I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book 4 in the Her majesty’s Most secret service. I tried to read the other books in the series but I was not a fan and wanted to get this one over with. The characters were okay but I was not a huge fan of the villain of the end. It just got really completed and hard to follow at times. It was also annoying that for a character that had been on the run for years was such a wimp. She just kept crying and not standing up for herself it was driving me crazy.
If you are looking for a book loaded with suspense, mystery and action then this is the book for you! The characters were well-developed and the story was well-written. There was a few twists that were really good, along with some steamy romance. Excellent story!
This book. I’ve never had so many emotions about the leading characters. Don’t be fooled by the title – Scotland and being Scottish hardly apply to this book. You won’t read of the beautiful Scottish burr. Which is a shame.
If you’re anything like me, this book will frustrate you and make you hate the lead characters just a little. It makes no sense to me that *spoiler alert* Mac is terrified of loosing Rose as he once did ten years ago. But it quite happy to sleep with her.
There just something about the writing style, or missing story element that hadn’t quite been ironed out. If Rose was the love of his life then how could he easily let you go? Maybe it’s because I’ve read many a historical romance and while the leading man is always a little pigheaded the one thing you can count on his their need to protect – at all costs. Mac lack some of that.
Though in all honesty the same could be applied to Rose, this strong, independent woman who didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Makes sense. What doesn’t make sense to me is that she left her bodyguard back in America?!? Erm hello… you’re returning back to England knowing that someone wants to kill you and yet you don’t protect yourself!
It’s these little plot elements *or booboos* as I like to call them that make this a frustrating read, it’s full of strong characters but it’s like the author has crammed too much in.
**Thanks to the Author and Netgalley for the advanced copy of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
I really enjoyed a great many things about this book. Characters were fleshed out and the plot was well spaced. Some of the secondary storylines could've used a bit more page space but all in all an enjoyable read!
Rose Fleming has been presumed dead for the last decade. It required leaving everything—and everyone—she loved behind, including MacAllister Campbell. But faking her death allowed her to stay safe until the threat posed by a mysterious villain had passed. Believing it’s finally safe again, she returns...and runs smack into the only man she ever loved. But Rose was wrong and the stalker she escaped years ago still has her in his sights.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author so I wasn’t sure how I’d like ths book, especially since it’s a sort of second-chance romance, something I’m not a huge fan of. However, this book was quite an adventure from the beginning that I really enjoyed. I loved both main characters and I loved following them on their adventure. I highly recommend.

Who doesn't love a good Scottish romance. I certainly do. Especially when that romance is a lost love being found again. When a Lady Kisses A scot speaks to the heart of everyone who has lost a love. I lived the characters immediately and couldn't put the book down until it was complete. I loved the visuals expertly crafted by this writer and a plot that had me at the end he of my seat the entire time. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and giving my honest feedback.
There was a lot of trope catnip here for me but I struggled to get into the plot. The villain was a bit too old school crazysauce I think.
I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. when a lady kisses a scot has romance, murder, and adventure. Rose had to take her own death in order escape the man who wanted her dead. She returns to London after receiving a letter from her aunt. however, her return brings back old enemies and an old love who believed her long dead. I loved this book. the plot was interesting and the relationship was solid.
This was a first read from this author and wont be the last.
I loved ecerything aboit this book.
Romance and both strong leads were amazing.
I could not put the book down. It was that good!
This book was just so good. I just couldn't get enough of it. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.
You've got to love this story. Two strong lead characters. I want to tell you the story, but I would ruin the plot. Rose is supposed to be dead...imagine the shock MacAllister feels when she bunps into him. They are a perfect match, both determined to find out who is trying to kill her. This story is well written, characters are well developed, and you will be cheering for a HEA.
Rose Fleming has been in hiding for years. Someone wants her dead and everyone who tried to help her is dead. Now she is on her own and comes out of hiding. Not expecting to run into an old flame or to have him want to stick by her side. Can she avoid him and solve the mystery of who is after her or does she need him to be free.
What a great story it really kept me wanting more I couldn't put it down.

Rose and MacAllister have not seen each other in 10 years. Rose has been hiding out in America after faking her death. She returns to England to help her aunt. Rose is a strong independent woman. This story had a lot of action that kept me very interested. Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this ARC.
I really enjoyed this story. It had a bit of everything: romance, villains and murder. Rose and MacAllister had a great connection between them and I was saddened that they missed out on ten years together. But I’m sure they made up for it. This was one of those books where you couldn’t put it down, as I had to know why she was being stalked. The encounter she had at the theater had me more confused and wanting to know why this person wanted her dead. Very well done.
I would recommend this book to others.
This was an action-packed novel from the start. When Rose Fleming faked her death, she left everything behind including the man she loved, MacAllister Campbell. Ten years later, Rose is out of hiding because she believes she is safe. When she runs into Mac, it shakes him to the core. It is worse when he discovers why Rose was in hiding. Will he risk it all to keep her safe?
This book was wonderful. It moved from the first page and didn't stop. The characters were strong. Rose was a wonderful heroine.

Ten years ago, Mac mourned the death of the woman he loved. It’s taken years to heal his heart only to discover that not only is Rose still alive, but still in grave danger. Mac can forgive Rose’s deception, but he’d never be able to forgive himself if he didn’t protect her from the evil still stalking her.
Mac and Rose are the best. I really enjoyed this book. Its a must read. :)
I absolutely loved that this story did not follow the typical, historical romance 'formula'. It was a very unique tale that immediately drew me in. The characters were vivid and complex and made the story seem so realistic, that I often felt like I was actually there watching the story unfold.

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from NetGalley & Entangled Publishing, LLC in order to read and provide a voluntary and honest review, should I choose to do so.
The story is well thought out and nicely written making this an exciting page turner and one which I am more than happy to recommend."
What an engaging tale
Our tale begins with our heroine Rose fleeing a villain who we do not know a whole lot about.
Her family is lost to her, she is alone, unable to seek help from the one man she wants because she fears to endanger him.
After close to a decade of being invisible she resurfaces in London to seek out some answers.
Not such a smart move. It seems she has been found and not just by the enemy.
Mac has always felt the loss of his Rose deeply. He has questioned if he made the right decisions all those years ago. A night that begins like any other brings him face to face with his lost Rose. Not only is she alive but it seems she may require a bit of assistance.
As Rose and MacAllister unravel the mystery of who is after her and why they must also face the true depth of their feelings for one another.
The characters were well crafted and the story stayed at a pretty steady pace.
Lots of breadcrumbs surrounding the mystery kept me engaged and turning the pages.
Rose IMO needed to back down a bit and take a thorough evaluation of her actions and reactions. Her character felt a bit waffly going from intelligent decisions to WTheck are you thinking moments.
Mac stumbled a few times with regards to how he felt but IMO he was more levelheaded than Rose and a lot more honest with himself about his feelings
When it came to the chemistry between them I had some doubts.
For me, the romance felt secondary to the mystery in this story.
I enjoyed the hunt.
I am curious to read some of the other books in this series

There is so much going on in When a Lady Kisses a Scot--a heroine in hiding, presumed dead; a hero and associates who are part of "Her Majesty's Most Secret Service;" a secret society with evil intentions; hidden tattoos; mysterious pictures and jewelry; so many characters with probably nefarious intentions--at times it was all a bit much to keep track of, and not having read earlier books in the series, I wasn't familiar with those characters either. (They play roles here, but you don't have to have read their stories to read this one; it just would have been easier to keep track of who was who if I'd read the others first.) The pacing also seemed a bit uneven--at times we were hurtling around at breakneck speed, and at other times I found myself checking how much more of the book was left...
Overall it was a decent story--the ending is satisfying, and the bad guys/gals eventually get their due (though I still don't 100% understand what exactly they were trying to do--their precise motivations were a bit vague beyond the idea of somehow gaining immortality and power). I do like the idea of men and women working together in "secret service" type organizations, especially in a historical romance, so chances are good that I'd pick up another book by this author even if I didn't totally love everything about this one.
