SO MUCH STEAM. Warning for those who are sensitive when it comes to sexy time because there is a ton of it and in detail so if that's not for you, stay away from this book.

I LOVED CHLOE. What a whole load of sass and sarcasm hidden behind her sweet, condescending voice. Her bickering with Red, her siblings, etc. it was just fab. I really loved how in depth Hibbert went with Chloe's chronic pain and illnesses and the struggles she goes through with them. Chloe is such strong physically and mentally and I really admire that.

Red is just adorable. The end, story is over. He's so precious and patient and sweet and I swear if I don't get more of them in the next books, RIOTS WILL HAPPEN.

This was just so fun and heartbreaking and sexy and hilarious and everything you would want in a book. It makes you FEEL GOOD but also hurt whenever your favorite character is upset. I can definitely see myself rereading this book for many years and I will force all of my friends to read this. So so good. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

I was a little hesitant to read Get a Life, Chloe Brown because I'd read one of Talia Hibbert's previous books and liked, but not loved it. But Chloe Brown was getting such rave reviews I decided to give it a shot and I'm so, so glad I did. This book was fantastic. Chloe Brown lives with chronic pain caused by her fibromyalgia, and she has cloistered herself in a small, safe world. She decides she needs to get a life, and writes herself a list of things she wants to do. Meanwhile Red Morgan, her building's cheerful superintendent, has also closed himself off after past trauma. The two can't stand each other, but Chloe needs Red's help with her list. Chloe and Red are both wonderful, full, and complicated characters. They're both working through really big issues, but they're both caring, considerate people. As their connection develops it is genuine. They're also both really funny, and Chloe's family is delightful. I read quite a bit of romance this year and this is one of my top reads - it definitely lived up to the hype. Can't wait for the next book in this series!

Chloe loves spreadsheets, lives in her family home, and follows a very carefully calibrated routine. After an accident causes Chloe to consider her own mortality, she decides it's time to get a life. And what better way to do that than making a list? After moving into her own apartment (that's one item checked off the list), she decides her bad boy building manager is the perfect person to help her live life on the edge, and before long, they're both smitten.

This book is so adorable, and I LOVE the narrator on the audio version! The dialogue is so clever and engaging, and the chemistry between Chloe and Red is really fun. This was my first time reading Talia Hibbert, but it won't be my last!

This book was so sweet with a ton of laugh out loud moments! Chloe was such a fascinating main character. She managed to be individual and relating at the same time. I loved Red's character too. He is the attractive main lead and even more so because of his patience and understanding of Chloe. Chloe's sisters added such a fun dynamic to the story! I will be looking for more Talia Hibbert!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown is such a sweet and touching story. It follows Chloe Brown, a young web designer struggling with fibromyalgia. In the wake of a near-death experience, Chloe makes herself a list to “get a life”, including items like moving out of her parent's house, go camping, and have meaningless sex. After moving into an apartment, Chloe meets, and butt heads with, her new super, Red. While Red gets on her last nerve, Chloe eventually enlists him in her get a life plan. But as the two hit it off, they both realize there is more to them than meets the eye, and they struggle to work through their unique baggage.

I found Get A Life Chloe Brown to be an unexpected gem. It started off slow and mainly focused on Chloe and her quest to have a life for herself. It’s told in alternating perspectives between Chloe and Red. I loved both Chloe and Reed as characters. They were both so unique and sweet in their own way. They were characters you desperately wanted to root for, even as they made annoying mistakes. Chloe is incredibly feisty and stubborn, even through dealing with her illness.

This was a very cute and light read. Although it does have some heavy topics, including chronic pain and abuse, the content is largely light in nature, focusing on the relationship between the two main characters. I’ve seen a number of reviews compare this to the Kiss Quotient and I think that’s accurate – two broken people, each with their own unique baggage, finding each other through strange circumstances.

I really loved this book. I loved the main characters. This is a great example of an enemies-to-lovers story done very well. Chloe was such a cool character to read about. She's brave and interesting and a lot of fun. Red was sexy and sweet and just a little bit damaged. Their chemistry was great and it had a great ending.
I can't wait until the series continues with her other sisters.

I posted a review on IG and Goodreads. I liked this book overall. A bit more open door than I thought. My one pet-peeve was that it wasn't really clear that this was an interracial couple, and the times this was noted it felt forced vs natural.

I loved that it featured a main character with a disability. And THIS was done very, very well! It showed how her disability affected her life, but also how she works through it to live a full one.

A super fun rom-com! I loved this book so much, the writing was easy to follow and light. I didn’t want to put it down!

The MC, Chloe, is one of my favorites ever. She’s funny and so relatable, I immediately wanted everything for her! I loved it so much that I am listening to the audiobook now, I just can’t get enough of this story.

This is the perfect summer read!
I look forward to reading more from the author!

Chloe has chronic pain and Red has baggage from a very painful past relationship. So this isn't the typical romance story and I think that's one reason why people are liking it so much. But I just couldn't get into it. Their romantic relationship felt forced, and it was overshadowed by all of the issues. I liked Red, but I worked too hard to *not* be annoyed by Chloe. I hate working so hard when I'm reading, especially with romance stories. I may try the next one in this series, but I doubt I'll be rereading this one.

My sincere thanks to Avon Publishing for sending me a copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest thoughts.

This book had me laughing, but it is not safe for work or the McDonald's drive thru. I actually listened to the audio, which felt a little odd. I'll tell you why: the narrator, although British, sounds like a middle-aged woman which fit neither of the MCs.

More about the book: The humor was top notch. I felt like the Talia Hibbert got my sense of humor which is hard to do. Basically it's ridiculous. This is a typical hate to love trope with very strong hate in the beginning. The hate border lined on disgust, which I did find kind of awkward at times.

Chloe has autoimmune diseases, and the way Red thought about her at the beginning before learning about her situation is what I imagine a lot of people with silent illnesses deal with on a daily basis. Chloe never felt like a weak character to me though. Even when she was physically suffering, I felt like she was a very strong woman.

In conclusion, I enjoyed the humor in this book. The characters were well developed. There were serious topics discussed in a light-hearted way with humor throughout. I'm excited for the sequels, which I think are from other Brown sisters' POVs.

This was a 3.5 read for me and while I liked it but I found that the slowness of the text or perhaps it is the author's style (because I've started others and struggled to get into them) causes me to lose interest after a few chapters.

It was really moving to see a book incorporate a male character who struggles emotionally moving forward and being open with his feelings following a fairly abusive and manipulative relationship with Red's character.

And I really enjoyed the way Chloe and Red's relationship developed in this book and Chloe's character in general. I found I could relate to her when it came to her personal fears and how she felt others viewed her and her illness. Her sisters were loveable and funny as well and overall I could see this as a nice summer or winter book to read when I could put a solid chunk of time into it. As it is a good book to read, it just felt a bit slow for me.

Knowing that this is the first of a series, I will definitely keep watch for the books that follow.

Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert is the first in a new series. Chloe is plagued by her many illnesses and after a near death experience has decided to literally, “get a life”. She starts off a journey that includes checking off what she considers to be momentous acts that will drive her life forward. Her new superintendent, Red, is just the dashing kind of hero that she didn’t expect. This opposites attract story is a testament to adventure and self-discovery. I liked how the author was realistic with Chloe’s expectations and her limitations. She has a serious pain and gets through her day with some self-medication and laughter. I think that Chloe is a fierce heroine and her journey to self Re-discovery and her tenacity in these obstacles makes this a book that will turn any cold day frowns, upside down.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬: Chloe Brown is chronically ill and when her life flashes before her eyes, she moves out of her childhood home and start her mission to 'get a life'.
𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭: Such a cute romance, but wasn't quite meaty enough for me
𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: I thought it would flow a little smoother? Still, it was entertaining to read
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Fun, complex, and diverse. The romance moved a little fast for my tastes.

I was super excited for this one to just fly by, but while it was entertaining, it didn't have that addictive quality that I was looking for.

I had an eARC of this book from the publisher but ended up listening to the audio in hoopla, which was a great decision as Adjoa Andoh is a great narrator (plus it drives home the UK setting.) I've never seen a romance featuring a character with chronic illness but here it is! Chloe suffers from fibromyalgia but is determined to experience her life after a period of severe illness and the end of a romantic relationship and some friendships. She's hesitant about letting new people in but then she meets Red. Bonus points for portraying a love interest who exhibits empathy and insight.

Wonderful read! The romance it's great and the writing makes it very difficult to put it down. I believe I read the entire book in one day. I needed to know what happened at the end of the story. Although, I must say, the big drama of the story could have easily been avoided had the characters had better communication, which annoyed me a bit since it's one of my pet peeves. But overall, I loved it!

This book is one of the best contemporary romance that I've read in 2019 so far. I really enjoyed the two main characters and seeing their infatuation for one another grow into love. The author's writing style was easy to read and enjoyable. I really liked the concept of the plot and the representation of a person with an chronic illness. Easily give this book a 4.5/5

Very cute, original romance. I loved that the heroine was struggling with her own challenges, and it was refreshing to read something new.

I was pleasantly surprised that this was taking place in England. I love a good British love story. A super fast and enjoyable read. I want more about Chloe and Red!

This is a sweet and very steamy enemies-to-lovers romance with only a little angst. Chloe is a very curvy black woman suffering with debilitating and painful fibromyalgia (contracted after a bout of pneumonia years prior). As a result of her pain, she was abandoned by her fiancé and chose to shut out all of her friends. She couldn’t handle both emotional and physical pain, so decided to avoid anything and anyone that might cause it. As the story begins, she is almost hit by a car which makes her realize that she hasn’t really been living, so she makes a list of ways to “get a life.” First step was moving out of her parents’ house and into her own apartment. There, she begins a testy relationship with her gorgeous super, Red. Despite their initial negative reaction to each other, Chloe checks off #7 on her list, “Do something bad,” when she spies on Red painting shirtless. She doesn’t know if he’s seen her, but eventually asks him to help her check off additional items on her list (for example, go camping, ride a motorbike). What ensues is a transformation from sarcastic, witty banter to passionate love. Red is one of the most caring and genuine heroes you’ll ever meet as well as a gifted painter, and, despite a painful past thanks to an abusive ex-girlfriend, he still cares deeply about people. Chloe, despite her fear of exposing herself to pain through relationships, is confident with her body (no awkwardness about getting naked) and acknowledges that she’s “gorgeous.” It is such a treat to read about a hunky hero who lusts after a woman’s “thick thighs” and “rounded belly.” We all need more of this celebration of diversity and body-positivity. Although cartoonish covers are all the rage right now, this one seems so misrepresentative of Chloe’s beauty. They could do much better. Fun, satisfying chick lit!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Avon through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

Chloe Brown is a smart, strong woman who thinks she knows what she wants and how to achieve them. This all changes with the introduction to her superintendent, Red. Get a Life, Chloe Brown is equal parts romantic and steamy, look no further.
