Lasting Impact of Positive Leadership
By Stan Toler
4 stars
The book outlines modern or current ideals about leadership strategy and the impact upon people. It works from a positive mind thinking strategy that will lead to habit building.
Once the mindset is established points to coaching as best practice for leadership development and performance improvement. Using sporting analogies, it points to leaders leading by principle, through training others perform.
There are some ‘winning’ strategies the book refers to: Train other; Build winning relationships; monitoring performance; and the giving and receiving feedback.
There are numerous practical strategies for the development of leaders. Those training leaders, coaching others, and those stepping into leadership roles will benefit from this title.

A good help to improve your leadership skills
Having been an international speaker and author of multiple books, Stan Toler wrote "The Lasting Impact of Positive Leadership", published by Harvest House Publishers. In this interdiction he asks the readers a number of challenging questions: "Where are you as a leader? What defines you as a leader? Is it more about your performance versus your attitude? Is it more focused on self-leadership versus servant leadership? How do others perceive you? Are you modeling godly leadership or leadership dictated by "the pressure of achieving successful result"?" He also states that development of a positive attitude is the first conscious step toward becoming an effective leader.
The various topics of the chapters are introduced by quotes but Toler also used Bible verses in the development of these topics and further quotes. The topics treated are all related to the power that will help people to have a lasting impact in their leadership, e.g. "The Power of a Positive Mind", "The Power of Modeling Mentorship", or "The Power of Courage in Challenging Times." The book also contains notes that will help readers to dig deeper into the treated topics.
Tolver's goal was to help others to become successful leaders, to motivate, and to inspire. This is the first book which I read by this author and I can highly recommend it. It is well developed and helpful for readers who are in leadership and do not want to stay how they are, but who want to improve their leadership skills, no matter if it is in a church, a ministry, in the workplace, or in a community.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Stan Toler: The Lasting Impact of Positive Leadership
For decades, Stan Toler’s work in the field of leadership helped many business and church leaders develop effective ways of encouraging employees and members. His plethora of illustrations was something that could be counted on in many of his presentations and books.
This latest book is a great legacy of Toler’s teaching. It contains many uplifting stories, events, and quotes that will continue to inspire a whole new generation of ministers and managers. It is a great gift for anyone starting a new business or a pastor beginning in a new church. Every page contains examples of good and solid leadership positively influencing other people. I have practically highlighted and made notes on many pages. The ten chapters focus on optimistic ways of influencing others, as well as providing models of leadership excellence and encouragement which will enable leaders to effectively manage challenges and conflicts that come their way.
This is a five-star book that will be used frequently by those who want to make a difference in their churches, workplaces, and communities. Stan Toler’s will continue to positively impact and influence those who admire and know his work well.
Not a light read, but digs deep to motivate and inspire. Gives positive and in depth knowledge of how you can learn to be the best leader you can. Leadership is something that is learned and this is a good resource especially for young people looking to motivate those who work under their leadership.
