In Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane, Ellen Berry weaves a touching story of family and dreams, of losses and second chances.

We meet Lucy, who, having been laid off from her city job, decides to take a leap of faith and move her family to the quaint village of Burley Bridge and make her childhood dream of transforming Rosemary Cottage into a B&B come true.

What follows is a touching, poignant story about coming to terms with past losses, of forging relationships and rediscovering forgotten dreams. The delightful cast of characters that Ellen Berry introduces are vivid and multi-faceted, adding an extra layer of depth and authenticity to the story.

The rich wintery atmosphere is brought to life through the gentle English countryside, crackling fires and tinkling snowdrops on Rosemary Lane.

This is a heart-warming book that is sure to leave you feeling festive. If you're a fan of Trisha Ashley or Carole Matthews, this is the perfect read for you. Highly recommended!

It was very festive and sugary sweet.
I enjoyed how things and places were described, but the characters were...boring and felt.. just flat? I don`t know ...they were just incredible boring and i could not care less about them.

2.5 stars.

I love book series, not only do you get to read about the characters more but you start to root for them and want them to be happy. Lucy is such a likable character and you can tell from the start how much she wants to provide a good life for her children. From the start I couldn't help but picture the cottage from the film - The Holiday when reading about Rosemary Cottage. When James enters her life, I couldn't help but get excited for Lucy as she had worked so hard to get the B&B running and wanted her to get the happily ever after she deserved after the hard time she has had. Perfect for the winter\Christmas season to read in front of a fire or to snow falling outside of you are lucky!

Lucy has childhood memories from this house on Rosemary Lane. Fast forward a few decades and she is a grown woman just being sacked. She convinces her husband that they can buy this cottage and run it as a Bed and Breakfast while he continues his job. Fast forward a bit and her husband has tragically passed away. She is dealing with the grief and trying to keep her two kids going. Her parents (or at least Mom) isn't very supportive and she is trying to decide if she can continue with her dream or just sell out. She runs back into her childhood friend, James, who is also dealing with his own family issues. His dad is dealing with some dementia issues and he has to drop everything and take care of him....

I am a TOTALsucker for Christmas romance novels. This one wasn't the typical storyline. It had tragedy and challenges all around. BUT, I loved this one. I enjoyed seeing the growth of Lucy after her husband passed. I loved seeing how she gathers herself and becomes her own woman. This is a story of resilience and romance and I just loved it. I gave this one a 4 out of 5 stars.

Thanks to Netgalley and Avon Publishing for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I had expected this to be a cosy winter romance but I was wrong.
This book was too serious and the pace was so slow.
The story itself was ok but not what I was expecting

This was a roller coaster ride for the emotions. Right down to the last twist at the end. I was hooked. My heart hurt for Lucy, and heck even for James and his Dad also. So much sadness and healing.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane by Ellen Berry
****.3 4.3/5
A truly heart warming story that captures the heart. The characters are solid, believable, irritating, emotional and funny.
I read Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane out of sequence but it can easily be read as a stand-alone novel. Also read it in the summer but as it takes place over years and seasons it isn’t just a Christmas story. Any time you want to curl up with a mug of tea/glass of wine and be transported into another time and place, this is the novel for you.
Discover all the characters, love them, tut at them, laugh with them. A lovely plot and the ending, not what I expected, is uplifting.
Ellen Berry is talented and it shows in this novel. Recommended.
Thank you to Ellen Berry, HarperCollins and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful novel for which I have given an honest and unbiased review.

Lucy fell in love with Rosemary cottage and its great garden as a child and so when she gets made redundant and it is on the market it feels like fate........ what better place to bring up her children! A year later her husband has died in an accident and she is left on her own with the two children..... should she stay or go back to the city, her mother is certainly pushing for the latter! When she meets James one or her childhood friends he is a great help to her, he has his own problems with a senile father but meeting for coffees gives them both support..... but could he ever be more than that?

Great to be back with the characters from the previous books and this one is just as good.....I fell in love with cottage as well and would love to live there! Good characters and storyline to keep your interest, very enjoyable light read

‘Snowdrops On Rosemary Lane’ is the latest book by Ellen Berry.

Lucy fell in love with tumbledown Rosemary Cottage as a child. So thirty years on, when she loses her city job and discovers the cottage is for sale, it feels like fate. She’ll raise her children in Burley Bridge and transform the cottage into a B&B with her husband. But a year can change everything. Now Lucy is juggling two children and a B&B, but on her own. Christmas looks set to be their last on Rosemary Lane – until she meets James, a face from her past and someone who might offer a different kind of future/ Should Lucy leave the cottage behind? Or could this winter on Rosemary Lane be the start of something new?

Ellen Berry is back with a new instalment in the Rosemary Lane series. This time it takes shape in the new bed and breakfast in the village, newly opened by Lucy and her husband and their two children. Just as they’ve settled into their new lives, tragedy strikes and Lucy finds herself alone with two young children and a new bed and breakfast. As Lucy adapts to a new life, she finds an old school friend called James who’s also going through a bit of a difficult time with a temperamental father. Together the pair of them embark on a new friendship now as adults and Lucy has to decide whether she wants to continue life in Rosemary.

I’ve come to love Ellen Berry, whether she’s writing as herself which is Fiona Gibson or Ellen, her books are always heart-warming, funny and emotive stories that tug at the readers heartstrings. In her latest book, we meet Lucy a kind woman who’s looking forward to beginning a new life in Rosemary Lane with her little family, but as she’s dealt a cruel hand, we see how she recovers from it and carries on with life, through new friendships, young children as well as her creativity that makes a popular character in the small village.

An enjoyable story from the first page, ‘Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane’ is an engaging and captivating story. With relatable characters and situations, the book is sweetly written and cleverly crafted with humour and warmth to really pull the reader in and is perfect festive story to curl up with.

You can pre-order ‘Snowdrops On Rosemary Lane’ from Amazon and will be available to buy from good bookshops from 26th December 2019.

Really enjoyed this 3rd installment of the Rosemary Lane story. The main characters from the previous 2 books didn't feature heavily but a new family was introduced. The new family fitted into the village but there is tragedy when Lucy's husband it killed in a car accident. The story follows Lucy rebuilding her life with the help of her friends, old and new. A delightful series.

I thought this was going to be a cute and fun holiday book, but it was very sad and heavy. I wouldn't recommend to a lot of people during the holiday season. There was a lot of negative events that kept happening in the book, and I feel like it was a bit too unrealistic. I also felt like the book didn't have any real direction.

I was surprised by the story because it was not what I expected. It was a story of resiliency over a span of a few years. Lucy has been pushed down a few times but she returns to Rosemary Cottege. I expected the book to be a more uplifting Christmasy book based off the cover but the story is much deeper. I will definitely look up the rest of the books in this series.

Snowdrops on Rosemary Lane was a great read. I loved how Lucy was able to go back to and own the cottage she remembered from her childhood and although she had a few obstacles in her way she overcame these as best as she could. A great instalment in the Rosemary Lane series.
