This was a great first chapter, I can't wait for the full book to come out. Looks like another winner from Sabrina Jeffries.
Sabrina Jeffries has written The Bachelor, which is the newest and second book in the Duke Dynasty series. The book follows a mismatched family with three Dukes and their siblings. Some being wealthy and others not so wealthy. The link that ties them all together is Lydia Fletcher who married three times. This book focuses Gwen Drake and Joshua Wolfe.
Gwen is the sister of a duke and is out on the marriage mart at the age of 30. She has many secrets from her past that she has kept from her family. Unfortunately, the secret is enough to have her being blackmailed by a man from her past.
Joshua is the third son of a duke. He was seriously hurt during the war and took a long time to heal. He was offered a job as a gamekeeper on her brother’s estate. He is curt, brusk and usually blunt. He knows that Gwen is keeping secrets and has been offered a job protecting her while she is in London.
Joshua and Gwen have fabulous chemistry and I really enjoyed reading about them in the prior books, so I was quite happy to read this novel. Secrets and lack of honest conversation is almost always the cause of problems. Too bad Joshua and Gwen had to work through all that, but that is what made the book so good. The Bachelor by Sabrina Jeffries was a great read.
I was given the book by Net Galley to read and review with my opinion. I was disappointed that when I first downloaded the book, it was only the first chapter. Especially since it was already offered at the end of the Project Dutchess. Sabrina Jeffries put a link on her website with the entire book once it had been corrected on Net Galley! I was quite happy to redownload and read the entire ARC.
This has me so intrigued. I loved reading about them in the previous book. I have a feeling they are going to be great characters.

I just finished my one chapter from @authorsabrinajeffries new book #thebachelor and I CANNOT wait for this book to be released. It’s a mix of the bodyguard with an injured hero (which is my weakness) and a headstrong older heroine (30 is long in the tooth in those days). I just pre ordered on amazon!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Just a single chapter was given to preview.
Love Elizabeth's books so can't wait to read the rest of the book
Review of chapter 1 - full review of entire book to come
Made me interested in seeing where the story is going, I am looking forward to digging into the full novel soon.
Just a sample chapter but very promising! The perfect tease which definitely left me hungry for more of this couple. Can't wait to find out how it'll progress. Very well-written.
When I requested this, I didn’t realize (or it didn’t say, could go either way, honestly) that it was merely an excerpt. But it’s definitely enough of one to entice me to keep reading. Enjoyed the first book in this series, which teased this book a little, and now my appetite is whet, I’m ready for more! Charming, well-written, interesting.
Enjoyed the first chapter. Heroine is spunky and stubborn. Hero is quiet and mysterious (Lord but I love a quiet hero). am looking forward to the rest. Exciting start. Color me intrigued.
The Bachelor by Sabrina Jefferies is the second novel in her Duke Dynasty series. The novel begins with a blackmailing attempt of Lady Gwen Drake and the involvement of Major Joshua Wolfe. The first chapter teaser sets up an engaging story for readers.
I loved the previous book, Project Duchess, and was thrilled to see it was getting a sequel. Joshua was so broody in the previous book and Gwyn so likable that I couldn't wait for their stories and now I'm thrilled to see them getting together. This sample is promising and I can't wait to read the full book.
This is just an excerpt/taste of the newest Sabrina Jeffries book coming in 2020.
There is just enough to make you want more.
I hope to get to read an ARC of this book in it's entirety.
I was unaware of this when I requested it initially.
I would love to say this book was a gem to read, but seeing as its just one chapter I’m reviewing it’s a bit hard to say that. In all honesty, I cannot do this book full justice from reading just one chapter. Although I would say, the one chapter was captivating and interesting. Which I guess should give an indication of how the book would be.
This was only a one chapter preview of the book. However, that one chapter was enough to hook me in. I can not wait to read the whole book!
I love the opening. The feeling that you are reading the gossip column of a newspaper is an intriguing twist that had me giddy to know more. Lady Gwyn's advanced age (30) is also a perspective that I am dying to read more about. This feels like a refreshing story line to break the monotony of the young, naive maiden in distress.
***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Typical historical romance, but good enough to keep my interest.
Arc
I am so disappointed that this was just one chapter.
I will leave a rating here but don’t feel right leaving a full review on one chapter of a book.
The book starts well but I have no idea whether or not I’ll enjoy it.
Only Chapter one was given for review as a teaser. I was so enjoying reading it and then found out it was only Chapter 1. I was upset for the tease, but I am looking forward to reading the full book when it comes out in 2020. This is going to be a great story as Sabrina Jeffries never disappoints. Based on what I have read so far, I will be waiting for this one to be released.
Can't wait for the whole book! This was just an excerpt. The Bachelor has a war hero protecting an heiress. She has a blackmailer and she's in London to navigate the ton and have her debut. They are the perfect pair. Just because someone has a title doesn't make them a good person.
I really enjoyed a great many things about this book. Characters were fleshed out and the plot was well spaced. Some of the secondary storylines could've used a bit more page space but all in all an enjoyable read!
<<< First chapter review - not whole book >>>
After reading the first book in the Duke Dynasty (Project Duchess) I was stoked to continue reading about this fascinating family!
I received a first chapter teaser and it definitely did that! I had forgotten it wasn’t the whole book and got myself quite engrossed in the story by the end of the first chapter! If I had had the whole book,, I could have read late into the night… oh well! Absence makes the heart grow fonder and I will eagerly be awaiting The Bachalor’s February 2020 release!
Chapter synopsis: Heiress Lady Gwyn Drake is keeping a secret from her family, one that has left her unmarried at the ripe age of 30. All is going well until her family decides to give her a. London season… Just when she thinks that is enough of to contend with at the moment, her former suiters and her secret come out of the woodwork with an eye to blackmail Lady Gwen! Thankfully the handsome and illusive gamekeeper is nearby to come to her rescue when Lady Gwen’s blackmailer gets mad at her… she is safe, but now gamekeeper Joshua Wolfe insists on tell her brother about the encounter… this will only make it harder for Gwen to appease her blackmailer when she arrives in London …
Wow! That was an exciting chapter… I can’t wait to see hoe Lady Gwen fairs and how things evolve his the hansom gamekeeper, Mr. Wolfe.
