The newest book in the Sanctuary Sound series! Peyton is on a book tour to promote her memoir her brother Logan has written and photographed of her journey with breast cancer. She travels to Europe with her PR whiz Mitch - a very disciplined man who has put his firm on the line for this book tour to be successful and generate big sales. So opposites attract but they have many obstacles to overcome. And that is the magic of Jamie Beck to make that happen!
This review is my honest opinion in exchange for an ARC from Netgalley and Jamie Beck!
I love the Sanctuary Sound Series. I loved reading about Steffi, Claire, and Peyton- and Peyton seemed like the perfect choice to bring their stories full circle.
It is definitely the heaviest of this series as Peyton is a breast cancer survivor and is going on a book tour for her memoir her and her brother Logan composed while she was going through treatment. I have never had cancer or a chronic illness, but to me the author's intentions seemed to be in the right place and all of Peyton's struggles were portrayed honestly and delicately. I hope this isn't the end of the SS series because I've really enjoyed it!
Thank you to Montlake Romance and Netgalley for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The Wonder of Now is the third book in Jamie Beck's Sanctuary Sound series. We get the story of Peyton, a breast cancer survivor, and Mitch, Peyton's PR rep.
This book was definitely high on emotions. I enjoyed reading how Peyton's cancer impacted her both physically and mentally. My favorite part of the book was Mitch. He was always himself and I thought he was very good for Peyton.
This story was a little heavier than I usually read but I enjoyed it all the same. I definitely recommend this book and the whole Sanctuary Sound series. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
THE WONDER OF NOW is an emotional, uplifting read. Jamie Beck gives readers a heartfelt story about breast cancer survivor of one year, Peyton Prescott, and her journey to once again engage in a normal life, to become a more selfless person and to not be defined by her cancer. Her journey is fraught with challenges giving her pause and complicating many of the decisions she needs to be making.
The author does not sugarcoat the depth of Peyton's trials, tribulations, successes and failures. Ms Beck presents an honest, authentic, caring, easy to connect with portrait of what it could be like for others who are on the same journey as Peyton. Being a cancer survivor, too, I appreciated the author's approach.
Throughout the story, the readers will encounter a few surprises which increase the intensity of the plot and ones book lovers will find intriguing. These surprises are one of the aspects of Jamie Beck's writing I sincerely prize!
If I were able to award an unlimited star rating to THE WONDER OF NOW, I would! Its worthiness is proven from the opening chapter through the epilogue. Ms Beck deserves a resounding ovation for this masterpiece!
I was selected to receive an early copy of this book from NetGalley and the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book was amazingly written and takes the reader on an emotional ride. Peyton has recently gone through a breast cancer diagnosis and everything that goes with it. Her brother (Logan) and her documented the experience in a memoir - this process is captured in the previous book
The Promise of Us. In this book, it is time for Peyton and Logan to promote their work. A wonderful relationship develops between Peyton and her publicist.
I absolutely loved this book but can see how it may be difficult for some readers to handle if they are going through a cancer scare - but hopefully they can see through to the uplifting and powerful message of true love and acceptance. The scene in chapter 20 between Claire and Mitch left me bawling my eyes out! Oh, the emotional feels!!!!
Jamie Beck is an amazing Word Smith that writes books that you will want to read over and over again!
This is a very emotional book, but is well done and offers hope about moving on after breast cancer. Mitchell is her PR man, but becomes so much more. Heartfelt, heartbreaking at times, and heartwarming.
I received an ARC from netgallery and am providing this honest review.
I have been a very big fan of this series since it began. This book started a bit slow but I found it to be quite enlightening with all the psychological aspects that cancer caused for Peyton. Mitch was my favorite in this particular story because he stayed true to himself and strong enough for Peyton when she seemed to drift. I was hoping there would be a little more drama with the blogger that wanted to trash Peyton's story to add a little more excitement and bring the story out of all the grief that was happening within Peyton. I'm glad the three books tied in together with everyone being happy in the end.
3.5 Stars
This is a challenging book taking a very real look at breast cancer and how dealing with it, having the treatments and the outcome affects all parts of one's life. Jamie Beck has taken this idea and combined it with a man who needs a successful book launch for his new PR firm. This puts our gal in the whirlwind of European and US promotions for the memoir.
We are there when these two have to learn how to compromise and be open to each other.
Overall a very fine story.
The story of Peyton and Mitch.
Peyton was encourged by her brother to write a memoir about her battle with breast cancer. She is about to start the book tour promoting the book in Europe. Mitch is travelling with her and handling the PR. There is a connection between them, but they eachhave their own issues so will they get past them and get together?
Parts of the book are very emotional, but a good read overall.
After surviving breast cancer, Peyton wants nothing to do with memories of her fight for her life. One problem however; she has written a memoir with her brother on just that hated topic and her upcoming book tour will sling her right back into the mist of those memories along with a PR that is hard pressed to keep their attraction at arms length.
Heartfelt and romantic look at life after cancer and surviving what comes next.
The Wonder of Now is such a good book. Great plot and believable characters. ms. beck has written another winner. My thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
This is the final book in the Sanctuary Sound trilogy. It's sort of a standalone, but it would really be smart to read the first two first so that you can better understand the interrelationships between the female lead character and her friends.
This is Peyton's story, about her journey with breast cancer. Her brother Logan decides to make a pictorial memoir of her experiences, and this book covers the book promotion tour, first in Europe and then in the States. She undertakes the first part alone, with just the publisher, Mitch. He is at first extremely stand-offish but totally overwhelmed by Peyton, who comes from a totally different background and social strata; she works hard to get him to loosen up and then when he tells her of his background and his experience with his father's cancer, all of the barriers fall except the one where she doesn't feel worthy of a man -- all due to an ex who left her the day she was diagnosed. An ex who'd been seriously dating her best friend, and soon to be sister-in-law Claire, at the same time. Yeah, just a bit messed up, right?
This story seemed very realistic to me. All the emotions are there, and despite her upbringing Peyton is a real person.

Wonderful book. I just simply loved it. I liked this one the best out of the previous two in the series! Lovely characters. Engaging banters. Seriously chemistry to the mix and boom we have a winner here. The author has done it again! Thank you netgalley and the publishers for the chance to review it! Lovely book. Definately recommend it! Happy reading...xoxo.
The Wonder of Now is book three in the Sanctuary Sound series but it is completely self contained. You won’t be lost if you don’t read the first two books but you will miss some subtle nuances. This is Peyton’s book about her journey to survive breast cancer, find her way back into the circle of friends & how to embrace tomorrow instead of living in the past. Ms. Beck has managed yet again to take a subject that could turn a story dark & bring it up to the light. She shows Peyton coming to terms with her life, disease, old & new romance & the future. This is a story that will cause you to embrace life & your future. I loved be the way Logan encourages Peyton to embrace the changes in her life & appearance and put it on paper. It took courage for Peyton to move past her vanity to show the horror of her battle. Mitchell has his own issues to get past, although they aren’t as complex as Peyton’s. I enjoyed that in the course of the press tour they were each able to grow & see the other’s side. This was a true joy to read.
Wow this book for me was such an emotional read. This was the third book in this series and this book is about Peyton and Mitch. I have been waiting for Peyton’s book. Jamie Beck did not disappoint me. I loved the story line and the character that Jamie Beck picked out for Peyton’s love interest he was the perfect match for her. The story was so heartwarming and at the same time it had just the right amount of drama to keep you turning the pages. This book is a must read! Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
I've requested and granted the ARC from NetGalley. This series is about a Lilac Lane League, a trio of best girlfriends, who have gone through so much in their lives, heartbreaks, tragedies, financial hardship, betrayals, and sickness. This book is a romance between Peyton Prescott, a woman who grew up with a silver spoon, a trust fund baby with a literary legendary great grandfather, and Mitchell Mathis, a hardworking, determined and responsible publisher who grew up in a complete opposite environment from Peyton.
Peyton went through a double mastectomy following her breast cancer diagnosis. Her brother Logan had convinced her to write a memoir and he had documented the journey via photographs (book 2 The Promise of Us was about Logan and Peyton's childhood friend Claire). This book took us through the book tour in Europe and US that Peyton went on to promote her book, together with her publisher Mitch. And that's how they got to know each other at both professional and personal levels.
My heart went out to Peyton. Her story gave me a great sense of the rough paths cancer survivors had to go through. Her feelings before, during, and after cancer treatment, how cancer had changed her, her insecurities, her constant worries of the future, her strength and vulnerabilities, her sacrifices for those she loved, her compassion to help others who were dealing with the same struggles... Everything about Peyton felt so real and her stories were heartbreaking and emotional. Even after all she has gone through, yet she's tried to look for silver linings in everything in her life.
Mitch was the man of honor who took on the role of the father figure in his family. While he realized their upbringings were two worlds apart, he found something deep and familiar in Peyton, a smart, passionate, caring and loving woman. After getting on the wrong footing in the beginning of the tour, they've compromised and slowly developed strong feelings for each other. She learned to be more responsible and understanding while he learned to live the moments and enjoy himself.
Jamie Beck's characters have always been real and relatable, and I've always loved her beautiful, sweet, and gentle style. The Sanctuary Sound series particularly highlights the strong women who overcome life tragedies with undying support from their partners, friends and families. I really enjoyed revisiting the previous couples Steffi/Ryan and Claire/Logan. It was not heavy on the sex scene, yet it was lovely and tender, and you can feel the emotions from both characters. I love this book so much and relate to it personally (my mother is a breast cancer survivor). Highly recommended!
This was a story that I attempted several times and kept setting aside until the right time. The content was of such gravity that I felt like I had to be ready to honor the seriousness of it while reading.
The Wonder of Now doesn’t gloss over the misery experienced by the main character, but it doesn’t romanticize it, either. It is matter-of-fact and doesn’t make the character pitiable it heroic. She’s just a normal person who experienced a horrible disease. Writing about her experience sets up the entire story, as she goes on a book tour and falls for the agent going with her.
The romance lacked chemistry, which is a shame. They were both nice characters - they just felt like something passionate was missing between them.
Prepare yourself for heartbreaking and eventually heartwarming story. We have Peyton who wrote a book documenting how she dealt with her breast cancer, wow that part is poignant. Mitchell her publicist decides to come along with her and as he is spending time with her and learning what she went thru and what she is afraid of starts having feelings for her and these two need to heal and go thru their demons in order for them to truly be able to be together. Truly emotional showing a good author to have us feel it.
I liked the book, but not as much as others in this series. I wanted a stronger story for Peyton after all she's been through and more on rebuilding her relationship with Claire. I didn't dislike the story, I just felt there was a lot going on with secondary characters and I wanted more with Peyton and/or Peyton and Mitch.
The Wonder of Now by Jamie Beck a wonder of a four-star read. This is number three in the Sanctuary Sound series, I have read and enjoyed the first two novels in this series and enjoyed them in order as they build, and we get to more of the characters that we have grown to love. That being said I enjoyed finally getting the chance to really get to know Peyton, watch her as she gets to know herself again. Throw in her complete opposite Mitch, and some added dramas and you have a great story. I have oversimplified there but you need to read this series, it is filled with deepness and drama and will surprise you all the way through.
