I understand how some readers are a little put off by the unrealistic plot development, yes it's fanciful but i thought overall it was well done, zipped a long and was enjoyable to read and I will look for more books by the author.
Another fantastic novel from Sarah alderson. Full of twists leaving you wondering who you can trust. Action packed throughout meaning I didn’t want to put it down right to the final page.
This was a real edge of your seat thriller, with so many twists and turns, you wont know which way is up! Fantastic and gripping read!
Eh. I've read a few books by this author and have mainly loved them buy this one just didn't work for me. Story felt flat and I kept putting the book down.
Great thriller which I could not put down. Brilliant characters, and twists and turns. Highly recommend to others!
Ava and Robert have a seemingly perfect home and family life; Robert has made his money with a successful internet app and the business he now runs based on that. They live in their mansion with her 12 year old daughter June, stepson Gene and their eldest daughter Hannah is studying in New York. One night though armed men break into their house, leaving Ava and Robert injured and June in a coma. What started as an engaging premise soon veers into the whole “mom as vigilante/amateur sleuth” theme which I don’t love when somehow the victim with no experience in law enforcement discovers things any mediocre cop would have found. Ava had no law enforcement experience and ends up talking tough and taking on "wise guys" which made the story lose credibility to me. this didn't work for me
So many twists and turns! Gripping from the very start and keeps you guessing. Couldn't put it down. Excited to read more from the author in the future!
First, I do want to apologize to the author and publisher for my delay in reading the digital review copy I was given. I was very new to NetGalley when I requested this and I misunderstood a few things. While I know the ideal is to read the book before publication day, I mistakenly believed that I absolutely had to read it before the archive date. I thought that meant, like a library loan, that the digital copy would be revoked. It seems silly now, in retrospect. Having fallen behind on ARCs at the time and feeling there was no way I’d be able to get to this before that archive date hit, I sent this to “will not be able to give feedback.” Now that I am a seasoned NetGalley user and understand what that archive date actually means, I promised myself I would circle back to this and do the right thing.
With that being said, I’m just going to provide my feedback here on NetGalley, but not rate and review this publicly. I pushed myself to the 43% mark and I am clearly not the right reader for this. I really dislike the story.
I do feel like these over-the-top soap opera dynamics have been done way too many times before. Additionally, this is more of a domestic suspense, which wasn’t what I’d expected from the synopsis.
I feel like Ava is meant to be a sympathetic character, but I cannot stand her. She’s dishonest, judgmental, and unpleasant. It’s really difficult to feel for her circumstances because of who she is and I am immensely annoyed with the storyline between her and Nate.
There is such great implausibility and naïveté in everyone’s actions, making it even harder to find any enjoyment within the story.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to read and review this and I clearly made a mistake in requesting it. I expected something much different with more suspense and action. I know seeing it through won’t result in a good rating publicly for this author, so I’m going to move this to my abandoned shelf on Goodreads.
This was so twisty and so compelling it made me miss my bus stop and ride all the way to the end of the line!
Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of In Her Eyes by Sarah Alderson.
Ava, and her husband Robert live a peaceful and ordinary life with their daughter June, and Robert's son Gene. But their lives are completely overturned after a violent home invasion leaves their daughter seriously injured. Was the attack random, or was it planned? And by whom?
This is a domestic suspense novel that definitely fulfilled all of the requirements for a fun summer read. Lots of secrets, twists and turns, deceptions. It's written well, if not a bit over the top, but it's definitely coherent and readable. I can't say that it blew my mind, or that it was totally unforgettable, but it you're looking for a fun beach escape, this will do it!
A great, fast paced thriller with a well developed storyline and characters. Very suspenseful with twists and turns that had me questioning everyone up until the very end. Would definitely recommend this author to all readers that enjoy thrillers.
Thanks to Netgalley and Mulholland for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

My thanks to Netgalley and Hodder and Stoughton for a copy of “ In Her Eyes” for an honest review.
This was my first read from Sarah Alderton and I I generally don’t go for books set in American, but I was pleasantly surprised .
I thought the book flowed well and hooked you from the beginning, although I must admit as the book continued I found it became a little far fetched and all finished a bit too neatly.i
I’ve given it an average score for a decent read
Fast paced, well written and with characters that have depth, this is a absorbing thriller which keeps you guessing. Very enjoyable.
Thank you Hodder & Stoughton and NetGalley for this book.
Wow, wow and wow again! This was my first book by Sarah Alderson and hopefully won't be my last.
To say when I was reading I was on the edge of my seat is a slight understanding.
Very well written, good characters and lots of twists and turns and very unpredictable. Highly recommend
When can I have another book by Sarah please? .
This book kept me perched on the edge of my seat, too scared to move in case I missed something! It was full twists and turns, and I couldn't wait to finish it. Recommended.
This was a brilliant psychological thriller that gripped me from the very first page. A book that I couldn’t stop reading full of tension and drama.
The pacing of In Her Eyes was fast, sometimes too fast. The twists and turns came at you faster than the ones in a telenovella! Sarah Alderson created a main character that just wasnt believable - her change from meek and mild to courageous and brave was too fast, and her impetuousness came off as irritating. The overall story was entertaining but not riveting.
I received my copy from NetGalley under no obligation.
Sarah Alderson's thrillers are always incredibly addictive and mysterious. This one was fun escapism but had quite a crazy ending.
A story about how privilege is not as great as it may seen. I liked the premise and the characters and the way the story built. Not everyone gets this right but this author has. Look forward to reading more books by this author. 5/5.
