4 1/2 Stars!
Naz and Eva’s story continues from Dangerous Beauty and it will take you on a roller coaster ride with another cliffhanger! I just love that Eva is no push over and that she has men just falling at her feet. In this book we get introduced to Killian ... and at first I really don’t like him. But then he does some odd things for someone who’s supposed to be a ruthless killer and I begin to doubt my earlier interpretation of him. Is he a really bad guy or just a bad guy ... because we know he’s not a good guy. I don’t want to say much more and spoil the story ... so all I’m going to say is “I can’t wait for the next book!”
I received an early copy courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.
3 stars. Dangerous Desires is book two in the Dangerous Beauty trilogy. I enjoyed book one in the series, despite not knowing going in that it was not a standalone. This book is the continuation of Eva's story. In book one, she met and fell in love with Naz, all while on the run from her psycho, abusive, crime boss ex. In this book, her story continues. I can't say much without spoiling the story, but I will say things get more and more complicated for her (and Naz).
I have to say I did not enjoy this book as much as book one. At least I was able to predict the cliffhanger ending this time. I liked Eva and Naz when they were together. Unfortunately, they are separated half of the book. There is another man introduced during the separation and beyond, which felt very love triangle-like. There is kissing between them, under duress, but still. In fact, I wondered if the series would end up as a MFM menage. That made me feel insecure in the love between Eva and Naz. I just didn't feel it in this book the way I did in book one. When they actually are together, Eva and Naz are really cheesy, lovey-dovey, but I still didn't really feel fully convinced of the emotions between them. Still, I did find the story entertaining for the most part, if a little slow at times.
Overall, this series' storyline is interesting and exciting. I like Eva and Naz and want them to have a happy ending. I will continue the series in hopes for that HEA.
The second book in this series AND YES THERE IS A CLIFF HANGER AT THE END. Hopefully, everything will be tied up in the third book. This book opens where the first book ended. Naz, waking up in the hospital and wondering what and where is Eva. You find out where she is because she agreed to her agreement with Dimitri and is abroad a boat with some men one the ring leader named Killian. He is the new guy, not for her but at the beginning, you don’t know whether you are going to hate him or sort of like him and still maybe want to hate him but can’t. Killian after a bit is using her to get something from Dimitri for he is not what you thought he was at the beginning. The problem is once he and Naz meet up Naz is totally alpha male and Eva has to put an end to it if they are to get to an end game. The real suspense is what happens on the boat for you never know what will happen from page to page and Killian can change from mean to nice within a tick of each other is freaky, this keeps her off guard, but Eva fights as much as can and thinks of Naz and that is what keeps her going. Just when you think everything will be okay it’s not and once again she is taken away, but this time there also was something revealed prior to her being taken which will give Naz extra strength to find her. A good story can’t wait for the next book.
Again another on the edge of your seat rollercoaster ride! The book picked up where the last one left off, with no pause in action. Eva got on my nerves though and so did our new character Killian. Eva always just seems to step in trouble all the time. It’s like never ending drama. Killian bickers like a teenager and when Naz gets into the mix their banter gets so juvenile and the act like teenagers. I would have gave the book a 5 star rating if it was not for that. I can’t wait for the next part to find out what will happen.
Received an ARC from the publisher for a honest review.
In the previous book, I was surprised by the cliffy. I can't say I didn't know what I was getting into this time. And I'd do it again because, holy crap, that was a wild ride and I loved it! This one picked up where Dangerous Beauty left off. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. I can't get enough of these characters and can't wait to get book three in my hands so I can find out how all of this plays out.

I’m dead. Or, at least, I think I am. It’s so bad, but it’s soooooo sooooo good.
Book 2 of J.T. Geissinger’s Dangerous Beauty series started off where our appetites were whetted in Book 1. Eva was abducted and locked up on a voyage cruise ship (not a bad way to stay in when kidnapped, btw). Naz is scrambling to find her, while into the story enters the mysterious Killian. He beats Eva up pretty badly, but shows a contrasting personality to his captive.
Geissinger holds an eerie power with her words. She made me giggle, sucked me into her fictional Mission:Impossible type of world, and left me bereft at the end of “Dangerous Desires.” One thing I must admit, however, is that I found there to be certain portions that were a bit OTT, a.k.a. cringy. Like, the instance when Eva confronted Killian at the time they met and she dropped a line that was so Hollywood-ish, I couldn’t help rolling my eyes at how unbelievably naive-sounding the lady was. Anyone else in her position would just crumble up and bawl their eyes out. She was, like, (and I’m paraphrasing here) “I’m not afraid of you. You can do anything you want. I’m immune, because I’m saving the man I love.” Ugh! Bleh. There were sporadic cheesy lines like this all throughout, too, but after a while, I kinda got used to them. Naz was such a softy. He’s characterized as an alpha-male, but man, he’s whupped. Good whupped, though, ‘coz he actually sounds angelically romantic with a bit of He-Man complex thrown in. Geissinger showed the characters’ humanity throughout their story. They agonized, they cried, they laughed, they teased, they loved. I still think that if they were in real-life, there’d be waaaaay more drama in this, but, thankfully, Geissinger spares us from reading about reality and allowed us to escape into another world where ballerinas can face up against physically abusive terrorist lovers, spies, kidnappers, murderers, alpha-male ex-military bodyguards, etc.
Admission #2: I thought this was gonna be MFM. #sorrynotsorry
It’s not.
Admission #3: *Sigh* Book 3, Dangerous Games, where art thou? November seems like it’s still 10,000,001 light years away. DON’T KILL KILLIAN OFF, beeteedubs. He’s a potential new book hero. Anyhoo, I’ll stop here, lest I continue drooling obsessively over Dangerous Desires.
November!! I have to wait til November?!?! I love it!
I've been anxiously awaiting this one. My fingers were starting to cramp from clinging to the cliff! I love, love, loved it! The quippy relationship between Naz & Eva. The dark humor. Connor, Tabby, the mysterious Killian...This book has all my favorite elements!! Wit, seemingly unstoppable, super human heros and heroines, steamy passion, unfailing faith & love, intriguing mystery, and twists that make me want to throw my Kindle across the room. I can't wait for more!! I love a cliffhanger! I received an advanced copy from NetGalley. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
When Naz wakes up in the hospital he is disoriented at first, and then he realizes that Eva is gone. It only gets worse from there. Not only is she not at the hospital, she is gone and he has to find her before things get worse. When he sees her on video footage being grabbed by the throat and yanked by the hair, he is livid. Why would she willingly go back to her ex? Will he be able to find her in time.
When Eva boards the ship, she is in fight mode. Killian is a horrible person, and she believes the other man on board might be her savior. When she backtalks Killian he grabs her and acts just like her ex. She starts to play the game and realizes that he is good at hiding things, but sometimes he lets things slip. When she tries to make an escape, he retrieves her and locks her in her room.
Killian is an interesting man. I think I have just as many questions about him after finishing the book as I did at the beginning. He isn't completely evil, but he definitely has a dark side. When he ends up teaming up with Naz, not only are both men jealous of the other, but they both have differing view on how to keep Eva safe. Eva is no wallflower though and demands that she be kept informed of the plans.
There is a lot of action and intrigue in this book. The ending will leave you on the edge and wanting the next book as soon as possible. Naz and Eva have an unwavering love, but it might not be enough to save Eva this time. I only hope that they actually did what they discussed doing so he can find her faster and end her ex once and for all. I can't wait to see how Naz and Killian join forces to save/help Eva. I am rooting for Eva and Naz to find a happily ever after, but I kind of hope Killian does too.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
Naz and Eva couldn't possibly have had a worse day...and yet that was before this book starts! Dangerous Desires picks up tight where Dangerous Beauty leaves off. Naz in the hospital and Eva making a choice.
Good thing, Naz doesn't like ultimatums or his choice taken away. His drive and her need set them on a different journey then they expected.
Desires is full of the lust, intrigue, and snarky/witty comments that Beauty was. I love that both Eva and Naz try to keep their sense of humor. As a weirdly inappropriate commenter in bad times myself, I felt like one of the family! Lol.
Of course don't forget the main lesson we were taught in the first book, always expect the unexpected.
I look forward to seeing how these three work together and save the world!
A keep you on the edge of your seat page turner that will keep you reading well into the night. This book has all the feels and lots of action. A great second book in a trilogy that will leave you wanting more and begging for the third book so you can see how it all ends.
DANGEROUS DESIRES by J.T. Geissinger is book Two in the Dangerous Beauty Series. This continues the story of Nasir 'Naz' and Evalina 'Eva', so you really should read the first book 'Dangerous Beauty' first to fully enjoy this one. Eva has gone missing and of course Naz is hot on her trail to find her. Eva had wanted to protect Naz but her plan didn't go the way she thought. Now she is more of a pawn in a dangerous game. Their story is one that is steamy but also it brings the drama that keeps you turning the pages. This one does end to set us up for the next part of this series.
And we have another cliff hanger... meaning I have to wait months for the next part of this story.
I hate cliff hangers.
I think books should have to state they end on one. I don’t believe this one states that anywhere. Maybe I should have read through reviews before picking this one up.
So this is book 2 - do not start this one unless you have read book 1. You will be lost. This one starts exactly where the last one left off.
I don’t want to say anything about this one since it is the middle of the whole story. It would be unfair of me to give anything away.
Just know this one is pretty great. I might have rated it with 5 stars if it didn’t end so abruptly. I'm a little annoyed now... hopefully the next book ends this story for me exactly how I want it to end.
P.S. I wouldn’t be mad if all these books had already been release and I was reading them in order. I only have myself to blame.
Whoa! Strap yourselves in for this rollercoaster ride, everyone! It's a doozy! Going to preface my review by stating that this is Part 2 of 3. If you haven't read Dangerous Beauty which is Book 1 then go no further. There will be spoilers ahead since this is a continuing storyline with the same hero and heroine. Now...on to the good stuff. This book picks up right where we left off in Dangerous Beauty...with Eva surrendering herself to the enemy to save Naz. It's here that we see the emergence of a new character in Killian. Aaaaaah Killian.....the baddest of the bad-asses, not a nice guy by any stretch of the imagination but dangerously intriguing. His motivations become clearer as the book progresses but for most of it he was attractive in a scary, mysterious kind of way. He's a wild card...and Eva's captor. When Naz discovers that Eva is gone he flies right into action. He is going to get his woman back and that's it. I have such a girl crush on Eva. She is the first to admit she is not physically strong enough or trained in weapon use to defeat her enemies. But she is smart and intuitive and resourceful enough to find her way around obstacles. I will admit I was worried that with the way the storyline was going, that for most of the book Eva and Naz would be apart but this was not the case. And their moments together were wonderful. Lots of witty dialogue and romantic moments that were smoking hot, poignant and beautiful. My favorite quote:
" I love you more than I've ever loved anything in my life. More than I thought was even possible. I would kill for you. I would die for you. And I swear there's nothing in this world or out of it that will ever separate me from you again."
In this installment we get more insight into Dimitri's end game and it is every bit as horrific as you would think. Can he be stopped? At this point we can only hope since our final installment, Dangerous Games, is a few months away. Excellent book! Pretty much read in one sitting since I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I am loving everything about this series and eagerly anticipating the final chapter. And Killian? Well.....don't think I would mind a book or two for him down the road...
J.T. Geissinger has done it again, folks. Having absolutely loved book 1, she set the bar pretty dang high for me with this main couple’s relationship and continuing unfolding drama. Well, that bar is now sky high and continues to climb. I’m guessing it will hit outer space in the near future. She had me absolutely reeling with the introduction of a brand new twist involving a sexy, sinful, lethal sub-character, who added even more danger to an already life threatening situation. As if I wasn’t already blown away by Naz and Eva’s story, this guy was like pouring gasoline on their perilous circumstances and lighting a match. Yeah, Killian’s proven he’ll set the world on fire if that’s what it takes to get what he wants.
Eva has proven she’ll go to the ends of the earth and make the ultimate sacrifice for love. I absolutely loved her resilient, sassy, selfless character. Whether it be with Naz or Killian, her quick witted banter did the sisterhood proud. You simply can’t keep this good woman down, folks. Make no mistake though. She is all about Naz and no other man holds her heart.
Naz never gives up hope on finding Eva, but he nearly goes out of his mind with worry. What hasn’t killed them has only made their love for each other stronger. His unwaiverly determination to get his lady love back proves he’ll be just as lethal as Killian if anyone stands in his way. Btw, the back and forth adversarial banter between these two gorgeous guys was epic! I loved their stare downs and quick combative comebacks
Yes, you owe it to yourself to read book 1 first, my fellow romance book loving friends. Mainly because you don’t want to miss a single second of Naz and Eva’s back storyline. Though book 2 continues the saga and ends with another major cliffhanger, the writing here flows so seamlessly I feel the author did a great job of recapping past events. If no other option, by all means, jump into the water here and get sucked into this explosive romantic tale. A piece of this relationship and drama is better than never having known them at all. I absolutely can’t wait for the conclusion in book 3, Beautiful Games.
Title: Dangerous Desires, Series: Dangerous Beauty (Book 2), Author: J.T. Geissinger, should read book 1 first, great resilient, selfless, fights for love heroine, alpha protective good guy hero, some violence, cliffhanger ending, heroine is kidnapped/beaten.
Book 1 - Dangerous Beauty
Book 2 - Dangerous Desires
Book 3 - Dangerous Games
(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review, nor is there any affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher/NetGalley.)
A scary and violent beginning and I have never been so protective of any other character. As Eva is lost to Dimitri, I loved the separate drama that unfolded. The events with Eva on the ship and the ones with Naz (after his accident) were so well crafted. And when they came together again, it was pure magic.
I HAVE to mention here that I was fascinated by Killian (broody, murderous and disturbing, but with those sad eyes that are looking for love) and expected a love triangle to happen (which I absolutely hate). Eva and Naz go through a separation phase and I admit, I missed their casual and witty one on ones and mind-blowing lovemaking.
Naz’s alpha behavior comes to light way more than the first book and at times, he is just so freaking adorable with his overprotective nature. Eva balances him perfectly with her tender heart and the go-getter attitude despite all the dangers lurking in the shadows. There is a lot more chase in this book and that built the suspense up very well.
Geissinger makes me laugh even at the most anxious situations and curl my toes with all the brilliant romance she writes. I can never get enough of her stories.
There is a cliffhanger (obviously) at the end that positively surprised me and here starts the wait for the next book. Gahh!
OMG I read this book in a day... edge-of-your-seat suspense, nail-biting action, a love so strong and sure and characters to die for... all the things I LOVE in a great book!
This series is not a standalone and has huge cliffhangers at the end of books 1 and 2 and it's SO hard to wait for the next in the series, but the anticipation is SO worth the wait. This was the perfect continuation from book 1 and answered some questions while leaving us with an OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE LEFT US LIKE THAT ENDING!
Dangerous Desires picks up where book 1 left us... Naz is looking to rescue the woman he loves while Eva is trying to protect Naz by returning to her ex Dimitri. The danger and mystery is thrilling and I can't help but feel that there is something beneath Killian that made me want to know him more! That ending... OMG THAT ENDING! GAH!
Dangerous Games is my most anticipated book of 2019 and I can't wait to find out how it all ends!
What an incredible part 2 to the Dangerous Beauty series. This is not just a love story, but is also a fast paced and super exciting thriller which grabs you on the first page and doesn't let you go until you have read the last page.
In her effort to protect Naz from Dimitri, Eva leaves him in the hospital and disappears. She is met by someone who takes her to a boat where she meets the mysterious Killian who she thinks must be one of Dimitri's men from the way he treats her. Eva believes that she will be lucky to survive the trip back to Dimitri but she is willing to sacrifice herself to save the love of her life.
In the meantime, Naz is going crazy trying to find her, using all the assets and connections that his organization has at it's disposal, and as he manages to track her down, and meets Killian the truth comes out that Dimitri has more evil plans than just wanting Eva back, and somehow he has to be stopped.
I was just riveted by this story, and could not put it down. It is so intense, with lots of surprises and unanswered questions, and it left me wondering who this Killian guy really was, and would Naz end up killing him or becoming best friends with him? Guess we might find out in book three! Lastly what can I say about that ending, an absolutely heart-stopping cliffhanger!
I love the writer's move into this romance/thriller genre it is so different to anything I have read from her before, and I have read just about everything. Just cannot wait for the conclusion. Incredible Ms Geissinger, I would give you more than five stars if I could.
Okay, first a fair warning: This is not a standalone book and you cannot start this series with this book, you need to read the first one – Dangerous Beauty (my review here)!!!
So the book follows Eva’s journey after she left him. She wanted to go back to Dimitri because she wanted to protect Naz – I can understand that even though I’m sure Naz could offer protection to both of them. Unfortunately, she finds herself on the boat with the spy. Now, I don’t know about you but personally, I’d prefer if I didn’t know beforehand that he was a spy (the blurb is a little spoiler-ish) because then my reading experience would be different – if I didn’t see him as a hero too. He did some terrible things but when it’s explained (and of course, when you know he’s a spy) you easily forgive him.
Naz is pissed (what else, right?) and went to get her back. They reunite in Portugal (and the reunion is quite quick, I so wasn’t expecting such an easy reunion) and they are planning to destroy Dimitri. We’re left with that (huh, yes, for such a long book and me basically saying it all without – hopefully – spoil everything).
Buuuuuut….
I hate to say this but OMG, THAT ENDING. She did something so stupid, I’m pretty sure some readers would call her action TSTL. It’s THAT stupid, okay? Like when I was reading what she did I was like ”NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, DON’T DO THAT, HOW STUPID ARE YOU?”.
With that said, you have been warned. It was a great read with not much action as the first book (I mean suspense and that not the sexual kind 😉 ) but I wish the blurb wouldn’t be so revealing and her action(s) wouldn’t be so stupid. Also, when I read the blurb it kind of hinted like there might be a twisted love triangle or a menage – there’s thankfully none of that (not that I mind it – I just wouldn’t expect it after the first book) …
3.5 stars.
I am curious how their story concludes so I’m looking forward to the final part even though trilogies with the same MCs are so not my cup of tea.

I'm so excited about this one because it just means more Nasir and Eva. You must read this in series order (read Dangerous Beauty first). The love is still so strongly felt between Nasir and Eva in Dangerous Desires. Both will stop at nothing to keep each other safe from Dimitri's clutches. I love how strong Eva is. She seems to grow stronger with each book so far. And in Dangerous Desires you just see her shine through everything she is up against. She may put herself in harm's way but she does it with reason. I love how Tabby, Connor, and Nasir stop at nothing to get to Eva. The biggest question you'll have is can you trust him? As you read you'll know who I'm talking about. Yes, there is a huge cliffy. Yes, you will be sucked in and taken on a ride. This book and series are amazing when it comes to the suspense and the heat that J.T. Geissinger brings into Naz and Eva's life. I so can't wait for the next book. I couldn't put this down.
I like this author writing and her stuff is always action packed. Will have to wait for more now, gotta find out what happens next.
