A Cowboy’s Salvation is first in Megan Ryder’s new Redemption Ranch series and is a Montana enemies of sorts to lovers story. Our heroine, Tara Rawlings, has spent much of her youth at boarding school on the west coast, pushed away by her father and resenting West Morgan and his “brothers” Chase and Ty, who are all boys that her father fostered. She’s always thought that he cared more about them than her and they’ve always regarded her as a spoiled princess. When Tara’s father dies and leaves the ranch to all four of them sparks fly, particularly between Tara and West, who find the attraction between them all kinds of inconvenient.
This story is well paced and interesting as well as providing the sort of escapism that cowboy in gorgeous countryside stories always do for me. I loved getting to know these two and watching them dance around each other as they slowly came to the understanding that together they could really make things work for the ranch and for their unconventional family.

This was an interesting story. I was a little perplexed by Tara at first. She first seemed very brash to me. Then after finding out about her inheritance, she was wounded that the ranch was to be split with the foster boys (now men) that her father took in. Her thoughts turn to his rejection of her not being able to care for the ranch. Earlier though, she planned on selling the ranch. That seemed to be a great conflict for me. Tara seemed like the perfect spoiled princess. She wondered where the money went that they would need to pay the inheritance taxes. Unfortunately, West informs her it wasn’t from bad investments but her spending ways (expensive clothes and many vacations), while they had to sacrifice to pay for it.

It took me some time to warm up to Tara. Having a dual POV really helped here. As the pages flew by, more of Tara was revealed. Her pain and grief were becoming more evident. The past had a firm grip on her. As she and West grew closer together, you could see the past was slowly giving way to a wonderful relationship. A healing one.

I was thoroughly engrossed in this story. I eagerly look forward to the rest of this series. Getting to see Chase and Ty in an in-depth way and finding their HEAs will keep me coming back. I applaud the author’s work here. Growing up in a loving family and not having the background that the characters here have, the plot was written in a way that I really felt for all of them. GREAT JOB!

This book is not a sweet, clean romance. There are scenes that many would not appreciate. I highly recommend this story for anyone over the age of 18.

A story where Tara Rawlings was sent away by her father soon after her mother died. Having not come back to the families ranch in years and feeling like her father never wanted her having sent her away and taking in foster boys soon after. She gets a call from West her foster brother that her father has passed. Going out to the ranch expecting to have to go through things and take care of the ranch she is taken back when she learns that he gave all four of them equal shares. Now really feeling like she did not belong to her father she still must find a way to help save the ranch. Coming up with a plan seems good and it is put into the works along with her and West moving along to what she thinks to be a couple. She is ripped apart when she awakes one morning to find him gone, and her meetings all canceled. No note, just her other two foster brothers delivering his message which she hears and packs up and leaves. Not having either drive her to the airport but leave. Now when he returns from his weeklong whatever his two brothers give him a rashen of his own horse manure. Now he must decide does he go after the girl or stay miserable? It does help him when he finds her father’s notebook. A good story.

Loved this story of a ranch where three foster boys were raised but the daughter of the Rancher was not.
This was a heart tugging story keeping you guessing would there be a HEA or not?
Of course I will recommend to friends with a warning they will probably really be wanting to read the next two books to know how it works out for the other two foster boys.

A story of second chances. Tara has returned home after the death of her father, only to find out that she has to share the ranch with the foster boys that were helping on the ranch. West has been tossed from foster home to foster home through his young years and has finally found home on the ranch, but now he has the fight on his life to save it. As they but heads they soon can't deny the chemistry between them.

This book brought out so many emotions, but with unhappy childhoods, both stubborn attitudes and both with trust issues. They both learned to grow from their mistakes and find happiness in the end. I highly recommend this story. So looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This series is very well named as the Redemption Ranch because it brings so many aspects of this first, world building Romance into play in the reader’s mind. Yes, the Rawlings Ranch was indeed a place of redemption for West, and his foster brothers Chase and Ty. But it was also the place where the owner’s daughter, Tara, felt least wanted perhaps even pushed aside as the teen boys arrived. Unknown to Tara her father had made it abundantly clear to the boys that his daughter was off-limits and a fast ticket off of the ranch if they disobeyed him on that. Unfortunately, her mother’s hatred for the ranch soon moved into Tara’s head as well when she was sent off to boarding school and the foster teens took on more responsibility at the ranch. She made her life far away from home and if not happy was at least content building her company with a friend, now divorced and finding her own way in life. All that will change in a heartbeat – and truths she never knew may change her mind on exactly where home really is.

A COWBOY’S SALVATION grabbed hold of my emotions and never let go until the ending. And what a circle of emotions they were. I understood where Tara and West were in their mindset about each other, yet I wish Tara could have seen the past with an adult’s eyes sooner then she might have seen why her father did some of the things that hurt her the most. There were moments when I could have smacked West upside the head for the truly stupid decisions he made. Watching him grovel afterward was quite satisfying. Their attraction to each other was never in doubt since it began years ago, but they had to figure out how to overcome their past, and their preconceived ideas about that past in order to work toward a future for not only the ranch but for themselves as well. I was easily caught up in their story and now I’m hooked on the series as I wait for Chase and Ty to find their happily ever after loves, too. If you enjoy a Romance with layers, the couple’s past to get beyond and characters that are as real as your next door neighbors, then A COWBOY’S SALVATION is a book you’ll want to pick up – soon.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Tara and West’s love story in A Cowboy’s Salvation by Megan Ryder, book one in her Redemption Ranch series, reminds us that there is more than one way to define home and family. Tara Rawlings didn’t understand why her father sent her away to boarding school after the death of her mother. True, he cared more about the ranch than her or her mother, but the ranch was home. He even seemed to replace her with those boys he fostered. She never did move back, at least until the death of her father. It’s at that point she discovers that her birthright is not just hers, only a fourth, and it is in danger of having to be sold off to pay taxes. West Morgan grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home until he landed at the Rawlings Ranch. He not only found a home but also a family. When his mentor dies and leaves the property divided between his two foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara, the shaky future he built is threatened. West Morgan knows all about second chances. After bouncing from foster home to foster home, he finally landed at the Rawlings Ranch as a teenager. There he found a home, something he’d never thought possible. Now an adult, he realizes he’s been given much more: a family and, most importantly, peace. But when his mentor dies leaves the property divided among his foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara Rawlings, the fragile future he’s built for himself is threatened. The only way to save the ranch is with Tara and West working together to find some ways to bring in paying visitors; fishermen, hunters, a spa, or even a B&B. Hopefully, they can work together without killing each or maybe find a forever love. The attraction between Tara and West is electric and off the charts. The air sizzles when they are in the same space.

There is definitely a fine line between love and hate and one’s family is not just by blood but often the family one creates. This is a theme that runs through the story. It’s also an important reminder in life. As Tara and West save the ranch they discover much about who they truly are as well as what is important in life.

Ms. Ryder wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Tara and West a chance to have forever love and be a family. I highly recommend A Cowboy’s Salvation to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

A COWBOY'S SALVATION by Megan Ryder is a wonderful story with romance, second chances and family! West and his brothers are heartbreaking and resilient. Tara needed to be wanted. I look forward to more books from this series. Definitely a five 🌟read!

Tara is forced to come home and face the demons of her past and present. I liked that she had this strong head on her and she really seems to take everything in stride. I was however not a huge fan of West I kind of had a love/hate relationship with him. I did like Ty and Chase they always seem to be your typical little brothers who like to pick on the older one. The story did get to me emotionally because with everything Tara faced my heart just broke for her. There is some cursing and sex in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. Over all I enjoyed reading about these fun characters. I hope that Ty and Chase find their happily ever afters.

This book is a story of misconceptions & second chances. Tara has come back to the ranch after her father passed away. The townspeople have already judged her & found her lacking since she hasn’t visited lately. West & the other foster boys call her the “Princess” because they felt she had it all - a terrific father & a fantastic home - & threw it all away. West & Tara have a lot to learn about each other.

I enjoyed this story because it really shows the importance of getting to know all about someone before you judge them. West thought Tara voluntarily left the ranch behind & that wasn’t the case at the beginning. Tara thought West & the others replaced her in her dad’s life while it was just what he was familiar with, other guys. As West grew to learn the truth about Tara & her life, he began to see how everyone judging her was affecting her. Did it make a difference? Did their chemistry enable them to get together or will her ex come back into her life?

Tara Rawlings’s father dies. She has been a mostly absent daughter but expects to receive her legacy: the ranch. Seems her father had other ideas and split the ranch four ways: amongst her and the three foster boys (now men) that her took in years ago. Expect arguments, town shunning for Tara, a hero and lots of mixed up emotions and messages.
It is a terrific push me-pull you romance because of all the misinterpretations and misunderstandings that Tara feels from her father’s seeming rejection of her and of her right to the family ranch.

Tara felt unloved by her father. This was reinforced when he took in three foster boys and treated them as his own and her as a stranger. Now years later, when she has been though her own personal failure, she returns to the ranch for her father's funeral. West noticed Tara when he was a teen but staying away from her had been part of the deal for all three of the boys. Now he sees her as a grown up version of the spoiled princess she always was. When she comes to claim her legacy and the ranch things do not work out as she expected. Now they will have to work together to save the ranch or sell it. She wants to sell and get back to her life in California, they want to save it. They both carry emotional baggage and misconceptions about the other. Can two damaged souls find peace and happiness in each others arms? Great emotional read.

A heart-warming and promising start to a new series! When Tara Rawlings goes home after her fathers death, she discovers the family ranch was left equally to her and her foster brothers. Both sides have viewed the other in the wrong light while growing up, making them butt heads now. I loved this story and it's genuine message of "don't judge a book by it's cover", which everyone needs reminded of once in a while. I can't wait for the next book in the Redemption Ranch series!

A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Tara and her feelings regarding the life in Montana and how she deals with it all. West got a break as a teen and went to live on the ranch in Montana and how he deals with growing up there. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series and this being a standalone read doesn't need to be read before the next one comes out. It is just a great start to the series.

West Morgan came to the Double R Ranch as a teenager and was given a second chance at life by the owner, Douglas Rawlings, along with other troubled teens. The biggest rule that Douglas has was to stay away from his daughter, Tara.

Tara Rawlings had always hated the Double R Ranch that was her home. Her mother hated being there up until she got sick and died and all her father cared about was the ranch, and not her. Shortly after her mom's death, her dad sent Tara away to boarding school. When she would come back for school breaks, every one ignored her so it wasn't surprising that when Tara left for college, she never came back. Now that Tara's life was in San Francisco she didn't make it back to Montana much. Her ex-husband hated the place and it only brought sad memories back for Tara. After Tara's divorce the past year has been really hard on her and she hadn't actually talked to her father much so when she received word that he had passed away Tara was riddled with guilt.

Tara decides that she needs to head back to Montana for her father's funeral and to settle the estate. Of course the first person Tara sees is West, the guy she always hated because he got all of her dad's attention while at the same was always attracted to him. At first West, Ty and Chase are all hesitant around Tara. They never understood why she stayed away but slowly they start to come around. When the reading of the will takes place everyone is surprised to find out that Douglas left everything to Tara, West, Chase and Ty equally. Tara also finds out that the ranch is having some financial problems. As Tara and West start to spend more time together to save the ranch, it starts to get harder to not give in to their attraction....until finally they don't! Just when it looks like Tara and West are finally going to get a happy ending, past insecurities come back to haunt them until finally they both realize what they must each do.

I really enjoyed Tara and West. They both had such baggage from their pasts that it hurting them moving forward in their futures. I also can't wait to read the other's stories!

"This is a good story that I found to be well written.

The story has a really nice flow to it and I was happy to relax and be absorbed by the plot for a few hours. I thought that the characters were well developed and they all worked well together, they were true to life and I enjoyed getting to know them.

It is 4 stars from me for this one, I thoroughly enjoyed it - highly recommended!"
