2.5 Stars for me. Honestly, this could've been a novella. I'm torn between being happy new installments in this saga come out so frequently, and thinking the author should take some time and flesh out a plan for the overall story. Once again the leads were cool, but the ongoing story and conflict need work. I am not quitting this series, but I still am really hoping for major improvements in the next installment.

Donna Grant’s DARK ALPHA'S REDEMPTION (Reaper #8) is a thrilling read. In this story, Reaper Bradach enlists the help of Dark Fae Maeve to help discover the location of his fellow Reaper, Xeneth, who had been kidnaped. Despite hating the Dark Fae, Bradach finds himself attracted to Maeve. This paranormal romance is suitable for adult readers.

I really enjoyed DARK ALPHA'S REDEMPTION. It was a creative and exciting novel. Donna Grant does a great job with both her storyline and character development. Both Bradach and Maeve are not what they seem. They both have secrets. They have incredible chemistry. I appreciated that they both discover things about themselves through the story.

DARK ALPHA'S REDEMPTION was skillfully written. It has interesting twists and unexpected outcomes. It is a praiseworthy addition to the Reaper series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION is the eighth instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary adult REAPERS paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is Reaper Bradach, and Dark Fae business woman Maeve the Merciless’ story line. The REAPERS is a spin off from Donna’s DARK KINGS series which is a spinoff from Donna’s DARK WARRIOR series which in turn is a spin off from Donna’s DARK SWORD series- all set in the Highlands of Scotland. You do not have to have read any of the previous series to understand the premise but many of the events overlap with the events of the Dark Kings. DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion. DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION unites the Dragon Kings in their search

SOME BACKGROUND: The Reapers (believed to be a folk lore amongst the Fae) are a group of Dark and Light Fae, selected by Death (aka Erith), on their own deathbed, to do her bidding-Death is the judge and jury; the Reapers are the executioners. The Reapers are not harbingers of death, but are tasked with destroying the Light and Dark Fae who have crossed a line from which there is no return. All Reapers must follow two rules: never to fall in love; and never to reveal their existence to anyone. If you have read Donna’s DARK KINGS series you will recognize the familiarity between the two series as both follow a similar plot and premise including betrayal by one of their own.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Bradach and Maeve) DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION follows Reaper Bradach as he is tasked with locating the only surviving descendant of the Light Fae Queen Usaeil. Missing and presumed imprisoned, Xaneth’s whereabouts are unknown. The Reapers are desperate so they send in Bradach to search for the Fae but Bradach needs help in locating Xaneth and looks to an unlikely friend for help. Enter Maeve, a Dark Fae who may or may not know the last known location of the Light Fae Queen. With the help of the Dark Kings, who themselves are searching for one of their own, Maeve and Bradach go in search for Xaneth only to come face to face with a creature created to destroy them all.

Maeve the Merciless keeps secret her past, a past that has forced our heroine to use glamor whenever she is in the open or public. With the recommendation of Balladyn, the King of the Dark, Bradach employs Maeve in his search for the missing Fae, a search that will push Maeve and Bradach together towards their own happily ever after.

DARK ALPHA’S REDEMPTION is another revealing and intriguing instalment as the author continues to build towards the denouement of several interconnected series including the Dark Kings, the Reapers, Dark Sword and the Dark Warriors. We learn how Bradach came to be a Reaper-the betrayal and heart break; the circumstances surrounding the decision to keep the Light Fae Queen alive, and Usaeil’s spiral out of control as she ascends into a madness for power and control.

This story is awesome! This series is amazing! I enjoyed these two, she was no nonsense and they blended together beautifully. I can feel the series coming to an awesome ending and can’t wait, I have so many questions and I’m anxious to find out how it all ends!!!

This is the 8th book in this fabulous series. Bradach is tasked with getting to know Maeve the Merciless in order to help find Xaneth. Maeve is a dark fae and hiding lots of secrets. Bradach has some secrets of his own. The attraction between them is steamy but can they be together with so many secrets between them? Fast-paced read with steamy chemistry and plenty of drama and suspense. The world building is amazing in this series and I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

Dark Alpha’s Redemption was an exciting story. I felt that it was more of a filler book in the series — the calm before the storm (ie, the final battle) book. I didn’t mind that at all.

Dark Alpha’s Redemption focused on Bradach and Maeve’s relationship. It was a romance that I didn’t see coming. If the author had told me, a few books back, that they were going to get together, I would have laughed — not those two. So, yes, I was surprised when I saw that it was Bradach and Maeve.

Maeve and Bradach had some intense sex scenes. I liked that the author chose to build up their sexual attraction. I also loved where they first had sex. It was almost like a vast EFF You to Usaeil. The sex scenes themselves were steaming hot. I was expecting my Kindle to short circuit, that is how hot they are.

I loved that the Dragon Kings were included and they were still searching for Conn. I was waiting for Rhi to show up. I was expecting her to make an appearance. Where was she and what was she doing?

The storyline with Xaneth was heartbreaking. I hope that someone finds him. Because I have a feeling that Usaeil is going to injure or kill him.

I want to know how the Trackers are made!!! I was fascinated by them. The end of the book hinted that the Reapers were going to look into it.

Dark Alpha’s Redemption did have a typical romance HEA. But, before that could happen, I thought that Death’s interrogation of Maeve was perfect. I already can’t wait for the next book!!

I just can't not love these books, even when they keep me in complete and utter suspense for ages over a certain relationship, haha. Dark Alpha's Redemption, just like all the other books in the Reaper's series picks up right where the previous book leaves off. With that in mind it is really important that you read these books from the first one to the most current, otherwise you would be quite lost. I think it is also important to note right from the get go that it would not hurt at all to start with the Dark Kings series before diving into this one as they are quite interconnected. Honestly, Donna has been building this world since Dark Sword so if you really want to have the full effect, going all the way back to the beginning would not be remiss, though it isn't wholly necessary.

Usaeil is up to her old tricks, thinking that she runs the world and taking what doesn't belong to her. This time two friends of the Reapers and Death, and they want them back. The war is finally beginning to really heat up and this book is the perfect set-up for everything to come in the future. For those that have been reading this series from the beginning we all know that there is one person in this world that deserves to take Usaeil on and end her scheming and tyranny, but time is running out and nerves on all sides are beginning to become frayed. One thing that I loved about this book was the repeated question about why the Reapers don't just take care of Usaeil, because I think for us readers it is the same question we keep asking over and over even though we know the answer. I think Donna having others asking this of the Reapers is a way for her to say 'I hear you and it's coming, be patient because I have a plan!'

I also throughly enjoyed the banter and relationship between Bradach and Maeve. Seeing Bradach and Maeve in her own way, have to overcome his prejudices against the Dark/Light and to realize that it's not all 'black and white' was a wonderful aspect of this story and a reminder that there are no easy answers, sometimes one just has to follow their heart! I loved both of these characters, especially Maeve, she was just plan kick butt awesome! I loved how she clearly could take care of herself, wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done, but also has one of the biggest hearts out of any of the characters in this series in my opinion. She truly just wants what is right for everyone, regardless of where they came from. Bradach was just a great character to for his development, I felt like he was a bit overshadowed by Maeve and the on-going fight, but he still makes an impact for learning to open his mind and heart through his journey.

We still don't know, or in my opinion, can even guess, how this is all going to end and while I do think we've moved a little closer to that conclusion, I don't know that we are anywhere near the end and that has it's ups and downs. I love that suspense and I love getting more books each time, but we have been on this journey for a really long time now and while I really don't want it to end because that would mean we were done, I also just want to know all the answers to my many questions, ha.

If you have been reading the series for a while, you definitely want to get this one in, just to see what's up with Usaeil, but don't expect any real answers to what's coming. We moved one small step forward with this book but we did get a lovely new character out of it and a nice little romance! If you are new to the series, stop! Don't start here, go back to book one so you get all the details, this is a long journey but I know one that will be worth it in the end!

~ HAPPY READING ~

Dark Alpha’s Redemption is Donna Grant at her best! This is easily one of my favorite series and this is a perfect example of why. I can’t wait for more!

What the Fek? This was a lot shorter than I had expected, so when I breeze through the ARC, the fantasy novel was over before I knew it. To sum it up there was action, romance and great characters that had me turning the pages without missing a beat. Let's not forget to mention that "Dark Alpha's Redemption" didn't outbeat the previous installment but I still had an overall enjoyable reading experience and the author was able to surprised me with a twist I wasn't expecting which I wished she would have further explored. Moreso the romance between Maeve and Bradach love was instant and there just wasn't enough built up leading to the whirlwind romance and despite that, Donna Grant made that up with the other great elements that brought this story together. Overall decent read and I can't wait for the next one.

Bradach has never once strayed from his path, his duty as an elite assassin to Death driving him forward. However, Maeve’s intelligence, cunning and determination challenges him in ways that he never imagined. While finding out what she knows is key to learning how to conquer their enemy, the Dark Fae is unlike anything he’s ever known and he will risk trusting the dark. For her…he battle darkness itself.

The newest book in the ‘Reaper’ series is an emotionally gripping and stunningly exciting one that has pushing reality to the side and remaining in this fascinating world. As usual, the characters are strong, bold and stand out, grabbing readers’ attention from the get go and the romance between Bradach and Maeve is full of angst, passion, sizzling chemistry and sweet romance. The emotional turmoil throughout the relationship revolves around them having trust each other, let go hatreds from the past and listening to what their hearts have already told them and readers can certainly understand where they are coming from and why they feel the way they do.

The plot is fast paced and full of nail biting suspense and adrenaline pumping excitement as Bradach and Maeve try to discover some Usaeil’s secrets in order to rescue an Xaneth who is the Reaper’s ally and Con, the King of the Dragon Kings. During their search they also discover more about Usaeil’s trackers and they set out to discredit her among her own people to prepare for war, this adds additional thrills and excitement to the story and readers really can’t help but enjoy this stunning, heart pounding addition to the series that challenges a Reaper’s heart.

I was not familiar with the Reapers series so, it was a whole new world to learn. Maeve is fascinating, strong, intelligent character and Bradach recognizes that right away. She is more than what she appears and requires someone who is able to see beyond their prejudices. There is plenty of action and intrigue. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is Book 8 in the Reapers series. Bradach is a Reaper who used to be Light Fae. He hates the Dark Fae and he is sent on a mission among them. When he goes to a get together and sees Maeve, he is attracted to her. She’s Dark Fae so he’s not a happy camper. There is so much happening in this story that makes you realize how strong Bradach really is. He overcomes so much from his past that you will be amazed with him. There’s something for everyone in this book and it’s full of action and intrigue so you stay interested in it from the first page until the last page. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley.

I recently discovered this series and I'm loving every instalment.
The character development, the amazing world building and the engrossing plot made love this book as much as I loved the previous instalment.
I think that Ms Grant can surely write a book that will keep you hooked and I look forward to reading her next work.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Combine a quest, a Reaper and a Dark Fae for this tale of adventure and romance . This author pens a good tale in this Reaper series book 8.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Maeve is an interesting character. She has a reputation that scares many, but she isn’t what she seems. Bradach doesn’t really want to work with her due to his hatred of the Dark Fae, but he quickly realizes there is more to her than he though and his feelings for her grow.

Overall a good story, however there were times I felt like the story jumped around with not enough explain action.

As soon as my copy came in my Kindle I just had to put whatever I was currently reading down and read this book right away even though it wouldn't be published for quite some time.

First off I have to tell you that this is book 8 in the Reapers series and yes you do have to read all previous books.

I have LOVED all previous books in this series and I am happy to say that I absolutely love this book as well. The story is so darn good and exciting. I just couldn't put this book down.

I do recommend this one.

I give this 5 out of 5 stars.

As with any and all books that Donna Grant pens, this book is extraordinary.
Bradach is a bada$$ character with betrayal his past and hate in his heart for the Dark Fae. He meets his match with Mauve. She knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it. She has come to be one of my favorite characters, behind Rhi of course.
We get a glimpse of a new character that rival the creepiness that rival the wyrran as well as quite a few Dragon Kings.
This story is magical, exciting and definitely page turning. I can’t wait for the next one!
I received this book for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Bradach is a Reaper and works for Death. He ends up meeting Maeve and falls for her. Meanwhile they are fighting Usaeil and her Trackers. I have read a few novellas in this series and someday hoping to read the whole series. I really like Maeve and how she can kick butt. Bradach is a guy that has never had these types of feelings before and wants to protect Maeve but then he doesn't really have to. He tries to keep the secret that he is a Reaper from her and she knows that he has a secret he can't tell and she thinks maybe she doesn't want to know after all.
I will continue to read this series.
I received this from St. Martin's and NetGalley for an honest review

Bradach is a Reaper who hates rhe Dark Fae. So when he is sent on a mission to find a Dark Fae named Maeve the Merciless, he is decidedly not thrilled. After meeting her, it doesn't take long for his attitude to start to change. Could Maeve actually be more than a means to an end?
I loved Bradach and Maeve. They both deserved all the love and happiness they could have together.

I love the Reapers series by Donna Grant. The characters are interesting and engaging. The stories are fast-paced, exciting, and keep me flipping pages as fast as I can. Each book moves the reader along to the ultimate showdown (and the revealing of Rhi's King). I can't wait for the next book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or remuneration.

In a world where we think we are aware of everything around us, we have no idea. Book 7 in Donna Grant's Reaper series, did not disappoint. Not everyone is as they seem. Maeve, a dark fae lives a solitary, protected life. Protected, because she trusts no one. Because in her world, opening yourself up means death. Bradach is a solitary Reaper who trusts no one due to the deceit in his former life. The last thing he wants is to team up with a dark. But when they do in a quest to find the light queen, they get more than they bargained for, there are fireworks. Both are taught to not judge a book by its cover.

Though it could be read as a stand alone, there is a lot of storyline in the first 6 books that help you understand where the characters are, and why the characters are. I love that in each novel, the spirit is kept alive. Along with the previous books, the plot line doesn't dwindle, the characters are energetic and well developed. I can't wait to see what happens next.
