Great way to start the day. Very easy to read and quick daily read or any time you may need a pick me up or when you may not have a lot of time. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

Combining recipes and the Word -- this is excellent for those looking to "spice" up their morning devotional while cooking a delicious breakfast.

Bible and Breakfast by Asheritah Ciuciu is a delightful blend of devotional passages and breakfast recipes. I love this author’s devotionals as always and here it is even better when attached to interesting recipes. This book is perfect for busy moms trying to cook healthy breakfasts and still get a few moments with God, but I think it would appeal to people of many ages. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Even when you’ve made the decision to be more intentional about Bible study every day, it can still be difficult to know where to begin. If this is you, I highly recommend Asheritah Ciuciu’s book Bible and Breakfast: 31 Mornings with Jesus.

This book is a wonderful resource for busy moms who want to get serious about time with Jesus. A great way to incorporate devotions into your day, is to include it with something you already do–like eat breakfast!

Devotions for every day
Bible and Breakfast has thirty-one devotions, and thirty-one tasty, healthy breakfast recipes. My favorite part is that there are two options for every day. If you’re short on time one morning, you can “snack on the go” with a quick read and a thought to ponder during the day.

If you have more time, Asheritah invites you to “feast at the table” with a longer devotional, Scriptures to read and study and questions to answer. No matter which entry works best for your schedule, you have a Biblical foundation for every day.

Recipes to enjoy
Bible and Breakfast also contains a wide variety of recipes. And you don’t have to worry about trying to do them in order! Just pick and choose the ones that work for you.

There are some that are quick, and ready for an on-the-go morning, or can be made ahead. Examples include: Make-Ahead Breakfast Burritos, Marathon Chocolate Energy Bites, Good Morning Smoothies and Microwave Oatmeal Bowls.

If you have more time to sit down and enjoy a meal, there are recipes for that, too. Here are some of my favorites: Sheet Pan Morning Healthy Hash, Sunshine Waffles, Savory Bacon and Corn Pancakes and Quinoa Breakfast Bowls.

One of my goals for this year has been to eat healthier, and cut sugar. These recipes are all sugar-free, and good for you and your family! Many of the recipes are also kid-friendly.

I received a copy of Bible and Breakfast: 31 Mornings with Jesus from the publisher in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own, and a favorable review was not require.

What can I say? A touch of devotion with my coffee..I loved this! I am a Christian, but I am not heavily involved in church as much as I should be, and want to be. This book, not only has some rocking breakfast recipes, but gives me what I need to get in touch with God every morning. What works for me may not work for someone else either. I am really glad I had the opportunity to read this book. I would recommend this to all my fellow moms out there.

Just when I think I couldn't love Asheritah and her writing any more, I got to read this beautiful book that she's written in effort to help women establish a regular connecting time with the Lord in the mornings!
Asheritah is so down to earth an writes from her heart and her personal experiences. She's so easy to connect with, especially for moms, as she is a mother of 3. She radiates grace, especially in this book. I love how she has formatted the book for both days when you only have a few minutes to get your heart focused on the Lord as well as days when you have more time to dig deeper and linger in the Word.
The recipes included are all really simple and most of them can be made quickly...and they're all pretty healthy too! The pictures are stunning. I would have loved to have had a hard copy in my hands!
I will definitely keep this book on my "gift-giving" list and I highly recommend it to anyone who is seeking help with establishing a morning connection time or even just looking for some creative breakfast ideas! It is really simple, practical, and encourages you to start small. I was very encouraged by reading this book and I love that it has reminded me to make time with the Lord each morning a priority, even when I get interrupted by my kids and "real life"! In fact, Asheritah even encourages you to include your kids in on this time, and model to them how to make this special time with the Lord a priority.

This is an enjoyable and soothing book. I recommend it, It is perfect for Bible study and healthy eating. This is nice for personal use, but it would be interesting to use in a study group too as something to discuss how they enjoyed it and even bring in a few of the recipes and discuss the lessons as a Bible study group, it is a wonderful idea. While it is designed to help you start your day with the Bible, I can see it as a way to share with others too and a way to get the most from the book possible. We are busy and it is difficult to get everything done we want including breakfast, Bible study and our morning routine. This book is a way to help. It has 31 devotions and recipes designed to help. The recipes are quick with substance including areas for journaling and the recipes even with kid-friendly as well as freezer-friendly options and you get great photos too.

Review Title: Taste and Know Goodness (Review of Bible and Breakfast by Asheritah Ciuciu)
Reviewer: Janice Garey
***** 5 Stars

This lovely devotional feeds the soul and fuels the body. It uniquely offers choices in how to approach each day's reading and use of the book. This works well to fit with real life that has abrupt schedule changes on a regular basis. On some days the reader may have a chunk of time to devote to Bible study and other days a five minute devotional time is all that can be found. Formats for both are within this devotional. The short devotionals are called snacks. They tide the reader over to the longer Bible study times. This helps keep the reader from feeling guilt when unforeseen disruptions to plans for time alone with God happen.

In addition to the short or longer devotional Bible studies, a delicious recipe for a breakfast food is presented. The offerings appear to be original and ones that would please all but the most picky eaters. These recipes are tried and true for the author and are keepers. After use as a devotional, the book deserves space on the cookbook shelf of home libraries.

For the Bible study sections, the author uses the teaching style of asking deep thought provoking questions about the reading. This prompt to dig into scripture for the answers works well as a motivator to learning. The book does not have a section with suggested answers to the questions, but the author's website may have a leader's guide with that information available online.

This book would work well for a ladies' Saturday morning gathering to cook the recipe, dig into Bible study, and enjoy breakfast together. Or, instead of Saturdays, a group of homeschool moms could do this several days a week while their children study together.

The many options for use of this book is a refreshing joy. It would fit the needs of all ages of adult ladies. The book teaches the discipline of Christian hospitality to those who choose to invite others to join them in Bible and Breakfast studies.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book in ebook format from #netgalley for reading and giving an honest review. I would prefer a hardcover to utilize this book as a cookbook, but for group studies, the ebook version would be sufficient. I have read the book and given my honest opinion. I have no obligation to give a good review. I have not tried the recipes, but they appear to be easily accomplished with an expected good result.

I recently finished reading the new book Bible and Breakfast: 31 Mornings with Jesus--Feeding out Bodies and Soul Together by Asheritah Ciuciu. The title caught my eye as one of my goals as we started this school year was to have a homemade breakfast as a family every morning. Let's say we didn't get much further than the first few weeks although we still have something homemade every once in a while. Back to Bible and Breakfast, Ciuciu does a great job of providing a variety of breakfast recipes but the Bible aspect is definitely the selling point. For each day she includes two devotions. The first she calls a "snack" which is a quick devotional. The second she calls a "feast" which is more of a full-on Bible study. In these studies, Ciuciu has readers using several different parts of the Bible, has questions to think about, models different Bible study methods, and encourages a variety of prayer prompts. There is a lot of good content here that is not just a Bible study but teaches individuals how to study the Bible. Each "snack" and "feast" is interesting, but I did not discern a topical theme that goes throughout the entire month of studies.

The idea of Bible and Breakfast is great. I really like the two devotions per day format as I can see someone reading the "snack" in the morning and then completing the "feast" later in the day during nap time. I also liked that although the tags line is "31 mornings with Jesus" the book could really be used for two months or if you skip weekends, even longer. I think the target audience for this book is young moms or moms who are at home, are self-employed, or otherwise have schedule where they don't have to be in the office at 8. As such, this book is a great option for Christmas presents for the women in your life.

A novel concept. Combining breakfast recipes with Bible Study. So simple, so practical.
I liked the pairings of recipes to Bible Study pieces. What was especially good was that the Study is in two parts - the "Snack on the Go", for "THOSE" mornings and "Feast" for the days when you have more time. The fact that there is space for you to make your own notes etc is great. It turns the book into a journal of sort and is great to go back to time after time and reread or perhaps edit thoughts.
The indications of "freezer-friendly" and "kid-friendly" with the recipes are brilliant.
The personal anecdotes from the author make it feel "chatty" and friendly to work through. The author isn't "preachy" - she comes across as your normal kind of Mom, living her Faith.
Sustenance for both body and Soul.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.

I received an ARC of this book from Moody Publishers via NetGalley, this review is my personal opinion.

I must say that when I read the title of the book it caught my attention, I love breakfast and bible study; so to find a book that has the two things together was a lovely surprise.

I know I am not alone on this, we try to start a Bible Study and something happen and we get far behind, this book is unique in that aspect; because it gives you two choices for each day, a short version called Snack on the go. FEAST at the table, wich the longer nd complete and deeper Bible study. The only thing I didn't like on this one was a bit long and I found it a bit hard since you need time and if you have to work or any other responsibilities it's a challenge.

You can see that this is a book made with love, with colorful photos and easy and healthy recipes. It gives an extra unexpected plus. So, overall I recommend this book because it has a good biblical foundation, well structure, with two options for you to choose for the daily study, either for someone building a habit or for someone already have it.

Personal Rating: 4.62 Star Rating: 5/5

Hungry for more of God's Word while living a busy lifestyle? Trying to develop family devotions? Wanting to establish a better routine? If so, Bible and Breakfast is the encouragement you need. God has used blogger, Asheritah Ciuciu, to bless many women by helping them fit more time with Jesus into their daily living.

This is a devotional/recipe book. The recipes focus on physical health while the devotionals focus on spiritual health. The devotions have two options for each day. Both focus on the same Scriptures, but the "snack" option is used when your time is crunched and the "feast" option is used when you make time to linger with the Lord. The snacking is no less than the feasting, but sometimes we want to go deeper into Scriptures so the feast option is a wonderful option.

Unfortunately, I've been without a camera as my phone is being repaired so I have no pictures to show of the breakfasts I've made. I can say that they taste as great as they look! The devotions are engaging. The combination made me look forward to making breakfast and having time with the Lord. Ciuciu uses many Scriptures to back up her thoughts and gives ways to apply them to your daily life.

This is an especially wonderful book to use personally. It also works well to use as family devotions or with your teens as you help them start their day. It's definitely a book that I will continue to use and one that I can refer to again and again.

Asheritah Ciuciu's passion for getting women into the word is obvious in her new book, Bible and Breakfast. In the book, she encourages women to begin (or continue) a lifelong habit of starting each morning in God's Word as they eat breakfast. The idea is that while we feed our physical bodies, we would allow God's Word to feed and satisfy our souls..

Bible and Breakfast includes 31 entries, but Asheritah invites readers to skip around or take their time if needed. While she does provide 31 days of reading and study, I do appreciate the Aheritah makes sure readers know there is grace. She says, "There is no one-size-fits-all Quiet Time formula in teh Bible because God made each of us one-of-a-kind. God is after our hearts, not our chiecklists."

Each day's entry includes a breakfast recipe as well as a "spiritual snack" for those days when you're on the go, and a spiritual FEAST for those days when you have more time to spend in the Word. The "snack" is a short morsel to consume and meditate on all day while the FEAST is a more inductive approach that includes these sections: Focus on God, Engage the Text, Assess the Main Idea, Spark Transformation, and Turn to God in Worship. Readers are invited to choose what they need for the day, because either way, they're putting God first. She also encourages this as a time for moms to help model for their children what it means to begin the day with God in His Word.

As she invites readers to "Taste and see that the Lord is good," Asheritah takes readers on a journey to make abiding in God's Word a priority. This is an amazing resource that I highly recommend, whether you're new to the Word or you're looking to bring freshness to your spiritual life. And some of the recipes are pretty tasty, too! Readers will also find some helpful resources at her book-related website as she invites them to join with other women in the journey--either in local small groups or online.

This book is exactly what it claims to be: breakfast recipes and some help getting into the Bible every morning. I like the combination!
Every day opens up with a full-colored picture of the recipe for the day with ingredients and instructions, followed by a brief personal story explaining the recipe, the way the author feels about it and why she included it in the book. I like the way she set the picture and recipe first, and kept the story short and sweet. As much as I like food blogs, I tend to scroll straight down to the recipe, because I tend to be in a hurry. But then I miss the story, which is often interesting but too long and too full of pictures.
The Bible study section follows the recipe and we're given two options: a short "snack on the go", with a cute illustration of a to.-go cup, or a "feast at the table", with a proper mug of coffee (or tea). The longer devotional is an inductive study with questions to guide you through the passages for that day.

The studies are personal and easy to understand. Ciuciu is passionate about Jesus and about busy women, especially mothers, finding time to connect with Jesus on a daily basis. She also likes food and encourages women to prepare healthy meals for their families and themselves.
While the book is presented as a 31 day devotional, there's no need to feel under pressure to make the suggested breakfast of the day, every single day. I can see myself trying out different breakfasts on weekends or as lunches or even dinners sometimes. The recipes look delicious!

I think I will purchase a printed copy of this book when it becomes available in my country. It would make a beautiful gift.

What can I say? I love the concept! I love the format. I love the thought-process behind the creation. There is a lot of good stuff here. However, I think you have to be a person who feels comfortable adapting – because the book is definitely difficult to execute in the way that it is designed. The good news is that the author gives you permission to deviate.

The big picture approach to this book is doing a morning bible study over breakfast. I love that each day Ciuciu provides a quick study option and a more in-depth study option. You choose what works best for you on any given day. Ciuciu also provides a breakfast recipe. They all look delicious, but honestly, I can’t imagine that anyone is trying new breakfast recipes thirty-one days in a row!

In regards to the studies, the quick option only requires reading and contemplation. Usually, the Bible verses are quoted – at least in part – for you. The in-depth version definitely requires more involvement. It requires that you actually reading in your Bible. Ciuciu provides thoughtful questions to allow you to ‘engage the text.’ The follow-up sections are devised to have you assess the main idea, spark transformation, and turn to God in worship.

As far as the content, the studies are written with women in mind – but there is no clear topical direction. I think each day is just something relatable to women. It’s not necessarily on stress or children or prayer. It presents a variety of topics. That’s not a bad thing! I just wanted to make it clear because I think that point is missing from the general overview of the book.

Even though the book stands on its own just fine, Ciuciu has developed a website to provide additional support. The website wasn’t live at the time of this review, but on it Ciuciu intends to provide printable reading plans, leader’s guide, discussion questions, and so much more. I think it will be a nice bonus feature.

I imagine you will see this book making its way through many church circles! I hope to gather my own circle or two and dive deeper into these studies – and recipes! I will be blogging about my experiences at www.Patch405.com.

I love the idea of this book and plan on buying a hardback copy as soon as possible. I think combining a cookbook and devotional is genius. I looked over some of the recipes and most were easy and kid-friendly (which is a plus with my 5 yo!) There are short devotions for busy mornings and longer ones for days where you can digest (literally & figuratively).

Bible and Breakfast gives you not only food for your spiritual devotion but also a new quick breakfast recipe to enjoy with your reading. It is calming and quieting to sit and enjoy not only a satisfying breakfast but a fulfilling devotion. I look forward to making the delicious sounding recipes. Some days I may only have time to read the "snack" while other days a will enjoy the "feast". I believe that I will enjoy this book for far longer than 31 days. I received a copy through Netgalley. I was not required to write a review.
