This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Most of the book was set in Scotland, which I found refreshing since most historical novels I’ve read are set in England. Even though the hero and heroine are at odds for most of the book, they bring out the best in each other. I was happy to see Juliana get her happy ending after reading the previous book in the series.
This story was so much fun! Logan is the perfect rugged Scot! And Juliana is a wonderful spunky wee English Lady. Their chemistry is evident from the beginning but starts with plenty of heated arguments. Ms. Bradley does a great job of showing both of their sides to the story without giving the reader whiplash. The love grows between the both of them in a beautiful way and there were plenty of swoon-worthy moments. There isn't a thing about it I would change.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for the eARC!
Juliana must marry to retain custody of her niece. But after two failed betrothals, she starts to have doubts about it every happening. Her last chance is her best friend, the Duke of Blackmore. The only problem is that she has not heard from him in months. So she decides to head off to Scotland to track him down.
Logan wants what is best for his clan and that is not his brother, the duke, marrying an Englishwoman. He does everything in his power to stop it from happening. But when the Englishwoman shows up on his doorstep and Juliana learns that the duke is in love and already betrothed to another woman, Logan is offered up as the replacement groom.
They end up married, but start out as enemies. Can they make this marriage of convenience turn to one of true love?
I loved Juliana and Logan's story! They start out as adversaries and end up falling in love. In between there were many antics that had me laughing out loud! This was a great addition to the Besotted Scots series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Available for purchase on 9-17-19, To Wed A Wild Scott is Anna Bradley's second book in the new Besotted Scots series. Offered up for our reading pleasure are Lady Julianna Bernard and Logan Blair, Laird of Clan Kinross. Ms Bradley gives us rather vivid mental pictures of the wildness and beauty of the Scottish Highlands. The entire country is somewhat of a dichotomy, and also an antinomy. There can be beauty in the wildness and wildness in the beauty. This can be applied to our couple. Both strong, stubborn, determined people and yet scared, unsure, and unable to speak their minds. Normal in most people but taken to extremes in Juliana and Logan. Instant attraction doesn't always lead to a smooth relationship. These two are complex and sometimes wearing down.
Logan's twin brother was taken away to England as an infant; they don't remember each other. One is Laird and one is Duke, of the same land and people. Their relationship alone could fill an entire book. Lady Juliana has been BFF's with Fitz, the twin, all her life. Their families hoped they would wed, Juliana has already let another man off the hook. Her kind actions have circled back around to become a nightmare. She needs a husband to retain custody of her niece. She travels all over and does un-ladylike things to try and save Grace. It leaves her fierce and shaken at the same time; she's a bundle of nerves and a hot mess. Our couple have to come to terms with the fact that only Logan can save the situation, neither really wants this. It takes so long to work through their feelings & finally have a meaningful talk that I was beginning to wonder at it all. They are lovely people, to be commended on their sense of family, duty, and love. I'm glad they get an HEA. Nice people should always win and find a lasting love. Instant attraction really should be rewarded. Happy reading

This story is so romantic and captivating! I fell in love with Logan and Juliana in the first chapter and couldn't put it down. Even the Author's Notes are interesting. They're full of historical research and detail.
Logan is very passionate about his lands and people. Juliana is determined to get guardianship of her niece, Grace. The way they come together is full of page-turning goodness.
I don't rate books 5 stars very often but this story definitely deserves it.
I enjoyed this romance. I did like Logan and Juliana as a couple and how the storyline brought them toogether. It was fun to see their relationship evolve and feelings begin to grow between them. That being said, I did think that there were way too many misunderstandings and a lack of communication between these two. I feel trust should grow right alongside of deepening feelings and it really should get easier to actually talk to someone once you know them better. In spite of these things, I genuinely liked the book.
Overbearing Scotsman and a determined English Miss!
What more can one ask for? Fireworks aplenty! A feisty English lass (Lady Juliana Bernard) steals away the heart of a stubborn Scotsman (Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross), despite their battles, suspicions and inauspicious start.
The story had me at the disheveled wee Sassenach lass, vomit on the bottom of her skirts (don't ask!) dogging the Scotsman through the wilds to Castle Kinross--and I never looked back.
Juliana must find a husband to ensure her guardianship of her beloved niece Grace, and to prevent Grace from falling into the clutches of the alternative guardian, a cunning blackguard, Lord Cowden, whose measure Juliana has had since childhood.
Of course there's intrigue, hurt, double dealings, the threat of land enclosures and the dastardly actions of the rich English landlords, and most importantly, humor!
Bradley's research on the Scottish clearances and the resulting tragedies and impact on the population, which she's incorporated so ably into this novel, is to be commended.
A lively read!

4.5 Stars
Lady Juliana Bernard is in a bind she must find a husband at once or lose guardianship of her beloved niece Grace. Her childhood friend Fitz the Duke of Blackmore is her last, best hope, but once she tracks him down in Scotland, she receives startling news.
Firstly the duke is already engaged. Secondly it's his brother Logan's fault Juliana is now lacking a bridegroom. So, what's a lady to do when she's lost her betrothed? Marry his scandalous brother Logan, the Laird of Clan Kinross.
This is the second book in the series we met Juliana in the first book but it’s not necessary to have read it as this book can easily be read on its own. Logan & Juliana clash continually even though the attraction is there & they are the last to realise that they love each other. Whilst both strong characters they also have their insecurities that all too often surface. A loved Juliana’s feistiness & her rescue of Fiona was hugely entertaining. A well written engrossing read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I did wonder what had happened to Miss Findlay after Juliana abandoned her.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Swoon Worthy! Characters that will touch your heart and soul with a romance that will leave you breathless. But I was also taken by the research and history of this time period that Ms. Bradley included in this story, making it so realistic and giving the reader a true sense of what travesties happened, and how it affected the Clans in Scotland.
Enthralled from the first page this story pulled me in with a story that is steeped in history and a realistic dislike of anything English by the Scottish Clans after what they have witnessed and endured.
I swooned hard for Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross. Logan will do anything he has to do, to protect his clan and they respect and love him for all that he does for them. But soon his identical twin brother Fitzwilliam who has been raised in England his entire life will be coming and he will not let even his brother destroy his Clan.
Lady Juliana Bernard, is beside herself. she must be married in order to get custody of her niece Grace. She travels hundreds of miles when Fitzwilliam doesn’t reply to her letters. They have been betrothed since birth and she needs him now. But when she sees a man that looks just like him, when they stop for the night, she follows him to find Fitzwilliam. But her betrothed now belongs to another and Logan is responsible for it all.
Logan and Lady Juliana interactions are exhilarating, deliciously romantic, dreamy and seductive. These characters are perfect for each other. A true masterpiece, that was exhilarating, with writing so truly beautiful that it will stays with you long after you put this book down.
I received an early copy of this book through NetGalley.
A single lady of birth, beauty, and large fortune should not have this much trouble making a match. Yet after two failed betrothals, Lady Juliana Bernard is in a bind. She must find a husband at once or lose guardianship of her beloved niece.
Enter the twin brother of her best friend. She has taken an instant dislike for this stubborn and trouble making Scot but he is now her only hope to keep custody of her beloved niece.
Her best friend the duke is already engaged. The only other option is the duke’s scandalous brother, Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross. But Logan is the reason she is in this predicament.
can this unlikely pair put aside their differences and marry for the sake of an innocent child or will they find love in this outlandish scheme?
I was hooked from page one. I loved this newest Besotted Scots book by Anna Bradley. I couldn't put it down.
I gave this book 4.7 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization. Some of the characters were familiar to me from book #1 of this series.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book to read via NetGalley.
This in no way affected my opinion of this read which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
Lots of misunderstandings and lack of communication in this romance, but I liked it anyway. Juliana needs to marry in order to keep custody of her niece so she travels to Scotland to find her friend, Fitz. But, when she gets there Fitz in already engaged and expecting a child. So, Juliana weds his twin brother instead.
Anna Bradley has combined two of my favorite tropes in this newest installment of her Besotted Scots series. I was intrigued by Lady Juliana Bernard after meeting her in the first book of the series, The Wayward Bride and looked forward to reading her story, especially after her selfless gesture in that book. I enjoy a heroine who takes her future into her own hands and Lady Juliana certainly does that. I liked her, cheered for her, and celebrated the happiness she finally finds...with a most unexpected hero.
I really liked Logan's loyalty to his clan, and to Juliana and Grace, once he commits. He was in a no-win situation when he took it upon himself to interfere with his brother's business in order to protect his clan, not realizing the broader effects of his actions, but I understood why he did. He has wonderful chemistry with Juliana, aided by Bradley's snappy dialogue, but there's a lot of push and pull before they finally reach the point where they can admit their feelings. I love how these two go toe to toe; how they both try to protect the other. They really could be a wonderful match, if they can just learn to trust one another and communicate.
If I had one small quibble with this book, it's how the villain is dealt with. I understand Juliana's actions, and her underlying motivation, but I was left with the feeling that the villain had been rewarded for his actions as opposed to being punished and that left me disappointed. Overall, though, I enjoyed Juliana and Logan's journey and am already looking forward to whatever Anna Bradley has in store for readers next. And, as I noted in my questions below, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that those future plans will include a more complete story for secondary characters, Fitz and Emilia!
I'm a huge fan of Anna Bradley and this book added to the list of the reasons why. Her characters, both the hero and the heroine have such depth to them. To Wed a Wild Scot is book 2 in the Besotted Scots series. It can be read as a standalone. I had not previously read the first book and had no issues following the characters and the story.
Juliana is a strong, stubborn and determined woman, who travels to Scotland to find her best friend and have him marry her. She needs to marry in order to help save her niece from an unsavory man.
Logan is a strong, stubborn and determined man, who will do anything to save his clan, his people, from suffering the loss of their homes and way of life. It was the time of the Clearances in Scotland and it was a very horrifying, heartbreaking time in history.
When Juliana and Logan first meet they don't like each other at all. Logan kept secrets and was determined not to trust an English Lady. Being a romance, they work their way to each other but I won't spoil it for you. Read it! Their journey was a wonderful one.
I received an advance reader copy from NetGalley for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Logan & Juliana's story! He's a stubborn Scot and she's a stubborn Englishwoman....put the two together and you get fireworks!! Not liking each other very much when they first meet, it doesn't take long before their feelings change but due to misunderstandings and various events, neither admits their love to each other until it's almost too late.
It was also interesting to read about the Highland Clearances and how entire villages and the people in them were destroyed.....not a very proud time in history!!
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is my second book by Anna Bradley, and I enjoyed this one even more than the first. Juliana is a stubborn and determined heroine who is kind and loving too. Logan is strong, caring and very stubborn and honorable. Their story is an enjoyable and amusing read. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC for my honest opinion.
I was very excited at the beginning of this story. Juliana was a strong, feisty English woman in the wilds of Scotland. Then she goes back to England. Juliana was in the previous story and I really enjoyed reading about her in that book. For over half of this book I was uncaring about Juliana. I thought she was narcissistic. I know she only wanted to look out for Grace, but she did it to the detriment of everyone else, especially Logan, who I loved by the way (even though he is not the alpha Scot we all like to read about). I thought he was brave and loyal and did everything he could to protect.
Also, I had to go back and read all of the synopsis from Ms. Bradley’s other stories because I could not remember a story of Fitzwilliam and Emilia (and I could not find one). It is like we were dropped into their story without any background. That is another thing I found distracting in the book – not enough background or there were scenes where we heard about the end result but never saw what happened. For example, Logan visits Cowden on several occasions but we only read what happens on one occasion. I felt that was a huge plot point and should have been expanded.
I love everything Ms. Bradley has written but this one was just not my cup of tea. I also am not sure why this fits into the Ramsey story except Juliana was in the last book. Just my opinion.
To Wed a Wild Scot by Anna Bradley is the second book in the Besotted Scots series. I enjoyed the first book and was excited to read this one. Lady Juliana must marry and quickly due to her father’s worsting health and her desire to raise her niece, Grace. She was betrothed to a man, but backed off when she discovered he was in love with another person. So she has taken a huge risk and has journeyed to Scotland to ask her best friend, Fitz, Duke of Blackmore to marry her.
Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross was trying to prevent Juliana and others from getting to his brother, for reasons that make sense to him, but not to Juliana or even Fitz. Meanwhile, Juliana follows Logan to his brother. Her goal is to have Fitz marry her and save her niece. However, that is not to be and the solution is one that is difficult to accept, but there are not a lot of solutions available.
Juliana is headstrong and determined. While I admire that in a woman, I have to admit, she was in her own category, that might be off putting to some readers. I thought Logan, once I was past his own stubbornness, was a fair match to Juliana. Of course, nothing goes easily, especially when lack of communication is a problem.
I enjoyed To Wed a Wild Scot by Anna Bradley and would recommend it to others.
Logan is the twin to the Duke of Blackmore. They were separated by their uncle who needed an heir. Logan was left in Scotland as the head of the clan. Juliana is betrothed to the Duke of Blackmore. She travels to Scotland to find her Duke who is visiting her brother. She needs to marry so that she can have custody of her niece. Only one problem, the Duke has fallen in love with someone else. And so begins Juliana learning to find her strength and love with Logan.
A really sweet book and loved Juliana discovering her empowerment..
Lady Juliana Bernard is in a bind, he father is dying and thanks to the interference of a spurned suitor, has changed his will, Juliana will only retain custody of her orphaned niece Grace if she is married, if not Grace’s guardianship will be given to Lord Cowden. Having let her betrothed go so he could marry for love and desperate to make sure Cowden doesn’t get custody, Juliana writes to her dearest friend and former betrothed, Fitzwilliam “Fitz” Vaugh, the Duke of Blackmore. When her letters go unanswered, Juliana sets out to find him in Scotland.
After days of travel, they finally make it to the Scottish border in Gretna Green, weary and filthy Juliana is stunned to see Fitz at the inn – but closer examination reveals that it is not Fitz and when the man asks if she is alright, it is clear he is Scottish, but he looks exactly like Fitz and she decides he must be related and follows him. 3 days later, she is sure she is right when he stops at the inn that she sends her letters to Fitz – and watches in horror as the man reads her letter and then burns it! Then as he is leaving she hears him telling the innkeeper that if an English lady shows up, to send her back to England. Furious, Juliana follows him to the castle. He realizes he is being followed and is shocked to learn she is the woman who has been writing to Fitz.
Logan Blair is Fitzwilliam’s younger twin brother, when their mother died giving birth, their uncle claimed Fitz as his heir and returned to England – Logan did no see his brother for 28 years, but once his uncle died, Fitz made his way to Scotland to be reunited. Logan has acted as Laird for years since their father died and is worried that Fitz will do what so many English landowner have done and “clear’ the lands – for years Logan has been working to protect his people, by relocating them. And when Fitz came to the castle, Logan encouraged him to become betrothed to a local girl, Emilia – thinking that he would be less inclined to evict people if he was married to a Scottish girl – so he has been burning Fitz’s letters from Juliana, he wants nothing to interfere with his plans. But when she shows up he has no choice but to take her to see Fitz.
Fitz is appalled when he learns what Logan has done and offers to marry Juliana. But Logan tells Juliana that Fitz is already betrothed and his future wife is pregnant – leading Juliana to inform Logan that she will have to marry him instead, a solution that Logan is vehemently opposed to – leading Fitz to have to get involved.
This was a well written, fast read, but I can’t say that I loved it, it was OK, but I really didn’t like Logan at the beginning, I understood his motivation, but his refusal to marry her after interfering and burning their letters was a complete jerk move and then later jumping to conclusions and seemingly forced misunderstandings just really dimished my enjoyment in the story. This is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone title.
