This book is extremely comprehensive and an excellent step by step guide for anyone seeking a path to enlightenment. Some of the topics covered include, setting up a daily routine and how to incorporate meditation into your schedule (even if you have children), It covers setting up an alter, creating a sacred space for meditation, breathing, covers levels for beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners, different meditations and how to stay on track and so much more. It includes a lovely bonus of a link to guided meditations for all levels of practice. This book is easy to read and follow along with in depth explanation on many questions you may have. If you've ever wanted a detailed guide to buddhist mediations, look no more, this is the only book you'll need.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book caught me early in chapter one when the author explained that in order to be successful at meditating, we must first hear teachings and think deeply about them. We must first prepare our minds.

This book gave me a new way of thinking about meditation. I had previously considered it to be a practice of clearing the mind, but Chodron made me realize it can actually be about giving the mind something to focus on that will help me live and serve others better.

I have a feeling I'm going to want to sit with this book more and underline some passages. I plan to buy the physical book when it comes out.

"Guided Buddhist Meditations" is a nice reprint of a casual guide. This is a great book for beginners. I'll recommend this one.

Guided Buddhist Meditations is a quick informative book. This would be great for beginners or for seasoned people who want a refresher. Well written and easy to read.

I blew thru this because it was well-written, an easy read, and relatively short. Great summary of many Buddhism beliefs and practices, and of course guidelines for meditation and breathing. I have the definite disadvantage of not having the recordings that accompany the book, but it still has definite value on its' own. Recommended for virtually any meditator interested in a Buddhist approach and for those that want to learn more about Buddhism.

I really appreciate ARC for review!! You can always count on Shambhala for great content.
