Sadie and Will, a seemingly perfect couple and the parents of two sons Otto and Tate, are uprooted from their home in Chicago when Will’s sister, Alice, commits suicide after suffering in pain from fibromyalgia for years. Alice leaves a 16-year-old daughter, Imogen, behind, who becomes Sadie and Will's responsibility along with the house. Imogen proves to be extremely challenging as she is rude and disrespectful - but Sadie tries her best to have patience with the grieving daughter. Shortly after arriving to live in Alice's old house, a woman is murdered next door, which causes unease and outright suspicion to settle over the new family in town. To top it all off, Will is having an affair with Sadie's old college roommate, Camille. Camille seems pretty obsessed with Will and definitely off balanced.
This was a great read - even though it was quite the "slow burn" kind of story for me. It is told from 3 POVs (Sadie, Camille and Mouse, a girl that is a big part of the story but a "mystery" at first. If you suspect reality a bit (which is what fiction is, after all) the ending was good, albeit a bit predictable.
Thanks to Mary Kubica, Park Row and NetGalley for the ARC.

Mary Kubica is a master storyteller. The book was well paced and a page turner. I read it in two sittings and wanted more. Great job.

This one was good but not favourite. I enjoy the authors writing style and the plot but I wasn't really a fan of any of the characters. I just didn't feel like the characters came to life for me and they weren't really likable characters. It is definitely a psychological thriller with some unexpected twists. I did find about three quarters through I had guessed where the story was heading. It did still keep me wondering if I would be right about it. I give this book a 3 stars just because it didn't hold me throughout the whole journey. I have read a few of Mary Kubica's books and do look forward to the next one.

I feel like I've read a hundred books with this specific twist, but it was still solid and very enjoyable. I'll read anything Mary Kubica writes.

Twisted psychological thriller - Sadie an Will move to a small coastal town after Wills sister commits suicide leaving behind her teenager Imogen. A neighbour ends up up being murdered and Sadie and Will are found to be in the middle of the investigation.

I have started this book so many times and have failed. I keep seeing it on all the list so I tried it one more time.

The Other Mrs by Mary Kubica is a good read overall. The premise behind this book was interesting-- new neighbors suspected of a murder in the neighborhood. It may sound simple but there are so many layers. I thoroughly enjoyed the author's ability to weave a story and keep the suspense building. Parts of this book were absolutely terrifying! I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Thank you so much @ParkRowBooks, @HarlequinBooks & @NetGalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 18 February 2020)

SYNOPSIS | Sadie & Will Foust move their family to a small-town in Maine after Will's sisters death. Shortly after their arrival, their neighbour Morgan Baines is found dead in her home. The whole community is shaken by this event, but this isn't the only thing putting Sadie on edge.

WHAT I LIKED:
- that we are readers don't know all of the details of what happened in Chicago
- multiple POVs

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- this plot had one of my most hated (& overused) thriller tropes that is primarily only done for the shock factor
- the unreliable narrator
- the gaslighting
- the fact that Sadie was so quick to lay the blame on her niece & oldest son
- where was the police investigation into the murder?

Mary Kubica has been a favorite of mine since The Good Girl. He books a true psychological thrillers, and this one has a nice twist to the story. An easy and fast read, perfect for a quiet weekend or a vacation.

This unrealiable narrator and psychological thriller is well written and unsetteling.. An enjoyable read yet somewhat confusing, guess that was the author's point. I spent most of the book trying to put the pieces together and once I did, the author kind of lost me. Too far fetched. Overall a worthwhile read.

I loved the sound of this book from the blurb, but I couldn't get into it at all. I think Mary Kubica is just not for me, since I haven't liked other books of hers I've tried either. Fans of this author may enjoy this one though.

This is her best book to date! I ended up suspecting every single character as the guilty suspect - even the child! I do feel like it's a little more on the basic side for a domestic thriller but it would be PERFECT for someone just starting out in the genre.

Creepy stepdaughter, troubles son, unfaithful father, and untrustworthy mother.... what more could you want in a familial psychological thriller? Another brilliant suspense novel by Mary Kubica. I thought this one was even better than The Good Girl.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

Mary Kubica does a good job with multiple twists and turns in this thriller novel. Just when you figure something out you’re sent around the next corner. Even the ending has multiple layers. Kubica could have made her characters more dimensional - a doctor that is always late and undisciplined, a dead relative that’s never been met, a bumbling town cop and a dark brooding neighbor. All-in-all it’s a quick read and it also made me want to research why bananas are curved. Thank you Mary Kubica and Park Row Books for the ARC.

This author tends to be up and down for me. She has a writing style that has me constantly wondering if I missed something and I spend a lot of time rereading to make sure I know what is going on. That being said, I know what I am getting into when I read her. This one however, was slow for me. It took me a long time to get through it. I thought the main character, Sadie, was ridiculous at times. I also didn't think everything got explained thoroughly. If you love the author, you will love this book in my opinion.

I received an advanced digital copy of this book from the author, publisher and Netgalley.com. Thanks to all for the opportunity to read and review. The opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Ms. Kubica is quickly becoming a go-to household name of the thriller genre. The Other Mrs. is anot atmospheric page turner that withe a twist that you won't see coming. Excellent read!

5 out of 5 stars.

I've read 3 of Kubica's books- The Good Girl, Don't You Cry, and Pretty Baby. I didn't like any of those, so I don't know why I thought this one would be a favorite. Don't get me wrong- it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't my absolute favorite. The Other Mrs. just seemed rather disorganized, and instead of the unknown being suspenseful, it just made the read weird and confusing. Also, the twist about the 3 narrators was one I predicted from the beginning- it was just so obvious! I did like that the book was about mental illness and it seemed like Kubica did her research on the matter. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
