A so-so heated romance by Tara Sue Me. It was pretty good but I kind of felt like something was missing. Overall good writing.
ARC received for review
The love story was great. The kink not so much. I expected more from Ms. Me.
I still want to know what's going on with Ty and Lillian. I hope their story is the next book.
Maggie and Isaac have a funny meet cute when she dumps compost all over him. Isaac ends up hiring Maggie to be his PA to help make his life easier. It will work if the their huge attraction to one another wasn't there. Widower Maggie has been looking for someone to teacher her everything she has been missing out of life, Isaac is the one who wants to teach her.
This story felt very rushed. There was very little character development. The writing is not in line with a best selling author and many parts felt recycled. This one was not for me but I appreciate the opportunity to read it.
I greatly enjoyed this book. It blended funny, sweet and erotic into one quick read. I would have liked some more back story for the characters, it felt like it just grazed the surface. This story held my attention from beginning to end leading to late night of reading. I should also mention that the D/s relationship was done very well, with discussions about it and slowly leading into it different aspect of it (unlike some books that jump right into the deep end with their new "swimmer"). Overall, this book was very good read. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I have to say I wasn't feeling this story, especially the hero. Not for me, especially in the depictions of the BDSM scene and kink.
I haven't read Tara Su Me in a while. I don't know why. I have always enjoyed her stories and was thrilled that I was able to get to read BSD. The name alone intrigued me and had me excited to read the story. I was not in the least bit disappointed. BSD was funny, erotic and interesting.
Isaac was intriguing. A demanding boss by day … a dominant by night. But, that's something that his new PA does not need to know. No matter how much he wants her to know and to show her exactly what he can do with his big swinging d. He knows she's not in the lifestyle and he never mixes business with pleasure.
Maggie is totally fascinated by Isaac. She has no idea why he would offer her a job right after he met her. But, she's not going to let that stop her. But her boss is really, really bossy. And, it makes her hot. She has no idea what kind of meetings he has at night but has an idea. When she sweet-talks his partner into taking her to The Club, she's even more intrigued and has a whole new outlook and respect for her boss. Until he catches here there … now, all bets are off.
I loved how this story just flowed off the pages. You couldn't wait to turn the page to see what kind of a mess Maggie made or how Isaac was going to react. She was the perfect PA. Especially when she was under the desk. When the perfect solution to their problem of working together came along, Maggie couldn't accept the position quick enough. Why? Now they could truly be together.
Tara Su Me knows how to write erotica and bring you right into that world. But, she also knows how to spin the story around it. It's not all sex … there is always an interesting story around it. You understood why Isaac was intrigued with Maggie and why Maggie felt insecure in the bedroom. Then you totally felt them falling in love and understood the dilemma they were facing with their relationship. I truly enjoy getting to know the characters, understanding them and Tara Sue Me did a wonderful job of doing that.
Great book-short, not explicit BDSM no graphic sex. Truthfully for readers not in the lifestyle it was just right. Looking forward to the next one. First two are definitely stand alone although it was nice to have a little background from the first one when reading this one. Would definitely recommend.
As far as fun, quick, quirky summer reads go, BSD fits the bill. The characters are sweet, fun, and more than a little bit swoon worthy. In her usual style, Tara Sue Me sweeps us right up into the story without making the reader try to hard to grasp where she's going. Did I love it? No, but I liked it a lot. I just felt the whole story line was a little too forced, in that it moved so quickly that I felt like I didn't get a real chance to snuggle in with the characters and really feel them. The quirks and nuances each character has could have been delved into a bit more for me, bringing with it a truer connection while I was reading. I read to make that connection with the character so that I'm truly lost in a good book. Will that lack of deep connection stop me from reading more in this series, nope. Just an observation from me personally. This is truly a sweet story to take along to the beach and get sand between the pages, you'll read and enjoy it between suntan lotion applications, and evening out your tan lines.

Tara Sue me writes a very balanced novel. In Big Swinging D, no aspect suffers; romance, BDSM, suspense, it all seems equally represented. i really appreciate the respect with which Ms Me writes about the BDSM lifestyle. This novel is the 2nd in a series, but stands alone with no issues. The characters, both primary and secondary are fully drawn, layered and interesting. The story unfolds quickly and the love scenes are plentiful, however they serve to move the story along. I intend to read the series. 3.5
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.
Normally, I look forward to a great read from the author. However, I was severely disappointed with this title.
It could have been more, I was so bored by the storyline and it seemed as if the Maggie and Isaac were forced. I just didn't feel the heat or the passion.
This is my opinion for the ARC
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, sexy romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
First, I have to admit that this isn't my usual type of story. Second, I have to admit that I liked it a lot. Maggie and Isaac are very deep characters that are well written and believable. The background story is unique and very good. The suspense or surprise well written and welcome. The writing is smooth and flows easily. This was a very enjoyable book.
Having read FOK before this book, I knew going into this one that it would also be novella-like in length and to not expect too much. I think this book did a much better job bringing us in by including more details though, so that was a welcome change.
We met Isaac in FOK, although I really didn't remember much about him other than he was partners with Ty and Lance. He's pretty stern and no-nonsense, so when he finds himself with a personal assistant, he's on the search for a new one. That's when he (literally) runs into Maggie, who just so happens to be carrying a bucket of compost. I guess you could say they had a meet 'stinky' cute beginning.
Maggie is the widow of an oil heir and her in-laws hate her. She's never liked the rich snooty types of people since all she knew were the mean kinds. She was a bit of a free spirit and certainly had a lot of personality and added some humor to the story. On the first day she meets Isaac, he offers her a job as his assistant, even though it's pretty obvious they both want a more physical relationship.
Eventually, they take that next step in their relationship and of course, it's a D/s relationship, just like the rest of the Wall Street Royals men have with their women. It was hot, but this book just scratched the surface into a D/s relationship. It didn't leave me completely wanting more like Book 1 though, so for that, I'm appreciative of having more graphic and longer scenes included.
If I had a complaint, it's that the last 20-30% of the book was incredibly rushed. So much stuff is crammed into very few chapters, which was the opposite of the first half of the book. The whole in-law part at the end seemed out of place and like it was an afterthought. But other than that, I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for Ty's book next.
Note: my ARC copy had A LOT of grammatical and spelling errors in the last half of the book. I assume it's updated for those who purchase.

REVIEW: 3.5 stars--BIG SWINGING D is the second instalment in Tara Sue Me’s contemporary, adult WALL STREET ROYAL erotic,BDSM, romance series focusing on business partners Ty Bancroft, Isaac Gregory and Lance Braxton. This is Wall Street investor and Dominant Isaac Gregory, and widow/submissive Maggie Warren’s story line. BIG SWINGING D can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Isaac was introduced in book one FOK
Told from dual third person perspectives (Isaac and Maggie) BIG SWINGING D follows the building personal, professional and D/s relationship between Wall Street investor and Dominant Isaac Gregory, and widow/submissive Maggie Warren. Isaac Gregory is desperate to find a replacement for his former PA but everyone has failed to meet expectations. An accidental meeting with Maggie Warren finds Isaac offering Maggie the position as his new PA as he considers offering her the position as his new submissive. What ensues is the quick building D/s relationship and romance between Maggie and Isaac, and the potential fall-out as Maggie’s past seeks revenge for a crime she did not commit.
The relationship between Maggie and Isaac is quick to develop but Isaac doesn’t do relationships outside of ‘The Club’ but Maggie stirs something deep within our story line hero, something he is willing to test if only Maggie were not his new PA. The $ex sense are intimate, erotic and intense.
The ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters include Maggie’s former in-laws Tobias and Edith Warren. We are reintroduced to Isaac’s business partner Ty Bancroft, and Lance’s grandmother Barbara Murphy.
BIG SWINGING D is a story of insta-lust/love; a D/s relationship that quickly grows into something more; a tale of betrayal, secrets, and vengeance. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the romance is lively and spirited; the characters are energetic and charismatic

I was given an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a mix between 50 Shades and Crossfire; a widow has an meet-cute with a rich Wall Street tycoon who is into BDSM. The plot moves quickly and there isn’t as much smut as you’d expect from it. My only compliant is that it ends rather abruptly, I would have liked at least an epilogue to tie it together a little more.
Perfect intro to BDSM lifestyle story
I really enjoyed this book. I have read quite a few books in the past where the heroine first goes to a BDSM club or is interested in the lifestyle and she ends up in a situation that I feel uncomfortable with from the start (especially thinking from the POV of the heroine) but also just me as a reader. However, this story has Maggie meeting Isaac and working as his assistant prior to finding out he is a Dom, she is already attracted to him when he begins to show her “The Club” and the BDSM lifestyle.
It is written in a very sexy way as they communicate about it and get to know each other over a few weeks or months and I really liked the flow of the romance, the steamy sex scenes, and the overall story.
What do a control freak and a free spirit have in common? BDSM! Isaac is a rigid, structured Dom, who encounters Maggie in a most unexpected way. On a whim, Isaac offers Maggie a job as his personal assistant. She acccepts. Surprisingly she's great at it. Isaac can't stop his attraction to Maggie. Once Maggie discovers Isaac is a Dom, all bets are off! She wants to explore, and Isaac offers to introduce her to the scene. I really enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. The ending was a little shocking, but well written. I would have enjoyed an epilogue, just cuz I'm nosey like that!
Light BDSM romance
I’ve read a number of Tara Sue Me’s other books and was excited to find “Big Swing D(BSD)”. Sadly I just don’t think it was as strong as her other stories. I’m not sure if it was the novella length or that she tried to add too many facets to it so none seemed as well developed as I expected.
I did enjoy the first meet between Isaac and Maggie but not sure their chemistry ever really sizzled.
However I do look forward to reading the next book in the Wall Street Royals series and will be go back to read book 1 “FOK” to see if having read that story might have improved my enjoyment of book 2.
I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.
An entertaining book of love, romance and Submission with a surprise at the end. Maggie Warren is a widow and needs to start living by finding a job when she runs right into Isaac Gregory. He's having a bad because he didn't take his Personal Assistant serious when she gave notice. After their run in Isaac offers Maggie the job and it gets very interesting from there.
Being a huge fan of Tara Sue Me I really enjoyed this Stand alone book.
