Delightful book to read to your daughter or granddaughters. Nosey Nancy is full of fun and adventure .
Lovely book. My son loved me reading it to him. The targeted audience. It was easy to read and well written
This is an adorable book to help children not be so afraid of the doctor and or a procedure, The text is written to teach the reader new words that are associated with the doctor. I also just love the fact that the book is written by a Doctor too.
Received an ARC from Netgalley. Wonderful children book. Very well written with detail and some illustrations and a glossary at the end of the book to explain the medical terms. Nancy is a kid that children can relate to. Dr. Curtin did a fantastic job. Enjoy! 📚
Nancy Marsh has habitual nosebleeds and needs to have an epistaxis procedure to fix it. That’s scary for a child.
This story walks Nancy through her journey of her doctor appointments, admitting, procedure with caring doctors and nurses (including anesthesia) and recovery.
As a mother of an asthma child, we have frequent trips to the ER. Not many admissions to the hospital, but hours spent in the ER nonetheless. I haven’t come across a book that spent this much time describing pre, and post events of a surgical event- just the surgeries themselves. Thank you for an honest read.
*thank you to Netgalley, Lanier Press and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
2 stars.
Something felt off about this book and I can't put my finger on it. It's like there were alot of holes in the story and the main points of it didn't connect well together. One part of it was about how the siblings got along together in a typical older sister, younger sister way, which was fine and pretty believable. Then there was how Nancy gets nosebleeds, which was also fine. The third thing was Nancy having outpatient surgery. The 3 just didn't blend right. I did like how much detail was in the illustrations though. Sadly this book is a miss from me.
