Loved Loved loved this !!
This author is new to me but shall certainly be looking out for more of her work.
Logan was a little unsympathetic as a character first off but as the book went on I changed my mind - cleverly written to make that happen
A wonderful summer read - highly recommended
I couldn’t wait to read this book after reading The Wayward Bride. I fell in love with all the characters (Sydney and Luke, and Hugh and Isla will always have a big swoon from me) and needed to learn of Lady Juliana’s fate.
From the first page I was drawn into Lady Juliana’s plight. After letting Hugh out of their betrothal in the first book, Lady Juliana only had one option left to save Grace....Marry the Duke, Fitz.
However, things don’t go quite as planned and come to find out Fitz has a brother that has done irreparable damage to Juliana and Fitz’s betrothal. The story that ensues is wonderful. Watching the characters grow. Juliana backbone of steel and Logan’s willingness to do the right thing. Watching the two fall in love and overcome differences and misunderstandings was lovely. I even shed a few tears as their love grew.
This was a great love story. I am waiting now patiently for the next book. I would love to see Sydney and Luke make an appearance in another book. I have enjoyed all the characters and storylines of both books and I will continue to work through Ms. Bradley’s backlist as I wait for the next chapter in the Besotted Scots series. Highly recommend this book!
Lady Juliana Bernard doesn't have much time. Her father is sick and in order to keep guardianship of her young niece, she must marry quickly. She turns to her childhood friend, Fitzwilliam Vaughan, the Duke of Blackmore, for help. Unfortunately, getting to him is going to involve traveling to Scotland.
Juliana is devastated to learn Fitzwilliam has not received any of her letters; even worse his twin, Logan, Laird of Clan Kinross, has kept them from him. Juliana blames Logan, but that does not stop her demanding he step in for Fitzwilliam and marry her. Logan immediately refuses, but Juliana is determined to convince him to take a chance on her. Could everything work out for her?
Romance readers are sure to love TO WED A WILD SCOT by author Anna Bradley. All the characters leap from the pages and the dialogue is witty and fun. It is the kind of story that will have you turning the pages late into the night. Juliana is bold as brass and Logan is arrogant and headstrong. They clash for at least half of the story, but it only builds the tension. TO WED A WILD SCOT is a wonderful addition to the BESOTTED SCOTS series. I give it a 3.5 star rating.
I love books about Slytherins falling in love, and it's even better when Scotland's involved.

I love Anna Bradley’s books and this one did not disappoint. At first I wasn’t sure that I would care for the hero, Logan; but in the end, this character driven novel satisfied in every way.
The story is well thought out and nicely written making this an exciting page turner and one which I am more than happy to recommend."
Fun, light romantic story. Really enjoyed it.
Lady Juliana has had two broken engagements, and her critically ill father is worried about her future. He does not feel a woman should be alone, in charge of her money, land and most importantly the sole guardian of her orphaned niece. So he writes a will that states she must marry and marry well before he dies in order to maintain guardianship of Grace, otherwise she will be sent to a man Juliana detests to be raised. Desperate for a solution, she flees England on a dangerous journey to find her childhood best friend, and beg him to marry her. Sadly when she gets there the Duke is already engaged. With little else to do to ensure the welfare of her niece, she marries the Duke's long lost brother, who has lied to her, deceived her, and infuriated her at every turn. Can Juliana and Logan find a way to save Grace and live amicably together?
Great historical fiction romance with some laughs, drama, and a little spice!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story about Logan Blair, a Scottish Laird that loves his clan and will do anything for his people and Lady Julianna Bernard, an Englishwoman that goes all the way to Scotland to find a husband after losing two fiancés to keep her little niece out of the hands of an evil man. Julianna and Logan are flawed yet so perfectly matched for each other even though they don't realize it at the time they first met. I loved how both of them are brave, protective and kind and the lengths that each of them would go to save the people that they love. This romance is a standalone novel and delves into the social issues of highland clearances that serve as a background for the story. I wish that the highland clearances were a little bit better integrated with the main romance as it just seemed a side bar and not something that is actually part of the hero and heroine's journey. I also feel like I missed Fitzwilliam's story but I went and checked and don't think that his story is already out.

Logan and Juliana's story is one of true romance. This book has everything a romance reader wants in their stories, adventure, romance and a hint of danger. Any reader will love this book from start to finish.
An easy to read and immersive period romance- in a similar vein to a Sarah MacLean novel.
It tells the story of Spirited Lady Juliana, who is need of a husband so she can gain custody of her beloved niece. After a long and arduous journey, she discovers her best friend cannot marry her. So, instead, she resorts to trying to convince his estranged, wild and rugged Scottish brother to do so. A man who is very different from the English gentlemen she had hoped to marry.
I was worried it would have too much angst, but the writing actually avoided some of the most predictable plot cliches, resulting in a satisfactory read.
This is a stand alone novel by Anna Bradley.
The hero of the story is Logan Blair, Laird of Clan Kinross and twin brother to the Duke of Blackmore, Fitzwilliam Vaughn.
The heroine is Lady Juliana Bernard, daughter of the Marquess of Graystone.
Lady Juliana and Fitzwilliam have grown up together. Betrothed since birth, they are more like brother and sister, best friends. There is no romantic interest there. But when Juliana is in trouble, and needs to be married, the only person she can turn to is Fitzwilliam.
But Fitzwilliam has gone off to Scotland and has stopped answering her letters. So what's a girl to do? Go to Scotland!
Along the way she encounters Logan. She realizes he's not Fitzwilliam but looks so much like him, that he must be a relation. So she follows him to an inn where she sees him collecting the mail. He proceeds to take one of the letters, hers, and throws it in to the fire. She now knows why Fitzwilliam hasn't answered her.
When she finally arrives at Kinross, she finds Fitzwilliam in love, betrothed and expecting a baby. He tells her he never received her letters, thought she was betrothed (after receiving a letter from a friend). What's a girl to do now? Marry the one who caused all the problems.
And so the adventure begins between 2 very strong willed and determined people who each want to have their own way.
I loved the way Logan and Juliana interact. Fiesty, stubborn, Protective, caring and loving. They share so much in such a short period of time. Friendship, love and death.
This was a ver heartwarming book and I fully recommend it.

Spoiler alert... this is a breath-taking, , beautiful, sweet romantic story. Anna Bradley has outdone herself again. From the very start, she has her readers captivated with her vivid descriptions and spectacular writing. Her characters become one with us and we feel each emotion as if we are experiencing them ourselves. Logan and Juliana learn the importance of the strength that comes from love and the importance of talking things through rather than keeping them bottled up. They learn of their inner strengths and that not all attributes of strength are physical. A must read!
Lady Juliana has given up two fiances for noble reasons, but now she's desperate to marry or lose guardianship of her niece to an odious lord. She sets out for Scotland to find her childhood friend (and sort-of betrothed), now a duke. But instead, she meets a grumpy Scotsman who looks exactly like him. Twin brother! With whom she has an immediate argument! When she learns that her intended is no longer available to marry her, partly because of his brother's machinations, she demands that that brother marry her instead.
Logan is not officially the laird of his clan, but he has spent his entire life fighting to protect his people from poverty, while his twin brother was raised in luxury in England. The last thing he wants is a delicate English bride, even though Juliana is beautiful and spirited. And tempting.
I enjoyed this novel, although I felt like I was missing at least a novella in between this and the previous book. If Anna Bradley hasn't written the duke's story, she needs to!
To Wed a Wild Scot had romance, humor, and heart.
I have enjoyed reading Anna Bradley since Lady’s Eleanor’s Seventh Suitor.
Lady Juliana Bernard and Logan Blair were delightful characters. Logan’s love for his land and clan made him a great romantic hero.
I appreciated the author’s notes describing the devastating history of the Highland Clearances. A reader can learn so much history through reading well researched historical fiction.
Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Publishers for the ARC
The Highland Clearances as a background seems to be trending in current historical romance novels. This is the fifth I've read in the past year. In this case it serves as the impetus for the hero Logan to behave as he does, intercepting letters, for the well-being of his clansmen.
Lady Juliana's goal in the story is to secure a marriage and thus the guardianship of her late brother's daughter, Grace. If she does not succeed, her father has named an unrelated (nasty) male rather than Grace's perfectly appropriate maternal uncle as guardian. (What?) The old man may be ill and confused, but still.
At times Juliana is bold, at others quite insecure, worrying and fretting over her relationship with Logan. After the pair spend a well-chaperoned night in a tenant's home, Logan's brother Fitz pressures Logan "to do the right thing" to protect her reputation; struck me as rather hypocritical as Fitz's betrothed is pregnant and they seem not to be in a rush to wed.
Gaelic terms of endearment are liberally distributed throughout the story. In the epilogue their meanings are playfully revealed, as well as in a glossary at the end.
I received an ARC from the publisher via netgalley; the thoughts expressed are my own.
2.5 stars rounded up because the author is one of my favorites and knows how to write. I just did not enjoy this particular story, and I fear I will be in the minority with that.
I think most people will like the book for the spirited heroine, but I didn't enjoy for exactly that reason. There is also a lot of relationship drama and angst, both of which I just hate. I get that both characters are scared, but the amount of misunderstandings and constant jumping to conclusions on both sides made it hard for me to invest in such an unstable relationship. Yes, it starts under the worst circumstances, but I was hoping there would be a lot more open communication. They did talk after one of them started jumping to conclusions, which is the only reason I kept reading. But really, up until the very last page insecurity and jealousy got in the way of those two trusting each other and being happy, and it annoyed me. But again, that is a very personal pet peeve of mine.
I did love the setting (it felt like a lot of research went into the background, especially the Highland Clearances) and the hero's love for his clan and his land was admirable and made me like him instantly. He's a wonderful guy who fights for his people, and who could resist that.
But the heroine constantly jumping to the worst conclusions (yes, I get it, two guys who were engaged to her fell in love with other people) made it hard for me to sympathize with her (which is a personal flaw and I bet everyone but me will love her).
So if you don't mind a dose of angst in your romance and like your characters a bit flawed, you will probably enjoy this more than I did.
I do love Anna Bradley's writing, and my rating is simply based on the usage of tropes I really dislike.
A Scottish romance with a great male character. Bradley's romance was full of great description, making this a can't put down book. I am looking forward to more from Anna Bradley.

A dying father, a betrothed in Scotland and the desperation to obtain guardianship of her niece keeps one determined English lady on course to Scotland. Only things don't go according to her plan. It will take her betrothal's twin brother to save the day, if only he'll cooperate. Very, very entertaining, laugh out loud, 5 Stars book!!!
Logan is a stubborn loyal Scotsman whom, due to guilt, weds himself to Juliana an English heiress. The author clearly portrays the different worlds these two characters come from and how they overcome their differences for love. I received an ARC for my honest review.

I think this might be my favourite Anna Bradley book yet! I loved all the characters, I loved the interaction between them and, most of all, I loved the writing. I honestly can't think what to say about it because I'm still in post-book heaven. If you haven't read Anna Bradley before then this is definitely the place to start! 4.5 stars!
