I am looking forward to reading the actual book. This download was just a sneak peek at it. So I can't really give it a review.
I need more of this beautiful story. I’m a fan of Sabrina Jeffries for years and really looking forward to read this whole story
Delightful story in the works here. Strong headed heroine and brooding hero plus past drama and secrets. Extra points for the leading lady being 30. I'd hoped for the full book but the excerpt is a fantastic teaser.
I voluntarily read this for an honest review - all thoughts and opinions are mine
I love Sabrina Jeffries and was thrilled to be able to read this
The characters were introduced in Project Duchess which I was also privileged to read and love
This is a quick look at the book - being just 1 chapter and can't wait to read the whole thing.
I did not know that this was a sample chapter before I requested it but I thoroughly enjoyed the beginning and can’t wait until the rest of the book is available. I would like to know the backstory between Gwyn and the captain that’s blackmailing her. But I’m more interested in what will happen between her and the Major
I didn't realize that this was a single chapter excerpt when I requested this. Frankly, I wouldn't have requested it had I known.
While I was intrigued by the first chapter, reviewing a book based off of just that seems pointless. Besides, I've always enjoyed Sabrina Jeffries and didn't need this to convince me.
Loved the start. However, it wasn't listed as an excerpt when I grabbed it so I was disappointed. I'm anxiously awaiting the release!
This was disappointing. I was expecting the whole book but only received the first chapter. I reread the first book in the series expecting to go right into the second. I feel I can’t really review a book based on the first chapter.
The excerpt definitely was interesting to make readers get hooked. I would love to know how the plot continues. The bold and daring heroine made the excerpt really fun and interesting. I also liked the fact that the heroine is 30 year old instead of the usual 17-18 year old heroines which I believe will bring in more character development for the heroine.
I can't believe this was only a brief sample of this title. I loved this teaser and can't wait to read the full book. It feels like ages until it comes out!
I received an ARC of the first chapter from NetGalley. There was not enough of the story to write a complete review since it was only one chapter, but it seems like it will be a great book to read.
I did not receive the full book, but the excerpt I received intrigued me and I look forward to reading the book .
I was intrigued by the plot and also the chemistry/interactions between the characters.
The first chapter sampler looks to be setting up a great story from Sabrina Jefferies! I’m intrigued by the blackmail surrounding Gwyn and intrigued why she is having her debut at 30. I love an older heroine. I haven’t read the first book yet but I know Gwyn’s family is made up of several half-siblings from her mother’s marriages with three dukes. It sounds like a crazy interconnected family and I’m excited to read it!
This is only Chapter One of the story so there’s not much to tell except it is an excellent start! I can’t wait to read the rest of Gwyn and Joshua’s journey to HEA!!!
Very fun excerpt! I will be looking forward to reading the entire book! I am captivated with the characters and can't wait to see what happens. Sabrina never lets me down!
I read an ARC chapter of this (twice!) to review, but it's rather difficult to review anything off of one chapter.
This is the first book by Sabrina Jeffries that I have read. I didn't read the earlier book in the series so I have no background to what is going on.
The story starts with the news that a (nearly?) 30-year old woman is going to be presented at Court and will be having a season. I assume that she's supposed to be husband hunting but 30 seems a little old in that day and age.
I really don't get enough of a flavour of anything in a single chapter to pass any kind of judgement or recommendation. But from what I did read, I don't think I'll be putting the full novel on my "must read" list.
I received a sneak peek (only chapter 1) of, The Bachelor, from Netgalley to review. I can't wait to read the full novel now.
Not sure how I am to review just a chapter of this book. Well written, looking forward to the remainder.
This excerpt definitely made me want more. After reading the Duchess Project, I'm dying to read about Gwyn and Joshua - characters I found more intriguing than the mains. It had the beginning of a scandal in the dark, an older heroine than usual and a wounded, grumpy hero that can't really help himself (I guess and hope). Gwyn seems like exactly my type of heroine and this will probably, hopefully be a tasty opposites attract-romance.
Look out for this one!
This was a short excerpt from Sabrina Jeffries’ forthcoming book. Lady Gwyn Drake, half sister to the Duke of Greycourt, and twin sister of The Duke of Thornstock, who we first met in the first book of this Duke Dynasty series, is about to have her London come out at then advanced age of 30, together with the new Duchess of Greycourt, Bea. This has caused a furore in the society pages, because her mother has only recently been widowed again. Before she travels to London she receives a blackmail demand from a former beau, Captain Lionel Malet. They meet near the dower house, where her brother’s friend and gamekeeper and brother to Bea, Major Joshua Wolfe lives. When Gwyn is manhandled by Lionel, Joshua intervenes, and scares him off, Gwyn promises Lionel the money in London, and tries to convince the taciturn Major to keep this from her brother. He refuses, and asa result, he is appointed as her bodyguard for her debut. Gwyn is irresistibly attracted to Joshua, but he is brusque and uninterested... will he remain so when they are forced to spend so much time together in London? A promising premise , which bodes well for the rest of the book.
This was a great teaser chapter which has made me excited to read more! I wish it had been the whole book!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.
