Dinosaurs: The Myth-busting Guide to Prehistoric Beasts by BBC Focus is a nice, short, but yet bursting with facts, book covering a wide range of topics in relation to our prehistoric inhabitants.
First the book covers a general timeline from earliest developments and life forms and then moves on to facts regarding inhabitants that were well-known , as well as no so common, that were alive and thrived during each time period. This book is not made to be all inclusive, it just introduces kids, young adults, and even adults that are learning a few new things as well, to the different time periods and their associated fascinating life forms that lived respectively during those times.
Then it is discussed what could have happened from an evolutionary standpoint if dinosaurs would not have become extinct and could have evolved into different species as time would have moved on and how that would have looked and affected us today.
A nice read for anyone interested in dinosaurs or prehistoric facts. Also would be interesting for anyone interested in biology/evolutionary science.
The illustrations were nice, however the Kindle version does not do them justice I am sure. I would love to see how they would pop on a traditional book format.
Despite being a Biology major, I was impressed with the ability to learn more about this subject matter. Compliments to the Author.
4/5 stars.
