Ugh, so cute and perfect! The author did an incredible job of making this story deep and meaningful. She created witty conversations and tweet replies and peppered it with laugh out loud moments.
If you're looking for a swoony smart contemporary, then look no further. I can't wait to read more from Emma Lord!
Warning: You WILL need to eat something sweet after reading this story. If only Monster Cake was real!
Highly recommended.
This was a cute story that I would definitely recommend to my friends! I loved the characters and the pacing was spot on!
Very cute and fun book I really want to read more from this author now. Sad it took me so long to get to.
This was the first Emma Lord book I read and I thought it was cute! I'm a big fan of Sleepless in Seattle remakes.
Tweet Cute turns Twitter rivals into frenemies then sweethearts.
Pepper is trying to juggle it all: swim team captain, her family's restaurant, school/grades, and staying out of the spotlight.
Jack, on the other hand, isn't getting the credit he deserves because of his "golden boy" twin brother Ethan.
The restaurants of their two families begin to feud over a grilled cheese recipe and before long Pepper and Jack know more about each other than either expected. Tweet Cute takes the reader to an unanticipated outcome, and it isn't "cheesy" like some YA romances.
Tweet Cute was an enjoyable YA romcom although nothing that stood out against the crowd. There is often a moment in romcoms where the cringe factor gets to me, and this book had a moment like that. But overall I enjoyed the read.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
I found this story to be super cute. I love the banter between the two characters and found myself really getting sucked into the story. Love this one.
This was such a cute book. I loved the whole premise and vibe of the book. I should have picked this up way sooner
This was surprisingly really charming.
♥ I fucking loved the banter between the two main leads, and the thrill of waiting for them to finally get together was just so much fun!
♥ I also liked that we saw two very different -- but both very loving -- family dynamics between the Pepper's and Jack's families.
♥ There was some depth to the story as well! Aside from all the Twitter wars, there was a subplot about following your dreams, and doing what you love.
DNF 10%. What I read was fine, I wasn't hooked by the story and found myself repeatedly putting this down for other books. So sadly this one didn't work for me
This was so cute!! and all the food-mentioning made my mouth water. The Monster cake espesially! PepperJack were so adorable! I adore that ship, tbh.
I laughed out loud, and thoroughly enjoyed Tweet Cute. This book was just so freaking adorable! This is You've Got Mail for Gen Z and the social media era. It's a little slow to start, but once it gets going, it has all the cuteness and humor you want in a Romcom, with a side of characters figuring out what they want in life and going after it. This hits ALL the major beats of You've Got Mail, if the characters happened to be teenagers working for their parents rival food companies and engaging in a Twitter war over a grilled cheese sandwich! I loved this so much!
Obviously with the whole rivalry and twitter war, there's some drama in here, but it's handled in a really refreshing way pretty much consistently. I love these characters. I felt those panicking-about-the-future vibes, Pepper in all her overachieving glory, and Jack feeling like he'd forever be in his brother's shadow. I also like the present themes of choosing a path that makes you, and not others, happy. as well as family bonds and loyalty. they add a really nice depth component to such a light story.
Cuteness overload!! This took me way too long to pick up, but when I finally did I was annoyed with myself for not getting to it sooner. I enjoyed Pepper and Jack's dynamic, it was opposites attract done right. The social media focus seemed perfect for the target audience of young readers and overall this was freaking adorable.
I really liked the book ! The main character was liakable and I loved the plot ,I wish it was longer tho ,to enjoy it a little bit more
This was such a cute read, but I'm not a huge romance lover. I did like the premise and the banter was fun!
Absolutely adorable teen romance utilizing the beloved trope of enemies/rivals to lovers. This is a modern, teen retooling of the YOU’VE GOT MAIL/SHOP AROUND THE CORNER premise and Lord nails it. The characters and the world she creates are complex and believable. A joy to read.
This was indeed very cute YA contemporary. Pepper and Jack run the twitter accounts for their respective family businesses. Shenanigans ensue and the frenemies become more than just friends.
Emma Lord is becoming one of my favourite authors! Her YA books are always funny, heartwaming, but deal also with heavy topics with such grace.
Plus, if you're a fan of You've got Mail, you should totally read this book!
This book was the cutest! I love the insertion of modern day technology, especially when it's witty and fun. These two were so much fun to fall for.
This book was so sweet and cute. I loved the storyline and how easy it was to follow each individuals story. The characters were well developed and very relatable. The cover artwork was adorable too! Overall, the subject matter of this book was very current and appropriate for the modern world and I would definitely recommend it to a friend!
