I should have spotted that this book was several books into a series. My own fault, it does state clearly that this is book 6 but somehow I missed that information way back when I requested this book.
It explains why I felt lost and unable to connect with characters. This is definitely a book where the previous instalments need to be read first but it’s intriguing enough to make me want to go and read those books and come back to this one again at a later time.

Yet another fantastic read in this series. I always love catching up with Josie and her team and the cases are always gripping. Can't wait for the next one!

Although this was probably my least favourite of the series so far I still enjoyed it – let’s face it everyone, an author cannot please all people all of the time.
Unlike others, I quite liked that this was the first time a significant story line wasn’t focused on Josie or one of her team. There was still lots going on in the background but I’m quite glad none of the team had a personal trauma to deal with; it made it more realistic to me – I mean, how much can one team deal with?!
I’m pumped up for the next book, it felt like it was building to something brilliant to come.
Not recommended as a standalone as I feel too much will have been missed at this point. But go back to book one and have a fantastic time reading from the beginning – I’m quite jealous actually!
Thanks to Bookouture for allowing me to read this in exchange for a review.

Her Silent Cry is the sixth book in Lisa Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn series. Josie is at the park baby sitting Harris. While she is there Lucy Ross disappears as she exits the carousel. It is difficult to figure out how she vanishes in front of her parents. No one in the park remembers seeing her leave the park, but the longer it takes to find her, the more desperate the situation is. Josie can’t believe it. She rallies her team and fellow cops to canvas immediately, still little Lucy can’t be found.

It isn’t long before we find out that the kidnapper has a vendetta against Lucy’s mother, but why? There doesn’t appear to be anything in her background that would cause such hatred. Well until, Josie and her team start to delve into her past and find so many secrets. Will they find Lucy, or will the death toll continue to rise?

I love this series. The crimes are complex. The police procedural is well done and believable. The way Lisa Regan weave the plots and subplots together with the relationships of Josie and her fellow officers is captivating. There is an unanswered question from the previous book that Josie needs to resolve as her relationship with Noah grows. Luke returns with his dog to track Lucy. The relationships with Josie and her team continues to develop. Noah and Josie are getting back on track, after Noah lost his mother. Everything about this book from beginning to end is full of suspense. What an excellent series. I can’t wait for more.

I received this book from NetGalley for free in exchange for an honest review. It was a good story. I liked the steps he investigation team took in finding the killer, especially the witness the thought was the killer. I only had a problem with the wife, her testimony, and she didn't pass the lie detector test. Yet the team did not look into her past earlier. The parallel between Ross's relationship with Lucy and Josie facing a possible pregnancy. Overall it kept you in suspense.

I received this ARC through Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Netgalley.com, to Bookouture, and to Lisa Regan for this opportunity.

A little girl is abducted from a park in broad daylight and Josie just happens to be in the park at the time. No one has seen anything unusual and no one seems to be suspicious. The little girl just vanished. Josie and her team tackle this case with their usual skill and determination. As always, the clock is ticking while the clues accumulate.

This was another great addition to the Josie Quinn series. I've come to love Lisa Regan's books and I am always excited when I see an upcoming publication. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

I have read all of the Josie Quinn mysteries and found each one riveting. “Her Silent Cry” did not disappoint me. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down. A child is kidnapped at a popular park in broad daylight as hundreds of people milled around the park. While search parties scour the area, Detective Josie Quinn determines that the child had gone willingly with the abductor.

Notwithstanding the breakneck pace of the plot, I grew frustrated with what I perceived as weakness of character exhibited by the mother of the kidnapped child. I honestly could not understand how Josie Quinn could stay calm in the face of such enraging weakness. I then had to consider that perhaps the weakness was intentionally built into the mother’s character by the author, intended to be seen as the result of childhood trauma. The fact that I even considered the issue is further testament to Lisa Regan’s writing skill. Like all of the Josie Quinn novels, there are mysteries within mysteries within mysteries, and there are enough unresolved matters to make you want to read the next in the series now, not later! (In return for an honest review I received a review copy of the book from the publisher through NetGalley.)

The sixth book in Lisa Regan’s Josie Quinn series can be read as a standalone, but the other books in the series are not to be missed. In this book, Josie is called to the scene of a missing child. Lucy was on the carousel with her mom and just disappeared while her mom was getting off the ride. There are no clues, only a chilling note left in Little Lucy’s backpack. Colin and Amy, her parents, seem to be at a loss as to who would take her and why. But Josie doesn’t buy into their total innocence and continues to dig deeper. The character of Josie is very well developed in this book, but the rest of her team are kind of secondary characters, kept in the background as Josie does the heavy lifting of staying with the family. I did like the character of Trinity the best because she exhibits a wry sense of humor and is highly intelligent as she follows the clues that Josie gives her to follow. Regan shows her skill at drawing the reader into the story quickly and keeping you hooked throughout, with short chapters and tense action. I enjoyed this latest Josie Quinn book and look forward to more in the future as this one seems to set the scene for more of Josie’s life story to be revealed. Fans of police procedurals and mysteries will enjoy this book and crave more of Josie Quinn.

I received a free e-copy of Her Silent Cry (Detective Josie Quinn Book #6) by Lisa Regan from NetGalley.

Lisa Regan has quickly become one of my favorite author because of this series. Absolutely love them and am always looking forward to the next.

Detective Josie Quinn is at the local park with her friend's son, Harris; when a little girl goes missing. Lucy Ross, who is seven years old has vanished into thin air. She was with her mom one minute on the carousel and the next minute she had vanished.

What they thought was a lost child quickly evolves into an abducted child. A very secretive mother who won't tell anyone about her past and a father who has a job that can attract many enemies. Who has taken sweet Little Lucy?

I recommend this entire series highly but you can read any of them as a stand alone. Each book is filled with mystery and suspense that draws you in to the point you don't want to put the book down.

Thankyou Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

This is the first book I have read in this series, it was a bit off putting at first with all the explanations of characters from previous story lines however the story when it started was well written and a mystery almost to the end I recommend this book read and enjoy

This is a brilliant modern thriller. It's book six in the Detective Josie Quinn series. As usual a fantastic book, full of fast paced action. Well worth reading.

I love this series of books featuring Detective Josie Quinn. This is the sixth book in the series and is another brilliant read. Josie, Noah and her team are investigating the disappearance of a young seven year old girl, Lucy, who disappears when getting off the carousel at a local park. No one saw anything including Josie who was there. Josie asks herself has Lucy just run away or has she been abducted? It soon becomes obvious that she has been kidnapped when her rucksack is found along with a not and a phone. A man answers the call wanting money but then he starts a game by using the phones of Lucy’s mums friends and then killing them. It becomes clear that she is hiding a secret as the killer sees to want to make her suffer. Josie realises this is no straightforward case and she needs to find Lucy before it’s too late. This book has a gripping storyline, with a clever plot, full of tension, twists and turns and a nail biting ending, I love this series and can’t wait for book number seven.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

The sixth Josie Quinn book, and I’m still loving the series.
Josie is in the park with her friends son, suddenly a mother starts calling for her daughter as she has disappeared. Time goes on and the little girl isn’t found - it’s looking more like this is a kidnapping.
Josie and her team fight tirelessly to find Lucy, who has taken her and why?
As the story goes on, past secrets are revealed and the reason for Lucy’s kidnap finally become clear. Is it too late to save her?
In the background runs the story of Josie and Noah’s relationship, along with the appearance of her ex-fiancé Luke.
Great book, looking forward to the next one

Twisted thriller with great characters and storyline. Lots of twists and turns and red herrings. Story moves quickly along and is gripping. Learnt a lot about butterflies too.

I'm a devoted fan of Josie Quinn so my review may be a little slanted. Lisa Regan has developed Josie Quinn into a very relatable character. Her back story grows as she matures into a top notch investigator and champion for victims. The supporting characters all carry their own pieces of the story well, it's never dull or boring.

As the race heats up in the search for a kidnapped little girl, the family's story does not ring true as the bodies start to pile up. Every person that has touched the life of this family is in serious danger. It's a unique twist to a unique story. How Josie manages to figure out the clues and save the day has made a very good read.
