Fun, entertaining read. Two emotionally challenged persons, find their way through past heartbreaks, deceit, transgressions, a quagmire of trust issues. Sweet couple with puppy sidekicks and lots of family fun, along with a head of steam Don’t miss this one.

This novel explores the relationship between a high-functioning Autistic hero and a heroine with trust issues derived from a harsh foster care system upbringing. It's set in a small coastal town in Australia; the hero is Aussie and the heroine is American, from California.

The story was sweet and slow burning, including a humorous sub-plot with dogs and meddling family members (his). I enjoyed the slow build up of the relationship. In particular, I liked the way the author allowed the hero to slowly come to like then love the heroine. No insta-lust in sight, what a relief!

The heroine was a bit problematic for me. I felt the author dragged out the "mystery" of her past too long, and never quite explained what happened and why she was so scarred by it. Perhaps this was because such dark subjects didn't fit into the sweet romance unfolding, but this did make me feel like something was missing.

The ending was a bit abrupt for my taste, but overall this was a good, solid slow burn romance with just enough humor and pathos to keep it from being too sickly-sweet.

This is more of a 3.5 book. This was a sweet story and I liked the characters but there was just something missing for me at the end. I can't put my finger on what that was but something just felt left out. Overall it was a good way to spend a few hours and I would recommend reading the book.

Living in a busy household with people coming and going all the time, Jace craves order and routine. Angie Donovan is a product of the foster system, who escapes infamey in the States, by heading to Australia. As the end of her visa approaches, she has just two months to try to find someone, fall in love and get married. Problem is, she needs to find the someone and so she turns to her landlord and friend, Jace, for help. Jace agrees to help his incredibly distractingly hot and annoyingly nosey neighbor, but as the chemistry between them heats up, Angie gets under Jace's skin. This was a fun read, with good character development and a strong storyline. Absolutely recommend this book.

I wish I could do more than five stars for this book! It was a wonderful story of two people with a lot of personal baggage who find trust and love and acceptance. It’s a long difficult road but loaded with fun and hope. Read it! You won’t want to put it down until the very last word.

Stefanie London perfectly balances serious themes with humour, heart and the sizzling chemistry I’ve grown to expect in all her stories. I can’t wait to visit Patterson’s Bluff again.

Angie and Jace will grab your heart in this romance. He's a regimented person with a touch of autism. She's an American foster system grad with a need for a husband in order to get a visa. The story is so much more than the blurb indicates. It's a heartwarming story with lots of depth. The characters are well-developed and the story is emotional and engaging. I read an arc copy via Net Galley and voluntarily chose to write a review.

This was such a sweet story! I enjoyed it so much that I finished it almost in one sitting.

Jace is her handsome landlord, who enjoys his solitude but he keeps finding distractions everywhere.
They have both been burned/hurt in the past and are trying to find a way to not let it hold them back.

This was my first read from Stefanie London. I was looking for a light-hearted summer read and this didn't quite hit the mark for me. The characters were sweet and hot together. I really liked Jace and felt the author handled his story well. I did not feel that way with Angie. Her backstory seemed more like something I would read in a darker, romantic suspense story- but without the exploration of it. I felt you could have accomplished the same story components but with a different backstory and then you wouldn't have the shadow hanging over the characters.

Angie is an American living in Australia with not much time left on her visa. Jace is her next door neighbor and landlord who lives by a routine and does not like change. Throw in the idea of a marriage of convenience so Angie can stay in the country and this is just the beginning to the upheaval of Jace's new normal. Sweet & flirty, must love dogs and great communication throughout.

This is a story about 2 people, Angie and Jace who have their own issues. Jace is on the autism spectrum and has trouble finding the right words to express his feelings. Angie was raised in foster care and has trust issues.

This was an emotional story set in a small town in Australia about people trying to find a way to connect. It realistically addressed the issue of autism. The dogs were a cute addition to the story and added humor. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I thought this would be a fluffy romance read, but it was surprisingly deep and emotionally connecting. I just loved that the main character Jace had a disability of being on the autism spectrum. I think that is a first for a romantic lead. As the relationship between Jace and Angie grows, the story just gets better. A great summer beach reading that won't disappoint.

The Aussie Next Door by Stefanie London is I hope a new series featuring the town of Patterson Bluff and the Walters family. I loved this book and even though I've only read one other book by Ms. London (Beauty and the Greek Billionaire) her books are just fantastic. This is Jace, a comic artist and Angie's story with a sassy group of senior citizens the Poker Ladies, and of course Tilly and Truffle a pair of dogs that are mismatched, a Chihuahua and a German Shepard, but will keep you in giggles until the early hours of the morning.

Angie Donovan grew up in the foster care system in the US and a when one of her parents abused left her with scars both inside and outside. But she's come to Patterson's Bluff, Australia where she not hounded by the press but is just Angie it helps her landlord Jace Walters but wonderful people who don't care who she is or or why she's there. But after only two days she's fell in love with the town and it's people oh and Jace. But can she win over the board of the local care center as well as Jace who's orderly world has been turned upside down and now includes dog sitting for his mother's friend.

Jace Walters has always been different than the rest of his brothers and sister he loves routine and order calmed his "high functioning" autism. When he gets talked into watching Tilly and Truffle for 2 months will throw his schedule off, now if he can just get beyond his writer's block for his comic. When he finds out Angie may have to leave because her visa extension is denied and if she wants to stay she'll need to get married. Will he watch while she researches the towns bachelors or will he offer himself because she's become very important to his life?

American Angie Donovan desperately wants to stay in Australia and her extension was rejected. Her hope is to marry to stay in the country...but she wants love and not a marriage of convenience. Enter Jace Walters who is on the spectrum somewhere is vehemently against marriage and distraction...but somehow the thought of Angie marrying someone else is the most distracting of all. Throw in 2 adorable dogs you get a fun read.

The Aussie Next Door caught me off guard, but in a good way. Not many authors can approach special needs and adequately convey the issue, but Stefanie London has done just that in this refreshing romance. Autism and PTSD effect not only the daily life of our lead characters, but how they approach and respond to romantic interests and relationships. Loved the added element of how the dogs interact/play off their emotions! Quick read, and another winner by the author.

A Diamond in the Rough.....

This story plucked my heart strings something fierce. Jace and Angie's story took me by surprise, in a really good way. Jace Walters lived his life by a regimented timetable that always suited him and served his purpose in his life. He craved being by himselfand in his own world. Coming from a family of seven, he yearned for alone time. As soon as he was able, he moved out of his family home to seek quiet solitude, and to live the hermit lifestyle. No fuss, no muss.

Jace's world was hit by a force that went by the name Angie Donovan. Angie was American, hot and sexy. She was extroverted with a capital "E", in other words the total opposite of him. Angie came from a tumultuous past that had her moving to Australia soshe could start a new life. But starting a new life does not always go to plan. The sand in her hourglass was running out in the form of her Visa expiring and sending her back to her rocky past. Angie develops a plan but it isn't as easy as she anticipates.

I found this romance more than ordinary. It was emotionally powerful. Once in a blue moon, if we are lucky we find a gem of a story that impacts your life. This one definitely did that to me.

Angie wants to stay in Australia because her life in America was hell. The poster child for abused children she wanted to live in a place where she could be anonymous. However, her visa renewal has been denied and she only has a few weeks to figure out how to stay in the country. Her good looking next door neighbor, Jace, is shocked when Angie tells him her sleazy lawyer suggested they marry. Angie would rather marry Jace if she has to marry someone but he never wants to marry. So when Angie starts looking for a potential husband, Jace can't figure out why he's so jealous. Enjoyable romance.

Loved this book! Angie is the American that needs to marry and Australian to stay in the country. Jace is her landlord and reluctant friend to Angie. They seemed to come to life on the pages. I found myself totally invested in their story and wanting them to get their HEA ending.

This is a wonderful story that made me fall in love with the characters and Australia. The author created characters that are fully developed and with backstories that added depth to their story. She treated their problems with a gentle touch and addressed them in a respectful way.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
