjoy romance with a sports background and you don't need to read the first book in order to appreciate this one. Well done and worth a credit or paid read!!
There was something about this book...things that normally would have irritated me didn't. I think a part of that was JP. Sure he was a screw up, but he was working hard to correct that part of himself. You could see when he would pull himself back and how he would beat himself up when he wasn't successful.
Taylor was fun and the perfect person for JP. It was easy to see why at times she was a bit wary of starting anything with him, but if she forgot that he was a hockey player all was good. The two of them together were cute, they had fun razzing each other and just hanging out.
I was glad when Taylor found out why JP messed up it didn't seem to hurt as much, because it was all for her.
I always love Ms. Jamieson's books. In It To Win It, was very emotional for me. I felt so sorry for JP. He was hard on himself plus his family were too. The poor guy couldn't get a break. The ending was great, everyone gets a happily ever after.
I think the biggest thing as to whether or not you'll love this book is if you believe in and feel the chemistry JP and Taylor have. Unfortunately, I did not. The opening scene had me all sorts cringing and I never fully recovered from it. There's a will they/won't they beginning followed by a casually exclusive relationship, and of course, a rift that they must overcome in order to realize they love each other. All of this hinges on their chemistry though. And most of the time, I didn't feel it.
I did enjoy the camaraderie between all of the characters. Even though this is the second book in the series it can be read as a stand-alone and you don't feel confused or disconnected from the side characters.
I received an advanced copy through Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book for an honest review!
I was really excited to get this book as I had read the first on the series and fell in love with Lacey and Theo. But now I’m in love with JP and Taylor, and lets not forget Bryon.
A wedding, a fight, a hook up, an ex, several mistakes made, equals a damn great book.
The characters are so interesting and yet strong. I want more. I really want to read Theo and JP’s aunts book? Is she getting one I Hope?
This book is so much more than hockey although I do love a great violent game? Lol!
This is the second book in the Wynn Hockey series. You can read it as a standalone, you will miss some of the background on the main character, JP Wynn.
The book was a quick, fun read that's perfect for summer. The story was witty and sexy but it was definitely predictable and at times it was lost in the weeds of the family backstory. That's is why I'm giving it 4 chilli peppers of hotness.
I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my unbiased opinion. All thoughts are my own, thanks NetGalley for the ARC.
An absolutely stunning novel about family, love and forgiveness! Jp and Taylor’s story is one that I loved from start to finish! Their chemistry, easy flow of conversation and overall interactions were always on fire and made my heart happy!
Jp and Taylor have been through some crazy times and we see both of them grow and learn from their mistakes! Both are trying to understand the world around them and their place in it! As Jp struggles to come to terms with his past he has to decide if he can give his all to Taylor or if he needs to put all his focus on hockey! What I loved is that in the end his family didn’t let him fail and they let him see that love is worth it in the end!
I received an advanced reader's copy of In It to Win It by Kelly Jamieson from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was the first novel in the Wynn Hockey universe that I had read so I was a little leery about jumping into an ongoing series, but it was easy to catch up and comprehend the existing relationships.
Overall, I enjoyed this novel and I found it to be well written. The primary characters' romantic start seemed a little unbelievable and immature, but it improved quickly. Also, I enjoyed the primary and secondary characters' interactions and the steamy scenes were hot. A fun, quick read!
A nice romance
This book is the second one in a sports romance series and I enjoyed reading it. The story is set shortly after the first books ends and all of the main characters from the first book are part of the story. The story focuses on JP and Taylor. JP is trying to reapair the relationship with his brother and struggles with some decisions from the past. He meets Taylor at his brother‘s wedding and the attention between them is sizzling from the get go. However there are some complications, that make them starting a real relationship instead of a one night stand hard. However caring about a dog together gives them the chance to get to know each other better and fall in love.
I had a good time while reading this book. The story was a bit predictable, especially one development towards the end, however that didn‘t bother me. The ending also felt a tad rushed, but was still working forme. I enjoyed how the relationship between Taylor and JP developed and that they had time to get to know each other closely. The mixture of sweet, sexy and funny scenes was just right.
I’m definitely planning to read the next book in the series. I just hope that the story line involving JP‘s family will not get too much space, because it‘s starting to annoy me a bit.
Review will be published on different sites like amazon and Apple Books, as soon as the book is published.
