Being a survivor myself, I felt I owed it to the author to read this book. My heart is sad that this book brought me back to that time. The book was great though. I was hoping for a better ending but, this is how most cases of rape wind up. I do think this book should be on all high school library shelves. It showed every part of what happens after rape. I'm proud of myself for getting through it.

Absolutely harrowing and powerful. It's interesting how you know what happens as soon as you read the title but this doesn't take anything away from the emotional impact of the story. A brave book that is clearly from someone who understands the subject matter.

This is a hard story to tell, to live, to read. But Rape Girl does the topic justice as we follow Valerie through this journey.
