Hajnal gives a powerful argument that race has now replaced class as a dividing factor in American society. Powerful and convincing discussion of the fundamental role that race plays in American politics in all levels of government.

This is a highly researched, well written book. I didn't find it an easy ready, but there were many challenging thoughts and important ideas conveyed by the authors. I would consider this much more textbook style than casual reading. I have enjoyed discussing several of the ideas from this book with friends and colleagues so it has provided me with many good conversation starters.
