This story is equal parts steamy and sweet, with a pinch of drama and a dash of complicated angst all wrapped up in a family sized packaged.

Meet Brody: Brody is a pro-footballer that has a lot riding on him. He is back to prove himself on the field and trying desperately to always be there for his little girl, Lily, after losing his wife only last year, under questionable circumstances. The paparazzi haven’t been kind and the guilt, pain and betrayal of it all is taking its toll on him.

Enter Mia: Mia’s friend offered her a job as a live in nanny right when she needed it the most. Far away from her family and the complications they bring with them, Mia is ready to start over and branch out on her own. Lily is a sweet heart and Mia falls instantly in love with the little girl. The problem? Mia is falling for Brody too.

I liked this read, it was well paced and both MCs were likable adults who had to deal with a lot of emotional baggage on both sides. Brody is definitely an alpha and has a bit of a dominate streak in him. Mia is definitely a more aggressive heroine than I’m used too. Some of the things she does to pursue Brody didn’t always sit well with me. I wish she would have stepped back, given Brody his space and let him chase her for a change. Than there was the way she dealt with her own past. My level of tolerance was definitely tested during the second half of this book but it does get better!

I loved Lily and I loved how Brody and Mia always put the little girl first. A lot of romances that deal with single parents tend to forget about the kid and have them fade into the background. Lily was a pretty well developed secondary character in this story, which was refreshing to see.

Memorable Moments:
The heat factor in this book is off the charts and full of steamy goodness :) Just gonna say that Brody has some pretty detailed fantasies and leave it at that.

Brody is a pro football player who comes home to find his sister has hired a very well educated nanny. Amelia and Brody have great chemistry between them and Lily loves Amelia. This book was HOT and the issues that came up are not typical in a romance, so I enjoyed something a little different with this book.

The Nanny Rules by new to me author Melynda Price, is hot read with a lot of heart. The two main characters have amazing chemistry and the author does a great job of creating longing and desire.

Amelia Renshaw recently graduated college with a master's degree in child psychology. She was hired to nanny four-year-old Lily, the daughter of NFL quarterback Brody Evans. Brody is a single dad and he and Lily have a wonderful relationship. His work schedule is quite demanding, so employing a nanny was a necessity. Amelia was hired by Brody's sister, while Brody was out of town. So needless to say, he was more than surprised to see a stranger in his kitchen that looked like Miss America, since he was expecting a Mrs. Doubtfire type. Amelia and Brody share an immediate attraction, and over time they fall into lust and love.

This story is nicely written and the characters are well-defined. I formed an immediate connection with both Amelia and Brody, and their sexy times are very steamy. Brody's hatred toward the press and Amelia's need to start a new life is quite compelling. Lily is beyond cute, and I loved the way the author created the new family dynamic. Overall, this is an entertaining novel that should be added to your TBR list.

Nope, nope, nope and nope. So much nope here.

Plot overview: Too-perfect-to-be-real Amelia is NFL player Brody’s new nanny. They have sex a lot. That’s about it.

This books starts right out with Brody finding Amelia half naked in his kitchen. He had no idea that his sister hired Amelia to look after his daughter, Lilly. And what new live-in employee doesn’t wander around her employer’s house in her underwear? (The answer is no one. No one does this. It’s just a plot contrivance to set up sexual attraction between Amelia and Brody)

At 5% of the story I’m already getting sick of reading about the “pebbled nipples” and hard-ons and clenching vaginas. Enough already! I get it. They’re attracted to each other. Never mind that they haven’t had so much as one grown-up conversation with each other, they’re ready to jump each other at first sight. Understood. Can we move on to the plot now?

The problem is that there isn’t any plot. Brody’s doing the whole “I can never love again” dance because his wife cheated on him before she died. Amelia doesn’t let anyone in emotionally because REASONS that involve a bad childhood that is only hinted at and never fully explored. But these romance novel cliches don’t equal an actual plot, so other than a bunch of sex and “this can’t be more” discussions, there isn’t much else going on here.

Then there was this randomness that irked me:

1. There’s a little drama with the guy Brody’s wife was cheating with, then there’s a little drama with a guy Amelia meets at the park, then there’s a little drama with Brody’s physical therapist...and none of it happens for any apparent reason. None of these things move the plot along in any way or do anything to further the romance between Amelia and Brody. I HATE drama for the sake of drama, and this book was FULL OF IT.

2. At one point, Brody is being an ass to Amelia. She rationalizes that the more he pushes her away and treats her like crap, the more he cares. Um...no, honey. That’s not how it works. He’s not being a dick because he cares. He’s being a dick because he’s a dick.

3. Amelia fell for Brody REALLY fast. I don’t know how much talking they were doing while watching Survivor together, but other than that, they’re barely together long enough to know anything of substance about the other person, let alone fall for them. It was pretty instalove-y.

4. Amelia certainly didn’t have a problem with sleeping with her boss. It didn’t even rate as a moral issue for her. That seemed odd to me. She’s having sex with a guy who pays her, and it never even really occurs to her that sleeping with him might not be the best idea she’s ever had. I questioned her intelligence at this point.

Long-story-short, I thought Brody was a dick, Amelia was an idiot and a doormat, and there wasn’t much of anything going on plot wise throughout the entire book. It’s basically just a bunch of random events linked together by sex scenes. I won’t be continuing on with the series.

I loved this story! There was so much sweetness and love throughout, along with great sexual tension and then sexy times. Brody is a quarterback. He and his daughter have been through a loss of a wife and mother, but Brody is suffering from more than the loss but also betrayal. He has a hard time accepting and trusting people into his life. Amelia is his daughter's new nanny and is an educated women who has had her share of family problems and is trying to make a difference in others lives with her career choice. And then you have Lily, the little girl who is the bright spot in both their lives. This is a quick read that gave me lots of feels. The characters are well developed and my heart ached at times for each one of them. I couldn't get enough of this quarterback, his Lily pad, and his new love of turtle shorts. This was my first time reading a book by Melynda Price and I know I'll be looking forward to more.

Brody is not only dealing with the aftermath of his wife’s death but the realization that their life was a lie. The only woman he needs in his life is his daughter Lily but balancing her needs and life as a professional football player is becoming more difficult. When his sister hires her friend Mia, he doesn’t want a beautiful woman living in the house but has accepted that it is necessary until the season is over.

Mia has a painful past of her own and she has studied to be a child psychologist so that other children don’t experience what she did. They are attracted to each other but is Brody willing to let a new woman in their lives or will it end in heartbreak for all?

Lily is a scene stealer and when misunderstandings occur Brody’s sister was there to save the day. This is a sweet and sexy story and the ending was enough to melt your heart.

The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price was a quick read with a bit of a forbidden romance. Brody is a widower who loves his daughter above all else. With a broken heart and no faith in love, he is determined to never love again. Enter Amelia. The nanny hired by his sister to help him during the season, as a top NFL player, he has a very demanding career. But Amelia stirs something in him and no matter how much he wants to deny it, he is falling for her.

Amelia loves working for Brody and his daughter. But what she never expected was to fall for her boss. Can they enjoy each other without getting feelings involved? With his heartbreak and her past, do they even have a chance? Do they follow the rules or risk it all? A quick and steamy read!

3.5-stars. Happy reading!

Melynda Price was a new to me author and the blurb caught my eye. The Nanny Rules is a steamy fast paced romance.
While, the plot was a little on the predictable side I still enjoyed reading this story. Brody is a single father and also an NFL quarterback who happens to fall for his daughters Nanny, Amelia. Now, his daughter, Lily, completely stole my heart. She is who I loved most in this story. The little girl lost her mother and her father stepped up and made sure he was there as much as possible for his sweet baby girl. Amelia also helped Lily and I LOVED their relationship and their bond with each other.
The chemistry between Brody and Amelia is there and lead to some few steamy scenes. Of course, they both tried to fight the attraction throughout the first half of the story but eventually something had to give.
Overall, this was an enjoyable story and for anyone who loves the single father/nanny romance trope with a little bit of sports mixed in this is one to check out.

overall not a bad story - it had an interesting plot. Hot in the normal spots. Fast-paced story with good characters.

A perfect guilty pleasure beach read! The Nanny Rules is kind of predictable and classic for this trope, but take it for what it is and enjoy this forbidden romance for the sexy, lighthearted read that it is.

Brody is broody and angry and all that good stuff after finding out that his late wife was cheating on him. But he’s a softie where his kid is concerned. He doesn’t want to take advantage of Amelia, but there’s something about the new nanny that he can’t stay away from. He doesn’t want a relationship, but Amelia kind of pushes the issue.

I’m giving this three stars bc I thought that as a psych major, Amelia could have behaved better. That bugged me a bit. But overall, this is a smutty good read with a happy ending, enjoyable characters and a group of friends I’d like to see get books of their own.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price is currently scheduled for release on August 12 2019. Since becoming a single father, I have two things that keep me sane—my daughter Lily and playing football for the NFL. But when my meddling sister hires a nanny without my knowledge, I’m not thrilled to come home and find the woman has taken over my house. Our instant attraction is one more complication I don’t need in my life. But my daughter loves Amelia, and I will do anything for that tiny munchkin. Even if it means walking around with blue balls most of the time. Why does the nanny have to be so sweet—and drop dead gorgeous? She’s driving me crazy. Never in my life have I wanted a woman more. I just need to make it through this season. I can do that. Hands free, of course. But then there’s that moment, and I know she’s thinking what I’m thinking and, well, yeah.

The Nanny Rules is a contemporary romance that hit all the sweet spots for the feels. Yes, it is the boo/nanny trope- but I love that Amelia loves Lily before even meeting her father. I liked that Amelia and Brody each have issues from their past that they need to deal with, issues of trust and hope that they need to work on for themselves before moving forward. I liked that while Brody and Amelia were guarding their feelings and their hearts, they both loved Lily and put her first in just about everything. I also enjoy the way Brody related to his team and coach, I liked that he had that support and camaraderie available to him. I just thought the connection between the characters, and their fears, were spot on and written very well. I found myself grinning or cringing as I read as they tried to find their way toward their own peace and their happy ever after. I liked the secondary characters as well. I want more about a few of Brody's teammates and coach, and his sister as well. The complications and struggles were all so real and heart felt that I was rooting for the characters right from the start.

The Nanny Rules is a wonderful contemporary romance that has a good balance of heart and heat. Readers that are particularly fond of the boss/nanny trope and sports romance will really enjoy it. I think this was my first read from this author, but it will not be my last.

I really enjoyed this one. It wasn't groundbreaking or new, but it was fun. I sat on the beach and it kept me entertained all afternoon. Quick and cute read.

This book was mixed for me. The start was ok, the middle was really good, the beginning of the end was really bad and the HEA was really sweet.
The only sensible people was Brody’s sister Julia, Amelia’s brother Mason and Brody’s daughter Lily.
Amelia is studying psychology at university and she knows a lot about PTSD and she lets you know. She becomes Lily’s nanny so she can take care of her during football season while Brody works for his team. Lily suffers from PTSD and you figure out that so does Brody. Amelia and Brody grows close and they both want more but there are a lot of obstacles to get through if they want to make it work🙏😒! They both become so frustrating at the beginning of the end and I just kept rolling my eyes and thought open your eyes and your mouths and COMMUNICATE.
But the ending was finally really cute and sweet when Julia opened up both their eyes and helped them figure out that they belonged together
So really mixed opinion from me but if you can look past their stupidity and the frustrations of the story then it is sweet, steamy and has a good HEA.

A hot and steamy read. Mia is doing what she loves while trying to heal her soul. Brody is recovering from a nerve wracking year. Lily is their common ground. Brody does not want to fall in love with anyone, especially his daughter’s hot nanny. Mia knows loving Brody is a huge risk. Separately and together they have to figure out if love is worth the risk. These two blaze a heated path across the pages as they reach for their fairytale ending.

***3 ‘Lily Pad’ Stars***

Sometimes things work, sometimes they don’t and, unfortunately, this book falls into the latter category for me. This one wasn’t horrible, there were sweet, smexy moments as well as some ovary exploding ones, but I just couldn’t get into Amelia and Brody’s journey. I liked both of them, I did, but things never went beyond that as the book progressed and I wish I could pinpoint why, but sometimes it’s just how the cards fell. But while I wasn’t fully invested in Amelia and Brody’s journey, I did love Lily. She was absolutely adorable and brought more than one smile to my as I read.

I really wanted to love this book as much as I have the other books the author has released, because she has some great couples that I’ve absolutely adored, but this one just didn’t go there for me. There are some issues that are brought up and for the most part I liked how she had Brody and Amelia work through them.

3 1/2 Stars!

Brody is a NFL player and he became a single dad when his cheating wife was killed in a car accident. His sister hires her friend Amelia to be Lily's nanny. Neither Brody or Amelia expect that the sparks will fly between.

This is a quick steamy read that is very predictable. Although enjoyed it, I was hoping for some unexpected twists and turns.

4 stars. This is a new author to me and I will definitely be looking out for her in the future. This is a nice and easy, breezy romance with some added heat and a good storyline. Even though it's not original storyline, it is one I do enjoy and this one is well written and flows nicely and the characters were wonderful and developed nicely. Brody is swoony and a wonderful single dad, but his heart has been jaded. Hiring Amelia (Mia) as his little girl's nanny brings some much needed sunshine into his life although with her comes complication because of how she makes him feel.
I enjoyed Brody and Amelia's story and watching their feelings grow and their dynamic change. I loved their interactions with sweet Lily. Such a wonderful heartwarming ending!

More about feeling and less football!

Amelia (Mia) Renshaw has been hired as the nanny for the daughter of quarterback Brody Evans by his sister because of her work with traumatized children and Lily Evans qualifies after her mother was killed in a car crash. Brody didn’t know he had a nanny so they were both surprised at breakfast.

When Mia and Brody are forced to act interact with each other, they find out they actually respect each other and love Lilly and want the best for her. Brody doesn’t want to be in the news like he was after his wife’s death and he knows that dating his nanny would cause a lot of gossip for both of them and he had enough of that. Brody wanted more from Mia but after the disaster of his first wife being unhappy he didn’t want to force her into making a choice about their relationship but Brody lets her know how he feels in a very public way in the book.

The Nanny Rules is more about the feelings between Mia and Brody and less about the football.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
