Finally! I can properly review this book.
Yes, it took me a long time to really sit donw an write what i thought of this book.
After all of Cael Reapers have found their mates it's Eoghan team that needs to find their better half. I love how the story continues. There is this anticipation who will be the next Reaper that will find their own HEA.
This paring however, i was not expecting, but she is a welcome addition to the team.
I would like The New Dark King to have his own HEA thought. After Ulrik's story, I felt that he need to have the reason to just be alive. Rhi? I look forward to her book the same with Con. I am curious of who is her Dragon King, but she needs someone better. ~ that is what i think okay. No hard feelings to those who would love her to be back in the arms of her DK.
More power!
I love Donna Grant's books and look forward to each one! Maeve and Bradach's story was amazing. This book just sucks you in from the beginning. Can't wait for the next one. Although these books can be read as a standalone, you won't have a lot of the back story you need to understand some things that happen and why..
Bradach isn't thrilled about his new assignment. Maeve was raised to take over her father's business. He hates the dark Faye. She only trusts one person. Their attraction is undeniable. Maeve agrees to help, looking for a new adventure. Bradach tries not to be attracted to her. Can they find a missing friend before its too late? What happens when passion flares and ignites? Will their attraction reveal their secrets? Can they be the Dark Alpha's Redemption?
Bradach is good at his job as a Reaper. He's sent to find a missing ally of death. He's not thrilled to have to be working with the Dark Faye. Maeve is bored and wants a new challenge. She's been fighting to stay on top of the business that others want to take away from her no matter if its killing or marrying her. Bradach must go to the dark Faye king to be introduced to the one person who can help, Maeve. She agrees to help but isn't convinced about the her friend the queen of the Faye actually being dark. She's convinced and helps Bradach with his mission. Maeve remembers a place that the light Faye queen might have went and they check it out. They find her there and Bradach goes in to take a look around. A quick meeting with some of the other Reapers has them realizing that it's probably a trap. They decide to wait and go to the Dragon Kings for help only to find out that their King of Kings has been kidnapped by the queen. An alliance is formed. The queen meets with her allies from another world about what she wants to happen and tells them that no matter what things are going to be done her way. Bradach and Maeve head back and he leaves her at her house. A bad feeling he can't shake has him going to Maeve's house. Bradach finds no one around and heads to Maeve's room and finds her over a dead enemy body. It's figured all the people at her house have been killed in retaliation for Maeve helping him. They figure that they'll go to the light Faye castle to start on the next next step in their plan. They have a passionate night together and spread their rumors about the queen. Maeve gets a warning to leave the castle. Bradach catches up only to find his fellow Reapers keeping him from Maeve while she must fight her best friend and others from her house. She keeps wanting to know the truth about Bradach only he's trying to protect her because knowing will kill her. Finally, he tells her about the Reapers. Maeve gets angry but soon realizes that her emotions had nothing to do with her feelings for Bradach. She receives a visitor, who wants to make sure Maeve feelings for Bradach are real and lasting. A trip to another realm brings Maeve and Bradach back together.
Donna Grant's Reaper series continues with the Dark Alpha's Redemption. It's the story of Bradach and Maeve and how falling in love redeems them. Bradach must face the guilt about his brother. Maeve has to confront the person she thought that she was able to trust. The story takes turns and surprises the reader with its plot twists and unresolved ending. Your kept wondering who the people are the who are in alliance with the Light queen Faye. What happened to their Reaper's missing friend and the Dragon King of Kings. I'm looking forward the the next Reaper book to find out more about who the allies are and which one of the Reapers is nest to find true love.
I always enjoy books by Donna Grant and this one is no exception. I am more familiar with her Dark Kings series, so jumping into the Reaper series was a little confusing at first. I will go back now and read some of the earlier books because she has me hooked!
ARC provided to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks to the publisher for an arc to read and give my honest opinion!
Well I fudged this one:( I read this authors current two releases out of order. Bouncing between Dragon Kings and Reapers I accidentally read Fever before Redemption so it killed this book. Or should I just say I spoiled it for my self.
Still it was still an incredible read just be sure to not make the same mistake I did. Just loved Mauve the merciless in this one as she teams up with Bradach to try to find Xanath.
What did I like? The story line was so vivid in this one as we find out Usaeil is next in line to earn her comeuppance. She’s been turning fae into trackers and building an army but her ego needs to go. In this book it’s all about who wants in when the stuff finally hits the fan.
Would I buy this book? Yup yup yup, this is one heck of a series for paranormal readers and it’s s good one. Several of her series intertwine so make sure you check out reading order.
Thoughts for the author! Loved it, can’t get enough
Ms. Grant has done it again, another hit with the Reapers. This is Bradach and Maeve's story. I found Maeve to be witty and cunning and totally a bad-ass..This was a rather short read but filled with action packed scenes and hot sex. I truly enjoyed this one and all the past characters mentioned made for a great read. Looking forward to the next one!

These Reapers books are quick fast reads that hold us over till we can get to the next Dark King story. They add a little side story to an already full world. I consider them stepping stones as such. You could skip them, but you’d miss out one this entire batch of fun characters.
In order to become a reaper, they all were killed unjustly. Death has compassion and gives them the option of coming to work for her or staying dead. The story behind Bradach is why he dislikes the Dark and no longer trusts them. So when he meets Maeve, he immediately has his qualms about working with her. But he does what Death tells him to do.
This story was super fast, and almost a filler. So much happened, but yet they still don’t have the answers they need. Usaeil is still evil, but now they know how evil. They also know the way to kill her, but they’re still searching for Rhi to do the job. I will say it’s nice that after so many years alone, it’s nice to see the reapers finding love. I can see the light coming! We’re almost to the end of this world! Bittersweet, I know, but I can’t for everything to come together in an explosive end.
Dark Alpha’s Redemption is a solid addition to the reaper’s series. Bradach, a light fae known for his attention to details, is given a task to journey to the Dark Fae castle to search out answers as to where Usaeil and Xanath are. This task isn’t an easy one due his hatred of the dark fae (not without reason as we find out later). Maeve, a very successful business woman, is a dark fae and has no time for anything outside of keeping her business going. Many have tried to take it from her and she’s relied on no one as she fought to keep what’s hers. This has caused her to distance herself from others. The attraction is instant but unwanted between these two. However, journeying together allows them to see there is more to both than meets the eye.
This was a decent installment to the series, however, nothing really happens with the larger picture. I do love how Grant can write some kick ass heroines that don’t need a man to save them.
I received this complementary copy from SMP in exchange for my honest review.
Another great story from the series. I loved it. Maeve and Bradach story is great to read. Dark and Light fall in love. It hard especially for Bradach but he still wants to protect their love. Maeve is great, I love a strong independent woman and she is that and more, she is also kind and knows the difference between right and wrong. And that she hurt U-b.... I f... loved it. A lot of things was discovered and the end will be epic. Great enjoyable read!
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
It was bound to happen - we are working our way through the Reaper ranks to pair them off with unlikely matches. This particular Reaper I didn't really remember, but that doesn't make much difference. Being such a cagey bunch, we don't know much until their stories anyway.
Bradach is a Reaper who has a huge issue with dark fae. He is, obviously, tasked with working with a dark fae for Death, in one of her infinitely wise decisions. Maeve is anything but your typical dark fae, so when these two are thrown into dangerous situations, sparks fly between them. Two loners plus battle equals sexy times. Simple math! The overall storyline, hunting Usaeil, is nudged along with the actions here. If you aren't familiar with all the players, the story, the dragon kings, etc., you should roll back to the beginning (or at least a few books).
There are a lot of loose ends still out there at the conclusion of this book. No, we don't hurt for a HEA - that's definitely delivered. Instead, a lot of key players are still MIA. I'm hoping a resolution shows up quickly, because it hurts watching the bad guys escape all the time. Sure, I could read a bunch of these Reaper tales, watching them pair off, but I want to see some bad guys get wiped out!
I really enjoyed the cover to this one. I didn't even see the cover until I was half way through the book. This cover matched the story well and tied into the previous titles as well. This one opened with a story that felt like it was already going. However, even though this is a book 8 from the reaper series I didn't feel lost going into this one. The wiring style to this one was good, it flowed and I was never frustrated or lost. I didn't feel confused at all in this 256 page story. It was nice to have a story starting out unlike some other titles where three pages in and characters are already going at it. So that was a nice chance of pace.
The characters in this one were great, overall each character worked well in the story and no one felt out of place. The main two characters Maeve and Bradach were wonderful. I the mention that was between them because they would look at each other all swoony I wanna ravage you. But then their minds would get in the way and they would be like nope its against the rules. Bradach, was the reaper in this one. And he was so conserved about why he was drawn to Maeve but then he learned why and I was overjoyed that he finally found out her secret. As for Maeve, she's a Dark Fay in this one, I really liked her and how tough she was. She kicked some major butt and I loved her.
My favorite character is Maeve, she met death and she want afraid at all. She was such a great character, who empowers women to be kick butt.
The storyline/plot about killed me when I got to the last page. Their story wraps up but this one leaves everything else open as the war is just beginning. I am typing this up screaming I need more now. I am sure you all can hear me across the way. The ending to this one really surprised me on how it ended.
Overall, I would have loved if this one would have been a minimum of 100 pages longer. I think the author did an amazing job bringing all the this titles elements and characters together. Even though I haven't read the first books of any of these series that this ties into I didnt feel lost at all. There were a few places where things come up from past titles but the author did a great job explaining it so you the reader wouldn't be lost.
Go Into This One Knowing: Overall POV, Light Sexual Content, Major Cliffhanger
This was the first book in the Reaper series that I read. Considering it's the 8th book in the series, I sometimes had a hard time figuring out what was going on. I also think there was some background information on Bradach. There was definitely some background about the Dark Fae I missed. Despite playing catch-up, I did enjoy this book once I forced myself to just push through a few chapters to figure out what the heck was going on.
I loved Bradach. He was loyal and strong and swoon-worthy. Maeve was a great female protagonist. She was strong and needed no one's help. Nope. Not even Bradach's. The betrayal she suffers is not exactly shocking but works well with the story.
I would definitely read more books in the series and may have to go back and read the entire series. Watch out TBR!
Action packed, emotionally thrilling, sexy and exciting adventure filled with danger, witty banter, intriguing charters, magic and heart pounding passion.... this Reapers Journey has it all! Really enjoyed this engaging story and look forward whatever comes next from this entertaining story teller.
Bradach & Maeve's story. Another solid paranormal romance, but there's not too much forward progression to the overall story arc. A little more to bring the Dragon Kings in but that's it.

This series overlaps with the Dragon Kings series from the author such that at this point you need to be reading both series concurrently to keep up with the story line and the action. This book featured a couple of new characters and a lot of neat background information but really read like a filler book in both series.
Maeve is a powerful dark fae. She runs the elite information network for the fae world which brings her to the attention of the reapers. Death has the power to locate any fae but she is unable to find any trace of her ally Xaneth. She assigns Bradach to the task of collaborating with Maeve to find the Queen of the Fae whom she suspects of holding Xaneth.
Bradach hates all dark fae, so he's not exactly pleased when his latest assignment takes him first to the dark court to solicit the help of the King of the dark and then to Maeve's super lavish annual party. But as he and Maeve start to work together he starts re-thinking his rigid stance and starts to color outside the lines.
While this is a reaper story it really felt like it focused on a lot of the background information necessary to move the Dragon King story line forward. Overall this was a quick read and left me wanting for a good meaty story. Perhaps the next one in the series!
WOW!! This Reapers book was awesome! So many new twists and turns, it also hinted at the character that just might be behind so many of the problems that have effected so many others. I loved Bradach's character and the way he carries himself. He's strong, resilient and very observant. Maeve is a fae who is definitely not what she seems. I loved getting to know her character and her back story. She's one of my favourite characters in this series! I cannot wait to see what happens next, with the Reapers, Dragon Kings and Fae! Thank you Ms Grant for another exciting adventure!!
If you love a strong hero, strong-willed kick-butt heroine, moments of tension, fear and drama along with a romance that will leave you more than glad you read the book, then DARK ALPHA'S REDEMPTION will fill the bill and more!

My duty to Death drives me forward. I've never once strayed from my path – not even when the future seemed uncertain. However, Maeve's intelligence, cunning and determination challenges me in ways I never imagined. Finding out what she knows is the key to learning how to conquer our enemy. The Dark Fae breathes new life into me unlike anything I've ever known. For Maeve, I will risk trusting the Dark. For her...I will battle darkness itself.
Considering Donna Grant is one of my favorite authors, I was pretty sure I was going to love this book. As always, it didn’t disappoint. I loved both Bradach and Maeve. I loved the main overall story as the series is winding up to a battle to take down Usaeil. I can’t wait for the next book!! I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Loved reading the engaging and enthralling eighth book in the Reaper series. Bradach's mission is to work with a dark fae, Maeve, to find where Usaeil has hidden Xaneth. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, full of action and suspense, and a must read love story.
I reviewed a copy of the book through NetGalley.

Dark Alpha's Redemption by Donna Grant is the eighth book in her Reapers Series and I have to say that having not read any of the previous books I was lost and had a hard time following the story. After you get beyond the first half of the book it does get better however it leaves the story open for the final battle with Usaeil. I give the book a solid 4 star because I really like Donna Grant but I should have read more of the previous books.
Maeve the merciless is one kick butt and take names heroine and even though she relates to being aligned to dark side she came across to me as more half light and half dark Fae. But she's looking for the same person, Xaneth and hope to rescue him from Usaeil. Can they rescue him from her and once Maeve and Bardach finally fall in love the sparks really fly.
Bardach works for Death and even though he may not agree with his leader Eoghan that Maeve could lead them to finding Xaneth. But first he has to convince her to use her "friendship" to get into Usaeil castle. I agree with a few off the other reviews nothing seems to be resolved other than both Bardach and Maeve falling in love and I felt that it was a cliff hanger leading to a huge battle.
