This series had me in a chokehold. I really love Meyer’s stories, and this one was no exception. Give me all the morally-grey characters.
This ending was absolutely epic but also my heart at the final big reveal and the fact that this is the last book is extremely inappropriate. Either way, loved this in all of the ways definitely read the whole series
THE GRIP THIS SERIES HAD ON ME! This is one of those series I wish I could pick up and read again from the first time.
Absolutely love this series and the heroes. This book is perfect for anyone who loves superheroes and villains. A perfect balance between reality and fantasy.
A fast read and satisfying conclusion to an unusual trilogy with Meyer's trademark dystopia paired with well developed characters navigating a hard world.
Marissa Meyer never disappoints and this book is no exception. While not her usual fairytale retellings this was still an enjoyable read.
This was a wonderful conclusion to an exciting and well paced trilogy.
This story picks up after Nightmare's heist. Nova is on the verge of being discovered, Max is fighting for his life and Adrian will do anything to capture Nightmare. (talk about starting off with a bang!)
Every page had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. I literally read this book in one sitting. The entire trilogy was seamless from beginning to end. The world building and depth of the characters made me feel like I knew them personally.
I would highly recommend this series!
To say I am a Marissa Meyer "fan" would be an understatement. I love all of her books, own them, and read them often. I don't know if I am in her typical demographic- a 32-year-old mom with 5 children- but certain aspects of her books really speak to me because of my background (the family loyalty, trying to figure who you are individually in all of that, value of an individual vs. safety of a group as a whole, etc...).
First off, there are many things that I loved about this book. Meyer does a phenomenal job of writing action scenes, and the feelings that characters go through while experiencing through them. When I was growing up, my dad would always laugh when we would read these intense action scenes in a story, only to be interrupted by the main character stopping to explain the vanilla scent of someone's hair or how the dress/suit hugged their curves, etc... Meyers does a tasteful job of balancing action and character development, and it doesn't feel forced.
This excerpt killed me. I have no idea why I even read it when I knew I was going to suffer until the books release. I adore this trilogy and am so sad it's over.
I really enjoyed this whole series. And for me, this was a satisfying conclusion. The epilogue may have actually been my favorite part.
I always love Marissa Meyer's books, and this one was no exception! I loved the characters, the world, everything! The ending was incredible! I would definitely recommend this series to a lot of people, and I have! I'm looking forward to more of her releases in the future!
Great series! Meyer does a good job of pulling the reader in and wanting to know what happens to all these characters. Would recommend this series for folks who enjoy superhero movies, comics, etc.
A fantastic and very satisfying ending to a marvelous series. I have already begun to eagerly handsell it.
I love this series and I will definitely review this book in full on Instagram when I finish it. Since this was a sample, I won't be posting a full review based on it. I'm grateful for the chance to read this preview and I'm looking forward to completing this series!
Overall, it's a good book but I don't think it's the conclusion that we all wanted. There are still answers left unanswered and there's a huge room, I think, that there will be another book or at least a spinoff. If not, I'm going to cry my eyes out. A lot of things happened in this book but they were so spread out. The first 30% was meh then something big happens. From 50-85%, things still happen but not as intense and then in the last 15%, that's when all hell breaks lose.
I love love love the characters in this book and the plot but this was not how I wanted this book to end.
One of my absolute favorite books of 2019! This was probably my most anticipated book and it was everything I could have ever wanted and then some. I’m just sad that this series is over.
This book was truly an amazing conclusion to an amazing trilogy. There were so any twists and turns, but not in an annoying where you're led to believe one thing and then it's not true and then it is blah blah blah on and on. This is my favorite book Marissa Meyer has ever written and one of the best books I've read not only this year, but in my lifetime.
I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
The perfect finale to a fabulous trilogy!! I couldn't put this down from the moment I picked it up, and read it in one sitting! Twists and turns and SOOOO much action. Just awesome. We also got the teeniest little nugget of something at the end (no spoilers!) that TOTALLY set us up for a spin-off or continuation, and I am HERE FOR IT!
Well done!
We purchased multiple copies of this novel for our library, and none of them have made it on the shelf since November--this is a great conclusion to one of my favorite series.
First of all, lets discuss that cover. It's gorgeous! I am not a fan of super heroes because the world is very black and white. However, as I adore Marissa Meyer's writing, it was worth the try, and I am super glad I did!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!
