JP and Taylor meet up at a wedding and have a scorching hot weekend -- both the night before and a quickie during the reception -- but a misunderstanding about one of Taylor's ex-boyfriends causes the affair to come to a screeching halt. Taylor and JP have friends in common, so they are thrown together a lot. They are determined to resist the attraction between them and move on...but it's hard for them to forget their great night together.

Honestly, a lot of older Kelly Jamieson titles are some of my favorite re-reads, but I just found this one to feel very surface level. Things happen, people react, but it wasn't all that interesting. It just felt like a long rambling story someone is telling rather than a cohesive novel. I know a lot of people don't notice or care, but I think in this case, the use of first person present narration is the culprit. The characters don't ever seem to reflect or think about anything, it's just whatever is happening right now. It creates a strange feeling that everything that happens is just a plot device rather than meaningful events in their lives, there's not a lot of depth to anyone's feelings or emotions. For example, when Taylor's parents announce they are getting divorced, she's more upset about what will happen to her dog than her folks.

Fans of the series will enjoy it, I'm sure. Just not my jam.

I am a fan of Kelly Jamieson from her Aces Hockey series. I love hockey romance and have found a new family with the Wynns that will be causing alot of chaos with the books to come. I did not read the previous book, Play To Win, but was never lost in the story at all. Yet again, miscommunication is the root of so much misunderstanding with so many relationships. The number of people that make up this hockey family gives me hope that many more Kelly Jamieson books will be in my future. I'm very lucky to have reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley, Loveswept and Random House Publishing.

I think I have realized that Kelly Jamieson's writing style just isn't for me. I have to accept that and move on even though I love Hockey Romances.

Being part of the Wynn family was NOT easy. JP was labeled the "bad boy" of the clan due to his past romantic entanglements and scrapes out on the ice. He was determined to "be better", however, would he ever be good enough for a woman like Taylor?

This was all about JP for me. Yes, he was guilty of every crime he was accused of, but he was never given the opportunity to present his side of the story. He just accepted the admonishment from his family, and let them believe he was this impulsive hot head. But, not Taylor. Taylor couldn't reconcile these past actions with the man she saw before her. She had her suspicions, that there was more to the story, and as suspected, there was. I was so happy there was FINALLY someone, who could see past the public persona, and really took the time to get to know JP.

I won't say Taylor was perfect. She frustrated me a lot in the beginning of the book. I thought her reaction to what happened at the wedding was a bit extreme, but I guess it was the kick in the pants JP needed to get him to make some changes to this life. I appreciated seeing both JP and Taylor grapple with some personal issues, and grow from them. Both really had hang ups, when it came to relationships, and that was an obvious hurtle for them, but JP also had to learn to forgive and trust himself, and not let the pressure of the Wynn legacy keep him from living his life his way.

In book one, we just got a taste of the Wynn family. Here, we are getting to know more about them and their dynamic, bit by bit, and I am really enjoying learning more about their family. I also got to spend more time with JP and his team, and they shared quite a wonderful bro-moment in Nashville as they helped him worked through one of his blow-ups.

Overall: I had a fantastic time with JP and Taylor as they worked towards their HEA. It was fun, sexy, sweet, and I always am on board for a good redemption story.

How can you not fall in love with this book! JP has to be my most favorite kelly jamieson character, and that’s saying a lot if you have read any of her books before.

Spoiler alert

This book was amazing I couldn’t put it down, it’s hard not to fully get absorbed in this book. The story of Taylor and JP , starts off as a one night stand , and then they get thrown together again , But will they make it work! Can the bad boy of hockey and his family, get a happily ever after ?

JP Wynn is still reeling from the mistakes of his past. Taylor has always been into hockey and attracted to the hot players. While Taylor world has been turned upside down, JP is the one who catches her as she falls. I adored Bryon (the dog).

I liked JP and all the depth he has. He is truly a conflicted hero who needs to believe in himself.

As all Kelly Jamieson fans know, “In It to Win It” is the second entry in the Wynn Dynasty hockey series. Those of us familiar with her Heller Brothers couldn’t wait to delve in. Did I love it? It’s complicated.

It’s so complicated that there is a handy cheat sheet at the beginning of the book detailing the dynasty’s large and growing family tree. Believe me, I had to refer to it more than once. And I read the first book, “Play to Win,” Theo’s story.

This book’s hero, or anti-hero as his family would have you believe is JP, Theo’s younger brother. There are some serious brother issues percolating, chief of which is JP dated Theo’s ex and as the good brother, Theo got sympathy and bad boy JP got condemnation. So in “In it to Win It,” JP struggles to redeem himself in the eyes of his family while falling hard for Taylor, a family friend and member of Theo’s wedding party.

Everyone is assembled for Theo and Lacey’s wedding. Generations of Wynns feuding through divorces, gold-digging stepmothers, inter-family lawsuits pertaining to the family business and second-generation grown children all involved, either as players, coaches or executives, in the family business. Throw in a lot of high-T professional hockey players and I ask you, What could possibly go wrong?

It starts off with a bang, literally. At 6 percent in the e-book, JP and Taylor are headed upstairs in the hotel for some private time. I’m only thinking of myself here, but I’d like to know each of them better before they get physical, even if they don’t need to.

Which brings me to Taylor. Aside from her gorgeousity, her ability to rock a bikini (the setting is Santa Monica) and her supernatural paddleboard yoga abilities, Taylor remained a miss for me. She’s pouty, she’s unreasonable and quick to run. She does have a great dog, who in her mind quickly and disloyally comes to love JP.

JP does everything he can to win her respect as well as his family’s. He certainly earned mine, especially his refusal to label his grandfather’s second wife a gold-digger. (Sheesh, they’ve been married decades. Give it up already!)

It’s no spoiler to report it ends happily for JP and Taylor, while leaving open a whole lotta loose ends the Wynns will tackle in the next installment. Although I’m on the fence on this particular novel, I’m hanging in there to see what happens. It’s complicated.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was excited to read In It to Win It! However, I felt the first 1;/2 of the book was a little slow and that not much happened in the book until the 2nd half.
I do love Kelly Jamieson's writing, so of course I will continue to read books by her and I look forward to the 3rd book in the series.

Tough hockey player with a bad reputation meets sweet down home girl but nothing about her is as sweet as people think and nothing about him is as bad as people think. Bonding over his brother's and her best friend's wedding is a clean version. They have a hot weekend followed by lots of misunderstanding but in the end, he wins her back slowly with his gentle hand and love for animals. **sigh** Love this book!

Good story and premise! I loved how the story developed into something more! I read it in one sitting because it was that good!

I keep wanting to read these books because everything about these books look like it should work for me. Sports romance is my absolute favorite trope and I love a good hockey story. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. I think the writing style of this author is just not for me. This is the third book I've tried of hers, and I seem to find myself struggling to attach to the romance, and skimming to find something to hook me. In the end, this was a DNF at 35%.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review!

This is the second book in the series. You really should read the first book in the series to know all the characters and the continuation of the story line. We met JP in the first stary and I didn't like him and couldn't forgive him and totally did not believe his lame as excuse. In this one he is now interested in Taylor which we met in the first story and happens to be Lacey's friend, I was sad because I liked her in the first book this wasn't not as much. I still did not like Jp and he still did not believe his regretfulness, why? well he only broke up with Emma because she lied to him twice and she wanted his brother back and when that didn't happen she continued with JP who as I mentioned only broke up with her when Everyly told him that she went back after Theo. So you see not out of heart, not because he regretted it and in know time did I really feel it. Yes he realized he was wrong, which dude you so were, here you continue to say how much you love Theo how close you were to him, yet you had no problem continuing on with a relationship with Emma. Maybe I am petty but I liked that his grandfather called him out on it and his family were not as a forgiving as Theo well you know you need to work for it because dude you were so so wrong and he did not do anything in the story to show his repentance. Taylor grow up I know that it broke your heart that your parents relationship fell apart but that is their problems and decisions. I will continue to read it because I loved the Wynn's and cant wait to see which crazy family is next with their issues.

I really liked this book. I enjoyed JP and Taylor together. The sparks just flew off both of them whenever they were together, even when JP, especially, was trying to be on his best behavior. I was sure that I would like this story but it exceeded my expectations. I liked JP and his mouth. Taylor and her love for her dog. What’s not to like? A book about hockey, family, and a bad boy, not much better than that!

I received an advanced copy this book from Net Galley for an honest review, thanks Net Galley! This is the first book I’ve read by Kelly Jamieson & I really enjoyed it! I liked JP & Taylor even though Taylor annoyed me a little in the beginning of the book. I also liked the supporting characters & look forward to reading more of her books & this series. I thought this was a wonderful book & highly recommend it but a note to the author for more of an epilogue.

I've enjoyed every hockey novel that Kelly Jamieson has penned for us, and In It to Win It was no different!

We first met JP Wynn in the first book in this series and to say he's on the outs with his family due to the fact he was with his brother's girlfriend is an understatement. There is no doubt that JP has flaws, just like anyone does, but he recognizes it and it doing is level best to be a better person. Whenever he makes a mistake he can't let it go and he's constantly beating himself up which doesn't help him in the least.

Taylor Hart is the best friend of Lacey, who we also met in book one. Taylor has always had a thing for hockey players, enough that she's dated them in the past, and that hasn't changed. When Taylor and JP connect at the wedding, they CONNECT and the sparks are immediate and explosive. When Taylor realizes she can use that chemistry to her advantage to make the man that left her jealous, she does so without a second thought. Well, at least a second thought at the time.

There is no doubt that the chemistry and connection between Taylor and JP is immediate and enduring. They do have to deal with quite a bit of drama, but that is generally a staple with families and relationships! We do get a look at the Wynn family from JP's perspective and the one thing I liked was how he always focused on his step-mother and including her when much of the rest of the family doesn't. I think that shows what type of man he really is.

I enjoyed this one and am definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.

3.5 stars
I like this series, but I preferred book one to this one. I thought JP Wynn was going to have have a much crazier plot than it was.

I loved this book. JP seems to always do the wrong thing but there more to his actions than others realize. He meets Emma at his brothers wedding and they have instant chemistry. However he is a gentleman and steps aside when he thinks she has a boyfriend. JP goes through a journey of self discovery with the help of Emma. This book has lots emotions, steamy romance and a hot hockey player. You have to keep reading to see if Emma and JP are going to get together or just be friends.

Yea! So excited to get JP’s story. Jean Paul is the brother who always takes the fall, blaming himself, the last time was when he “stole” his brothers girlfriend. After getting his brother to understand what truly happened, JP resolves to be a better man and brother, especially after meeting Taylor. He can’t help but be attracted to her and Taylor feels the same, right? Poor JP can’t seem to shake that bad boy reputation causing more trouble.
Between miscommunication, hard feelings, and an attraction to each other, In It To Win It has a lot going for it. I love Kelly’s books and this one is no exception.

Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!

So this is book 2 in this new hockey series. It is about JP and Taylor. JP is Theo’s brother and Taylor is Lacey’s friend. (Book 1) They meet at Theo’s and Lacey’s (Second) wedding, have sex, dance and then it ends with JP getting into a fight with her ex and her running away. Poor JP thinks he made another mistake and Taylor blames herself for trying to make her ex jealous.

Great characters!
Fun world!
Loved the dog!

I greatly enjoyed this one. I felt it started off slow, but then it took off and I couldn’t put it down. I read the entire book in a day.
