There are few better romance novel heroes than a hunky professional athlete who is a loving father to his little daughter. When star quarterback Brody, whose cheating wife died in a car accident, finds out that his sister has hired a beautiful woman who also has a master’s in psychology to be the nanny for his daughter, we all know what is going to happen between them. It’s all pleasant, if predictable.

The most unbelievable aspect of the novel is that he’s the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns and that they’re a playoff-caliber team. Yeah, that’s harder to buy than the hot nanny plotline.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Hello Brody. Really great book that I enjoyed reading. Read this in one night and couldn't put it down. I love sports romances and this one was so good. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brody is a NFL quarterback who lost his wife in a tragic car accident. He's struggling to keep up with his career and raise his daughter Lily. He hires Mia to be his nanny and there is an instant attraction between the two.

I'd give this book 3.5 stars. It was enjoyable but pretty predictable.

3 1/2 Star Review....

I’m a huge fan of Sports romance and was excited to read Melynda Price’s (a new author to me) account of this genre, and that aspect of the story was very good. Unfortunately, there were no real surprises in this story, as the dialogue and plot were fairly predictable throughout. I liked Amelia and Brody, but did find some of Amelia’s decisions perplexing for someone with a psychology degree, but as with most stories set in this trope, the saving grace was Lily. Kids can make or break a storyline, and this little nugget was adorable! So as long as you don’t set your expectations too high from the characters or plot, I’m sure readers will like this book for what it is; a quick, sexy, time filler to enjoy with your afternoon coffee.

Thank you to NetGalley for granting my request for an ARC of this book. The review below is entirely my own opinion.

Single-father, NFL quarterback falls in love with his daughter's nanny. I usually love sports romances and this story arc is also one I like which is why I requested this from NetGalley.

I would have to say that I enjoyed the first half, even if the plot is kind of predictable. But when we get to the part where Mia's past catches up with her, I don't understand (or like) how she handled things. Like seriously? Like, girl, what were you thinking? Clearly, you're not thinking. *rolls eyes*

If not for this lapse of judgment on Mia's part, I would've rated this higher.

This was the first book I've read from this author and I enjoyed it very much. It was very well written and a nice take on the familiar nanny-turned-love interest trope.

This book wasn't what I was expecting, not that it was bad but again I thought it was going tobe a little lighter. So we meet Brody who has lost his wife a year ago in an car accident where she was found in a car with one of his team mates proving that she was having an affair with him. He comes home to find Amelia a nanny whom his sister has hired. He is attracted to her but fighting it because he does not want to love and go thru suffering and betrayal again. Amelia is also attracted to Brody but really does not fight the attraction instead she seems to throw herself at him and want to convince him that he needs to let the pain go. I wanted to slap her sometimes I get that you want to help and that you like him but have a little self respect.

The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price a five-star read that will make you want to break all the rules. This starts as one story and then turns into something so much deeper and more honest. Lily was such a great character, I sometimes find children in novels to be a little to well done, but Lily had a realness to her, the little foibles and interactions were believable and well written that is what made this such a fantastic read. Amelia wasn’t someone I liked all the way through, at times I found I wanted to shake her, but in the end, I adored her and wanted to wish her well in everything. Brody was the one who played the long game, he made the most difference to the story, he went from broken man to player of my heart. This is a typical will they wont they, but its done very well.

After losing his wife Brody is doing what he can to be a good single parent, but with his busy work and game travel schedule sometimes it's hard to be there for his daughter. He knows he needs help, but admitting that fact is something he just won't do. His sister sees him struggling and steps in and hires a nanny for his daughter Lily while he is out of town, and the moment he wanders into his home and his eyes land on Mia he knows there is going to be a problem.

She is beautiful, good with his daughter, draws him in like a moth to a flame... and that is a complication he does not need right now. But he just can't bring himself to fire her...

As soon as I started this one I knew my heart was going to be in trouble, nothing says heart-tugging tale like a wounded single father adamant on not letting anyone close again for fear of falling. I had initially planned on reading a chapter before bedtime, but I ended up getting sucked into the pages of this story and wound up staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finish it. I loved watching "the dance" between Brody and Mia unfold, they had this undeniable spark that you could feel, but both were wounded by love and were determined to keep it out... but love just wouldn't take no for answer. Really enjoyed this one, it was a charming story brimming with feels and swoons, highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Amelia is just what Lily needs in a nanny. Too bad Brody says he wants her gone. Yet he can’t seem to let her go, especially when he sees how Ameila is helping Lily after her mothers’ death and maybe because there is just more than attraction between the two of them. I liked the characters and while it seemed cute at the beginning, as I kept reading, their story evolved into something more, even if it was rocky along the way.
This is the first book I have read by Ms. Price and plan to read more.

The Nanny Rules is about an NFL player who recently lost his wife and his nanny. I know this is a common trope in romances, but I thought this was well done.

Amelia and Brody’s relationship gives the readers insight to some first-sight lust, will they won’t they, and some angst. It is somewhat predictable, but then again aren’t a lot of romances?

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, steamy, somewhat angsty read. If you read a lot of romance you will enjoy this one! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cute and predicable story about a single dad and the nanny who is taking care of his adorable daughter. Lily was my favorite part, but even her character felt a little forced.

I loved the premise of this book - hunky quarterback, sweet daughter and a smart nanny to save the day. Nothing is better than than a story that showcases the the love a alpha male has for his daughter. Through is some forbidden love and you have yourself a great story! I enjoyed reading this story and could not put it down. The writing was a little bit "too much" like Ms. Price felt like if she did not exactly describe the scene we would not get it. All in all though it was a great story!

I think this book has the bones to be good, but overall it felt like it was missing information. I know one of the characters said she had emotional whiplash and honestly, that’s how I felt throughout this book. The story went from one misunderstanding to the next, and I never really felt the connection between the characters. That being said, I think the basics of the story were strong, and I think with a good edit, this book could be really good.
3 stars from me.

I really wanted to love this book. A single dad raising his daughter while still trying to have a successful career in the NFL falls foe his daughters caretaker.
Foot the most part I was excited to see what was going to happen between Amelia and Broady. They had chemistry from the beginning which lasted throughout the book. Both were hesitate to open their heart.
This would have been a higher rating but there was a time I didn't like Amelia. She knew how vulnerable Brody was and chose to lie to him. From then on I was indifferent about the book.
The ending was cute but these two were so hung up on not having a relationship that it ruined their relationship.

This book is an easy read, and not a bad way to spend a few hours. However, I personally wasn't riveted to the story and probably won't even remember what it was about in a couple of weeks. I had trouble connecting with either of the main characters, and I didn't feel the connection between the two of them either. This is my first book by this author, and I would give another book a try to see if I personally felt more of a connection with the characters/story. Lovers of sports romances may like this one a lot; it was just okay for me.

I like a good sports romance, so of course I was up for reviewing The Nanny Rules by Melynda Price. The book is a pretty predictable smutty romance book, so if that is your jam, I think you will really enjoy it. I liked it enough, but not enough that it really wowed me. For me it just felt like something was missing from it, but I don't know what it was.

I liked the heroine Amelia, but I found myself a little confused by her. We know right up front that she has a bad past, but it's never really brought up again for awhile until near the end. It causes a lot of what I felt was unnecessary drama between her and Brody.

Brody is definitely a complicated character. I did think he was a good dad, and that was nice to read about. I understood his hesitation to start things with Amelia because he really didn't want to be that "Guy who sleeps with the nanny." He was also still grieving over the loss of his wife and her betrayal. That has to be a really hard thing to go through.

I do think I found an error, but it might be fixed in the final version. At one point, Amelia finds out that Brody's wife had cheated on him, but then she never brings it up with him that she knows. Later, he admits it to her but she reacts as if it was the first time she is hearing it. It was kind of confusing.

I do think I was a little frustrated with their inability to commit to each other, so this made me not like this book as much as I could. It was a little predictable, but sometimes I think that is okay in romance books, especially if you are looking for that.
