Rock vs. Country
When a rock star walks into a bar he sees a woman face down on the bar with a frilly dress and heels to match what is he to think? How about that said woman was at her sister’s wedding and she catches her boyfriend with another of the bridesmaids and only to make it better her boyfriend is now her sister’s brother-in-law. The setup is great especially when Aubrey is full of sarcasm which always seems to be on the funny side. The banter between Kozart and Aubrey gave me a lot of laugh out loud moments.
Another part of their first meeting is that Aubrey has no idea that the guy who took her back to the wedding to help her get some dignity back was a famous rock star that just about everyone on the planet knew and would have loved to catch him. Kozart didn’t want to be caught though and Aubrey didn’t like rock…she loved country music.
The childhood of Kozart left him damaged but would Aubrey be able to pull him through? This book kept me turning pages because it was that good.
This book was a quick read and interesting young rock romance story.
It has a bit of everything in it, from the angst, a cheating boyfriend caught red-handed, first butterflies when you know a new person that you're attracted to and the chemistry is there all the time, the characters are growing slowly throughout the pages, their friendship is interesting and the fact that she doesn't know who he is from the beginning, that he can be himself around her is a great addition to the story.
She's sassy and smart and beautiful while he falls hard for her and doesn't even know it. It's hard to get committed with a person that has to travel a lot, the trust is always an issue but the friendship is getting stronger and the chemistry and love blooms between these imperfect souls that are such perfect match together.
Koxart was a rockstar. He had left two blonde girls in his bed sleeping, two bed they hadn’t made him go to sleep. He needed to breathe and left the penthouse. In the elevators glassed walls he realized he had aged a lot in the last five years, Traveling, partying, lack of sleep did that to people. Aubrey set in the bar of the ritzy hotel her sisters-Caroline wedding reception was being held. She had caught her boyfriend Goeffrey having sex with a bridemaid-Jewel. Than she heard a deep voice beside her asking her if she was okay. Aubrey said she was fine and he said she didn’t look fine. She told him what had happened Kozart told her to come on and they went back to the wedding and danced than they went to the bar to get a drink and Kozart asked if her ex was there she said he was the groom's brother then she told him where Geofftrey was standing and he went in front of her so she didn't have to see her ex and kissed her. Caroline had called out to her and Kozart said he was taking care of Aubrey. Later he took her to her room and she admitted to being drunk. When she got to her room Geoffrey was there and she told him to get out and Kozart backed her and he left. The next morning she woke up hungover and a bare chested Kozart was standing in the doorway. He said he was leaving for home. When she asked where he lived he said Nashville. He noticed her Universityof Tennessee t shirt and she said she was a senior majoring in speech pathology. Kozart said he stuttered when he was young it stopped in HS. Occasionally came back when he was extremely nervous. Caroline knocked on her door and she told her the gut had just left. Caroline told her he was a rock satr-Z Savage of Savage Beasts. Caroline said he was the hottest rock on the planet. School began in a few days and Aubret had no place to live as she and Geoffrey were supposed to live together their senior year. Than a girl she had been partnered with for a room freshman year -Eliza- offered her a room from her condo and Aubrey took it. Aubrey out to the bar with The Triplets- her friends Geoffrey was there and he came up to her at the bar and the girls and her left him to dance. On the dance floor she felt strong hands grab her hips, it was geoffrey and he said “ I’ve missed you” and then added so much. Than he spun her around and tried to kiss her. Mandt told her she was going to have him kicked out if he didn’t leave. He left. Aubrey was alone and drunk in her room when her phone rang it was Kozart and he said he had been thinking about her. He said when she was sleeping in the hotel he used her phone to call his so he had her number. Kozart texted her when she was in class and told he was on his way to Tampa for work. After that she thought -what do you want from me Kozart Savage. After the concert Kozart wanted to get back to his room to sleep. He didn't normally sleep he may get two hours of uninterrupted sleep a night if he was lucky. But when he slept with Aubrey he slept like a rock and when he talked to her. Aubrey went out with her friends again and she went to the girls bathroom when she came out someone grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the dark alley, it was Kozart he asked her if she’d go somewhere quiet for a drink with him. They ended up at his hotel. Aybrey agreed to spend the night but said no sex. Kozart told her he had trouble sleeping and barely got two hours a night. He also said he had been brought up in the foster system and with each new placement -and some were very bad- he had learned to sleep with one eye open.He said he liked kissing her and sleeping next to her. The next day he took her to the concert arena asked her to listen to his band during sound check and asked her to his concert that night. After the concert he told her they were leaving for Alabama and he couldn’t promise her anything as he would sleep with some groupies than she got in his car and the driver took her home.
I loved this book. I found another favorite book. I absolutely loved this book. I loved Kozart and Aubrey together and how they interacted. I loved how Kozart took Aubrey back to her sister’s wedding and kissed her in front of her ex-geoffrey. I also loved how he waited to sleep with Aubrey until he made sure he was absolutely sure she wanted to have sex with him. I felt so bad for Kozart when everyone turned on him about Aubrey even Trenton his oldest friend but money before Kozart. I hated how Aubrey hurt for what she thought Kozart did and how he hurt without Aubrey. I loved the pace and the plot. I read this in one setting. I couldn’t put this down. I found nothing to criticize in this book -happily. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.
Kozart and Aubrey are a wonderful couple!
I greatly enjoyed this story!
Kozart is a rock star who is used to having a different woman whenever he wants one. Sometimes multiple women at once. Because of this, I thought this story would be just like every other rock star book. I was very shocked when this rocker was all about truth and trust. Very refreshing... even when I wanted to punch him in the face for telling Aubrey he couldn't promise her he wouldn't stay. I mean, who says that?1?!?
I don't want to get into too much about this one because I want you to experience it like I did... and believe me, it was an experience.
I highly recommend this one.
Now I'm hoping his bandmates all get there own stories. (Fingers crossed!)
4 1/2 "Sleepless" Stars!
Kozart....new rockstar story....yes, please! Let me just say that I inhaled this yummy little treat in one day.
Kozart and Aubrey seemed to meet at the perfect time for each of them. She had just found her long time boyfriend cheating on her and he was tired of the casual easy and empty sex found in the rock'n'roll lifestyle. They meet in a hotel bar and she doesn't know who he is which he is intrigued by. She's a country music fan and doesn't listen to anything in his genre. So, when she acts as if she likes him, he can actually believe it's sincere and not because of who he is. For Kozart, this is something he can usually never really be sure of. They both have extreme trust issues for different reasons. Obviously, Aubrey has a hard time trusting because of the betrayal by her ex-boyfriend. Kozart grew up in foster care and things were never good. Then when he found success, he could never be sure if people liked him for who is truly is or the celebrity.
Even though Kozart has some cocky, alpha male behaviors, he can also be super sweet and really shows that side to Aubrey at times. When he does, you just want to curl up and savor it. He can be very swoon-worthy. That said, he makes some foolish decisions as well. Unfortunately there are times when I found myself shaking my head in frustration. I realize it helps to give the storyline a little more pop if they go through some bumps in the road, but this one felt so preventable that I had a difficult time getting behind it. Regardless, I really enjoyed the book as a whole. As a country music fan myself, I loved the blending of country music into the storyline. It definitely enriched the experience of the book for me. Aubrey and Kozart's relationship is such a fun one to watch develop and they definitely have some chemistry! It was truly satisfying when Kozart and Aubrey find their way back to one another. They were a couple definitely deserving of their HEA.

5 stars
Very rarely do I give out 5 star for a book. I love this book so much, it deserves more. J. Nathan
is my new go to author. Kozart blew me out of the park with this smart and fantastic writing and story! I loved the sarcasm, the banter and the plot.
This was a nice enough read but it lacked real character chemistry and felt too rushed, Aubrey’s personality seemed interchangeable at times, so nice read but the my favourite

For me this was a solid 3.75 star read. There were Pratt’s of the book that I really enjoyed but I felt as though the story was a bit rushed and I didn’t get to know the characters as well as I would have liked.
Both leads were both like able and I felt there was a definite connection between Kozart and Aubrey which definitely kept me interested in finishing the novel as I wanted to see how their romance played out.
I have always been a huge fan of college romances and rockstar romance books so this book worked well at combining these two worlds which I have not seen done well most of the time of in this genre.
Overall, this is a great and fast paced read. Definitely perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.
There is some fun with the rockstar romance genre here, but this was not my favorite. I didn't connect to the romance, or the characters, and wish there had been a better sense of place.
I adored the story. I thought he was wonderful. It was an engaging read.
It should have been an easy 5 stars, but there were some plot issues that were disappointing. As if she would leave her phone unlocked?! All this industry stuff about the actress came out of the blue and just didn’t seem right. And he turned up at places she was which is possible but need some explanation. His band mates were all very much unknown which was a bit odd.
I felt he was too good a character to be let down like this. She just wasn’t a character I could get my head around, I didn’t feel I knew her. I wanted to. And I liked that she was sassy rather than bossy. I just needed to have more of a glimpse of her.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.
Kozart is a rockstar romance story. It was a little predictable at times, but that can be said about almost any romance story with a popular trope. I read this book in almost one sitting, so it was obviously easy to read. check it out.
As the first book in this series, I loved getting to know Aubrey and Kozart. Aubrey has just found her boyfriend cheating on her, and Kozart helps her save face at her sister’s wedding. I loved the way Aubrey was a strong character who stood up to Kozart and made him realize he was going to have to show her he was worth trusting and loving. I can’t wait to see what else J. Nathan has in store for the next book!
Although I'm not the biggest fan of rockstar stories and I hadn't heard of J. Nathan, I still decided to give it a go. Okay, so it was the cover, which drew me in, but I really enjoyed the story. Aubrey is the typically nerdy girl, who got screwed over by her boyfriend (literally!) at her sister's wedding. So, while she is trying to get totally drunk, she meets a strange guy who offers to be her date for the rest of the wedding. And although Aubrey is no fan of flings, she really could use a guy to show her (as of now: ex-)boyfriend that she is over him already.
Kozart (better known as Z Savage, the rockstar) was trying to drink a beer without all the groupies crowding him, when he stumbles upon a cute drunk girl, who seems to have a horrible night. He offers his help, when he realizes she doesn't recognize him. When he helps her to her hotel room at the end of the wedding, he finds himself falling asleep next to her. Since Kozart is having trouble sleeping, due to his horrible past, he believes that Audrey is the reason he is able to sleep. Therefore, he wants to get to know her. But since Aubrey still doesn't know who he is, she is wary of the guy. Of course, he is cute and nice, but ever since finding out her ex-boyfriend was cheating on her, she is calling of all guys. But it is nice to have a friend. Therefore, Kozart en Aubrey banter as friends and it is quite hilarious.
But, when Aubrey finds out, who he really is, can they continue their friendship? Or will all the shouting groupies make this all impossible? Find out for yourself in this wonderful, cute and easy read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I'm a sucker for a good rock star romance and this book did not disappoint. Kozart is a huge rock star who had a very rough childhood and he thought it would be enough to make him forget his past. It doesn't work out that way for him. He meets Aubrey hiding out in a hotel bar and she has no clue who he is. She is also the one who can give him something that no one else can.
I really enjoyed Kozart and Aubrey's story. This book was an enjoyable and easy read. The characters were likeable and I loved the transition from friends to lovers. Aubrey is funny and gives Kozart plenty of flack. Their banter back and forth is great throughout the book. Kozart is a broken but very sweet man. Aubrey helps him navigate being a rock star while maintaining a friendship that blossoms into a beautiful relationship.
Snag this book if you're into a sweet rock star romance. I enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it to my friends!
Five Feel Good Stars!
What a beautiful story of finding your first love and fighting for them. For dropping walls, for changing your views and thoughts, for trusting someone and for fighting for your love.
Kozart and Aubrey are two characters you can’t help but root for. You can’t help but hope that through all the bullish!t that these two come out on top. That they both get their happily ever after.
What happens when a rock star falls in love with a regular college student. Well it isn’t easy and these two fight for their love.
Highly recommended.

Kozart is a standalone rocker romance by J. Nathan. This was definitely a pleasant surprise because it's my first time reading a novel by J. Nathan! I love me some rock star romance and Kozart definitely captivated my attention from the beginning. It was a page-turner and I didn't want to put it down. However, I do have to say at some point there were filler and just about their date-to-date life which wasn't that necessary. Nonetheless, I do love Aubrey as a character and Kozart is just the sweetest man! Though I have to say.... I'm not sure about the "Z Savage" name going there. This has a HEA with no cliffhanger!
Thank you again to Weapenry Co-Op and NetGalley to have generously giving me this eARC in exchange of my honest opinion!
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed Kozart and Aubrey's story. It was such a good mix of humor and heartache. Especially Kozart and his past. His character progression was great. I just had a problem with the plot point that caused the angst. It seemed pretty unrealistic and weak to me. Music fans don't really care if the musicians are in a relationship. I'm just glad he finally came to his senses and realized he is allowed to live his own life.
I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review. Aubrey is having a terrible day after finding her boyfriend cheating at her sister’s wedding when she meets Kozart. Unbeknownst to her he’s at the hotel bar unwinding from a concert, and he’s the lead singer. Their flirty banter seems to give him peace and clarity. While she was initially unaware she soon finds out about his superstar status but is more impressed by him as a man than his career. While they both face some bumps along the road, she has trust issues and he’s lacking support from his friends, their affection and friendship cannot be derailed. This is a nice sweet romance with lots of humorous side notes. 5 stars
5+ Rock Stars!
A must read! From the start, you will love Kozart. He's written brilliantly. Yes he's a rock god, but you truly get the sense from the entire story that there is more to this man and a great big huge heart underneath the bad boy persona.
When Z meets Aubrey when she's down and out, he soon finds charmed by the quick witted speech pathologist senior. This story just flowed greatly with Z and Aubrey meeting, connecting and going separate ways. I found the entire story fun and entertaining. The highs and lows of fame come to life in this story while highlighting a sad past.
Trust is a big theme throughout and Z makes you want to go there with him, no matter what.
Great read.
This for me is the perfect example of a 3* read.
It’s a nice easy, enjoyable book. It has likeable characters and a feel good ending.
While as a rule I’m not a fan or rock star or sports star romances. The blurb for this intrigued me.
Like I said it’s a nice easy read. I never felt I’d really got to know either of the characters, especially Aubrey.
At times when Kozart opened up about his past I truly felt for him.
“Why not?” He shrugged. “It’s mine. And I don’t have to share it unless I want to.”
My heart splintered. He’d never had anything of his own. This was his, and no one could take it away from him. “Thanks for sharing it with me.” He said nothing.
Aubrey on the other hand was all over the place. I never really got a lock on her.
As a result I wasn’t fully committed to them and their relationship.
So while it’s a pleasant read it’s not a book that will stay with me or one that I’ll ever re-read.
