5 stars
Beautiful book. Very eye opening reminds us to stop and appreciate everything life has to offer.
I received a copy of this in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.
While I understand the idea behind this book, It wasn't ... all i had hoped it would be. It was good, but felt like it was missing something.
Finding Beauty is a lovely set of ideas where you can find beauty. The book shows us that beauty is in the small things. We need to learn to see and appreciate them.
It is beautifully written, I love the design, and the quotes added. This book would make an excellent gift.
It was okay, I enjoyed some parts of “Finding Beauty” and there were some areas that I could see room for improvement or change, but at least it could be due to my personal preferences. All in all, I do recommend this to anyone looking to find beauty in life.
A wonderful little book to remind us all of the beauty that surrounds us in all aspects of our lives. I can see this being helpful if someone is feeling down and needs a little pick me up and reminder that beauty is everywhere. Thank you to Netgalley and Bright & Happy Books LLC for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Overview:
-- I got this book as an advance review copy from Netgalley. I really liked the concept of the book. The author has taken a simple thought and made it into a nice and beautiful book.
Ease of reading:
-- I read the entire book thrice, in a single sitting. Then I came back to it again after a few days. I thought of the entire book as a single poem which has been written with a small passage on each page. The book is not only easy to read, but is also moving.
What I loved about the book:
-- The very fact that the author can find more than a 150 ways to find beauty in and around us is humbling. When all we see around and within us is complaints about everything, everyday, this book and the things in which the author finds beauty comes as a refreshing change and one that stopped me in my track and rethink and relook the life that i have. The book made me sit up and enjoy the cup of coffee that i was holding before continuing to read the book; it made me feel gratitude to what I already have in my life; to stop complaining about trivial things and look at the bright side. Any book that can do that, change the way its reader feels and acts, deserves a display of gratitude. This review and the change in my attitude (for as long as it stays, hopefully for as long as I can feel it) is my expression of gratitude.
-- In addition to this, the author also lists a brilliant quote related to everything that he finds beauty in. Most of the quotes are fresh and add to the narrative. I will be candid and admit that i first read the entire book as a poem (thrice) and then went back and read the quotes separately and still found them interesting.
What would I have done differently:
-- The only thing that i would have done differently would be to also add a piece of art (some visual element) that represented the beauty that the author talks about. I would think that it would have added another dimension. However, I can also understand that it could potentially stop me from imagining the beauty and thereby might diminish the impact of the texts. However, I would atleast try that before i went to press, if i were the author of this book.
My recommendation:
-- This book comes highly recommended, for its sheer ability to move you. The book needs to be read slowly and savoured over long periods of time.
Finding Beauty is a wonderful reminder of the multiple opportunities we have each day to find beauty if we but recognize it.
Each of the 170 ways given to look on the bright side of things is paired with an appropriate quote - a bonus for quote lovers like me!!
This would make a wonderful gift for anyone interested in being more positive in their outlook.

This short little book is full of simple reminders to find beauty in every day life. It's not a deep, thought-provoking book but still has some good tips.
I would have loved a Kindle format. I read it on my laptop in the end. It is cozy and nice, that was the feeling. Different, not very complicated but useful in a calm manner. It offers you peace and stillness and the opportunity to meditate.
A simple book, each page devoted to a quote and a few words about something beautiful and inspiring. There’s not much here, but it’s a nice reminder about the important things to observe.
This is a lovely light-read with simple yet meaningful reminders of finding beauty in everyday life. The short, concise and gentle reminders supported with pleasant poetic passages are calming and compelling.
Finding Beauty is a simple book to remind us to slow down and enjoy the beauty in the smallest and simplicity in life. The world can be so ugly and negative that we all need to take deep breath and focus on the beauty instead of all the ugliness.
Beautful absolutely beautiful. I loved it.
I would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy free of charge. This is my honest and unbiased opinion of it.
This is my first NetGalley review! I’m going to start by saying that this is a pretty simple book (maybe a bit too simple for my taste ), it’s a well put together list of things that makes our lives a little brighter. Overall I enjoyed it because I can relate to how walking in nature, seeing the trees in all their glory or swimming in the ocean refreshes the soul or how life definitely improves once you realize how important it is to be kind to others and to yourself - “look deeply into your eyes. (...) do you see the beauty ?”. Finding Beauty by Patrick Lindsay it’s a good recommendation for someone who is struggling and just needs a little reminder that life doesn’t suck that bad.
Sometimes when you are overwhelmed with negative thoughts, you have no idea where to find a starting place for pulling yourself out of the abyss. Finding Beauty by Patrick Lindsay offers a great solution. Designed in very short meditations and complementing quotes, the pages of this book provide tons of options that anyone can identify with and use. From the things right outside your front door (clouds, a spider doing its work, a tree) to the intangible (silence, considering alternatives, balance) to acts (being kind, learning, caring for others), Lindsay offers plenty of ways to seek beauty and strive to enjoy it.
I seek and find beauty every day in my garden, and often blog about my efforts at www.Patch405.com.
I was offered an advance digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The thoughts and opinions expressed her are my own.
