There were so many feelings wrapped up in this one book. I find myself still reflecting on this one, even days after I’ve finished it. This is probably one of the best romances I’ve ever read with single parents. I could tell immediately that Jenna and Nathan were well loved characters. The children were not just some secondary characters that fell by the wayside, they were a part of the love story too.
I truly love how J. Daniels took the time to reflect on postpartum depression and suicide. I lost both my mother and brother to suicide and whenever it is in a book I brace myself. I take a deep breath and hope that it is talked about in a way that doesn’t make me cringe. Daniels helped Nathan reflect on his wife in a way that made me tear up, the emotions were raw and real.
Nathan and Jenna found a balance. It wasn’t instant love and it wasn’t a perfect love. They earned their happy ending. Two families coming together is always tricky but as Nathan showed us, if you are willing to be open things can happen. Good things.
I loved, LOVED this book. I can’t wait to go back and read the others in the series that I haven’t had the pleasure of reading. I cannot wait!
Thank you Forever Romance for generously sending a copy of Down Too Deep! #partner
It’s been a week since I finished Down Too Deep, and I just want to crawl back into the pages of Jenna and Nate’s world. How soon is too soon for a re-read?! I loved this one so, so much!
While Down Too Deep is the fourth book in J. Daniels Dirty Deeds series, it totally works as a stand alone. I went into it without reading the other three books first, and loved it. Characters from the other books are present, but Down Too Deep is all about Jenna and Nate’s story. And what a story it is.
CW: grief, discussion of suicide and postpartum depression. Nate is still trying to find a balance after his wife dies by suicide following the birth of their daughter. After his parents tell him he needs to find new childcare arrangements, Jenna, fellow single parents to twins, offers to help.
I don’t read a lot of single parent romances, and this is the first one I’ve read where both characters were parents. But believe me when I say, the way they interacted with the kids, AND the kids themselves, were absolutely delightful! All three of the kids were so enjoyable in the story, especially Jenna’s daughter Olivia. She believes in love and happily ever afters so badly, and I felt that. This story is quite emotional, especially with Nate dealing with his wife’s death and how to raise their daughter alone. Jenna is incredibly respectful of Nate’s past and memories of his wife. I truly felt so attached to all the characters here! But the chemistry between Nate and Jenna is SO GOOD! This one is pretty freaking steamy, and I loved it so much. And that epilogue! Seriously one of the most emotional and beautiful epilogues I’ve read in a romance!
Down Too Deep will absolutely be one of my favorite reads of the year. This was a five star read for me and I highly recommend picking up a copy (regardless of if you’ve read any of the other books or not!) Love, love, loved it!
DOWN TOO DEEP is the fourth instalment in J. Daniel’s contemporary, adult DIRTY DEEDS erotic, romance series. This is thirty year old, widower/single father/bar owner Nathan Bell, and twenty-seven year old, single mother/nanny /PA Jenna Savage’s story line. DOWN TOO DEEP can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Nathan and Jenna) DOWN TOO DEEP follows the building relationship between thirty year old, widower/single father/bar owner Nathan Bell, and twenty-seven year old, single mother/nanny /PA Jenna Savage. Approximately two years earlier Nathan Bell’s wife died, and in the ensuing time Nathan has struggled to move on with his life, a life that no longer includes the daughter he barely knows. Giving their son an ultimatum, Nathan’s parents, who have been raising his daughter, demand he take responsibility including finding someone to look after his child. Enter single mother Jenna Savage, the woman with whom Nathan would fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Jenna and Nathan, as well as between one another’s children, and the potential fall-out as Nathan struggles with memories from the past.
Nathan Bell has struggled in the two years since the death of his wife. Barely able to hold it together, Nathan battles between head and heart for the daughter he doesn’t know, and is afraid to love. An accidental meeting with Jenna Savage, finds Nathan instantly attracted to the woman who would become his daughter Marley’s nanny, a woman whose love for both Nathan and Marley is tested on numerous occasions.
Jenna Savage is a single mother to twin eight year olds, twins who have fallen in love with Nathan’s daughter Marley. A family by choice, Nathan and Jenna’s blended relationship finds the children will become collateral damage when Nathan struggles with demons from his past.
The relationship between Nathan and Jenna is one of immediate attraction but Jenna is technically Nathan’s employee, and Nathan battles between head and heart knowing that to possibly push Jenna would mean pushing Jenna out of his daughter’s life. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.
We are introduced to Nathan’s parents, his daughter Marley; Jenna’s brother Brian and Sydney (Four Letter Word #1), Jamie and Tori (Hit the Spot #2) and Dr .Travis McCade (Jamie’s brother), as well as Jenna’s twins Oliver and Olivia.
DOWN TOO DEEP is a story of grief and acceptance; love and understanding; moving forward and letting go. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are colorful, broken, energetic and strong.

OMG, like who else is excited about Nate getting his own book? Cause I freaking squeal when J.Daniels announce that Nate book is coming. I have wanting to read about Nate forever especially since he is a single dad. And we get it in Down Too Deep. But before we dive into Nate story, let's talk about Nate and Jenna persona.
Nate
He is such a adorable man. But he is sometime clueless. You cannot blame him because grief does things that you cannot recognize until you experience it. And I do not wish it for anyone. But back to Nate, he is completely clueless about his face until he hits rock bottom. He is now in charge of his daughter which scary the crap out of him. Who can blame him? But I truly think that it is the best for him. It will wake him up and get back to his values. Plus, he gets to meet someone unexpected,Jenna, which is surprising good for him.
Jenna
She was definitely a surprise. But I freaking like it. She has strong personality especially since she is a single mother. It takes a lot to be a single parent but they have it. And Jenna does. She does everything for her children but she definitely got to step out of her world. And she does when she agree to watch Nate child. It is definitely shock to her but she finds herself falling for Nate. It is not bad but she definitely need to realize that grief does things to people that will be unexpected. She should not take it too personally but she does. I really felt that she should have understood things a little but how can you when you never experience grief before. No one understands until they experience. And she won't but it is learning experience when she is with Nate.
Nate and Jenna
These two are so cute for each other. Like I just knew that they are meant to be. But it is going to take some time for them. They got some baggage between each other that they need to address. Everyone does. No one is free of them. And it is okay if you do as long as you work on them. And they both do. They truly want to be with each other. They kids get along so well that they make a perfect blended family. And I absolutely love their kids. They are so cute especially with their questionnaire.
Five Stars
Excuse me if none of this review makes sense because I think I’m still swooning over here. I loved this book so much that I would totally give it more than five stars if I could. Nathan Bell, you have formally been accepted into the Queen Bee Reads Book Boyfriend Club. Y’all, he wears glasses AND a backward baseball hat. Do I even really need to tell you any more about him? No? Well I will anyway: single dad who lost his wife unexpectedly, former college football player, smart, funny, amazing with kids, and champion flirt. But let’s not forget about Jenna: single mom of twins, fun, smart, gentle, patient, strong, and heart of damn gold. Together they are literally one of the cutest book couples ever. I loved their flirty banter, even when they were awkward. And they were plenty awkward. In the best possible way. And you guys...THE STEAM. Like, Nathan’s glasses fogging up steam. So good. So funny. So damn cute I could die. I LOVED THIS BOOK.
You know when you read THAT book? The one that you just can’t put down? The one you smile while reading and when it gets to THAT emotional point, you feel it in your soul??
This book. This story. This couple.
You seriously need it on your kindle, on your shelf, in your life.
I’m having such a hard time putting into words my love for Down to Deep. This is one of the BEST books I’ve read in 2019 and has made its way to one of my favorite books of all time. Nate and Jenna’s story is one of the most heartfelt, loving and emotional books I’ve read in a long time. This story will resonate with me for a long, long time.
Stories involving single parents can be a challenge and that's usually when only one of the people in a potential relationship has a child. Ms Daniels chose to tackle the idea of a true blended "family" by introducing two people who are both single parents.
Jenna and Nate are characters that I found it easy to like. I especially found myself rooting for Nate to get his life figured out and take healthy steps forward for himself and his daughter. Jenna is a the type of person that I'd want to be friends with and the super awesome mom that I'd almost be intimidated by with her ability to do it all.
Down too Deep is a well written story that takes a slightly rose colored glasses look at moving past grief and starting to really live life again. I appreciated the honesty Nate had about his situation before meeting Jenna and the struggles he continued to have with guilt and fear. The kids; Oliver, Olivia, and Mallory; are little scene stealers and are one of the things that make this story so unique. Ms Daniels gives the kids an equal role in the developing relationship between Jenna and Nate, essentially having the five of them do the work to create a family during the dating phase instead of keeping the romantic and family relationships separate.
The overall sense I had while reading this book was one of healing and hope. These were people who aren't perfect - there were several times both Jenna and Nate made me cringe- but, they are the perfect complement to each other.
This is the fourth book in a series, but reads very well as a stand alone. Characters from previous books appear here in secondary roles and after reading Down Too Deep, I am curious to go back and read the rest of the series.
So this is book four of the Dirty Deeds series, and I was not aware of that fact, my fault as I didn't consult Goodreads before hand, but this does explain the other characters that at times I felt I should know. Nathan shut down after his wife died. All he did was work, and he put the task of taking care of Marley on his parents. When his parents finally decide that Nathan needs that kick in the butt to get him motivated and back into the swing of things, after some failed attempts of taking Marley to work with him, he ends up meeting Jenna.
Jenna is a single mother of twins, and ends up volunteering to help Nathan out with Marley while he is at work. As the weeks go on, Nathan finds that Jenna and her kids being in his home when he gets there is something that he wants. But Nathan is still dealing with the guilt he feels over his wife's death. Will he be able to move on and have something more with Jenna?
This was a good read. Jenna and Nathan give us drama, super hot naughty bits and a few cute moments. I give this 4 stars.

J. Daniels just delivered
❤️a beautiful story of a single dad and his love for his daughter,
❤️a romance and a family in whole totality that just blended so well and with a great substance that made me captivated from beginning until the end
Nathan and Jenna’s story is a compelling journey of two damaged souls brought together by the tragic events that have taken place in their lives.
Down Too Deep had everything that I love to see in a book- angst, love, banter, passion, sexy single father, insanely cute little children , strong single mum, and a storyline that will absolutely capture your heart and stay with you. I highly recommend one clicking and falling in love with not only Jenna and Nathan but also Marley, Olivia and Oliver!
I loved the slow build to their relationship and how Jenna just clicked with Marley.
Jenna took charge of her life the moment she heard she was pregnant and was totally devoted to her twins. She never planned for Nathan to come into her life and even less for Marley to steal her heart.
“Your heart is on the line. Or in your case, three hearts. What’s that saying, you gotta play to win?”
Nathan is more than a single dad who has lost the love of his life, Sadie. He is the ultimate alpha male wrapped up in the sweetest, most caring package. Nathan the man, Nathan the dad, Nathan the lover!
“Get it together, Nathan. Jesus. What was wrong with me? I was jealous, and I had zero fucking right to react this way.”
They both deserve their HEA but we all know that life is not that easy...
The kids in this story plays a key role to the story! Their humour, dialogue and honesty conquered me. I mean Olivia telling Nathan what type of date her mum likes and more and me LOL
J. Daniels, thank you for an amazing story that touched my heart!!
Wonderful. Epic. Just really very sweet and moving. A fabulous addition to my favourite J.Daniel reads.

Author J. Daniels
This damn book. I loved every moment of it. Single parent romances are just so heartwarming, and this one even more so.
J. Daniels does such a good job at actually making the children characters that fuel the story. I fell in love with the kids, which made me so much more invested in the main characters and the interactions they had with each other's children. It was impossible to not to feel for Nathan. And Jenna is just what he needs. There are some ups and downs, but not over the top drama which I also appreciated. I'm so very happy I picked this one up, and now I'm going to add the previous books in the Dirty Deeds series to my TBR!
Thank you to Forever for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Down Too Deep was a fantastic read. I’ve been hoping that Nate would get a book and I’m so glad that he did. There are so many layers to this guy and it was wonderful seeing them all. I had a soft spot for Nate and I enjoyed getting to know him more. I loved Jenna. She was so sweet. She was a good mother, sister, and friend. And the kids! They were awesome. They made the story that much greater. It was heartwarming. It was wonderful seeing Nate and Jenna’s relationship progress throughout the story. I just loved them as a couple-how they interacted with each other and the kids. I also loved seeing the previous couples pop up. The caring friendships they all had was endearing. Overall this was a heartfelt story. I loved it from beginning to end. Great writing, wonderful storyline, and fantastic characters.
Really great! I loved Nate and Jenna’s romance and the kids were so well written! If you are looking for a sweet, low angst romance about loving but flawed characters than definitely pick this one up!
You know that saying about saving the best for last? Well, J. Daniels has delivered on that old adage.
This. Book. Is. Everything.
I have been waiting for Nathan's story since the very beginning. Knowing the situation he's in, it's been torture waiting for his story to unfold. But even without knowing these things about Nathan, I would have fallen for him anyway within the first few chapters. This man will steal your heart. He's an amazing man dealt an impossible situation, going through the motions the only way he knows how. But it's when the tension dissipates, that you realize just how amazing he is. He's sweet, loving, funny, and undeniably sexy. I'm telling you, this guy is going to wreck you.
Jenna is equally amazing. I love her character. She's kind and generous, loyal and loving. She's a beautiful soul, and a perfect answer to what Nathan needs in his life. She's not without her own struggles, but you'd never be able to tell it by watching her. She's tough, resilient, and stronger than she gives herself credit for.
This story is raw, it's real, and it's emotional. You're going to ride a roller coaster with this one. It's cuteness overload, coming home to good friends, and sizzling passionate heat all rolled into one of the best stories I've read all year. I can't rave about this book enough. It is a must-read book, in a must-read series, by a must-read author. In case you couldn't guess, this book gets ALL the stars.
I spent the last two days devouring both Bad for You and Down Too Deep by J. Daniels. I have been a bit slumpy and my girls in the #freaksbetweenthebooksheets chat recommended these highly. Specifically, a bunch of them had read Down Too Deep in the last few weeks and raved. As usual, they didn’t let me down. To be honest, I related a lot more to Down Too Deep and read it in one sitting.
These characters and especially their kids really make this book. I loved Jenna as a mom and her kids were adorable. I was cracking up at all of the family banter and rooting for this couple. What more could you ask for in a romance.? Oh that’s right- steam. And this one has that too! While it is a bit of a slow burn, the payoff is a whole lot of fire emojis.
I have to say, my one “criticism” in this would be that I wish there had been some mention of a trigger warning for suicide in the synopsis or information relating to this book. I have made sure to mention it when recommending. I am not personally triggered by it but do have some friends who appreciated the warning before starting. Overall, a 4 star for me and I look forward to the arrival of the first two books in the series as I have already ordered them.
Thank you so much to #partner @readforeverpub @thatsostelle @grandcentralpub and @netgalley for this heartwarming, steamy, and ever so romantic ARE of Down Too Deep by @authorjdaniels 💗
Synopsis from the publisher: Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell spent nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with little Marley, but he doesn’t know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage throws him a lifeline. A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking care of Nathan’s adorable two-year-old and wants to help Nathan however she can. As the days go by and her attraction to Nathan grows, she can’t help wondering what might happen if they became a family for real. And the closer everyone becomes, the more right it feels.
Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and when hearts – both big and little – are on the line, the only thing scarier than needing Jenna and her kids so much is losing them all.
I absolutely adored this book! It is a book about two genuinely good people who have been hurt in the past getting their second chance, and finding what they had been looking for in each other. There are strong conversations about suicide, depression, and survivors guilt in this book but it is done in a way that I felt brought awareness and incredibly well done. This book also really hits on the issues of dating while also being a single parent, and I loved how the kids and their emotions played an equal role in the relationship between Nathan and Jenna. While this book was definitely super steamy at times 🔥🔥🔥 The love story and relationship between the whole family, kids included is what made this a five star read for me. I’m not gonna lie, I even got rather misty eyed at a scene towards the end💗

An Epic Romance Reviews Top Pick!
Swoony single parent romances are MY JAM, so when I read the blurb for DOWN TOO DEEP by J. Daniels and discovered it’s a DOUBLE single parent romance, I was positively GIDDY with anticipation. So expectations were already pretty high going in, but omg this humorous, heartwarming, and powerfully heartbreaking, story BLEW ME COMPLETELY AWAY!
THE PREMISE:
Nearly two years have passed since the tragic passing of Nathan Bell’s beloved wife, Sadie, and in that time, he has been so buried in mind-numbing grief that he has shirked his most important responsibility of all—caring for his precious baby girl. When his fed-up parents decided to stop picking up the slack and demand he own up to his parental responsibilities the guilt-ridden widower knows their brand of tough love was a long time coming. He knows he let little Marley down and has to step up to the plate. But nevertheless, he is in over his head, overwhelmed with the daunting responsibility of caring for his baby girl. However, reinforcements come in the form of a beautiful and spirited single mom, Jenna, who comes into the restaurant one day with her 8 year old twins and forms an instant attachment to little Marley. And Nathan can hardly believe his stroke of good luck when she volunteers to pitch in and help care for his daughter over the summer.
Jenna proves to be the angel the handsome restaurant owner never expected and this gorgeous, bubbly, kind-hearted woman, who’s fiercely devoted to her own son and daughter yet miraculously finds space in her massive heart for his own motherless little girl, stirs feelings back to life in him that he thought were gone forever. And before long, they find themselves forming their own little unorthodox family unit. Moving on is hard to do, but can these two single parents find true love and a second chance at happiness against ALL odds?
MY MUSINGS:
Gah! I have so much love for DOWN TOO DEEP! While this is the fourth book in the author’s bestselling DIRTY DEEDS series, since this is my first read by the J. Daniels, I can fully attest it can be read as a complete standalone. This beautifully slow burning romance about soul deep healing, second chances, and the powerful bonds of friendship and family just slayed me in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY!
And it is hands down my FAVE single parent book of 2019!
The protagonists are so endearing that they work their way into your morrow from page one. I laughed with them. Cried with them. And just rooted so hard for them to find their path to happiness together. Nathan just broke my heart yet mended it, often in the same breath! He is a dad who has lost his way after the agonizing sudden death of his wife, and SOB, his little girl was the unexpected casualty of war. He buried himself in his work—running his restaurant, Whitecaps to try to mask the crippling pain but of course that only made his heartache and torment all the more acute.
But hope and healing come a knocking in the most unexpected ways! Granted Nathan has a lot of grief and guilt to work through, and making up to do to his daughter for all the time he wasted. And letting go of his memories of his late wife to build a future with Jenna and her kids is not exactly a walk in the park. But he’s no longer on an island unto himself and learns how to lean on his loved ones to get himself through the tough times.
“Different wasn’t bad—I was living it. This new normal…life without Sadie. I didn’t hate it. I didn’t want it either, and if I’d had a choice I’d never have asked for this, but it didn’t feel wrong anymore. It just simply was.”
And sighhhh I had a major girl crush on Jenna! This heroine was THE BOMB--Mom extraordinaire, loyal and selfless friend and confidante, and sweet and doting lover. Her heart is so big and vast she has room in it not only to love Nathan’s little girl but the gruff, bereaved widower himself. She inspires him to be a better man, and father, but in the process fulfills some lifelong dreams for herself and her kids as well. And not only do Nathan and Jenna share a fun, infectious and intensely passionate chemistry that made me giggle like a giddy schoolgirl, but their kids just OWNED me.
I love single parent romances where their kids are not only pivotal to storyline but they steal the show! And such was the case with DOWN TO DEEP. Nate’s baby girl and Jenna’s 8 year old twins, Oliver and Olivia, were just cute as a button. So adorable and charming, funny and precocious and lent so much whimsy, wonderment and sweet poignancy to this heartwarming tale. Together this quintet fills an aching void in each other’s lives and add richness and meaning beyond their wildest dreams. Not only did my ovaries combust in the scenes with Nathan and Marley where they slowly but surely form that crucial daddy/daughter bond (with a little help from Jenna) but also in the scenes where Jenna and Nathan interacted with all their kids as one big happy family. The connection they shared together was EVERYTHING! Of course, when the H&h develop very real feelings for each other things get a bit complicated. But when there’s oodles of love, there’s always a way!
“Falling in love was overwhelmingly scary. It was also becoming the easiest thing I had ever done.”
I really can’t gush enough about this tender-hearted, tantalizing romance—the writing is captivating, the pace is pitch perfect, the sex molten hot, and the warm fuzzy feels made me all MELTY inside. I found myself crying my way through many scenes, but ultimately my heart was so full of hope and buoyancy throughout it nearly burst at the seams! As for the HEA ending? It had me swooning like crazy!
BOTTOM LINE:
DOWN TO DEEP is an unforgettable, feel-good romance about finding the strength to move on from the past to forge a beautiful new future brimming with ENDLESS possibilities! The immensely talented J. Daniels is now a new fave of mine and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
A MUST READ!
4.5 stars
So many feels for Down Too Deep by J.Daniels.
The storyline is well written, emotional, sweet and all the characters touched my heart.
From the first page my interest was captured, watching both Nathan/Nate and Jenna struggle with life and everything they had going on touched me.
Nate and Jenna are likable, relatable characters that I easily connected with. They made me smile, they made me cry, and they made me swoon. I enjoyed their friendship, their honesty and I loved how Jenna was able to help Nate work through his grief and open his heart to love again.
I loved how their families came together and made one big happy home.
Down Too Deep is a beautiful, heartfelt read and a wonderful addition to the Dirty Deeds series.

This is the first book I have read by J. Daniels, and I am so glad that it was. It gave me such good insight into her writing style and I think that these characters were absolutely perfect for me to dip my toes into. As a parent I absolutely love reading romances with parents in them because lets be honest it feels good to be seen in a book.
Jenna was almost a perfect character for me, I loved how she was with the kids and how she helped Nathan with his daughter.
Nathan was just super swoony, such a good dad, and just in general a good person.
The only issue i had with this though was that there seemed to be a whole lot of focus on their relationships with the kids and how they focused on the kids, versus the amount of time spent on building their relationship. Though I know that as parents the kids come first, I think I would have liked a little more of their relationship.
Over all though as someone who hasn't read any of the other books in this series I have to say that I didn't in any way feel confused going into it, so that is a big plus. I plan on picking up the other books eventually. Overall it was a good experience.
“We love you too, you know? That’s why we like you so much.”
I grinned. “You like me because you love me?”
“Yes.”
“I like your logic.”
I don’t think I can completely put into words how much I loved Jenna and Nathan’s story! It was true perfection which had me laughing one moment and teary eyed the next. So many feels! Their story had it all, friends to lovers, single parents, and the slow burnnnnnn! You know I’m a sucker for slow burns.
“It’s terrifying, isn’t it?”
“What?”
“Loving someone this much.”
Jenna Savage is such a selfless soul. As a single mother she gives her all to her children, but also to those around her and especially those she loves and cares about. I adored her from the moment I met her. She has been through so much and has made her children her top priority. Her love for them is amazingly beautiful and I couldn’t help but identify with her on so many levels.
“Being with you, it became something I’ve never felt before. I couldn’t understand it at first. I didn’t know it could be like this. But it’s you, and it’s your kids...it’s us together, all of us. I need it.”
Nathan Bell is broken and hurting after the death of his wife. He’s spent two years drowning himself in work and unable to face his daughter- who he has left in the care of his parents. I instantly fell in love with Nathan, with his big heart and his determination to become a better version of himself.
Jenna and Nathan had the perfect relationship. From growing comfortable with each other, to friends, and eventually falling in love. This story unfolds in such a sweet way. Even though they have undeniable chemistry (those steamy scenes will prove it) since the moment they meet, they take it slow and we watch them fall in love with each other and most importantly with their children. Jenna shows Nathan how to love in a way he never knew existed.
“I really like Nate, Mama. So, so much. These feelings feel too big for me.”
I laughed and cried with this story. I felt so connected to the characters and the children, THE CHILDREN! It was so beautiful to see how important the children were to this story. It made my heart so happy to see how two single parents could come together and fall in love with EVERYTHING that the other was made of.
*A huge thanks to Wildfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an eARC for review. All thoughts are my own.*
This is my first book by J. Daniels, and right now I'm wondering where I have been!! All of my romance loving friends have been raving about this book, so I had to jump on the bandwagon. I am seriously so glad that I did!! You know it is real when I am burying under stacks and stacks of unread ARCs and read one the week it comes out. For those who have also not read this series, each book can definitely be read as a standalone.
I am on a roll with books with well written chemistry. The tension and chemistry between Nathan Bell and Jenna Savage was on point. And all the children were well written and well developed too. Sometimes the children in romance books can be throw away characters. I adored all their of their kids.
Nathan Bell is a single dad with a little girl, grieving the death of his late wife. After a couple of years of his parents taking care of his daughter after his wife's death they have decided it's time for him to take on more responsibility. But it is quickly apparent that it is too much for him to handle with his busy job at the restaurant. Jenna steps in and watches her for the summer along with her son and daughter.
The slow build of their relationship was perfect. I love how they started to slowly notice each other, the more time they spent together. Great book! I will have to go back and read the others in the series to meet the reast of the Savage family!
