It tried too hard to be funny for my taste.
I did not like Leah at all, sadly. She just ended up being awkward and annoying.

This book did nothing for me. The writing was very “rambly” and got increasingly hard to follow and the main character wasn’t likable at all. Maybe that was the idea but it just wasn’t enjoyable to read so I had to DNF. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood to enjoy this book but, this grown woman acting like a child and hating everything and everyone just wasn’t a fun thing to read.

I went in with low expectations for this book, given the not-great ratings. Overall, the book and Leah are insane - like, possible clinical diagnosis of mental illness - but the pacing of the narrative was good, the writing was hilarious, and the plot kept me wanting to know more. Those are all things I value in good books.

The book isn’t perfect: what past-middle-aged woman doesn’t know that shooting at things in buildings is illegal? Leah is a bit of an idiot. Also her obsession with Victoria’s Secret and thong underwear is a bit unhinged. I’m a criminal defense lawyer and I frequently was shaking my head at her idiotic antics.

Anyway I read this quickly. I enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a ridiculous but funny quick read, this isn’t a bad choice.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a free copy of this book in exchange for my review.

This was a really funny book and I really enjoyed the fact that she got a gun and considered a bunch of different things to do.

Good Time Girl was funny from page one. Though I wish the main character complained less about her age, WE GET IT! But I did like the story and the characters.

I just couldn’t. Very rarely do I give up on books, but I hit the 50 percent point and just could not finish.

The main character, Leah, endlessly complains about how old she is. She’s 48, never married, She is too focused on getting younger men into her bed because the current (married) man she’s with just isn’t cutting it. The complaining doesn’t stop with the men and how ancient she feels. Her job and how she feels she’s becoming irrelevant because of her age.

At a time when women are striving to be empowered and be noticed for all the good they are doing (in the shadow of men), a story about a grump “old” lady is a turn-off. As a woman in my 40s, I had no connection with this character.

The humor in the book was entertaining at first, but it got old very quickly.

1 Star – I just couldn’t do it.

This was a DNF for me at 23%. I just couldn't take to it at all. I've had it shelved for a year and have recently retried to read it and it's still not working for me :(

Quirky and funny! This book was a fun read with its interesting characters and out of the ordinary situations.
You will find yourself laughing out load!

At first I liked the humour, but it got old pretty fast. From there it was a struggle to get through the book. I didn't much care for the bitching main character. Agree with her hate of thongs, though.

Couldn't really relate to this in all honesty. Didn't like the main character either which didn't help matters

Leah is a middle aged woman basically fighting against the norm, the man & thongs. Lol. She's what people would think of a stereo typical single, middle aged woman; who's had it & on the edge. Who know's what she's capable of doing as an angry, overworked, hormonal woman.

Thanks for letting me read this book. I haven’t read any other books by this author. I’m unsure whether I will. This one wasn’t a favorite for me. It was however high paced so if you’re into quick reads than this may be for you.

This was an entertaining read with a fun quirky character. I needed the laughter that this book provided.

Too high paced for me. Couldn't really get into it.

I like the plot idea, though, but a different tone of voice would've worked better for me.

First I thought this was young adults an NFS it definitely isn't. This book is about a 48 year old who has never been married and has more men in her life than she probably has dish dishs. I think it's a funny read. It's like no other book I've read. The end could use some help.

This book was funny and relatable, but a little much on how much Leah goes on about how old she is/feels and she almost feels like a lost puppy that can't figure out what they want.

Such a fun read! Definitely for anyone who just enjoys a genuine protagonist living on her own terms and enjoying her life!

This was a DNF for me. I had a really hard time getting into the plot and the characters. Not only could I not get into the book, but it was hard to actually relate to the main character. I dont have much to say about this book other than, I just didnt like it.

I was given an ARC in return for my honest review.

I'm not too sure what to say about this book. The humour didn't do it for me and I really disliked the main character. If Leah had been a Lee going after young women the way Leah went after young men and having the same relationship with a gun, I'm not sure it would have been published. Not recommended.

I had read some reviews before diving into this book and it was definitely unlike any books I've read this year. It got off to a slow start for me and then it most definitely had a steep change and I found it really engaging. Leah's character was fun but at times quite frustrating to read about - but her sheer determination and confidence was of such appeal. It had some really clever humour intertwined into a more serious storyline. It's not what I expected at all and was a quick read for me to dig into!
