Sadie and Will are working on their marriage due to Will's infidelity. They move to Maine to take over caring for Will's niece and the home of his now deceased sister. Crazy things are happening that Sadie is involved in but cant remember. Good one! Looking forward to the next release.

Mary Kubica writes murder mysteries. Do you like to try to guess "who done it ?" before the end of the book?
if so, this one is going to have you scratching your head. There is so much conflicting and unreliable narration
you don't know who is telling the truth. There are so many questions raised in this book you will need a score card ! But don't worry, they are all answered in the end. This is another of the authors throughly enjoyable novels. One that will leave you thinking, and recommending to your friends. Highly recommended

First I would like to thank NetGalley, the publishing house, and the author for allowing me a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
And I would also like to apologize for how long it took me to post a review,
3.5 stars I'd say.
I like the author. I have enjoyed all the books of hers that I've read so far, The blurb for the book really only tells a small generalized part of the story. The characters were pretty believable - especially the children.
I enjoyed the manipulation and suspicion that the book created. And I was even OK with the big twist at the end. (Although I was beginning to suspect what was causing Sadie's memory problems.) I was more impressed with her husband and his game he played.

The story follows Sadie as she tries to rebuild her marriage after an affair ensues. Will and Sadie move after Will inherits his late sister’s house and they see it as a way to start over. The story moves slower that Kubica’s other books but is still a great read!

Thank you for the advanced copy of this book. My reviews can be read on my GoodReads account here: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1335387-kelly

After enjoying a couple of Mary Kubica's previous books, I was excited to get my hands on The Other Mrs., her latest thriller. Unfortunately, it read more as a domestic noir than the psychological thriller it was described as, and the novel fell flat for me. I enjoyed Kubica's signature writing style, but the plot was achingly slow and didn't create enough tension to keep me compelled to read further.
None of the characters were especially strong, and I had trouble connecting with any of them, which made it hard to stay interested.
I found the side storyline far more interesting than the main novel, and ultimately the way everything came together was not enough to make up for the novel's shortcomings.
Many thanks to Park Row and NetGalley for the advance copy.

The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica is psychological fiction mixed with a murder mystery and a police procedural. Sadie and Will Foust have inherited a home on a small Maine island and move there from Chicago with their two sons. They soon settle in to small-town life: Sadie in her new medical practice and Will as a part-time college lecturer on the mainland. They also have custody of Will’s teenage niece who would rather be anywhere but with their family. Tragedy soon strikes when a neighbour is murdered nearby and the police have difficulty solving the crime, leading to the villagers fearing that a murderer may be amongst them. The book has several narrators, keeping readers completely focused yet baffled. Who killed this young woman? What was the reason for this crime? Is the murderer still on the island? This whodunit will seem unsolvable. This is an original plot that makes this mystery fascinating. I look forward to reading more books by Mary Kubica. Highly recommended. Thank you to Harlequin/Park Row and NetGalley for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this twisty new book by Mary Kubica. The secluded island setting, family issues, unreliable characters, and alternating viewpoints all made this a hit.
Sadie, Will, and their two sons have recently left their home in the city to move to an island off the coast of Maine following the death of Will's sister. This seems like a fresh start for the family after an affair, a school issue involving their oldest son, and trouble at work for Sadie. When they get to Maine, they move into Will's sister's old home and assume guardianship over Will's teenage niece, Imogen.
Soon after they move, a neighbor is murdered and we are taken along with Sadie as she tries to piece things together.
All in all, this book hooked me and kept me going. I read it quickly and was even thrown off by a twist (that I should've expected). While there were a couple of loose ends that didn't get wrapped up, I really liked how the book ended for Sadie and her family.
Thank you to the publishers, the author, and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced ecopy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

It took me awhile to get into this book, and I had trouble buying into the premise. A solid read, but not very memorable for me.

The Other Mrs was an excellent book. There were so many twists and turns. I found it impossible to put this novel down!

I absolutely loved this twisty book by Mary Kubica which I feel goes back to her roots (The Good Girl) - and is now my second favorite book by her! It starts out so strong and stays that way throughout with some jaw dropping twists along the way for sure! I binge read it in two days! Thanks for the early copy.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 👍🏻👍🏻

I've read all of Mary Kubica's books and she is an author that I've come to look forward to reading. This is not her best, but this is not her worst. I will continue to look for her novels. However, my favorite of hers will always be The Good Girl.

The Other Mrs has all the elements that I like; a moody island setting, a wonky family structure, an unreliable husband, a woman who is uprooted, and finds it hard to integrate herself in her new community. When Sadie and her husband Will hit the rocky patch in their relationship, they decide to move their family from Chicago to an island in Maine. Will's sister died, she committed suicide, and she left them her house, and a menacing 16-year old.
Now the family has a hard time getting their bearings when a woman down the street is murdered. Because Will had an affair in Chicago and was close to this woman, Morgan Baines, Sadie can let this one go. And to think of it, her niece and son act sketchy too. So, of course, despite her husband's misgivings, Sadie starts to investigate.
The story is told through three POV; a girl called Mouse, a woman having an affair with a married man named Camille, and Sadie herself.
They only thing the book hasn't got going for it is that it employs a structure that's popping up in various suspense thriller these days. Like David Lynch says, ideas hang in the air, and recently, it seems, without going into much detail for fear of giving it away, a lot of writers have caught this same idea and plot devise. So I detected it quickly. However, I still enjoyed The other Mrs, it's atmospheric, well written, with some satisfying twists, that I am sure, I you haven't read the same books as me, the final twist will come as a total surprise.

After I finished the book, I asked myself how I didn’t figure it out or pick up on the clues that were left along the way. I definitely didn’t see the twists coming and there were a couple doozies.
Ms. Kubica definitely has written another great psychological thriller.

This was my first time reading this author. It was definitely a thriller with many mental issues and a dysfunctional family. I thought I had it figured out early on but as I continued to read I was more confused by the plot changes and twists. Not sure I cared for the ending, just seemed to unbelievable. Many things to discuss for book clubs.

4 ½ ⭐️
I’ve been in a bit of a lull with the mystery/thriller book genre lately. I’ve either struggled to get into one or the ones I did read just didn’t quite hit that spot. This one, however, was exactly what I needed.
It has all the elements of a good murder mystery. Family moves into an old house on a small island. The house was inhabited by a relative who committed suicide and left her daughter behind. The family gets the house and takes guardianship of the daughter who they don’t know very well. She has some dark secrets and is very mysterious and doesn’t take well to her new “family”. The family has some secrets of their own and they welcome the move to the small island where they don’t quite fit in as a chance to recalibrate their lives. Then the woman across the street is murdered.
The main character takes it upon herself to figure out what happened and gets pulled deeper and deeper into into a web of confusion and lies, trying to find out who murdered their neighbour and what her husband’s connection is to it (if any) until she is caught in the middle of it as a suspect in the murder.
There are time gaps and blank spots in the main character’s memory and we are pulled along with her as she struggles to find answers before time runs out.
The story features three main points of view: the main character Sadie, a young girl Mouse, and the other woman Camille. The story jumps back and forth between the three and we slowly learn how their lives fit together.
There are a couple of good twists in this book and I actually didn’t exactly work out the main twist and it caught me a bit by surprise.
All in all a good murder mystery. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and it was better than the first one I read (When the Lights Go Out). I’ve got more on my list by the author so I will probably pick them up sooner rather than later.
Thank-you to NetGalley and the publisher for my advanced reader copy!

After having multiple problems in Chicago, Sadie and Will decide to uproot their family and move to Maine. Where Will inherited his sister's house, and his niece Imogen. Thinking that Maine would be their fresh start until one of the neighborhood women gets murdered! Sadie is questioning if someone in her family had anything to do with the murder and starts acting irrational to try to find out the truth.
It was really a fun read, especially since there were three POVs so it made it even more suspenseful as you are trying to piece the story together.
Some twists were unpredictable, some were predictable, nothing truly mind-blowing, but I still really enjoyed the storyline!

Who is the most twisted in this book. The one with the mental health issues or the one who manipulates everyone.

I read historical romance books. I do not read many thrillers or suspense books. I read this one and I have to say, it was a good read. It kept me going though plot, enjoy the characters, and get surprised by twists and turns this book has to offer.
Now I can honestly say, from time to time I will switch my genre to this one for healthy balance.😊

An incredibly addictive read that was full of thrills, chills, and entertainment, After Sadie, her husband Will and their family move into a new home that Will inherited from his sister, they have to adjust to their new life in a new location. They also inherited Will's niece, Imogen, who is eerie, dark and deeply disturbed.
I devoured this book and didn't know which turn the book would make next and I loved that. A novel that I highly recommend and am sure that you will love as much as I did.
