This was a sweet, very light on the physical relationship, romance that will appeal to readers of closed door romances. I loved that Angie was Puerto Rican and how large a role her Puerto Rican family and culture was to the story. I also felt that the fact that Sam was her boss was handled well and there was an point in making her an equal partner in the business. I am a sucker for a good Christmas romance and I feel like this fits the bill well. The secondary romances were very secondary and it was the only thing that was lacking in this story. I enjoy reading secondary romances just as much and I wish there had been more emphasis on them, but overall, this was a great story.
An Unforgettable Christmas is a sweet Christmas story. You'll enjoy seeing how a mistletoe wreath works love magic. The characters will charm you. The season gives goodwill and help to all.
If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, An Unforgettable Christmas is perfect for you. Treat yourself to this heartwarming, sweet read!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
First I would like to thank NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
An Unforgettable Christmas follows exactly what you would expect from a Hallmark story. Reading this story makes you feel like you’re sitting in front of a warm fire on a snowy day with a hot cup of coffee and a blanket. It’s warm, inviting, and brings the reader a little bit of hope and magic. You get all the classic, lovable, and honestly addicting, cliches that you expect with Hallmark. I fully believe that any Hallmark, or general holiday romance fans, will enjoy this book. I give it a full 5 stars and I will now be anxiously waiting until it is socially acceptable to put up my Christmas tree and blast holiday music.
The story follows Sam Singleton, the owner of Singleton’s Jewelers, and Angie, his most respected employer. After Sam falls and suffers amnesia, Angie willingly takes him in and cares for him. Romance blossoms, past, present, and future information is discovered, rediscovered, and processed, and everything they knew changes.
One thing that I did find a tad odd was how 180° Sam’s personality turned after he lost his memory. Instead of simply needing to work on memory jogging, he became almost an entirely different person. The romance one would expect from a Hallmark story began sooner than I thought it would but then slowed down comfortably and grew forward. The ending was perfect and the pace was comfortable, not too fast but not dragging along either.
At times the language was a bit too cheesy, even for Hallmark, but it was not bad enough to interfere with my reading enjoyment.
One of the things I love about Hallmark is how they repeat a lot of actors and character names. While only a few names were ones I’ve seen before, the use of them made me feel like I’ve always known the people and I was simply returning to a favorite Christmas romance.
Oh, boy. I am so ready for Christmas after reading this book. I could say that it is basically the pinnacle of Christmas books - given the setting as well as the publisher (I mean, Hallmark - basically Christmas central on the telly right?), but I do think that might be unfair to the many, many other Christmas novels out there.
This was an adorably sweet, heartfelt and of course, Christmassy novel. It tells the tale of Angie - a widowed single mother (with an adorable son Pepe, mum and grandmother all living in the same apartment) and Sam - her boss at the jewellery store where she works. After Sam slips and hits his head, he experiences a form of amnesia, and can't remember the last 20 or so years! And so, Angie has to take care of him until he recuperates his memories. And yes, it does sound very cheesy - but who ever said that that was a bad thing?
Characterisation:
One of my favourite things to read, is stories where a character truly does begin to grow and change - no matter their age. And in this, Sam does. Prior to the fall, Sam was a workaholic with less than perfect relationships with lots of people - Angie, his friends, as well as his dad. Over the course of the time where he's without his memories, all of this begins to change. He rebuilds these relationships, and even after he <spoiler> gets his memories back (although is that much of a spoiler, really?)</spoiler> he maintains these relationships.
Angie was a fantastic female protagonist. Strong, determined, whip smart, just a lovely human, and a perfect match for Sam.
Storyline and Writing:
Although the plot is fairly cheesy/cliche, it still hit the mark. The plot moved at a satisfactory pace, not too fast and not too slow. I did note however, a few points where I felt that the writing was a little bit stilted or too cliche, but these really didn't have any effect on my enjoyment of the novel.
Overall:
A sweet, warm and enjoyable novel, perfect for when you want to get into the Christmassy spirit. Bring on December!
Note: I was very generously gifted an ARC of this novel from the author and publisher via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Lovely feel good read. It was well written and flowed well. I enjoyed it very much. The plot was good and interesting. Hard to put down
An Unforgettable Christmas takes place in the charming city of Hopedale, where it is Christmas all year long. Angie works for Sam in his jewelry store Singleton’s. Sam is a bit of a stickler for perfection and professionalism, except when it comes to an odd picture hung in the store. As Angie decorates, she moves the picture, hoping to get rid of it after Christmas. Angie seems to be the only logical person who can care for Sam following the accident causing his amnesia, especially since he was running to catch her.
Handsome, but professional Sam seems to become a different person while not being able to remember his life. He is kinder and more caring. This is the man with whom Angie falls in love and him with her. Once his memory returns, things appear to go back to normal. Angie even realizes the picture has a special meaning to Sam.
Although a bit agonizing for both Sam and Angie, their HEA still comes in a sweet, endearing way.
Ginny Baird gives us a great Christmas read with this book! I love Christmas books and this one is no exception. You will feel the magic of the Christmas season while reading this one and get lost in the story and never want it to end. This is definitely and unforgettable read!
Angie is working at a jewelry store to make ends meet while her and her mom are saving up to buy their own place. Angie lost her husband not too much before we meet her and has her son Pepe to raise. All of the characters in this book are very likeable and you feel like you are part of their family as you read the book! Sam is Angie's employer at the jewelry store and has been so focused on making things great at the store that he often forgets to enjoy the small things that are right in front of him. Angie and Sam are somewhat opposites but Angie works hard for Sam.
When Sam has an accident and looses his memory, he needs someone to take care of him until he recovers all his memory. Angie being the kind person that she is takes on the role of being Sam's caretaker. The memories that Sam and Angie make are unforgettable and heartwarming. Sam and Pepe get along so well and are so neat to read about. Since Sam is still getting his memory back, will he have different feelings once he recovers from his accident or will he still feel the same and cherish the memories that he, Angie and Pepe have made? You have to read this one to find out. Such a great heartwarming read that you will not want to put down!
I read and reviewed this book voluntarily and all opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an advanced copy of this book!
This enjoyable Christmas story sparkles all the way through the book. I loved the characters of Angie, Pepe, and Lita. But Sam’s character is the heart of this story. His struggle to regain his memory, but also move from bitterness to happiness, makes for a heart-touching story. This is a perfect book to read during the Christmas season as it’s full of the joy of Christmas and a perfect length to read during a busy holiday season. This book is clean and sweet. There are several “interrupted kiss” scenes that will make you smile and hope that this one becomes a Hallmark movie very soon.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
An Unforgettable Christmas is a very well written romance. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. Love Christmas books and this one was great. Thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
This is a charming and feel-good Christmas-themed novel with real characters and I especially loved Angie's family. The plot itself was perhaps a tad bit predictable, but sometimes one needs a light read.
Thoroughly enjoyable, An Unforgettable Christmas has real, relatable characters and an interesting storyline. I found myself swept up in the lives of Angie and Pepe. Angie's mother and grandmother both made me laugh with their quiet, little comments. This is definitely a feel good, happily-ever-after read!
Ginny Baird brings us the sweet romantic story of Angie and Sam. Angie is a single parent working as an accountant for Sam at jewelry store in Hopedale, Virginia. While Angie tries to bring Christmas cheer in the store with decorations and improvements to his store, Sam is focused on improving his sales numbers. As Sam tries to catch up with Angie after leaving the store and forgetting her purse, he slips and falls in the icy parking area hitting his head and passed out cold.
When Sam wakes up at the hospital, the hospital staff and Sam realize that he lost most of his memories and that he should not be alone while recuperating. Reluctantly, Angie brings him home with her and he meets the rest of her family: her son Pepe, her mother Elena, and her grandmother Alma. While Angie and her family take care of Sam, he starts getting bits and pieces of his memory back by visiting the people and places that should be familiar. Angie starts seeing a new Sam whose life is not dominated by his store and making money and having no friends. But will all his memories return? If they do, will he revert back to the man he was or allow the new man to stay? Can these two people find a way to create a new future with each other or will the past get in their way?
It was nice seeing the way Sam and Angie interacted with each other as well as the relationships between Sam and her family. Sam started becoming a person who was not burdened by life and the past, but could be carefree. Ginny Baird showed us how life can give you a second chance and what happens when you take it.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this privilege.

Awesome book. I absolutely love all Christmas books and this one was absolutely wonderful. I love the characters and the story line. If you haven’t read this book yet I suggest you do
First off, as a Boricua, I love love love that this story incorporates Puerto Rican culture! It's a sweet, clean romance about a guy who temporarily loses his memory and the woman who helps him to recover it while showing him how he could live a more fulfilling life. Holiday traditions from the island are incorporated throughout the story...and it made me yummy for platanos and arroz con pollo! (recipes in the back)
An Unforgettable Christmas by Ginny Baird is a perfect, sweet, romantic, fuzzy Christmas story about two different people finding themselves again, and finding each other.
I have to say upfront that I love Hallmark Christmas movies, so I am so excited to read their novel counterparts!
Angelita (Angie) Lopez is the accountant at Sam Singleton’s jewelry store.
Both have had painful moments in their life that have left them both altered and guarded. Angie continues to be the optimist in trying to succeed and prosper in her new job, while also being a good Mom and provide for her Son Pepe, her Mom, and her “Lita” (grandmother). Sam ends up finding out that work shouldn’t be the only thing in life through an accident that causes a head injury that affects his memory.
Is this the fresh start Sam was needing?
Will the pair find in each other what they themselves have been missing all along?
This is just perfect for a Hallmark Christmas movie, and while the reader can figure out how this will end, that doesn’t mean that we won’t enjoy the ride.
5/5 stars
Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this delightful ARC and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
