The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews is the most fun you will have reading the most preposterous plot. If you don’t believe me read the author’s note at the end of the book. Could this story happen, I don’t think so but who cares, it is just so enjoyable. Living life graciously, lovingly and fully is the best revenge is a lesson for us all.
The Kissing Contract is funny with serious undertones. The characters are extremely likable both the main characters and the supporting ones, includes the bunnies. Marshall has many sides which all comes out in the story. He is easy to love so no wonder veterinarian Dr. Augusta “Gus” North fell for him. She also is a true catch; beauty and brains. I loved these two together. I loved how Marshall had to tackle his past, instead of it being skimmed over at the end.
How Jeremy’s story is going to top this one, I can’t imagine. However, I may cry if Marshall’s brother does not get his own story. I hope Amy Andrews is writing it even now! I also would like to know about Ray.
4.5 Stars; loved the story but not the overused of one word of profanity, so took half a star off for that. Call me old fashioned but it stood out to me.
When Marshall finds himself the heir to his grandfather’s island all he wants to do is destroy everything on it and hopefully that will destroy the bad memories as well. What he hadn’t counted on was a vet to put his plans on hold so that she could save the resident bunny population.
Gus and the American Bunny League are determined to save their charges and that means taking Marshall to court. They must now work together to save the bunnies and the one rule that can’t be broken is no “bunny” business as evidenced by the kissing contract that Gus is determined to enforce.
Heat and humor combine in this unique storyline that has you hoping that not only do the bunnies find a new home but that Gus and Marshall are able to heal from their pasts and find a home in each other as well.
A fun concept with a cute twist. Marshall is not happy when his construction project is held up by Dr. Augusta 'Gus' North and the American Bunny League. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous and also a little inconvenient as they have to live and work together while catching and rehoming the rabbits.
There are some really nice moments in this book. I liked their appreciation of each other's work as they spent more time together. Some of their banter was also pretty great as was Gus' bunny t-shirt collection.
However, I did struggle with reading parts of the book. So much of it was dedicated to them constantly talking about how attractive the other person was and how turned on they were. I understand that as a romance there will be some of this, but it felt like 80% of the first half of the book was basically these two things. I think because so much of the book was this way the ending felt a bit rushed.
I also appreciate a nice turn of phrase and varied word usage so the same descriptions aren't on every other page. There were a few times, though, it felt a little over the top here.
Overall this was a fun book and I did end up enjoying it as I have other books by this author. I do hope there is a second book planned for Marshall's brother!
This book was so freaking good! I really liked the characters, the story, and the chemistry. I have not read Amy Andrews before and I am looking forward to reading more by her!
Marshall and Gus start off as enemies in which he is trying to develop an island that happens to be infested by domestic bunnies, Gus is a vet that is responsible for making sure that bunnies are safe and relocated well. They clash COMPLETELY but have major sexual chemistry. These two are so completely different people. Marshall is a mans man and super rugged. Gus is beautiful but that has been more of a hindrance than a good thing.
I loved that these two did their Kissing Contract because they were able to get to know each other without kissing or having sex. I also liked the reasons that the couple worked but also had conflict also I freaking adored all of the bunnies, especially Thumper! <3
I recommend checking out this book if you want a light but heartfelt romance with just the right amount of steam and chemistry that works perfectly for the two of them!
Thank you to Social Butterfly PR, Netgalley, and the author for allowing me an ARC to read and review honest and voluntarily!
This right here is my kind of read. It is the most entertaining book I have ever read. Yes, it is that good. I spent half of the time reading this book laughing and the other half, squirming in my seat. It made me cry, it filled me up and left me unbelievably happy. This Enemies to Lovers trope is one of my favorite tropes and this one was simply fantastic! It was one of those books I picked up and pretty much didn’t put back down until it was over, because I was so hooked. But that is what Amy Andrews’ books tend to do to me. I am so glad that I found her stories....
I loved these characters, they were such fantastic characters, so full and rich with goodness and so attracted to one another. Their interactions were so full of sass, romance, and underlying passion as well as panty melting chemistry. I could feel their attraction and loved their heat. I thought Marshall was the sweetest man, thoughtful, and caring and oh so sexy! Loved Augusta “Gus” and how she tried to keep her walls up, so independent and fierce with such a soft heart inside. Her outfits and the sayings on them were to die for and so clever.
This story was so hot, funny, sweet, and romantic. It left me with a smile on my face and joy in my heart, as well as being a new bunny lover for giving us this Epically Amazing book. LOL! LOVED IT!!!!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Marshall and Augusta (Gus), aka Elmer and Goldilocks, were the most endearing couple I have read in awhile. She was nursing a broken heart and he was so deep in denial about his past that he couldn't see the forest for the trees. When they meet, she is trying to stop his company from starting demolition on an island his brother owns. He can't have any more setbacks on this project and is stunned to learn the vet, who is trying to rehome hundreds of rabbits, is a sexy knockout. When the judge orders them to work together and complete the project in four weeks, they both believe it will be easy to stay away from each other.
Unfortunately, the first night they both stay in the cabin, he doesn't know she is there and walks in buck naked. Things between the two move pretty fast, in some ways, from there. She sees a different side to him and realizes that he isn't the horrible person she thought he was. He also realizes that she so much more than a pretty package and he finds how smart she is to be a complete turn-on.
When she writes a kissing contract, or .a no kissing contract, and adds no s** to the contract after realzing that she might be attracted to him, he is stunned but finds a way to get a kiss out of her in the end. The way these two come to be together, without kissing or having s**, is the gray area of the contract, but steamy all the same. They both realize they are falling for the other, but she is skittish, due to her past and finding out that he ended three engagements.
In order to find their happiness together, he has to work on himself. Whether he will be willing to do that to get Gus is the question. Whether she will wait for him to figure out why he ended those relationships is also important. Finally, when Marshall asks a really big question at the absolute worst time, it will send Gus running, but he just might have a way to get the girl.
A cute book with strong characters and really cute phrases on shirts that were extremely appropriate for this particular book. I enjoyed seeing Marshall find .another passion in life, albeit, one he never saw coming. I also enjoyed seeing Gus realize that no one was holding her back from falling in love except herself. I loved this book and hope to read a book about Marshall's brother in the near future.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
This book was such a fun, sweet, sexy entertaining read and who would have thought relocating bunnies could be so much fun !!!
Marshall owns a construction company and he is desperate to start tearing down his late grandfathers house on an island retreat that he wants to turn to a fun escape for under privileged children but he first has to get past the American Bunny League who are insisting on rescuing two escaped bunnies currently residing in the island. A judge decides Marshall needs to work with veterinarian Gus as she develops the Bunny census and organises the tracking and capturing of what’s now 200+ bunnies......
Sparks fly between this couple, the attraction is instant, the chemistry sizzling but Gus is wary of all men since her last boyfriend cheated on her, so can Marshall wear her down and get past her contract of No Kissing for the month they are spending together on the island guess you need to read the book to find that out ....
This book was such a fun entertaining read, I had so many laugh out loud moments, the characters are adorable and the banter flows so naturally. If you are looking for a book you won’t be able to put down look no further than The Kissing Contract. Can’t wait to see what’s next from this very talented author. Great read.
With a grin on my face and a smile in my heart, I gave myself over to the force that is Amy Andrews and lost my head in the process. Marshall and Gus are at odds over an island. For Marshall it holds painful memories. For veterinarian, Dr. Augusta (Gus) North it's home for over 200 adorable bunnies. Can a court order and a mischievous, yet cuddly group of rabbits, spell the beginning of an ever after kind of love for two stubborn hearts? Hold on to your hearts cause The Kissing Contract, just may still them away.
So what is it about a blue collar, successful, handsome man, a successful veterinarian beautiful woman, and a f#$k ton of bunnies?
An island. The island where Marshal Dyson enjoyed a few days with his mother, just years before she died when he was just a teen. That island is infested with domesticated bunnies after a male and female bunnies (Buck and Doe, did y’all know that?) were left there to do what bunnies to best – f$%k like bunnies.
The island is meant to be built on, but now a judge has court ordered a delay of one month to locate and rehome all bunnies prior to starting construction.
So now Dr. Augusta (Gus) North is on the island with Marshall and twenty volunteers and Bunny League employees, working around the clock.
The island, though, must be magical, as most volunteers find a bed partner. But also, Marshall and Gus grow closer. So close, in fact, that when Marshall kisses Gus early on, she demands a kissing contract that will provide her physical respite from his advances until the very end of their project.
Gus’ reasoning for the contract is a broken heart. Marshall’s vice is 3 ex-fiancés.
To find out what happens when construction finally starts and all the bunny people, including all bunnies, are off the island, you’ll have to read the book yourselves.
I loved it. It’s cute, fun, romantic, sexy, hilarious at times and a really light and enjoyable read.
This LOL story will stay with you. Marshall has his hands full when a judge orders him to help Gus round up bunnies. They are attracted to each other but are fighting their feelings and a contract won't help. When it is all said and done will these two walk away with their hearts in one piece? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This is a well written story which is humorous, romantic, entertaining, with witty banter and love. Marshall and Augusta / Gus, are a perfect match for each other, with instant chemistry, and a few obstacles to overcome on the way to healing and being together. I recommend this for all readers.
I had such fun with The Kissing Contract. Enemies to lovers, razing the buildings on a private island to the ground to erase a cruel grandfather’s memory, rebuilding a new future from an embittered past — oh, and bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. What’s not to enjoy about that?
Marshall and Jeremy Dyson have no earthly reason to have the least bit of respect for their late grandfather’s wishes. Certainly not after the way he heartbreakingly treated their mother, so selling off his properties and converting his private island in the middle of the lake to make it public was definitely an “in your face grandpa” action. And it should have been relatively easy — except for those bunnies that have multiplied (as bunnies do) on the island. They’ll have to be removed but Marshall certainly didn’t expect to have to deal with the American Bunny League to do so, or one beautiful, stubborn, annoying veterinarian along the way.
Dr. Augusta “Gus” North is still dealing over a rather nasty breakup. She’s also super sensitive over male reactions to her beauty and her body. She certainly didn’t ask to look as she does, and she is completely tired of people seeing the outside and not noticing the intelligence, and the feelings she holds inside. So, when she takes Marshall to court over the relocation of hundreds of bunnies Gus not only expects a fight but she expects this man to act like every other male of the species –annoying and unreasonable. And Marshall doesn’t disappoint, although not for the reasons Gus expects.
There is never a doubt in my mind that with an Amy Andrews title I’m going to have a fun, sexy, and heartfelt time with the couple, and Augusta along with Marshall grabbed my attention along with my emotions from the start. There is definitely sexual tension between them, but there is also fun bantering, a few misunderstandings as to reasons things were done – but there is also healing going on as well. My heart broke for Marshall’s mother, as well as for him and his brother at their grandfather’s actions. Sometimes family can do more harm than the worst enemy. Watching them work through their differences, fight their attraction as well as they could, and wrangle an island full of adorable, fluffy, and stubborn bunnies was such a fun adventure. I had a blast, and if you love a good Rom-Com then you’ll want to check out The Kissing Contract. Now I just have to wait for Jeremy’s story, that one is a story I can’t wait to read.
The release date for The Kissing Contract is July 15, 2019
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Fun and flirtatious, The Kissing Contract is a light an easy read with an outrageous plot that Amy Andrews executed with flare.
Marshall’s grandfather was a mean SOB who left his family hanging because his mother didn’t dutiful toe the line. Leaving his grandson his worldly encumbrances in his last will and testament, they decide to liquidate the lot donating it charity, except for vacation spot island in the middle of a lake. An island that no one was allowed to visit. Marshall and his brother decide to open the island up to families, building cabins and changing its private use to public. A screw you to their grandfather. Nothing is going to stand in their way, not even the American Bunny League.
Apparently, some released domesticated bunnies on the island that do what they do best and made a bunch more. The American Bunny League wants a chance to remove the bunnies and find them safe homes to adopt them. The sexy Dr. Augusta, “Gus”, was not what Marshall expected.
The chemistry is electrifying. So much so that they create a napkin contract the says they can’t kiss for the entire time they are stuck on the island together.
Like I said, fun and flirty, with an original plot and lots of bunny loving going on.

It’s another winner from Amy Andrews! I love how her characters are human and have flaws. It makes it so much easier to root for a couple to recognize their feelings for each other. Then again, not every couple has a few hundred bunnies to deal with while they sort their feelings out. The premise was unique, and I loved the humor that tied into the plot catalyst of the bunnies. As always, the sexy times were ohhh, so hot! I’ll never look at a jetty the same way again. For more thoughts on this one, visit my blog at Fireflies and Free Kicks Fiction Reviews. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
If you're looking for a fun lighthearted read, then this is the book. Stuck together in a weird situation, these attractive main characters find a way to prolong their desire and deny their chemistry for four long weeks. It's different in the way that both Marshall and Gus want to do the right thing by each other and take their time.
Who knew bunnies could be so troublesome?
3.5 stars
Marshall can’t wait to raze his grandfathers island to the ground. But thanks to the Bunnies and a court order he has to work with the ABL and Vet Gus/Augusta to save and relocate the rabbits.
From the start Marshall and Gus can feel the sparks flying around them. But Gus being a little gun-shy after her last relationship makes Marshall sign a no kissing contract during the 4 weeks they are in the island. But once the 4 weeks are up all bets are off.
The kissing contract is a sweet and sexy story that will have you falling in love right from the start with not just the story but also the characters. The interactions between Gus and Marshall was like a slow simmering of heat just waiting to be tipped over, and when it does it’s like fireworks. I enjoyed the bunny angle, it added some hilarious moments to the story and an innovative touch. Overall I had a lot of fun reading this book and will happily recommend.
The Kissing Contract was pure fun to read! This one had cute bunnies, a forced proximity plot and two really marvelous characters in the form of Gus, Marshall, Rambo and Thumper. I loved the interaction between Gus aka Augusta North and Marshall Dyson, they just had the right balance of witty banter, sweet and sexy encounters and a fantastic progression with their romance. The Kissing Contract is just the exact thing Rom Com lovers would love!
Now this, to me, would classify as a great beach read.
Marshall and Augusta or Gus, start out as enemies over, of all things, bunnies. The bunnies were a great diversion, but look deeper into their journey. A lot of resolving going on for both of them, but they truly get to be friends, to know each other, and assess themselves, with bumps along the way. There is so much anticipated heat on this path because of a napkin, a pen and a silly agreement, maybe not so silly after all! It gave me shivers when Marshall called her "Augusta" mmm, so gravelly! Or I LoL'ed when he called her Goldilocks and she called him Elmer, a ton of inside humor throughout.
Rescuing any species should not be taken lightly and I applaud Ms Andrew's efforts, fact and fiction mixed, to rehome these wapidly increasing wascally wabbits.
A few times, I do wish Gus would've shut her mind off as I understood her dilemma from the start, but still a very good read with a very HEA!
I received an advance reader's copy thru Netgalley and am giving my voluntary honest opinions without spoilers or lengthy synopsis.
This was such a fun read, with plenty of sexual tension, a couple of hot scenes, tons of banter and nearly 200 bunnies.
I had a fun time catching Bunnies with Gus and sexy Marshall. When Marshall is ordered by the court to help Gus and the ABL (American Bunny League), you can tell straight away there's going to be plenty of back and forth between these two characters.
I found Gus and her adamance on following the contract they signed saying no kissing to be amusing considering the sexual tension between the two of them. Also it wasn't just Marshall who was suffering, I'm not sure I could have held out like she did. But she has her reasons for holding out, past hurts can be nasty things to get over.
I enjoyed Marshall's teasing of Gus and his frustration with the situation as well as his adamance that he would eventually get that kiss.
I liked the way Marshall started to appreciate the island on a different level over the month he spent there with Gus catching Bunnies, he had a lot of healing to do himself.
This was a fun escapist read, that put a smile on my face and gave me plenty of giggles along the way.
The authors note at the back of the book is definitely worth reading for an extra smile.
Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing: Amara for providing me with a digital copy of this book in return for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Amy Andrews and it definitely won’t be the last! I loved this story about Gus, a vet specializing in bunny rescues, and Marshall, a construction company owner with a bunny problem.
Gus and Marshall were super likable. They were both guarded for different reasons and had things in their past that definitely were hindering their futures. I really enjoyed reading the progression of their relationship. It was definitely more a slow burn and I appreciated that. I loved Marshall and Jeremy’s relationship. I really hope we get a book about Jeremy!
Overall I would definitely recommend this one. It was very well written and hooked me from the start. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!
