Melinda Leigh's books are a guilty pleasure of mine, especially her Morgan Dane series. These are good when I want a good story that combines romance and crime solving. In Save Your Breath, it's personal when Lincoln Sharp's new love interest, Olivia Cruz, turns up missing. Morgan and Lance leave no stone unturned in their search, even while balancing three young girls, a sick nanny, and an upcoming wedding. There are enough twists to keep the story from being predictable, and delivers a fun read.

Another great read from Melinda Leigh. Crime=fighting duo Morgan and Lance are in fine form in this thriller. Journalist Olivia Cruz has been kidnapped and her boyfriend Sharp enlists Morgan and Lance in his quest to find her. Along the way the trio, and others, stumble into dangerous situations, as is to be expected. However, Melinda Leigh manages to make this a compulsive, page-turning thriller when other wise it could have been a formulaic run-of-the-mill tale. I raced through this book - hardly drawing breath! I won't give away any spoilers but if you're after a well-written and comprehensive thriller to read then this is the book for you. My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for my unbiased review.

In this last adventure about Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger they are in a race to save true crime writer Olivia Cruz who has been kidnapped. Lincoln Sharp Olivia’s boyfriend is desperate to find her. While investigating they uncover shocking secrets about old murder cases. This series has been one of my favorites and I’m sad to see it end but I know there will be greater things coming in the future.

Melinda Leigh returns with one of the tightest, most cohesive crime-busting, lawyer-PI team in the Morgan Dane series—I can’t seem to get enough of Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger—and ‘Save Your Breath’ is yet another great instalment in this fantastic lineup.

I think I’ve said this in every review of the series, but written from a romance review’s perspective, I’ll need to say it again: the romance is slight and brought off-screen, given the established pairings, with slight touches and kisses and reaffirming words forming the basis of affection here. Lance and Morgan are grounded in each other and it’s always a joy to read about their mature relationship and how they get on in each new book, so ‘Save Your Breath’ furthers their relationship just a little more and probably gives them the short but needed HEA all of their stalwart fans want.

As much as I was hoping for a sharper focus on Lincoln Sharp’s and Olivia Wade’s romance developing along side Morgan/Lance’s rock-solid one, ‘Save Your Breath’ wastes no time in moving past their attraction, straight onto the meat of the story of Olivia’s disappearance and several seemingly unlinked cases.

There’s no doubt that Leigh always crafts a good suspense; this far into the series, the pacing, tone and characters are nuanced and pitch-perfect, though a mite bit predictable plot-wise, or even a bit of a let down when all’s revealed and tied up.

Still, it's a smooth read otherwise, engaging and compelling and if this is really Leigh’s last in this series, I’ll be saying a very, very wistful goodbye.

This is the 6th book of Melinda Leigh's Morgan Dane series. This is one of my favorite series and authors! This book focuses on Olivia and Sharp while Morgan and Lance take a more supporting role. The story moves Sharp and Olivia nicely as fully-developed side characters. We also see more of Morgan's family from other books (Stella and Mac) than we usually see, which is nice because I started out with Melinda Leigh by reading her Scarlet Falls series.

As with the others in the series, there is plenty of action and near-death experiences with Olivia's kidnapping. The crew investigates alongside the police, which typically doesn't happen. The case is a little convoluted and I'm wondering if anything more comes from the inclusion of the anti-government group in further books.

Super excited about Lance and Morgan's ending in this book and can't wait for the next.

Save Your Breath by Melinda Leigh is an excellent addition to the Morgan Dane series. The book is well written and well developed.

I enjoy the characters in this book and their interactions and relationships. I love Morgan’s three little girls and their relationship with Morgan’s soon-to-be-husband, Lance. The story grips you from page one and has many twists and turns that keep you guessing until the big reveal at the end.

Save Your Breath is a gripping romantic suspense novel that will take you on a wild ride. There are tears, laughter, and heart-stopping action.

Author Melinda Leigh is able to draw readers in and keep them turning the pages until the exciting conclusion. Do yourself a favor and start from the series beginning to get to know these characters and enjoy some great writing, good story plots, and fast-paced action and romance.

The final book in the series ended with what we’ve all been hoping for, wedding bells! Leigh gets you hooked from the prologue. Intriguing and realistic suspense keeps you guessing and of course the twist which always has you questioning all the characters. Thank you Melinda for the advance read!

This latest edition to the series is one of the most suspenseful. Full of tension and twists, it grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. There is a lot going on and lots to unravel. The mystery of Olivia's disappearance brings many characters into the fray. There are a couple of wonderful things too that balance the story. Not sure where things will go from here as the last thing the author stated was she wasn't sure if this would be the last book. If it is, fans can rest assured they will be satisfied. If there is a next book I will be reading it.

There is a lot to appreciate in the Morgan Dane series and this book continues the revelation of Morgan and Lance. Olivia Cruz, the first woman Lance's boss and surrogate Father Lincoln Sharp, has been close to in years disappears from her home in the middle of the night it is all hands on deck. Nothing about Olivia's disappearance makes sense and her intense privacy about the stories she is working on make clues to her disappearance few and far between. Not to muddy the waters, but Morgan and Lance have their wedding scheduled in two weeks. Plenty of layers and twists in this book, prepare to be entertained.

Save your Breath is another great read involving Attorney Morgan Dane and her fiancé Private Investigator Lance Kruger.
The action in this book never gives up, descriptive and exciting the characters jump off the pages. Olivia an investigative journalist is writing a true crime thriller and has uncovered some truths she know will cause problems for some individuals, now girlfriend of Lincoln Sharp a retired police detective turned P.I. she suddenly disappears. The race is on to find her, Lincoln is besides himself as he realises how much she means to him after they have tried to keep the relationship casual. They need to find her, not knowing if she is dead or alive the clock is against them in cases like this.
Their investigation starts opening many avenues and there are individuals who would rather them not succeed.
A gripping romantic thriller, more thrills than romance but it is lovely to read how Morgan and Lance’s relationship is as solid and loving as always.
With lots of twists and turns and an ‘on the edge of your seat’ finale an absolutely riveting read.
My thanks to net galley and publisher Montlake for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

A gripping romantic suspense story, “Save your Breath”, by Melinda Leigh, is also a very much expected opportunity to meet again Morgan Dane, and her fiancé, PI Lance Kruger, his exciting boss, retired police detective Lincoln Sharp, and his girlfriend, journalist Olivia Cruz, and their extended families.
As much as I enjoyed the thriller plotline, my pleasure reading this book comes mostly from reconnecting with these wonderful characters, turned vivid and compelling by Melinda Leigh’s talent.
Although the older couple (Sharp/Olivia) is central to the plot, the very essence of the suspense demands they’re separated for most of the story, so I’m eagerly waiting for the next book to see this reluctant couple after having admitted their feelings. Still, it was humble and heartbreaking to watch control freak Sharp give in to pain and fear when Olivia faces danger. Sharp and Olivia, a courageous, intelligent journalist, are both wary of commitment, but tragedy has a way of showing them what’s really important.
Love and respect is what characterizes Morgan and Lance’s relationship, as the author writes, and I would apply the same to the other characters and relationships, grateful and relieved that Melinda Leigh doesn’t rely on unnecessary drama to write great romantic suspense stories.
Great, exciting read, I was hooked until the end.

Save Your breath, the 6th in the Morgan Dane series, had me holding my breath throughout. Each book is written is such detail and suspense, you feel like you are there in the story. This book revolves around Olivia Cruz, who has gone missing. She is 48 and is the maybe exclusive interest of Lincoln Sharp, they haven’t put a label on things yet, but enjoy each other. Lincoln is an ex detective who now owns a private investigation firm. Olivia goes missing, and Sharp and his cohorts are trying desperately to find her knowing time is of the essence. This is where is feel the story had me. There were twists and turns I did not see coming, and the storyline really starts draws you in with each character that takes you on a roller coaster of trying to figure out what happened to Olivia. I just loved how the story all came together. It was written to keep you holding your breath throughout. Another amazing read from this series.

The final book in the series (sad face) has the team racing to find Lincoln's girlfriend Olivia Cruz after she is kidnapped.

Was Olivia taken because of the two cases she was investigating for her true-crime book or some other nefarious reason.

As Morgan, Lance and Lincoln start uncovering clues they are shocked at how many different suspects end up on their list along with a few surprise ones from what they considered an unrelated case. But even with a large cast of suspects they still aren't any closer to finding Olivia and they know time is running out for her.

All whilst this is happening Morgan is supposed to be finalizing her and Lance's wedding planning which of course gets put on the back burner. By the end of the book, and the shocking reveal of who and why Olivia was taken, many threads from the series come full circle and are wrapped up in a very satisfying way.

Even though its bittersweet that this brings the end of this series I am looking forward to the new series with homicide detective Bree Taggert.

4* Decent addition to the series, but it had a few too many red herrings in it, so much so that I was struggling to recall who was who and what their possible connections were...

I can't figure out if this is the end of this series, now that a certain event has taken place, tying up some ends very nicely, and with Sharp having realised that he's in love with Olivia, and being pretty sure she feels the same. It both feels like it should be, and shouldn't, but I wonder if the trio of Morgan, Lance and Sharp might work even closer now after events of this book?

This book doesn't veer far from the blurb and it's a good read, happening over a really short period of time, with so many things and people muddying the waters. Tbh, I ended up a bit muddled trying to figure out all the various mentions of people who Olivia might have come into contact with, those who might have had hidden agendas, who was connected to who/not, but to the end, they turned out to be red herrings and I *never* would have guessed who the bad guy/s were. I mean, it's happened(ish) to someone of Olivia's profession(ish) before in another book, and there was a certain irony, I think, in Melinda Leigh making the bad guy/s who they were. I wonder if she's given herself nightmares? The places writers' imaginations go to...!

I enjoyed the ending and the series is left open for more, but at the same time, it kind of felt as if an unvoiced full stop has been reached in Lance and Morgan's lives, and if the series did end there, it'd be a pretty decent place.

This latest installment in the Morgan Dane series does not disappoint!!! Once I started, I could not put it down! Read from cover to cover in just about 2 hours. This is one of my all time favorite series!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book - could be a stand alone but you would be missing out on a GREAT series if you don't start with book 1. Each book just keeps getting better. Well-written, well-developed characters with depth and personality. Can't wait for book 7.

Thank you #netgalley and #montalkeromance for the eARC.

I was so excited to read this latest installment. Who needs clean clothes for the week? And cereal is a fine dinner. I'm just sad it ended so fast. Great as always. Stands alone but you should do yourself a favor and read them all in order. Just do laundry first.
