The words, “Best Friends Forever” really gives you a sense of a lifelong friendship that has endure struggles and challenges and that one special person having your back. But what if your friendship was not like that? What if your friends was long driven by manipulation and control? What if you did not see a way out of this relationship? What if you were not really sure you wanted out? For so long your best friend was all you had, and the thought of not having her was just as hard as maintaining the relationship.
Anna was a perfect wife, mother, and had found success in her job. But when she ends up dead, will Vicky keep her secrets? Will Vicky step in to help David cope with not having Anna anymore? Will Vicky be able to provide comfort to Anna’s 2 children? David struggling with his grief needs to find out what really happened to Anna. All the questions lead to Vicky and he wants answers. What will Vicky do? She could tell David the truth and crush him or she could take her and Anna’s secrets to grave.
This was an interesting story that kept you guess to the very end. I was thankful to receive and advanced copy to read and I enjoyed the story.

Anna and Vicky have been best friends since childhood. They've shared secrets that they wouldn't want anyone else to know. Vicky is not a very nice person and she has no qualms in holding things over Anna's head. When Anna is killed in a car accident, Vicky sees this as the idea opportunity to take over Anna's life, husband and children.

I can honestly say that I did not like any of the characters in this book and if that was the authors intension, she has done a good job. The characters did not like each other either ut they also could not be apart from each other. The plot is interesting but not gripping. The ending was a little disappointing. I still managed to enjoy this story though.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Aria and the author Dawn Goodwin for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I always remember years ago hearing someone say ‘She is my best friend, I hate her’! Made me smile/grimace then and still does but if ever a saying fit a book then its this one!
Meet Anna

Perfect
Slim
Wonderful Career
Eager to please hubby
Adoring Kids
Fab House
Complete Narcissist

Meet Vicky
None of the above

Sonehow they have been bezzies for decades, Vicky always grateful, the underling, desperate for attention and Anna generally treating her with contempt, at times bullying yet always with just the right amount of ‘love’ to keep Vicky

Until Anna dies
And everything Anna had is up for grabs......but Vicky isent devious enough to pull it off, is she?

And that’s just part of this fab thriller where past secrets are the order of the day,,resentment is powerful and things are never quite as they seem
Told in the past and present with a fascinating insight into how Vicky was manipulated by Anna and just how nasty Anna was the story seems to be heading to a crux that some of us readers will think maybe we have been to before......and then its all change, all bet’s off and full throttle ahead as the story goes up a few gears and, well, it would ruin it if I was to go on!
Vicky writes letters to Anna ( in the present ) and not sure why but am not usually a fan of this but these were fascinating and very very well done
A really surprising ending that brought to a close this great, well written, exciting read

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was pretty suspenseful. There were times that I was not sure what was going to happen next.

Was Vicky the one responsible for Anna's death? Was her husband? Does Vicky want to encroach on David and his kid's life because she was jealous of Anna?

Is Anna innocent in all of this????

This would be a good read for anyone that likes twist, turns, and to keep on guessing!

I simply could not get into this book. I think it needs one more round of light editing. I could not connect with the characters or story.

Best Friends Forever by Dawn Goodwin asks the question, Have you ever wanted to kill your best friend? For me, that’s a strong NO but for some people, its a yes.

Anna was the perfect wife. Perfect mother. Perfect woman. And now she’s dead. Leaving behind her husband, David, and two young children their lives will never be the same. But Vicky will make sure life goes on…

These two women have been best friends forever, a lifetime of secrets lies between them and now Vicky is ready to step up into Anna’s perfect shoes. But not everything is as it seems and as David begins to question Vicky’s motives for walking into his life things might just get a little murderous.

The question on everyone’s lips is, who killed Anna? And what actually happened on the night she died?

Secrets and lies, a toxic relationship between friends…what could possibly go wrong? When Anna dies, Vicky swoops in and takes over. That doesn’t mean she killed her friend does it? I love a thriller like this one! Keeps you guessing and reading.

Its only ZERO DOLLARS if you have Kindle Unlimited. Out on August 15.

OMG I am still reeling from the shock ending no one would see coming. It actually almost knocked me of my feet. Two school friends came together and literally became best friends. Although it was a turbulent relationship in many ways it was toxic, more for Vicky than Anne. It’s a absolutely blast of a book, like s rocket taking off that comes back to earth with such a bang, no wonder it’s a explosive book. One you definitely can not put down. I have read some good books lately. Yet this one just has to take the number one slot. Not just for this year I think for years really. I never thought I would say that about someone’s book, who have never read any other book by this Author. We all have a favourites. Yet this book has knocked every other book back a place. Also it’s also gone to my number one author at the moment. Honestly it’s a one of the best books I have read in years. I will most definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author. I can only hope her other books are as good. I really am still trying to pick myself up from ? Well not just the ending but truthfully, honestly if you never read another book ever again YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ONE. I KNOW THIS BOOK HAS ACTUALLY NOW SPOILT ME, I CAN NOT IMAGINE FOR A SECOND ANY OTHER BOOK WILL BE ON PAR WITH THIS ONE. OF A SIMILAR NATURE.
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING 😉

One twisted tale which held me in its clutches without giving me a break. Whew!! Anna and Vicky were best friends from school days. Anna married David had two kids lived a happy life, and then died in a car accident. Who killed her? How did the accident occur. Vicky entered her home, took over Anna's duties, both kids and husband. And wrote letters filled with secrets of the past to dead friend Anna.

Dawn Goodwin has done it again, written a shivery tale where the unspoken words told a different tale. I could read between the lines to understand the aura that the author had created. The characters were all unlikable, but there was a strange friction between them, almost an addiction if you could say. They didn't like each other but couldn't stay away. I loved this weird atmosphere as it is in darkness that secrets fermented and soon covered everything with a slimy surface.

The characters had moments of darkness and light, but all of them played with fire. There are times when one cannot stop looking at fire, it is hypnotic. The same happened to me while reading this. Dawn's words hypnotized me and put me in a trance where all I knew was getting to the main reveal.

Was it all worth it? Me reading the book - YES! The characters - not so much!! Read the book to understand this line.

Well I can’t help but feel ‘Best Fiends Forever’ would be a better title for this as no one needs friends like Anna and Vicky. It is very difficult to see what anyone liked about toxic Anna, including her husband David, however it is easy to see how someone with such little self esteem as Vicky would cling to the nearest thing she has to kindness even if she is aware of Anna’s flaws. I fully understand Anna and Vicky’s relationship as it is revealed over the book however I do struggle to understand Anna and David’s, reading between the lines they spent little time together either as a couple or a family and he just accepted that’s how it was. I can’t fully work out Vicky’s motives in moving in a helping out however I can understand David’s concerns and fears and reading parts from his perspective definitely increased the suspense. This does keep you wondering what Vicky’s part was in this and what really did cause Anna’s death but for me the ending was a touch flat.

Many thanks to Dawn Goodwin and Aria for the opportunity to read and review this book. Based on the complexities of friendship this book will have you hooked from the first page. Best Friends Forever follows the friendship of two girls Anna and Vicky, from childhood to womanhood. Anna the dominant female and Vicky her loyal follower. Anna dies in a tragic car accident and Vicky is feeling all sorts of emotions. Vicky has always wanted to be like Anna, dress like her , have the same body shape as her yet at some level Vicky really dislikes Anna After all only she knows that Anna is a bitch . Did she play a part in Anna's death. This one you won't be able to put down.

This book almost immediately pulled me in! Vicky's best friend, Anna, has died, leaving a distraught husband and two adorable, but sad, children. Vicky steps in to help David and the kids. We begin to learn that Anna was not the sweet, loving wife and mother everyone believed she was. But whose version of Anna is accurate? Great suspense in this one!

Best friends, one a leader and one a follower. Both have their secrets and theirs is a strange relationship. There are a lot of twists to this book and I really enjoyed reading it, had a hard time putting it down.

Compulsive reading, this is an addictive suspenseful psychological thriller like no other.

The plot is unpredictable with lots of twists and turns along with solid engaging characters.
There is also a sense of dread as the story deals with the deep and dark corners of the human psych.

I very much enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone!

A great read, fast paced and addictive. You can't help but want to know more about Anna, Vicky and their past. For me, other than the 2 children, none of the characters were likeable - yet somehow, it worked! I loved to loath them and the things they did/had done, and found myself tearing through the story to find out what had happened. A dark read, but a great thriller.
