This was a pretty good mystery novel, I actual read these out of order but I still really enjoyed reading it. I look forward to more in the series as I'm hooked.
I love her books and this was no exception if your interested in Russian history and the war. The characters were interesting enough and the story. Description she is very good at doing. It's a time in history if your interested in the Crimea War and the Tsar. You see the fighting the families broken up cause of this war, death is at the doorstep.I enjoyed the book and didn't cause in some places it was hard for me to read. That's just me but the time spent to make sure the history was correct. It is a must read if your into this type of time in history!!
I received this from Netgalley.com for a review.
Second in trilogy, Andrey is about to enter his final year of medical studies in his quest to become a doctor. Tsar Nicholas begins recruiting medical students to serve in the war.
If you're interested in 1850's Russia during the Crimean War, this one is for you. Heavy on the history lesson with a side story of deprivations of war and how the people lived and coped without basic necessities. I thought the first book was more interesting and was disappointed there was no continuity from one book to the other.
