Not my favorite my Mary Kubica but still a great suspense read. Nothing can top her The Good Girl, IMO

HOLY GOODNESS! Want to go on the ride of your life? Read this! @marykubica has done it again and somehow even better! This book had me reading until all hours of the night! With every twist, I thought I had it figured out just to have the rug ripped out from under me! Easily one of the best suspense novels I’ve read in awhile! It’ll be published on February 18th, so preorder it now! Thank you @netgalley and @harlequinbooks for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was my first Mary Kubica book and it probably won't be my last. Three different points of view tell this story, the wife and mother, Sadie; her old friend and roommate, Camille; and a little girl named Mouse. Towards the end of the book, Will - Sadie's husband - begins to tell his story. I wasn't sure where some of these stories were going and how they would all tie in together. There were times, this book was slow going, but when the stories all started coming together, the book really started to pick up. Overall, I enjoyed the book. Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Books for a digital arc of this title.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. The Other Mrs. is a twisty tale about a family, led by Sadie and Will Foust, who move from Chicago to a small town off the coast of Maine. Soon after they arrive, the town is rocked by a murder and suspicion immediately goes to the Fousts. I enjoyed this book, though I found some parts to be slower. However, it definitely picks up in the last half of the book. I liked that the story was told from multiple perspectives, but I was able to guess some of the twists, which could be because I read a lot of thrillers. If you are a fan of thrillers and the author, I think this is a book you would enjoy.

Mary Kubica is by far my favorite thriller author! She artfully writes characters that are complex, and creates a love/hate relationship for the reader. This book was no exception. This story is from the perspective of four people:
1. Sadie, a doctor who is struggling with a mood and her husband's infidelity.
2. Camille, the other woman, who loves and stalks Sadie's husband, Will.
3. Mouse, a smart, six year old girl who has troubles at home.
4. Will, Sadie's husband, who brings his family to Maine to care for his troubled niece, after his sister's suicide.
A woman is murdered down the street from Sadie and Wills suburban home, the stress of which causes Sadie to behave inappropriately, in search of the truth. The twists in this novel were spectacular and I loved the ending. In a time when I am reading much more slowly than usual, I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I absolutely loved it!

“𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘶𝘴.”
The Other Mrs. was a bit slow for me at first. However, it definitely had times where it gave me eerie vibes and I wasn’t quite sure what was going to happen until toward the end. It kept me guessing.
The book really picked up for me half way through and got extremely interesting. This book deals with mental health issues in several aspects. Suicide, trauma, abuse, stalking, grief, domestic violence, and several others.
Some parts of this book were heart breaking, others were very eerie. Sadie has so much anxiety, that it makes you, yourself anxious.
This book was 4 stars 🌟 for me.
Thank you @netgalley and @harlequinbooks for an ARC for my honest review.

Sadie moves across county at the request of her husband to help pick up the pieces of his broken family. Sadie misses her old life but is excited to leave her family’s mistakes behind and start fresh. When their neighbor Morgan is murdered, Sadie fights to clear her family’s name, but is concerned by mounting evidence against them.
This was intriguing, but I didn’t find it SUPER well written. I don’t love when the author’s goal seems to be primarily focused on tricking the reader. I love of a good twist, but not at the expense of fully developed plots and characters. I guessed the ending about half way through, and had fun reading this one, but definitely didn’t love it.
Mary Kubica is hit or miss for me. I LOVED The Good Girl, but consider When the Lights Go Out one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Pretty Baby, Don’t You Cry, and now The Other Mrs. fall somewhere between those ends for me.

This was very well done!
I tried wrapping my head around who"The Other Mrs." could be and I was still wrong!
I never even had suspicions of who the killer was. I can't believe the level of deceit and manipulation that happened here.
I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book. I loved that it took place on an island where you had to take a few to the mainland....it added to the suspense. I don't want to add anymore because I think this would be a great book to go into mostly blind.

This was definitely my favorite thriller thus far by Mary Kubica! This book was mysterious and had me hooked from the start. I truly couldn’t figure it out! I had to re read the plot twist a few times to make sure I caught every detail, and even though I predicted part of the ending, I completely loved it.
The story follows a family who recently moves from Chicago to Maine in hopes of starting fresh. However when their neighbor is murdered, the town becomes completely unsettled. Is there a murderer lurking on the small Maine island? Is it someone closer to them then they think? When the police investigation starts pointing towards one of them, you’ll never believe how it all plays out.
Definitely recommend you pick this one up come Feb. 18! Thank you Netgalley and Park Row for allowing me to read and review this early ❤️ I thoroughly enjoyed it! Saturday well spent :)

With her latest offering, The Other Mrs., Kubica proves once again why she can be considered one of the current queens of psychological suspense.
Will and Dr. Sadie Foust try to leave professional and marital problems behind them and grab at a fresh start after Will inherits his sister's house (and guardianship of her 16 year old daughter, Imogen) following her death. Moving from Chicago with their sons Otto, 14, and Tate, 7, to an isolated island in Maine, is a big step for all of them, but one that Will and Sadie want to work. Things soon swerve off course however. The house is very dark and creepy, and Imogen doesn't want them there. At all. She is filled with anger and attitude, and truth be told, frightens Sadie. When one of their neighbors is murdered only days after they move in the family finds itself under intense scrutiny.
The plot and characters are superb, and though I thought I had it figured out (many times), I didn't. Nothing is as it seems. I love it when that happens!! This started out fast-paced, got a bit sluggish for awhile and then took off again with intensity. Downgraded from 5 stars to 4 for the slow section, but definitely add this one to your TBR pile, you'll be glad you did!!
My thanks to NetGalley and Park Row for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Shockingly creepy! This book had me on the edge of my seat! I couldn't put it down. I definitely didn't see anything coming. I love love loved this book! It's the best book I've read in awhile.

Creepy and fast paced, this novel is hard to put down. Filled with twists and turns, this disturbing psychological thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat with an unsettling and suspenseful story.

Okay, I could say a whole heck of a lot in praise of this book, but I don’t want to give anything away from your experience of it, should you choose to read it. (And you should!) So, I’m keeping this brief.
The Description:
She tried to run, but she can’t escape the other Mrs.
Sadie and Will Foust have only just moved their family from bustling Chicago to small-town Maine when their neighbor Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The murder rocks their tiny coastal island, but no one is more shaken than Sadie.
But it’s not just Morgan’s death that has Sadie on edge. And as the eyes of suspicion turn toward the new family in town, Sadie is drawn deeper into the mystery of what really happened that dark and deadly night. But Sadie must be careful, for the more she discovers about Mrs. Baines, the more she begins to realize just how much she has to lose if the truth ever comes to light.
My thoughts:
One of Mary Kubica’s greatest strengths is character creation and development. The characters in this are boldly drawn and very passionate, yet totally believable. Every moment feels high stakes and important for them. Kubica allows us to get into their hearts and heads, with an unflinching look at the truth of human nature and needs.
Also, I think the pacing and plotting of this thriller is exceptional. And just about every character in this story seems dangerous and untrustworthy, which is always fun!
This was my first read by Mary Kubica, and I definitely want to go back and read others, especially The Good Girl!
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin for the ARC!
This gem of a thriller hits the shelves on February 18. Don’t miss it!

I really enjoyed this book. I had trouble putting it down, I just wanted answers. Then when I got them, boy I was not ready for that! Characters were well rounded and the plot moved itself along. I had never read a book by Mar Kubica but I would certainly be interested in reading more of her books in the future.
I would like to thank netgalley.com and HARLEQUIN for allowing me to read this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Mary Kubica has done it again-- I couldn't put this book down and will absolutely be sharing this with my thriller readers-- great book, keeps you guessing until the very end and really throws you for a loop. A must read!!

I am a sucker for anything Mary Kubica publishes....and rightfully so. The Other Mrs. is no different. Well crafted and fast paced, it tells the story of Sadie and Will. They have just moved to a new city, and their neighbor is found dead. As questions arise, Sadie finds herself wondering what really happened, and what her role was.

One of the books twists was telegraphed fairly early on, but served to cleverly obscure the ending. Definitely challenging to get through some of the scenes, but a good pageturner that kept me engaged.

The Other Mrs. is another thriller by Mary Kubica. I consider this author to be one of the queens of the psychological suspense thriller genre and this book did not disappoint me. This book starts with the murder of Will and Sadie's neighbor. Since they just moved to the tiny island off the coast of Maine they do not know this neighbor very well. Therefore, it comes as a shock when it appears that the officer investigating the murder has set his eyes on Sadie for possibly being involved. Many intricate characters and plot lines help this story move along at a brisk pace. Read and enjoy!

Spine chilling and extremely captivating novel that has everything any thriller lover longs for: unreliable narrator, multiple twists, "what-in-the-world" moments.
Just a few weeks after Sadie and Will move their family from busy Chicago to quiet Maine a gruesome murder takes place in the neighboring house. Suddenly, Sadie evolves a big interest to the victim that she never got a chance to meet (or has she?). After a few chats with the police detective, she starts her own investigation, and the shocking facts she discovers - point to her family home. Shocker, I know! But this is only the beginning...
With "The Other Mrs" an author keeps the readers on their toes as she continually shocks and surprised them with the plot twists. Nothing is ever what meets the eye. Everything is interconnected in an elaborate way. Not one fact and story are wasted here in order to build atmosphere, everything is said with purpose and brought back up in due time. Thank you NetGalley and Park Row publisher for an advanced and free copy of the novel and Mary Kubica for a phenomenal story!

Wow. Still processing this amazing story. It’s creepy, twisty and the surprises keep on coming. I had no idea how the book would end. And that’s rare for me. It’s about a family that desperately needs a fresh start and a teenage girl who needs them but doesn’t realize it. Mostly though the story revolves around a murder on a small isolated island. The island is one of the central characters because its remoteness sets the tone for the entire book. A winner for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
