Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold. Now years later whilst browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid and is successful however the inn is in disrepair.
When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn't another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories. While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins.
A heart warming story ideal for a winter’s day read. The characters have plenty of depth I loved Matt whose childhood crush soon developed into something more. I liked Liz but wanted to shake her at times. A slow burn romance, that left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. I also loved Elvis, Matt’s dog who was a delight. A lovely traditional love story

Sometimes there is a higher power at work in our lives. For Liz, it was always her dream to own Angels Rest, a lodge her grandparents owned. She wanted to re-create all the goods times she had there with her Pops and Grandma. By chance she was on a website and thought she saw it up for sale. She had one day to get everything together to bid on it. Once she won, she was restless to get started. Matt Hardy has moved back to town and was bidding on Angels Rest. He was also going to bring the place back to its former glory. The two of them plus many of the townspeople are on board. It was always about bringing back the community. Enjoying the spirit of Christmas. Falling in love. It was a heartwarming book.

Everyone has a place that says “home" to them, where just thinking about it brings back all those wonderful memories and the feelings it evokes wrap around you like a warm blanket. For me, it’s my aunt and uncle's place in New England, and for Liz Westmoreland, it's her grandparents' old bed and breakfast in the small town of Angel Creek, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. When her grandparents' lodge comes up for auction, Liz can't resist bidding on it. When she wins the bid, Liz leaves her job, closes up her home in Charlotte and heads to Angels Rest, only to find the inside of the old lodge gutted and an overwhelming amount of work ahead to return it to its former glory.

The locals are excited about Liz restoring the old lodge and welcome her with open arms. They have fond memories of her grandparents and are excited about the tourists a B&B will bring to the area. None is more willing to pitch in and help Liz than architect Matt Hardy. You see, Matt also has fond memories of the Lodge at Angles Rest, especially of the freckle-faced girl who visited every summer and Christmas break.

Whenever I read a Naigle book I know I'm going to get a heart-warming, inspiring, uplifting story that touches my heart with all kinds of wonderful emotions. Matt and Liz's story is exactly that, and I adore them together. Add to that the quaint town of Angels Rest and its lively, quirky, endearing characters and I never wanted to leave. I have no doubt that these characters will endear themselves to you, too, and this story is the perfect read to get you in the holiday spirit. Grab your cozy blanket and hot drink, toss another log on the fire, and escape to Angels Rest today!

Liz Westmoreland always dreamed that one day she would take over running her grandparents' inn at Antler Creek in the mountains of North Carolina. However, they sold the inn before she had the chance. Now, Liz finds out the inn is up for sale in an auction taking place the next day, and surprisingly, she wins the auction.

Matt Hardy, who grew up and still lives in Antler Creek, also bid on the old Angels Rest inn. He just hopes that the person who won the auction isn't some city slicker who will make the property even worse. He is surprised to learn that Liz, the girl he had a crush on growing up, is the winning bidder and that she wants to restore the inn to its former glory. Matt can't help but volunteer to head up the renovation, both to spend time with Liz and to bring back a place with so many fond memories for Matt and the rest of the town.

The former owners of the inn had gutted it and turned it into an art gallery before letting it fall into disrepair; Liz and Matt will have their work cut out for them. However, as they start to repair the inn, angels Liz's grandma collected keep appearing, which Liz takes as a sign that she is doing the right thing. Can Liz find a home and love in Antler Creek?

This was a cute book that I imagine will be the first of a series set in Antler Creek. We already got an introduction to whom the next book will likely feature at the end of this story. If you enjoy small town clean romance series, I definitely recommend reading this book! While the plot was predictable, as they usually are in romance novels, the characters were great, and the story was heartwarming. This book will definitely get you in the holiday spirit.

Is it ever too early to read Christmas books - the correct answer is NO! and I won't take any other.

Christmas Angels is a sweet, beautiful tale of going after your dreams.

Childhood dreams of family and places are what drive our lovely lady Liz. The place radiates everything she has always love and what she has dreamed of for years. And I can't blame her I want to move with her.

And then there is Matt. Oh my gosh, that man! Move over Liz, I am trying to get that man for myself.

I love the small town vibe of Christmas Angels. The sense of community is something you just don't get living in bigger towns or cities.

This was a slow burn of a romance, but it didn't feel dragged out. Our lovelies just took their time to get there.

Now i need some hot chocolate, STAT!

Very cute, sweet romance. Liz Westmoreland is a successful businesswoman, but she dreams of running a Lodge like her grandparents owned. Some of her best times growing up were spent at Angels Rest Lodge, so when she sees it for sale on an auction website, she takes the plunge and buys it. Of course, the place needs a lot of work, so she starts working with Matt Hardy, hottie architect. Matt grew up in Antler Falls, and his first crush was on a thirteen year old Liz who was visiting her grandparents. This is a delightful, clean romance. Both Liz and Matt are likable, and the whole town is full of kind characters. If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, this is the book for you. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

This was just a nice easy breezy magical Christmas story. I think it could easily be made into a movie as it certainly read like one in my head. I really enjoyed it! It is such a nice, fun heartwarming story that left me feeling so good. Liz and Matt are great characters and so cute together. This was just what the doctor ordered.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

I enjoyed this book. I like when people get to live out their dreams. This would make a perfect Hallmark movie. The characters were well done. I wanted to eat at the diner, shop at the hardware store and antique there. Snow bowling ? Yes!! Great rainy day book.

This Christmas romance is one I can relate to. It is situated in the N.C. mountains and although the location is a fictional one the rest of the places mentioned are real.
I live less than 50 miles from the South Carolina/North Carolina border so many of the locations are familiar to me.
Our heroine grew up wanting to take over her grandparents lodge but was disappointed when they suddenly sold it.
Now she has a wish of owning her own bed & breakfast. While searching online she finds that her grandparents old lodge is for sale in an auction the next day.
She wins the auction buying the lodge sight unseen.
What she finds is maybe more than she bargained for, not only the lodge but a man too.
I gave this book 4.5 of 5.0 stars.
This sweet romance should be featured in a Hallmark Christmas romance movie.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

This book is just like a great Hallmark Christmas movie, even down to town light shows, snickerdoodles and hot chocolate! Liz decides to leave her lucrative career behind to buy a bed and breakfast off of the auction block. When Liz was a child, her grandparents owned and ran the inn where Liz had some of her best childhood memories. Liz decides on the spur of a moment to fulfill her childhood dream of taking over the inn and restoring it to its future glory. The inn has fallen into a serious state of disrepair. Enter Matt who grew up in the same small town that the inn is in although he now has a career in Chicago and only visits the town (in the mountains of NC) during the holidays. Matt is an architect/general contractor and not only does he have all the right skills to get the inn on track, but he is also a great romantic foil for Liz. It's a very sweet, slow-moving romance. I will admit that I deducted a star in my review because I felt like some of the plot points towards the end were really just a little too good to be believed. That's okay though-great holiday escapism!
Thanks to St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Liz is delighted when she wins the on line auction to repurchase her grandparents' inn in Angel Creek but less so when she gets there and gets a look inside. The inn had been gutted and is in no shape to be a B&B any time soon. It takes a village, though, to make dreams come true and that's what happens here as the people in town pull together with her to get it into shape. Oh, and so does Matt, the next door neighbor who remembers Liz from their childhoods and well, falls for her now. Liz is so focused on her work, however, that she doesn't see Matt for what he is until one day something clicks. She's kind of a dope about things but that's actually realistic, I think. You know what's going to happen but it's a good journey. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. A nice romance with sweet touches (the angels which appear around the inn, Matt's dog) that's perfect for a happy read.

Sweet, PG rated story that could easily be a Hallmark movie. Successful businesswoman Liz dreams of leaving her job and owning an inn just like the one her grandparents had while she was growing up. On a whim, she checks an auction website and finds the exact place up for sale the next day. She buys it and heads back to Antler Creek to check out the property and get it restored. Local good guy and handyman Matt becomes her contractor, and he remembers her and his crush from when they were kids. Lots of snow, Christmas decorations, kind townspeople, all the makings of a good holiday HEA.

Dreams do come true! Liz's one dream was to be able to take over her grandparents' property, but when they sold it Liz felt her heart being torn out. Years later, as a successful businesswoman, Liz sees her grandparents' inn up for auction. Placing a bid, Liz is surprised at her success, but having won the bid, she had no back door out of her decision. Discovering the state of the property is a shock, but she finds that she has the whole town of Angel Creek behind her. Accepting Matt's proposal to manage the restoration of the inn comes with complications as Liz has rules about dating the people she works with. However, Matt knows that she is the one for him and will do what it takes to win her over. The novel is well written, sweet and clean with a budding romance, as Liz and Matt work through the difficulties facing them. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Nancy Naigle has a wonderful way of writing sweet Hallmark-like stories. They are sweet and filled with kind, generous characters and no villians in sight. In this story, Liz is a successful business woman but has no real life outside of work. Growing up, she would visit her gradparents at their Angels Rest Inn. Now, she see the in is up for auction and bids on it blindly - not knowing what she might be getting into.
Matt has always lived in town and remembers the time when Liz would visit her grandparents. He also was interested in restoring the inn and when he meets Liz he is determined to help her bring it back to it's original glory days. The question is, can Liz turn her back on the big city for a childhood dream of the Angels Rest?
The whole town adopts Liz as one of their own and together, they bring back the Christmas Light drive through tradition. Liz and Matt are wonderful characters that you can't help but fall in love with and when they fall in love it makes the Happily Ever After even better.
I received an advanced copy of this book.

I read Christmas stories for a dose of nostalgia and sweetness. This has both, but it’s awkward.

Liz gets a postcard in the mail advertising properties going up for auction. Coincidentally, her grandparents’ old place is selling, and she wins the high bid. Matt coincidentally knew the property in his past and lost the bid. And of course, romances being what they are, they find true love together.

The story had all the right elements, but just didn’t quite click. Too many times, the stilted dialogue took me away from the story. Events needed another perusal from an editor. For example, at midnight Matt shows up at Liz’s door because the power went out. She goes to answer and doesn’t realize (until he points it out) that the power is out. Really? A woman alone in a house walks to the front door at midnight and answers it, all without turning on a light? And only realizes it’s out when she turns to a nightlight that should be burning but isn’t? Another instance is when she loaned her car to a realtor friend, who uses it to show three houses, yet it’s on empty when he returns and she is irritated that he didn’t follow the half-tank-rule. Considering a car tank gets 300-400 miles to the tank at least, and the realtor showed the three houses in one city...exactly how was the tank empty? It’s the small details like this that take a book from great to good. Three stars.

Liz Westmoreland’s dream was to take over her grandparents’ inn, called Angels Rest, in the picturesque small town of Antler Creek, but her grandparents retired before she had the chance. On impulse, Liz did a browser search on the property, and was thrilled to find that it was being sold at auction the very next day. She put in the highest bid, and Angels Rest was back in the family once again.

Matt Hardy was thoroughly annoyed when someone outbid him on the old Westmoreland place. His favorite memories of growing up in Antler Creek were centered around there, from fly fishing in the summer to the full-on Christmas display during December, and all included Liz. When he realized who had purchased the property, he was more than willing to remain in town a little longer, and head up the renovation in order to return Angels Rest to its former glory.

Christmas Angels is a book that left me feeling happy. I loved Liz’s focus and determination to bring about her dream, and Matt is truly one of the nicest guys ever. I enjoyed the townspeople and was amazed at the way they all came together to help Liz after her accident, and I really liked the angel sightings scattered throughout the book.

A very sweet and endearing Christmas holiday story. Liz has fond memories of the times she spent with her grandparents. When the opportunity arises to purchase the property they lived on she jumps on it. Matt is struggling to recover from the loss of his dad. Reconnecting with his childhood crush is helping. This is a story about community and love. All the small things that they do to make each other’s lives better. Liz and Matt work to make Angels Rest a true Christmas miracle bringing the town and families together.

This is sweet small town Christmas romance. I actually found the town’s character and the holiday season took center stage in this book. The romance was sweet but slow moving and there was virtually no conflict for the lovers to overcome. There is a fabulous dog named Elvis that adds sparkle to this story. This book will hit the spot if you want an enjoyable and heartwarming sweet holiday romance to snuggle up with.
