This was just a 7-ish chapter excerpt of the third novel but it definitely showed that Marissa's writing is definitely on par with the others in this series. It was fun to revisit the characters for a bit and I'm looking forward to picking up the full copy as soon as I get a chance!
A great finale to the trilogy. I love Marissa Meyer. She can tell a great story with lots of action. I met her a few years back and loved her spirit and humor. I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
I love Marissa Meyer! Her books are great. I love how these characters are walking a tight rope between good and bad and how it shows there isn't always a clear divide between the two.
This was a wonderful chapter sampler! I cannot wait to pick up this book. It seems like it’s going to be an epic conclusion.
Drat, I did it again—I picked up a sequel without reading the first two volumes because the cover looked so promising. While I obviously missed a lot of set up, I found Supernova a likeable and engaging read. Nova, our POV character, is being pulled in multiple directions with her multiple identities. The descriptions of superpowers and the complexity of a society that integrates superpowered citizens were a lot of fun. I just got a sample of this one but would happily finish this and pick up the first volumes!
An entertaining end to the trilogy. Meyer never disappoints for character development and action blended with a captivating plot. Well done!
This was a epic installment in the Renegades series, and it was just plain wonderful to step back into Meyer's superhero world again. I really liked the twists the story took, and the particular way innocence was preserved, yet growth occurred, too. I especially enjoyed the relationship arc with Adrian, Nova, and Max--I was so glad to finally see Max resurface. Admittedly, the last 100 pages felt a bit drawn out, but I have no complaint about how it all tied together. I can only guess there will be another installment after that epic teaser (taunter? lol) at the end.
I loved this final installment of the Renegades series! So much intrigue, action, and drama! Full of excitement and social commentary. Great for all readers--highly recommended.
While I don't think that 7 chapters is enough to warrant significant feedback, I have since read the entire book. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and while it was satisfactory in terms of being a third installment, I unfortunately didn't find it up to par with the first two books in the trilogy. There seemed to be a lot of missed opportunities in terms of satisfying the reader and the subplots they've invested in over time. Aside from a very unsatisfying cliffhanger in the end, I still find this series as a whole worthy of significant recognition, but I would be lying if I didn't point out that the cover, title, and a key scene from Book 2 very clearly suggests a different kind of story than what was delivered. I found the marketing for this book slightly misleading in these aspects, but I would still recommend this series, as I think the first two books did accomplish a deep insight into the meta of good and evil that is more rarely seen today.
After the exciting ending of Archenemies, I knew I needed to dive right into Supernova. While this is just a sampler, which I didn’t realize, it sets us up for another epic and exciting chapter in the Renegades trilogy. Nova has kept her secret till now, but someone knows!! I have all kinds of theories but I’ll just be over here waiting till release day to see if I’m right.
I received this e-book chapter sampler of Supernova by Marissa Meyer through Net Galley from Macmillan Children's Publishing Group in exchange for a truthful review.
I've been waiting for the conclusion to the Renegades Trilogy and receiving this 7 chapter sampler filled the gap until the novel is released (tomorrow, I think, hooray)!
These first chapters continue the the adventure of the Renegades and the Anarchists, picking up the day after the explosive conclusion to Archenemies (Book 2). These chapters did a great job summarizing how things were when we last saw Nova and Adrian, while setting the stage for the difficulties each will face in this finale, fighting between lies, loyalties and love.
It will be epic to see how their society survives and in what form!
I read the chapter sampler of Supernova and can’t wait to read the whole story.
There was a lot of build up to make the reader excited for the last book in the trilogy. Marissa grabs the readers attention and leaves them wanting more. It was very good and I enjoyed it!
This was such a fun sneak peak of Supernova. Things keep building and getting more intense and I cannot wait to see how the story concludes!
This is a chapter sampler. Therefore, it makes zero sense to post a review for the publisher or Goodreads. I am patiently hopeful that I will receive a full copy of the completed novel in a short time.
Thank you to NetGalley for this chapter sampler.
I am so excited for the rest of this book. It is going to be an explosive ending to a great trilogy. Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite authors and this series is no different. When I got to the end of the sampler I just wanted more. I can't wait for the release of this book!
Based on the first few chapters,
4.5 out of 5 Stars
Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance chapter sampler of Supernova in exchange for my honest review.
While I can’t give a book a true rating when I have only read the first few chapters, I can say that the beginning of this book does make me want to keep reading. I’m giving a 3 rating for now (three being the most neutral choice) and will revise after I have read the entire book.
I love all of Marissa Meyer's books and I especially love this series so I jumped at the chance to read Supernova before it's release. Next time I will have to read the details better because after reading a few chapters I was very confused when the book ended. Guess I didn't realize I was only getting a sample of the book. But let me tell you, it has me dying to finish reading. Nov. 5th can not come soon enough.
This was a great beginning to Supernova. Marissa Meyer does a fantastic job building the tension. I can't wait to read the entire novel!
The start of this book is exactly what I was looking for in book 2! The stakes are higher, the panic is setting in and battle lines are being drawn. My download only contained the first few chapters but I can tell from those 70 or so pages that this is going to be a wild ride. I liked Renegades and thought Archenemies was pretty meh but the beginning of Supernova definitely made me want to read the rest. I wish this download had contained the rest because I'm itching to read it!!
I absolutely love this series! I am excited for the new one to release so I can finish the whole book. Because this is just the first few pages of the book I don't think it is fair to write a review for the whole book. However, this is a strong start and I'm dying to know what happens!
