10 Simple Secrets of the World’s Greatest Business Communicators
I’ve read a couple of Carmine Gallo’s books before, but never had the chance to check out 10 Simple Secrets of the World’s Greatest Business Communicators. The release of a new edition, however, seemed as good a reason as any.
That is, other than the fact that I was looking for a metaphorical shot in the arm for a couple of presentations I was developing, and so I figured, “Well, why not?”
In a sense, Gallo’s other books have already covered the material in 10 Simple Secrets in much greater detail; yet the advantage of this latter book is its format. The book is short, and serves as a checklist of sorts of ten things that people in business ought to keep in mind in order to effectively get their message across.
The cynical might object that the book is little more than a listicle write large. But I like to think of it as an efficient method to be reminded about the best way to package the substance and form of presentations
This book was very repetitive and I feel like it would have been a lot better without the author constantly utilizing name dropping to keep the reader invested. This book could easily have been cut in half by taking out the repetitiveness and name dropping.
