I have to applaud Andersen for taking the hard road with her hero. This book was not easy to read but it was a solid read once all was said and done.

A total loser for a hero character. I understand writing a book about redemption, but this character sucked. I was extremely impatient with him and in real life, I would have told him to quit whining and be responsible. Plus maybe rendered a kick to the seat of his pants. Alas, didn't happen in the book.

I am not sure how to rate a story that is well-written but has a character so horrible. I'm going with 2 stars.
