A stunningly sad yet uplifting read. I didn’t knew if I would like this but I really did, the subject matter is handled sensitively and with hope.

What a poignant tear jerker of a book! However it’s not all doom and gloom but very much about hope , love , family and letting go!
Kayla a 15 year old schoolgirl basketball player has just been diagnosed with a life limiting condition, her parents are no longer together, dad has remarried to Charlotte and they have a little girl molly and mum heather remains single and devoted to Kayla.Throughout the diagnosis and treatment we gain an insight into the emotional maelstrom Kayla parents and step mum have been subjected to and the heartbreaking decisions that have to be made, whilst those around her are struggling to come to terms with the illness and prognosis Kayla has a last wish for her mum a gift for her to help her keep on living and instructions on how to get closer to Dr Jack.
A sad poignant thought provoking read that manages to be uplifting and amazing at the same time!
Thank you net galley for this tear jerker if a read that will stay with me for a very long time x

Oh my, I have to admit I sobbed reading this book, broke my heart. I went and gave my 16yr old daughter a huge hug and told her I loved her always.
Kayla was so brave and thought of what would happen to her mother.
Heart breaking story. I loved it though even through the tears when Aiden was reading the eulogy.
