An easy but meaningful read, that offers several insights into seemingly common topics. Hudson's years of experience as a motivational speaker, encourages the reader to put her pointers into practice to live an inspiring life that brings meaning not only to oneself, but to the world one leaves behind as well. An uplifting book that strengthens your self-belief and motivates you to do more and be more.
This is a quick and generally easy little read about a very deep topic. For many people, talking or even thinking about the end of their life is uncomfortable. Yet, Hudson has framed the concept of legacy in the here and now.
I was particularly excited to read this book as one of my life goals is to "Leave a lasting legacy". Hudson frames out how to go about deciding what you want your legacy to be, no matter whether it's financial, material, biological, or values based. She then provides a number of practical steps to begin moving forward in creating that legacy.
The writing style is casual and friendly. Multiple current and historical figures are used as examples. Hudson has done a good job of crafting story and how to into a book that is just simple and easy to read and quite pleasurable.
Though I'm much older now, I still appreciate this valuable book, Leave a Legacy that Counts. You are never to old or to start on a better road. A book that can be passed down and advice that is very timely.

Terrie Davoll Hudson has written a short, interesting book about leaving a legacy behind not at some future date when you are facing death but now. It is important to measure what you achieve and the impact you have on your family, community and the world.
The thing is that you leave a legacy behind anyway based on your impact on other people, your environment, your world and the way you live, the way you speak and the actions you take. The question, then is, do you want to leave a legacy behind by default or by design?
“Elements of a legacy that count include reputation, actions repeated over time, and character. A good legacy is fuelled by your aspirations, attitude, truthfulness and authenticity.”
Your character is your essential nature that is formed over time or as Terrie says “your virtual business card” which you carry with you every day of your life.
It is most important to be intentional as you pursue your goals and pursuit of your legacy. “You are the author and illustrator of your life.” Your legacy counts so work on it today.
I recommend this book as an inspirational reading. I also recommend you check out her website – https://terriehudson.com.
I give the book a 4 out of 5 stars.

Easy to read and it gives a lot of ideas to help you become a better version of yourself. I am not a fan of self-help books, but this was a surprisingly easy read, not boring nor repetitive at all. Highly recommend it. You should read this, you won’t be dissapointed.

Honest and in-depth advice for reaching your full potential. This advice is presented in easy to follow language that can be broken up and applied in pieces at a time.
Leave a Legacy that Counts is a interesting book. It has some good points and advice. The writing is good.
I received an ARC from NetGalley. I do agree that this book is for everyone because everyone wants to leave a legacy. This book gives examples of different legacies in a wonderful story.
My favorite part was when she said, "whether you are ten, thirty, or sixty years old, now is the time. The sooner you begin, the more fruitful your legacy will be during your lifetime." As I read the book I thought back to all the people and the legacies I received and carry with me. It is something I think I just took for granted and didn't think much about. Reading the book makes me think about them but also makes me think about what I will leave for others. I also want to teach my children and grandchildren to think about the legacy they will leave others. I feel blessed with all the things I carry with me that I received from others and I would like others to look back and think about what they carry from me.
I think most people think about their legacy when they are old but this book will teach us that we can teach others about creating their own legacy starting at a young age. It will make them think as they grow, what do I want others to remember and carry with them from me. I think this is a book that people are going to buy, share it with their children and grandchildren and it will become part of their legacy that they instill in others. As I was reading this on my kindle, I kept thinking I can't wait to buy the book and share it with them, make comments, highlight, and when I pass it on, it will be a gift that they will treasure and think of me. I will buy one for each of my grandchildren because I really do believe this will be a wonderful part of my legacy I will leave them.
